The men arrived just slightly late but went right to work and were very efficient. They were very polite and business like. I paid what I was quoted and would use them again.
We used All My Sons the past weekend for a move from Hilliard to Westerville. The movers were pleasant and quick. They also took great care of our belongings. However, once they were done packing up our old home (or so I thought) they came out to tell me they were all done and to meet them at the new home. After moving in there, my wife and I went back to clean the old house so the new owner didn’t walk in to a mess. We found that our walk in closet was full of boxes, crates and suitcases. This was 6 hours+ after the guys had finished at our new house and after business hours. Fast forward to today (Monday) and my wife calls to inform them that we ended up taking 3 car loads from our closet because the crew failed to get all of our stuff. She was essentially told it was our fault for not seeing it on the walk through. No walkthrough happened. The crew came out to me and said “all done, see you at the new house” so I assumed they meant they had gotten everything. The man was increasingly rude to my wife and said there was nothing they can do. So I call and eventually got hung up on after the guy on the other end got louder and more aggressive to the point where he was extremely unprofessional and I let him know that. All we wanted was a small compensation for the INCOMPLETE JOB. We paid good money and we extremely happy up until the very end. I have been waiting hours for a call back from somebody higher up. I’m sure I’ll be waiting a long time.... sad it came to this. Will never use All My Sons again.
If I could give 0 stars I would. They came out to provide an estimate, walked each room and provided an estimate. The estimate was reasonable and we agreed to use their services. We clearly explained that we needed to be out by 5pm so the new owners could take possession. The original estimate was for 6 hours of labor from 3 guys, however they called the night before and told us they would be to our place around noon. That would have been tight but they assured us they could do it. However on moving day they didn't show up until 3. The 3 guys proceeded to fill up their truck and about 5:30 told me they were almost done because the truck was full. I walked around the house to find several large items still in rooms, 2 large desks and hutch, dining room table and 2 large TVs. I asked if they were calling for an additional truck or something and I was told they were only supposed to move 38 items and the truck was full so they couldn't do anything else. The head guy told me I should try to get a U-Haul or something for the remaining items. So if you want a dishonest company that will over promise and under deliver, then give these guys a try. If you value your time and possessions go with anyone else.
This is an absolutely disgraceful excuse for a moving company. They were booked a week in advance to move my family starting at 8:30 am on Friday morning. They were aware we had to be out of the house by 3:00 pm. At 8:35 on Friday morning, they called to say they had no crew available to move us. Their excuse: The crew assigned to you had a long day on Thursday and did not show up for work. Those of you who’ve moved recently know how stressful it is. The action of this company moved the experience into the 7th circle of hell. Do not trust them! Do not hire them under any circumstances!
There performance for our move was borderline illegal. I called and was told it would be $179 an hour with $179 for travel and 12% for fuel, etc. They said they would send a 26' truck with 4 movers. I told them that I only wanted to fill the truck. I knew that I would have more stuff that wouldn't fit into the truck. I wanted them to load the big stuff and backfill the truck with as much small stuff as would fit. I would take care of the rest. I told them when I booked that my only concern was the hourly rate. I was told it would take 2-3 hours to load and 2-3 hours to unload. I was told that should put it at about $1000-1200.
They showed up and it didn't take long to figure out that these guys were not motivated to say the least. They took two 15+ minute breaks in the first 2 hours. I never saw one guy move anything. He just walked from the house to the truck talking to the other guys. One guy just kept folding blankets and laying out straps in the truck. That took an hour.
After 2 hours in, I spoke to the lead mover and told him I wasn't going to pay for 10+ hours on the day. I told him about the 2-3 hours each way and said that I thought 7 hours would be enough. He said that if I was ok with 7 hours that they would cap it at that. I sat back and relaxed until an hour later when I called the office to confirm what I was told. Doug in the office told me that was not correct and that the clock would continue to run.
At that point, I shut it down. I told them to close the doors and go to the new house. They were going to charge me until 4:30 that day and wouldn't unload the truck until I paid. They also added $200 in packing material that hadn't been mentioned prior. Before the unload, I told them that they were not to unpack or assemble anything. Just get it off the truck. Many items were just moved to the garage and I moved them later. We finished at 3. I called Doug and he said I had a $300 refund coming back to me and it would take 5-7 days to get it back into my account.
I called to register a complaint. I went through part of it and was told to put it in an email. I sent the email. I got a reply that said my $300 was refunded to my account. The refund was not returned on the day they said it was coming back. It only came after I sent the email.
These guys are nothing but con artists and crooks. They used a bate and switch when they said it would be $1000-1200 when it really could have easily been $2500 or more. They used it again when the lead mover told me that they would cap it at 7 hours when that was never going to happen. If this practice is not illegal, it should be.
