BEWARE False/dishonest sales pitches to obtain a sales agreement
UNWILLING to correct the problem created by movers
ORDERED do NOT post bad reviews
In April 2019 several moving companies were interviewed, I choose All My Sons because of Jenny Brigman the sales rep. Jenny was pleasant and reassuring when I asked questions about the care taken with my furniture. Jenny had a 3 ring binder with photos to show me HOW the company cares for the doorways; floors; and ESPECIALLY wrapping the furniture. Jenny STATED the packers/movers are specially trained on HOW to wrap the furniture for moving; do not worry and NO need for additional insuranceour guys are very good and careful with furniture. So I was sold on her presentation and agreed to use the company. The movers arrived May 2, 2019 and started to work. NEVER protecting the doorways; floors or the furniture. I called the company spoke with Jake Elliott -Operations Manager and shared my concerns. The movers corrected their mistakes and continued to pack and wrap furniture as fast as they could. Aaron lead mover damaged a large buffet consol Italian made piece of furniture by NOT removing the shelves and told me that they would NOT unwrap the piece to check it because it would be fine. The buffet was damaged !! Jake was notifed and emailed stating AMS would help to correct the issue.
LIST of ISSUES:
Other pieces of furniture were damaged.
The movers were NOT able to load ALL the furniture that was in the agreement.
We had to rent a UHaul Jake payed money towards the rental and sent 2 movers to load the UHaul
Jenny UNDER estimated the size of truck
A damage claim was submitted. All My Sons -Debora Anderson (Texas region Supervisor AMS Cust. Serv./Claims Dept) offered a check of around 200.XX -XXX.00 and NO more. Today Ms. Anderson stated after reviewing the claim/pictures and several emails she would NOT offer any more assistance in the damages and I could contact a lawyer.
All My Sons allows only 90 days to resolve claims and states in the paperwork NO disparaging remarks regarding AMS services on the internet or in a public forum will be permitted.
Ms. Anderson, as the Supervisor for Texas has the authority to make all the above named issues correct. Her attitude toward my concerns is not her problem. She will not return phone calls; therefore allowing the 90 day time clock to run out. Ms. Anderson is the gate keeper and money keeper who makes this company difficult to work with to resolve furniture claims.
BEWARE of All My Sons Moving....
Resolution-- Increase the offer to have the furniture repaired
Thank you for the feedback. Our sincere apologies for the issues that occurred. Our customer was issued a refund of $150.00 on 5-2-2019 for the UHAUL rental. A monetary offer was mailed to the customer based on the signed contractual agreement of $0.60 per pound per article. Our customer will receive an revised settlement agreement for the increased amount of $350.00 via email. Thank you for opportunity to respond.
I chose all my soms to load my truck in *** and to unload it in ***. They did a fairly decent job loading in *** but I drove my truck down they were supposed to be unloading the next day. I had a lot of plants on my truck. The next day they called me at 5 o'clock and told me they were not coming to unload my truck. They said they could not come for two more days!!! So there I was with a loaded truck and no way to unload it so they had me stuck between a rock and a hard Place. It was going to cost me $200 more for keeping the truck that much longer and they wouldn't even offer to pay for that. In addition they damaged several things one of which is irreplaceable. They were terrible to deal with because one hand didn't know what the other hand was doing I could not find out a main number to call like an administrative office to discuss the problems. I am now having to request a refund for a deposit because they charged me to $250 deposit. There was only supposed to be one. They did refund me one of them but I am having to dispute the transaction through the bank for the other one. If I could leave them no stars or a half a star I would have. I would never recommend dealing with either one of these offices because I could never speak to the same person nobody knew what was going on and to come up with a solution I finally had to just hire someone else to come and load my truck and had to fire the *** office
All my sons were hired and paid in full for the hours they demanded at the time of contract. They left before the time was up without completing the move for which they were hired. They left many items in the previous house and left without removing plastic wrapping. They did not place furniture in it's place rather left it in the hallways and floors. They left without letting us know that they were leaving, instead told us that they were going to pick up remaining items from the previous house. I fed them lunch and one of them asked for a sofa which I was planning to put in the basement, but I gave it to him for free.
My husband and I are senior citizens and served veterans and general public for forty years, we do not deserved to be treated and deceived in this manner. Please look in to this company's practices of operations so they do not cheat others. I did talk to the manager and he said he could not do any thing for another week, and we had to vacate the previous house as it was a rental home.
All My Sons Moving in Carrollton, TX misrepresented their services and sent an abusive employee to the jobsite.

I booked my move with All My Sons Moving in Carrollton, TX on 05/20/2019 and checked in at 7:30am the day of the move, 06/12/2019, to ask if my move could be done earlier as my out-of-state truck had arrived early. I was assured by Joseph at All Sons Moving that it could happen and it would be after 1:00pm. They would call me 30 minutes prior. He said he would call the crew right away.
Not only did the movers not show up early, they were late for the agreed upon start time of 5:00pm, as this was a labor only move into a UHaul storage facility. Because the crew arrived late, I and a friend of mine moved all of the small items into the storage unit ourselves. The unit is located in Plano, TX, not far from the headquarters for All My Sons Moving.
