I can't give less than one star, but I guess the team was courteous and so that gets one star. That is about all I can say that is positive. (this is a review of the McKinney branch)
Frustrated, irritated, angry, disappointed... these are not adjectives that should be used to describe a moving day.
Let me just start by saying that this is not my first move or tenth. I moved from a 1 bedroom, ground floor apartment. Never in all of my 10+ moves has it taken any crew (sometimes 2 men, sometimes 3) more than 4 - 4.5 hours to complete the move (including drive time between locations) - from load to unload. It took this crew/company over SIX hours (from 9 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.when I kicked them off-site) to move a packed apartment. When I called their offices and questioned the time it was taking, I was told that their teams don't "run around like chickens with their heads cut off" by "***." He said that they move deliberately and carefully. That could be also read as "We milk the clock to take as long as possible because we charge you hourly." The move I was expecting to cost about $700-800 (per the estimate given to me when I called and past experiences with the length of time it's taken for other moves) ended up costing me OVER $1200 for extra time and fees ($144 charge for fuel for a 10-minute drive, that is ridiculous).
There was a lot of standing around by the 3-man crew discussing how to do the job. 25 alone minutes spent discussing how the prior movers got my couch into the apartment and how to get my couch out of my apartment! There was discussion that it couldn't be removed because it didn't fit. Um, guys, it was IN the apartment and therefore it has to fit. More milking the clock.
I asked them to remove and pack the artwork from the walls and move it. They left over half of it on the walls. Just didn't bother to take it. Why? Beats me. They repeatedly asked me, "do you want us to move this?" They even asked if I wanted them to wrap a bed and furniture I had in the storage room at my apartment.
Price I could have forgiven if the team had been in the least bit careful with my stuff. Boxes were crushed (ones specifically marked FRAGILE), my couch was ruined (they repeatedly tried to force it into the door rubbing the end corners on the concrete landing without any padding so it shredded the end of the couch and broke the corners.) The television was scratched (fortunately it doesn't affect the picture/viewing). Glasses were broken, etc. They were less than careful with my stuff. And then there was property damage - dents and scratches - to the (freshly painted) door of the apartment and broken blinds.
Later that day, I went back to the old apartment and discovered that there were no less than 7 empty or mostly empty tape rolls just tossed around the apartment. Also, I'd gone to get them drinks during the move (it was ridiculously hot and humid) and there were empty Gatorade bottles just tossed in my bedroom floor (red Gatorade on the carpet... fortunately I was able to get the stain out). They didn't bother to pick up after themselves.
*** - The GM - and I are now on a first name basis. I spoke to him repeatedly throughout the day and he assured me repeatedly that this is not the way they run the business. He is new and is trying to make it better. He has been understanding and helpful after the fact, but I would still not recommend them - and if you do use them, take out the supplemental insurance. You will likely need it.
Hired moving company to move contents of our home from Garland to Hutchins. Two of the crew used my bathroom in new house. Stole three rings.
Hired All My Sons to move us from Garland to Hutchins on July 30, 2018. Four-man crew showed up smelling like marijuana. The finished loading truck, and we all met in Hutchins at my house. One of the crew asked to use my bathroom immediately upon entering the home. Of course, I gave him permission to do so. Later in they unloading of our things, another of the crew asked to use the bathroom. He also was given permission to use those facilities. They finished up, we bought the entire crew lunch of their choice and tipped each mover. Not even five minutes after they left the house, I went into my bathroom and saw my jewelry dish on the bathroom sink. I reached in to remove my charm bracelet and put it on and realized that my engagement ring, wedding ring and another custom diamond ring were all missing from the dish. They are ALWAYS under the bracelet in the dish if I don't have them on. I didn't even think about removing them. We called the company immediately, and they told us to call the police. They also sent the crew back to our house, after telling them that I needed help locating my two rings that were worth more than $12K. The actual replacement value of these rings is more than $16,500, and we have all the documentation to show this. Our biggest problem is that the driver of the truck told us that one of the workers who used our bathroom was "under suspicion" from the team and the company for other issues that have happened. The Hutchins PD did a report and are still hoping to find the jewelry. All My Sons Moving is refusing to compensate us in any way for the theft and has suggested our only recourse is to get an attorney and to file on our own insurance. We have contacted our insurance company, and there is minimal coverage for my stolen rings. We need your help ensuring this company that says it prides itself on "family values" is shown to be the fraud that it really is.
I had used this company before in 2012, and they were excellent at the time. I am mortified that I didn't check reviews again before putting us in this situation.
At minimum, the company as a bonded and insured company should make an offer to help us replace the rings their team stole. There was no one else who had access to that bathroom but the two gentlemen who had my permission to do so.