When I spoke to the people in the office, they kept telling me that they never know how long it will take to move the contents of a home. Each home is different. That's fine except the deal was never to move the entire contents of my home. The deal always was to fill the truck. They have to know how long it takes to fill a truck. My home didn't have any out of the ordinary items that would have made the move that much harder.
In the end, they didn't even fill the truck. There was still 3-4' left and top 3 feet of the truck was completely empty. I ended up renting a 20' truck to move my stuff. My son and I loaded the truck completely full and unloaded it in 4 hours. The 4 movers from AMS didn't load as much as we did and it took 4 of them 4.5 hours to load it. That didn't include the unloading.
I will for sure never use AMS again and will never use a moving company that charges by the hour.
Beware of this company. We paid the deposit weeks in advance and this company failed to show up on the scheduled day. They claimed is was due to situations out of their control and told us they will be there the following day. The next day (Another day off from work) they failed to show up again. I had to extend my lease out because I could not find another company in time to move us with such short notice. The manager Anthony was so unprofessional and even raised his voice at me. Never in my life have I dealt with such a bad company. My family placed their trust in this company and they failed miserably. We have kids and had to move by a set date. I thought I did my research but I really don't know how they are in business. Please choose someone else.
Their delivery truck drove over my corner lot delivering to a new neighbor down the street from us and broke a sprinkler head in our yard. After I went to a lot of effort to find out which ALL MY SONS did the delivery, I contacted them. Robert Camac basically accused me of lying about it being their truck that did the damage. He offered to pay me $25 in good faith, after I bought a new sprinkler head and did the repairs myself. I never saw his lousy $25. I had just sold my house for $675K and he's accusing me of scamming him.
It started with the sales person Sonny coming to my home very polite and courteous!! Then I needed to ask him some questions and couldn't find his card so I looked them up on computer and they had glowing reviews to not so nice ones. I was thinking what did I get myself into. So spoke with Sonny the following Monday and he explained why negative comments were made and working in retail for as many years as I have I can spot bs a million miles away. But his explanation was so logical and believable I decided to stick with them. Then Greg called me and reassured me. The day of my move Drew called me. Then the guys John "Glenville" (a nickname I gave him) and Charles showed up. Everyone knows how stressful moves are not with these 3 they were the most fun I had during this whole move!! Very courteous, very careful with all my stuff, didn't damage anything. I am so happy to have taken a chance on them after what I read. I am sorry for all those who had a bad experience but things have drastically changed at this company because of the bad things that happened and expressed but they have taken many steps to insure those situations won't happen again. Take the time to make phone calls talk to people in the company and make your decision then. John Glenville and Charles I will be waiting for that phone call for the Browns Game!!!!
This company is horrible. I would never recommend them. We booked in advance for a small house move. They said early afternoon and would call us. They never called and we kept calling them to check because it was getting late. They finally admitted at 3:15pm they were not going to make it and the soonest they could move us would be the following week. People who schedule a move in advance most often do not have an extra week when they sell their home and hence need movers on the day they book. It is completely unthinkable that a moving company would cancel the day of a move and they acted as if they didn't care and did not try to even move us first thing the next day. This a horrible thing to do to a family. They should not be in business.
Worst experience of my life. Manager screamed and hung up on me several times. Corporate Manager didn't apologize when I called him for help, just stated "I can't offer you an immediate solution". Movers showed up 10 hours late and had to stop halfway through the job per labor laws. Stated they would be out the next morning to finish the job and didn't show up.
They lied to us twice about when the pickup was to take place and then tried to upsell us on a larger crew in order to get it done when they promised. DO NOT USE THEM they lie!!!!!
Absolutely the worst experience! The company showed up 9 hours late which I could tolerate; however they did not communicate with me and I had to repeatedly call them to get any answers. I received a call from the driver/mover (Andre) once he arrived and he began yelling and threatening to leave as he could not determine where to park. The verbal abuse continued as he threatened to take the furniture off the truck the whole time he was packing it. He continued with snide and racist slurs throughout the move. Finally he threw all of my furniture into my home without any attention or care. I seriously feared for my safety and have reported the incident with police for fear that he may return to my home for retaliation. I spent 300$ to experience such horrible business etiquette. I called the office location to communicate with the boss (Kenon), yet he did not seem to be interested in listening to my whole horrible recount of the events..... stopping several times to tell me he had me on speaker phone and his children were in the room. Why would he have a concerned and upset customer on speaker phone with his family, again very bad business etiquette. I will be communicating with the corporate office to bring light to this unacceptable situation, while I remain in fear for my family's safety as the unstable employee knows my home address.