All My Sons Moving & Storage received a claim submission from the customer for alleged theft of jewelry from their private residence. The claim was evaluated and a determination was made and forwarded to the customer. A copy of the claim determination is attached to this reply. The customer has been advised of additional recourse, following the outcome of the claim review.
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Yes, we received a letter from All My Sons denying any culpability in the theft of my wedding rings; however, had we not hired their team to complete our move, I would still have my rings. They did tell us we could file a dispute with TXDOT; however, this was not a situation that was related to them moving or damaging my property in a move. This was a situation where their team removed my property from my new house. I do not accept the company's lack of attention to this issue as a resolution. That said, I have documentation of the cost of replacement for all three of the rings their movers stole from my bathroom in my new house. I expect that the company will reconsider their decision to make this right. They promise they do background checks on all their movers; they claim to be bonded and insured. I still don't have my rings or any way to replace them. Given their terrible rating as a business, it would seem logical that they should not be allowed to even do business in Texas or any other state. I'm disappointed that we are still going through this process to no avail.
In response to the rebuttal filed by the customer, our position with respect to the claim and status remain the same at this time. Thank you for allowing us an opportunity to offer a reply to the rebuttal.
Poor service. They lied to us regarding cost. They were very late and unprofessional. Many of our items were damaged and not packaged properly. Look at the google reviews. Don?t make the same mistake we made and hire this company
A neighbor two houses away apparently hired this company to move out. The gas company is doing work on our street so their loading was an issue. They chose to park in front of my driveway completely obstructing access (never came to ask us if we needed in or out of our driveway and took it upon themselves to decide we did not need access to our driveway because they did not see our vehicles back there.) When I stood on my porch and asked why they were blocking my driveway, they said they had to block someone's...no matter where they moved, theyd have the same problem. I asked them any idea how long and he said no. I asked an hour, 5 hours...all day? He said that depends on how heavy the items were. So they are blocking my driveway and wont indicate any time frame. They feel Im rude and chose, per the driver's statement on my Facebook review, to not move because of my attitude...which was enflamed due to the movers refusing to move. Hindsight, I should have just called the police and requested they help facilitate communication of my request. For the record, the driver responding to the FB post stated he is a cop and nothing would have happened because they werent breaking the law. Fascinating PR for the company...and cops. If you choose to use them, good luck.
What was promised during the sale is not what was delivered.
This has been the worst experience moving in my entire life. I'm in the hotel business so I move more than anyone would like too. We met with Mr. *** on July 28, 2018 to get a quote for our move scheduled August 17th. *** is a terrific sales men very professional looking as if he was one of the son's of "All my Sons". He was such a smooth talker and very believable about the services, professionalism and quality trained professional moving team we were going get for our move. They would box artwork, Tv's in TV boxes and if we needed any additional boxes they would supply them. We were concerned with our dining table because it was glass and our bedroom furniture because it was Italian marble. We had these specially boxed during our last move. *** talked us out of boxing the marble because each box was $250 and it was such a short trip, he thought it would be a waist of money (again a smooth talker). He suggested to only box the glass dining room table, which we agreed to pay an extra $250.00. One of his sales pitches was they were the official movers of the Miami Dolphins, we'll get back to that later. I questioned him about the time because he said they would get us packed, moved and unpacked all in the same day? On 8/16 I received a call to confirm our move and everything that was discussed with ***. The gentlemen said the crew would be there at 8am sharp. So, my wife and I got up at 7am so I could take our dog to the dog sitter and get our cleaning lady over to the new house to start cleaning and rushing to get home by 8am. At 9:18 they finally show up. Again, I have moved several times in my career and this was probably the largest crew we ever had in five men, actually four men and one boy. These guys were not only so slow and a disaster in there packing but VERY unprofessional and inexperienced. They all came with tee shirts with the company logo however within a matter of minutes all but one had removed their shirts. One walking around the whole time with his shorts below his *** exposing his underwear just like in the hood. Not one of my flat screen TVs were boxed they were all just wrapped in blanks. The box promised for are dining table wasn't brought and also wrapped in a blanket; the base of the table wasn't taken apart. All of art work was thrown in boxes together with no padding. My wife and I did more work and packing on this move then we ever had to, in fact at the end we just started loading her car and my truck with boxes just so we could get these guys moving faster and done. I took the time to patch and paint the walls of the home we were renting only to have these guys damage walls and baseboards. We finally left the old home around 4:30pm and It's was about 6:10pm and already walls and stair railings are damaged in the new house. These guys never marked anything so when it came to unloading they were just putting stuff everywhere. Things that belonged in the garage were going upstairs in bedrooms, things that belong upstairs are still sitting in the garage. Not one item was tagged and logged as to where it goes like most moving companies. It was a completely unorganized. Our move from Tampa to Fort Lauderdale with Allied was just three guys and they ran circles around this five-man crew. Damage I have several pictures. The dining table has a chip in it. The marble on one piece of the bedroom furniture has a chip in it. We have a chunk of would broken off on the steps and a huge dent/hole on the wall going up the steps. Trying to unpack and find stuff has been so difficult, in fact I still can't find one TV bracket for the large TV and missing are smallest TV all together but still searching for it. That evening my wife and I felt we had been in a bad nightmare dream. We finally went to bed around midnight totally exhausted as the movers didn't leave until 10:30ish.
Repair damage and some refund.
We apologize that we did not meet this customer's expectations. We have reviewed their complaint and would like to point out a few items:
1)Customer mentioned boxes were not labeled. Customer packed all of the boxes, we did not. Labeling would have been done if we packed.
2)Customer mentioned we were late. We confirmed the details of the job with the customer with an arrival time between 8a and 10am. Customer mentioned we arrived at 9:18am. We arrived inside confirmed time window.
3) Customer mentioned *** stated $250 special box was necessary. Not true, customer actually purchased this option.
4) As for any damaged items, the customer has agreed and signed acknowledging the claims process. They will need to dail XXX-XXX-XXXX and request a claims packet.
After claims packet is submitted, we will make a monetary offer to resolve all concerns.
Thank you.
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
On #1. Yes we packed ourselves and labeled every box. The issues was finding our stuff when unpacking because most of it was left in the garage or put in the wrong room even after explaining several time which room is which. The mention of tagging boxes was simply what other professional moving companies do. We are still missing a wall mount tv bracket. On#2 we were called the night before and told they would be at the house by 8am!
On #3 once again they are lying this box was ordered and paid for in advance with *** but never provided and corner of Glass table was damaged. In addition to several pieces of artwork frames and a huge hole on our wall. On#4 perhaps the most logical way to see how professional this company is to its customers. We are giving a number to Call to put in a claim. There was no follow up call to apologize for the issues that we experienced and certainly no apology on the damages!
The customer has not reached out to our customer care team to request a claims packet. Our company has now emailed and sent via postal mail a claims packet to customer's new address. This is the process the customer agreed to in resolving any damages.
We apologize if our service did not meet the customer's expectations. Our initial response was accurate.
Thank you.
We used this company to move our daughter and it was a fiasco! They showed up late, unprepared and blaming previous team for leaving the truck in a mess, complained about bosses and finally called and requested a different crew. They got us moved , it was more than originally quoted and they broke an antique dresser drawer. Never again. Consumer beware!
Booked All My Sons to pack fragile items and load 1 BR apartment into a ***. We chose All My Sons because we were told that all packing supplies would be provided and were included in the labor rate. Less than 24 hours before the move, we were told that supplies were actually charged extra and should cost ~$***. On move-day, movers showed up without any bubble wrap, mattress pads, or picture/art boxes. All of our furniture, glassware, and glass-plated frames were only covered by paper and had no padding whatsoever for a cross-country trip. Those materials ended up costing more than $***. On top of that, All My Sons failed to tell us about a % fuel surcharge (even though they were not transporting our items) on the TOTAL bill until the day before the move. Our move went from ~$*** at initial estimate to more than $***. Customer service was completely unwilling to take any responsibility for the poor communication about these hidden charges. Total scam and would never use again.
SPOILER ALERT: they flaked on me twice and didn't give a *** about me as a customer.
My move was scheduled for a Friday as "second move" of the day, with movers to arrive between 1-5pm. Movers did not show up to my door until Sunday at 4:50pm. I have never had movers flake on me until I booked All My Sons. They kept telling me they were delayed and only pushed me off. They told me they couldn't move me Friday and that the next available time to move me was SUNDAY if I didn't want the movers to come so late and obviously exhausted from their first move. I was told they had to push back customers scheduled on Sunday to Monday in order to accommodate me, but you couldn't push back your Saturday customers to fit me in first since I was scheduled first? That didn’t make any sense. We agreed to Sunday and I was promised we would be the very first move on Sunday with movers coming between "9-10am".