They will do anything to get your money but beware: they are beyond dishonest. The owner, Adam, is rude and doesn't care about his customers at all either.
They were supposed to send 5 people but sent only 4. They charged us additional fee for 180 blankets but sent only 55. This not only kept the packers from finishing packing the first day as it says on their contract, but they didn't say anything about these dishonest additional charges until we noticed it and brought it to their attention.
I wish we had paid more attention to the reviews about their bad customer service and dishonest 'hidden' fees. Also one of their 'professional' crew told us that he was on probation.
Company is completely unreliable . Started with appraisal of move with estimate. Failed to notice Header in driveway and they sent a truck that would not fit under it. Rescheduled after agreeing they would need to get a smaller truck to upload into larger van. Came on scheduled day and they didn't have a smaller truck had to go get one. Moved my belongings and left behind 1/2 of my Sleep Comfort bed frame and motor for bed. Also failed to get everything they were instructed to take. Stored belongings for 3 months. Moved us to new location and we found many damaged items after unpacking. Of course they have you sign here-sign here-sign here all in a hurry. Antiques from family heritage damaged and or destroyed. 150 year old dresser had pedestal shelf broken off and lost pegs to attached mirror back. A 100 year old bubble glass picture broken into shards. Couch torn, ladder shelving unit cracked, TV stand unit leg broken off, missing 4 shelves to various units, coffee table damaged.A $1800 electric recliner broken (less than a year old). Electric cord torn off. I called to complain and was told they would contact project manager and have him call me. I have heard nothing from anyone at the company. Total costs $4300 . DO NOT CALL THESE PEOPLE FOR YOUR MOVE.
They are thieves. The driver got lost for a half hour and they charged me for it and refused to give my money back. They also charged me twice the price they told me before the move. Once they had the truck loaded with my furniture they said if I didn't pay that price that they came up with right then and there they would lock the truck and not give me my furniture. I had no choice but to pay it to get my furniture. I contacted the manager and he hung up on me twice. The driver even called his manager and said he went the wrong way and was gone for a half hour and they still charged me for that half hour.
I will NEVER work with this company again. I booked my move a month in advance to ensure I could have my end of the month move out date from my apartment. I also requested a move later in the day to be able to coordinate with the landlord of my new apartment. All was agreed to and confirmed. Received my confirmation call a few days before the move, also stating everything was ready to go. The day of my move, at about 2:30 in the afternoon, I receive a call from them stating they are running behind and may not be able to get to me because they can't have their guys working late and/or after dark. This is the most absurd thing I have ever heard. I have moved numerous times and NEVER had a company tell me HOURS before the move that they need to reschedule. I had to plead with my current landlord so as not to charge me for an extra day as my lease was up. The most I got out of them was "well things happen and it's not our fault". Couldn't even get a guarantee from them of a confirmed time for the next day. I ended up finding different movers altogether. Most unreliable, unprofessional moving company I have ever dealt with. ZERO STARS (only gave one because I can't submit without doing so).
This company is unprofessional and unreliable.
I booked a move on 5/8 for 5/31. Tuesday before the move they hadn’t called so I called them. They said they’d call with time on Wednesday. No call Wednesday. Thursday I call them and after being transferred many times they say they’ll call me right back. Three hours later I call them. They say they can no longer come in the morning like I’d booked but between 4 and 6pm. Service elevator at our building can only be reserved until 6.
But it gets worse! My husband calls day of and they say they are not coming. They’d meant to tell us but hadn’t gotten around to it. Then tried to move us out 5 days. 1pm and they hadn’t even bothered to let us know so we could book someone else. That seems very suspicious to me that they hoped we couldn’t find an alternative.
Overall I want others to know this is not a reputable company in Georgia and they should look elsewhere for moving services if they don’t want to get cancelled on day of without getting updated.
Terrible. Damaged furniture. Won't return calls. Less than a 1 star.
Someone kicked in or punched in our dresser on purpose. Why do I believe it was on purpose, because they left a Swatstika sign on it. I guess because they didn?t think we?d move the furniture around for quiet some time, they didn?t think we?d notice. But I moved it to plug in some lamps and there it was ! A huge hole and the racist propaganda associated with millions dying.
I tipped the 3 workers $20 each when they loaded my furniture for the move. In the loading process the broke half the legs off my desk. Upon arriving to unload I again tipped each of the 3 with $20. When they unloaded at our new home we found deep scratches on the buffet and dining room table. They also lost all the screws to reassemble the platform bed and the screws to mount the mirror on the dresser. I filed a claim and sent pictures. After a month they responded that they would refund $126 for the damages. I thought they repair the desk, buffet, table, and replace the screws that were missing. It took another month to get the refund. I had to buy the materials and make the repairs myself. I would never recommend them.