Come Sunday morning and I never received a call from the movers for the 30 minutes or so heads up to expect them. Around 10am I called the customer service line only to discover I couldn't talk to anyone until 11am when the phone lines opened! When I finally got on the line, I was transferred to Jermaine W in the Operations Department. And what does he tell me? That I'm NOT ON THE SCHEDULE for Sunday. He told me he was aware of my situation but he knew nothing about me being the first move of the day and he could not guarantee that movers would get to me at all on Sunday. He was very unsympathetic, very apathetic, and totally unconcerned with my situation at hand. He made no attempts to rectify anything, made no apologies, and simply had an attitude of it-is-what-it-is-and-I-can't-do-anything-about-it-nor-do-I-care-to. All he tried to do was keep pushing my move back to Monday or Tuesday but I had repeatedly told them I could not be delayed any further and I needed movers now. I was appalled at his complete lack of caring and his lack of gestures to make anything right. All he could tell me was "call back later for a better update." Throughout Sunday I had no choice but to sit around, frantically try to find back up movers to no avail at such last minute timing, and felt total despair that All My Sons would once again fail me. Finally, at 4:50pm on Sunday the movers did show up and completed the move, 2 days after the fact.
I’ve never experienced such poor customer service. I understand summers are busy moving days, but if I'm scheduled for a certain day, I need to move that day. The total lack of compassion and gestures to rectify the situation were appalling. I had to put up with being pushed off and off with no guarantees I would even be moved. No one could even tell me sorry! No one offered me any sort of incentive to stay with this company--I stayed simply because I had no other choice. I can't believe I had to pay full price for the amazingly dismal service and disrespect of my time and my need to move.
The movers also overcharged me for the amount of time it took them to complete my move. Half a star is for the fact they eventually refunded me the overage.
Also, one of the movers reeked of weed smoke. Like, your personal habits are your personal habits but you should not get to *** off and get high when you're supposed to be moving my stuff and focused on a job. The crew scratched up my walls and floors and I've had no reconciliation from the damage claim I submitted over two weeks ago. On top of that, the lead mover kept hounding us about tipping his crew. I've never had a moving company so in your face about tipping them. You weren't even stellar.
It's hard to believe All My Sons considers themselves customer-focused with the way I was treated and pushed aside with no apologies or any gestures of compassion in this difficult time. Moving is one of the 3 most stressful things in a person's life and All My Sons doesn't care about you at all. Stay away from them.
The company low-balled the cost and time of the move to get our business and then held us and our belongings hostage until we paid them the extra $$.
We had the most horrific experience with All My Sons Moving. Everything seemed fine when we first booked the move. We described the items we had. They quoted us a 3 hour move time frame at $149/hour, with a possibility it could got to 4 hours. We were NOT offered the opportunity to have someone come out and do an onsite estimate for us. The day of the move it all went down hill. The movers were 1 1/2 hours late arriving. Once they did arrive only 1 of the 3 moving guys seemed to know what he was doing. The others moved slower than slow, and did a lot of looking around and using their cell phones. The move was quoted to us to take no longer than 3 hours, with 4 being a stretch . It took 2x as long -- 8 hours to move a 2 bedroom apartment on a first floor, with only boxes and some furniture. What's more the price quoted us turned out to be wrong too. Instead of the $450 quoted they charged us over $1,200 to move 2 miles away!! When we spoke with their "operations manager" she was rude and nasty too us, and kept telling us we were the problem not them. They held us hostage while we tried to work thru the issues saying that if we didn't pay them the additional money, the movers would not move our things in. What choice did we have then since all of our belongings were on the moving truck. We had no choice then. This was a bait and switch and seems to be the same problem that this company was charged with in a class action law suit as I read on the Revdex.com website now. Please help us resolve this.
We should not have to pay for the additional hours of move time for the company's mis quote of what the move would cost us as well as their incompetent workers.
Business Response /(1000, 6, 2018/08/13) */ This customer, ***, contacted our office on 4/26 and booked her moving services on that same day. Lynette was quoted an hourly rate for 3 men @ $149 per hour plus a 1 hr travel charge, and a fuel surcharge. Move was scheduled for 7/24 and was informed we would call 1 to 2 days before the move to verify the details. At 11:19 am on 7/23 we confirmed and verified all the details for the move. All terms of service were reviewed including hourly rate, travel charge, and fuel surcharge. Charges would be based on the amount of time it took to complete the job. Also, verified was pickup was on the 3rd floor and destination was on the 4th floor. Moving team was scheduled to arrive between 8a and 9am in the morning. On 7/24 our moving team did arrive at 9:30am and completed the move at 3:30pm. The customer signed the moving contract verifying these times. At 10:20am our office contacted *** to verify our crew was meeting her expectations. *** exact quote was "guys are doing great". Customer was only charged for the actual time the move took. All charges were disclosed prior to move, and customer signed contract agreeing to terms of service. No refund is due this customer. However, in an effort to resolve this customer complaint we are willing to offer a $100 refund if customer agrees this issue to be resolved. Consumer Response /(3000, 8, 2018/08/17) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) The logistics information is incorrect. The location of our move was on the 1st story, not the 3rd. We verified that several times with the movers. Access to our apartment was easy, with everything boxed up and ready to go. This should not have taken the excessive length of time to load the truck or unload it that it did. The movers first arrived at 9:30 a.m. and when the main office called to see how things were going, it had been less than an hour into their loading the truck to know that we were hours away from them being done. At that point they were doing great, but it went down hill from there. I called the office back at approximately 11:30 a.m. to say that the move was going vastly slower than expected, that 2 of three guys were spending more time standing around and didn't seem to know what they were doing. She said an Operations Supervisor would call me back. No one called me back so I called the office again after 12:30 and after being transferred several times finally was sent to a customer service person who I shared my concerns with that the move was taking too long and the movers were not working well at all, so we needed to get this resolved asap. She was rude and said that this was our problem, we had no right to be upset, and that her moving guys were simply doing their job. Once we finally got to the new apartment, I called again and was told by another Customer Service person that this was my issue and that if I wanted to get my move completed that I needed to not complain and simply let them do their job. She said that the problem was me not their movers. The issues continued once they arrived at our new apartment building and took several more hours to unload the truck. The standing around and not knowing what they were doing by 2 of the 3 movers continued. We called the office again and were told if we wanted to get our items moved in that we had to agree to the charges and sign off on the move or it would cost us even more than it was at that point. We had no choice but to sign off and pay for this as our belongings were on the truck. The lack of customer service and rude responses from this company are the most unprofessional and unwarranted we have ever experienced. To offer us $100 as a courtesy is an insult. We have found now that there are many similar complaints again this company so know we are not the only ones who have experienced this. Had we known that this was their terrible customer service history, we would have chosen other movers. This is clearly a bait and switch issue and a company that has a history of operating this way. We deserve to have this resolved equitably. This move took at least 2 to 2 1/2 hours longer than it should have. the distance between our old apartment and new one was only 2 miles. What's more, the movers literally disappeared for 30 minutes on their way to our new apartment. They drove by, saw our new apartment, and then left not even sure where they went. 30 minutes later they called us to ask where we were. The only reason the move took 6 hours is because their movers wasted time and were not competent. We want to get this resolved, so will meet them in the middle on this and are asking for $200 to be refunded to us to resolve this complaint. We look forward to hearing the response. Business Response /(4000, 12, 2018/08/31) */ In an effort to obtain resolution we will agree to process a $200 credit to the customer's credit card used for payment with our company. Just read all the complaints below.
Fake quotes, last minute cancelation, extortion, evasive customer service.
First on the positive side the crew that showed up was great and the move went quick . Now for the reason I will never use them again and will tell the world never use them. Called and was told available for a Sunday morning move 830-930. Couple days before the move was called by local dispatcher to go over details of the move. First was told move was for Sunday afternoon now 1-5 . Thought had reserved Sunday morning but was told they are just sales managers and don’t know our schedule . My thought there then how do they book on days suppose to be available. This was an easy move , bedroom furniture , living room furniture from condo to storage 10 miles away. Figured ok no biggie we will just rearrange our day and do afternoon. Went over details of what we were moving so they could plan . Then Sunday morning at 850 Am get cAll we are on the way. Ah ok that’s fine my daughter is at condo but we were told it had been changed to Sunday afternoon, so now changed back? Ah hold one second please , oops called wrong customer yes you are our afternoon move. So we go condo stage for delivery , being hourly rate for local move wanted furniture out and ready to go. Wait wait ok now 3 pm wondering are we on schedule . Had told dispatcher and driver that called moving to storage unit so as long as get in morning or afternoon we are good , but do not have all night access. Called the driver who called me earlier , name Josh , and he was very positive no problem almost done here , just have to finish this move and be there no later than a couple hours. Reiterated have to get in Storage unit before 9 pm and was told no problem we will have you in and out long before that . Ok now little after 5 and we have been waiting all day. Called and this time Joshes phone went to voicemail . Now getting real worried . Figuring hour to load and 20 minute drive they need to be here in next hour or so or we are screwed. Called the toll free number where I had booked reservation with gentleman named Mao. Talked to a gentleman who again was very nice on phone and was contacting Caleb the local operations manger and was told he would. All me. Ok have never heard from this Caleb fellow . Waited about 30minutes and recalled Josh figiuring we are close to be totally screwed . This time he answered but attitude was very different. Could tell he was very frustrated . There is only two of us and cannot get to you until we finish this move. We already had figured they had a much bigger move than ours booked so we got bumped. This time he had no idea if and when getting to us. Tried to call toll free number but now after 6 on Sunday and they are closed. Daughter has to work Monday and still, have not cleaned condo because we were planning on doing that after move. Did leave voicemail on toll free . Now we are wondering how can we move furniture and only have two days before lease is up . Surprise surprise Mao calls me after 630 . The moving crew will not be with us until at least 8 pm. Explained really don’t know how much move is until they get there and why they give windows of arrival. My thought there is then why do they call and go into detail everything that is being moved . I told Tony the dispatcher every piece we had to load and exactly how far to storage unit . How do they not know Ok that means we are not moving today. My suggestion was we own pretty good size garage not far from storage unit , take load there and at company’s expense they come retrieve and take to storage , would take only about an hour. Told quickly that is not happening. His suggestion they could be there now Monday morning 830-930 . Problem daughter has to work , ok dad is retired so now all on dad. Sunday night don’t have many options and he explains that they will not charge us the state tax for moving of 15% that is required. When ask that I was told that the “state moving tax “ is required by law was told they would pay it . Really since no such thing guess they are not paying much. Ok ok this has to happen let’s do it Monday . Like said crew shows up , quick move did very good job
And very personable . Probably tipped them way to much but they were the benefactors of me being relieved that it was done and knew nothing that happened before was their fault. No calls no apologies but now in few months when need to move furniture to daughters new home, no way will we be calling them .
I believe this company has fraudulent practice. My experience was horrific and included multiple broken items, attempted by-off, and theft. They sent a professional to estimate, low-ball the number, told me they are going to wrap your items with blankets and plastic wrap, and then did not. The crew chief did not stay on the job, and left unexperienced young movers who do not work efficiently. When it got late, they asked if I would pay them on the side to finish the job the next day. One walked off the job. Even when the crew chief arrived to finish the job, multiple large items were not packed appropriately and were left broken and/or damaged. A mahogany table was literally broken in half. Piano keys broken. Cabinets scarred. The move ended up taking two days. I realized afterwards that $140 was missing from my wallet. The police said that this would likely not be solved. The company only agreed to pay the basic coverage for which I had paid, even though they had not provided basic care as they promised. The cost of repair is $4500. They offered $450.
I believe they have fradralent practices, and would only have provided decent care to my items if I paid an extra $800 for full coverage.
Let me start by saying that the movers themselves, while slow, were very friendly.
Beyond that, DO NOT even consider using All My Sons for your next move. We moved 6 miles down the road from a two bedroom apartment with only enough furniture to fill 1/3 of the truck and it cost us $***. For the same move, Two Men and a Truck quoted us $*** (all inclusive) but were unavailable on the day of my move. I chose All My Sons because they told me they had morning availability that day (which they called later and told me they didn't after I had already put down a deposit) and because they quoted me a total cost (which I later found out only includes labor) of $***. In my opinion, this company is the epitome and definition of bait and switch. Don't buy it when they say they don't have "hidden fees", and press them for a true total cost estimate for the move including an estimate for all of the ancillary costs they tack on to the bill. When I tried to reason with the manager, I was heard out, and for that I respect him. However, the lack of awareness that you are basically shaking down small families who are new in town is unbelievable. The fees in my opinion are predatory; other reviewers have noted this, and my experience was no different. Obviously if this many people have had a problem you should steer clear. Even though they say they are a family oriented company, they are far from it. I will concede that I should have asked more questions, but they also should have been more transparent when giving out quotes initially. Lesson Learned... the hard way.
ESTIMATE MINIMAL CHARGE WAS GIVEN. FINAL CHARGE MUCH HIGHER AND WITH OVERLAPING COST AND TOTAL MISREPRESENTATION OF WHAT CHARGES WERE WITH OVERCHARGE!
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
FIRST THEY NEED TO REFUND ME- I FEEL THAT I HAVE BEEN TAKING ADVANTAGE. I HAVE SERVED MY COMMUNITY FOR SO MANY YEARS AND I THOUGHT I WAS HIRING A "LOCAL SERVICE", FOR ALL THE REVIEWS AD COMMENTS I HAVE READ THEY ARE DOING THIS TO MANY PEOPLE AND THEY NEED TO QUIT, I HAVE READ REVIEWS THAT MANY OTHER SENIOR CITIZENS HAVE BEEN TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF THIS TYPE OF BUSINESS PRACTICE/SCAM/MISQUOTED/OVERPRICED SERVICE. THERE HAS TO BE AN END TO THIS BUSINESS PRACTICE
Please accept this as our first response to the customer complaint filed. The customer name associated with this move does not match the name of the complainant. A review of the complaint and booking reveals that the pricing was amended to reduce the travel time from 3 hours to 2 hours; however, the hourly rate for the 2-man crew remained the same. The booking notes indicate that the complainant made contact with the branch to discuss pricing on 7/31/18, however, no further information was presented to support an additional change in pricing, based on the contact from Mr.. I would be happy to review any quote or estimate that the customer may have received, for consideration of a possible reduction. Please ask the customer to provide documentation concerning the quote that is referenced in the complaint, for further consideration. Thank you. Bobbie ***, Claims Manager
I reserved a date to have movers come to my apartment in Richmond Va last week and had to cancel due to a family emergency. When I called to cancel I let the rep know that the card that I used for the deposit had been deactivated because I misplaced it but my bank gave me a new card and I wanted the deposit to go back into that card. The rep told me they would not return my deposit because they needed to return it to the old card. I was obviously upset about that because I felt as though I handed them free money. Fast forward to this week I called them back to reschedule the move since they were not going to refund my money. They gave me a quote of 160 per hour for a two bedroom apartment. I agreed because I knew it wouldn?t take long to move a two bedroom apartment. At the time of the move I was on a job in St Louis and had my mother go over to my apartment to wait around until they were done. They arrived at 8:30am and arrived at my new home at 12:00pm. They hadn?t unloaded the truck yet but I got a call while at work quoting a balance of $1200.00. I was floored! $1200.00 for a two bedroom apartment move. I was utterly disgusted because this was not at all expecting an astronomical number such as that for a 2 bedroom apartment. I did not have that amount or even close because I expected a maximum of $600.00!! They left with my furniture still on the truck and refused to unload my furniture until I paid them $1200.00. It was horrible my mom cried and called every family member we could to loan us the money because again that amount was beyond what any decent human being would charge for a two bedroom apartment move. I was at work shaking and in tears because I didn?t know what to do. They didn?t care that they were robbing me! They just wanted the $1200.00. Thankfully my aunt was able to call them and pay. After they were paid they took hours to come back to my house. I have them my mothers phone number numerous times and they never called her to tell her when they would bring my furniture back! I called and kept being told a supervisor would call me but no one called. As of now, I still haven?t heard back. It?s 4:48pm and no word of where my stuff is. I am just drained and distraught at work miles and miles away from home. I cannot believe that this is legal. Please do not ever ever ever book this company to move you! They are crooks! Will rob you blind and not give a care in the world about how inhumane this is! BEWARE OF ALL MY SONS MOVERS!!!
All my sons moving company ruined the finish on our Yamaha upright piano and will not pay the full amount required to repair the piano.
All My Sons Moving moved our piano 4 blocks from one rental home to another. By the time they entered our Turrentine Home the damage to two f the piano legs, piano cover and back soundboard had already been done. We submitted a claim for $860 so that the repair could be done, restoring the value of the piano to its original factory finish. They will only pay $300 of that amount. Our piano was devaluated from $4000 to $100. We expected better service than we got.
I would like to know how personnel are trained to handle the moving of heavy furniture such as a piano. Do they undergo practice runs on wrapping furniture? Do they understand the value of the items they are moving? Could the Revdex.com give the company a rating based on the types of furniture a company specializes in moving. This team was totally clueless as to what went wrong. They didn't inspect the piano at all once they got it in the door. There should be better standards for moving to ensure the right people are handling a delicate job such as moving instruments. I want to give this company the lowest rating possible and warn others not to hire All My Sons in the El Paso area.
All My Sons Moving & Storage received a claim for damages to a piano and a missing bulletin board. The claim was evaluated based on the Carrier's legal liability of $.60 per pound, with a total weight of all items at 503 lbs. A settlement offer of $301.80 was extended to the customer. The offer was originally accepted and the customer signed the release for the settlement and check number *** was sent to the customer via USPS on 7/23/18. On 7/27/18 the customer contacted the claims department and advised that he was returning the check and refusing the settlement. The check was received back in the claims department on 8/7/18. On 8/20/18, the customer called back to the claims department and indicated he was accepting the offer and wanted the check to be remailed to his home. On 8/20/18, the check was resent to the customer and the claim is considered to be closed at this time.
Thank you for allowing us an opportunity to respond to this complaint.
Worst moving experience of my life. They cancelled an hour before the scheduled arrival time. This created a horrible scenario for me on that day , since the new homeowners were moving in. Out of a $2500. total move they only adjusted the bill by $300.
Moving services were inflated-a 4 hour move took 12 hours. My items damaged in the move are not being reimbursed properly.
I was initially quoted that my move on 9/23/2017 would take 2 hours over the phone, at a cost of approximately $400 total. Upon arriving, the movers stated that the move should actually take no longer than 4 hours, including the small amount of packing that we requested their assistance with. The actual time spent moving was just over 12.5 hours and most of the kitchen in our previous residence was not even packed or moved as instructed. This in my opinion was due to the movers not being prepared as they had 2 men of 3 actually working consistently while the team lead stood around doing nothing and didn't bring packing materials with them as we were assured that they would. The delay for packing materials alone took approximately an hour during which the movers took no action to move the boxes that were ready to be moved. While on the phone with All My Sons moving, I was informed that they were a company that was fully licensed, bonded and insured. I was never offered or informed of any additional moving insurance verbally-either over the phone or on site on the date of the move. During each step of the way, the representatives appeared to intentionally to push the conversation along as quickly as possible so as to avoid answering any questions that I had and to withhold incredibly important information. We were insured on site that the document we were signing (prior to any work was even done) was all discussed with us prior to the movers arriving and that we just needed to sign quickly so that we could start the move. We were pressured into not reading the contract that we were signing at the time by the movers who were impatient and incredibly inefficient. I would like to note again that the items listed in the contract we signed were never discussed with me prior to the move. The movers ended up charging us $2,000 more than the quote for 4 hours of work would have been because of their inefficiencies and lack of preparation. Part of these charges were also "overtime fees" that we were not once informed of until the truck arrived at our new location and the team refused to unload the truck until we paid the full amount of moving-which hadn't even been completed yet. This took another 1-1.5 hours due to the confusion of why the charges were so much on my part and the incredibly slow billing system on All My Son's part. During this time, a service elevator full of my incredibly expensive items were loaded into the service elevator and left unattended by the movers, leaving my belongings open to theft at any time.
In addition to the items listed above, several items of considerable value were damaged by the movers. To date, the highest amount that All My Sons has offered to settle our damage claim is $400 on over $4,650 worth of damaged items. Their process for compensation on damaged items is far from what I or any other consumer would expect when you are informed that the company is "fully insured". All My Sons never explained prior to our move how they would calculate any offers to settle a damage claim and as of now still haven't fully explained how they calculated their offers of $200 and then $400 respectively. I feel that since I had no part in my family heirlooms and expensive furniture being damaged that All My Sons is legally responsible for compensating me to repair or replace these items in full. As of today, they have delivered a nuisance offer which wouldn't cover even 10% of the damages they have caused. All My Sons practices business in a predatory, deceptive, and manipulative way and this must be stopped as it is unacceptable. They are actively ignoring the deceptive trade practices act.
I would like for all of my damaged items to be repaired or replaced at full value of $4650 as well as a refund for the additional $2000 of moving charges which were above and beyond the supposed "absolute maximum" cost that were quoted. I agree that All My Sons should be compensated for the work that was done which is why I am not requesting a full refund. I do however believe that because we had such an unbelieveably horrendous experience upon moving that we should not pay for All My Son's mistakes in planning, communication, and the like. I will include correspondence regarding the damaged items as well as photos of the damaged items to this complaint.
Received email correspondence from our customer who has indicated acceptance of $450 to settle her claim and $500 in refund of labor for the booking, to resolve service issues presented. A final settlement document is being drafted and upon receipt of executed agreement, payment will be issued to the customer. Bobbie Sue ***, Claims Manager
The customer has presented her claim for damages and an offer of $450 was made in December of 2017, in excess of the maximum valuation for the weight of the goods. No additional insurance had been purchased by the customer. In addition to the offer that has been extended, AMS has emailed the customer on 8/7/18 and advised that we will offer an additional $500 to offset the service concerns presented from the move. A reply from the customer is pending at this time.
I'm glad I read the reviews on this company before proceeding with an actual move. I initially contacted this company via an online quote request on 7/3/2018 - moving 1 BDRM apartment from Zip 44123 to Zip 44138. I made 2 attempts to return a call to the 1-800 number they left on my voicemail for a quote the morning of 7/5/2018 only to have the person answering their phone hang up on me twice after giving them the move from and to locations within Cuyahoga County. After reading the reviews I'm glad they did as I WILL NOT BE DOING BUSINESS WITH THEM!!!
The move started out ok, but after it took 2 hours from *** NC to*** NC and other 2 hours to move 8 pieces of furniture to ***, NC. This was for 3 movers!
This is normally a 10 minute drive at most from ***, NC to *** NC.
They did not discuss the other charges until the move had started, too late then.
other charge's included - travel time, packing material, etc. no matter how much was used, you get billed the full retail price - Full retail!
The movers were nice but moved like molasses, this was taking paid by the hour to the extreme this was for 3 movers. Broken pieces, lost pieces!
This move cost us over $600!
Lesson Learned!