When the All My Sons Moving crew arrived, the driver, Gerren, smiled in a sarcastic way when I asked if all the furniture could be put in one storage unit and Gerren said "sometimes what customers want makes me laugh because they don't really know what they want and what they are asking for might not be what we do."
When I asked for clarification, Gerren stated that "You are the type of person movers wouldn't like because you are picky. You will be the type of person who will come into the unit and reorganize it and tell me where to put all the stuff". He continued to smirk and grin. I was shocked and upset by his comments. When I stated that this was not true and that we needed to get the paperwork signed and get started, Gerran said "You need to warn people that they can't joke and laugh around you. You need to tell them that upfront." Gerren stated "I guess someone can't have fun on the job."
Gerren did not work as hard as the other worker and was busy talking on the phone to his boss and asked me no less than three times for payment during the move, stating that he was supposed to get payment before they started work. He also said to his coworker that this was a "*** nightmare".
I feel the service was unprofessional, aggressive and abusive. I asked their corporate client center for a refund and they refused. No one at the branch level ever called me back when their client advocate Jessica *** told me they would.
I want a refund of my $474.81 and for the firm's President to be made aware of the issues in the firm. The webiste showed many other examples have been reported nationwide.
Thank you for the feedback. Our sincere apologies for the service issues and not receiving a phone call from the local office. Our customer care team will email our customer a settlement agreement in the amount of $100.00 to be refunded back to the card on file. Thank you for the opportunity to respond.
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The response I received from All My Sons Moving in Carrollton, TX for a reimbursement of $100.00 does not address what I spent for my move with their firm, nor the full reimbursement I requested and how terribly I was treated as a paying customer. I have turned down their offer.
To be told by their driver that "Most movers would not want to work with you.", defeats the purpose of their service, especially when I had just met the driver, am a female who needed their assistance and had, at the time, been moving myself for over an hour due to their lack of promptness. I am a fair and business-oriented individual working for one of the largest firms in my industry, so for these things to be said about me by their employee felt degrading, especially as a woman.
The $100.00 is more of an insult than accomplishing the goal of apologizing and makes the apology seem insincere. All My Sons must have too much business by utilizing the excellent reputation of the Dallas Cowboys as their "Official Mover", that they do not appear to be worried in the least bit about their own reputation based on the reality of their inept and insulting employees.
Please do not use this firm.
Thank you for the additional feedback and the opportunity to respond. We will offer our customer $50.00 over the initial amount ($100) for a total of $150.00 as a fair and final offer. The Settlement Release will be emailed to our customer.
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Again, the small raised amount of $150.00 total refund does not come close to what I spent with All My Sons and feels dismissive. They want me to stop and go away and that is not the point.
If any other customer-savvy business had realized an employee of theirs behaved the way I reported the All My Sons employee to have behaved, along with the scheduler who over-promised and under-delivered, they would quickly have refunded my costs and I would have received a call from their office with a sincere apology.
Neither happened with All My Sons, Carrollton, TX, which is, ironically, their headquarters location.
In comparison, I used a veteran-owned moving service in Tampa, FL to load my truck, and they did a phenomenal job, were accurate with the load so that very little moved during transport and were fair and honest with their charges. But most of all they treated me with respect.
All My Sons does not respect female customers from my experience. Period.
I reject their offer.
They were supposed to show up Saturday morning at 8 I got a call saying they were short a driver and I would be delayed. called them every 2 hours and they kept changing the time until they canceled at 515. Promised to be there promptly at 8 on Sunday morning At 9 when they still had not come I called and
was told they were coming in afternoon After I complained again about the delay they arrived at noon. Movers were nice and very polite but seemed very inexperienced. My husband had to show them how to disconnect things and suggested they remove doors and railing to get things up steps and thru doorways. They scratched the woodwork and scraped washer dryer and refrigerator
Their 3-person crew took almost twice as long to perform an apartment move for me than it should have taken. They also damaged several items.
I hired this company to move me from a small apartment at Post Addison Circle to another apartment in the building next door. I was fine with their quoted hourly rate, but I did not expect them to take nearly 6 hours to complete the move. One of their own employees acknowledged that the move took too long. They damaged several items. They took too long to pack up the truck. They charged me $135 for fuel to drive less than a quarter mile. They appropriated my moving supplies and carts without asking. When I tried to get them to refund some of the charges, they refused. They accused me of "theft of service" instead of working with me to reduce the charges. They charged me for a 3-person crew, but only 2 people were actually doing the work. They procrastinated and delayed. They asked me 3 times if I was taking my washer and dryer, which I had pulled out from the wall and disconnected. How much more obvious did I need to be? This has been the absolute worst moving experience that I have ever had. I don't dispute paying them. I dispute the amount of time that they spent, and I think they owe me money for the items that they damaged, and the fact that they used my moving supplies and carts without asking.
I want at least 50% of the total charges to be refunded for the extra time that they took and reimbursement for the damaged goods.
Thank you for the feedback. Our sincere apologies for the damages and service issues. Our customer has been emailed a claim form to address the damages and to provide their feedback regarding any service issues. Once the claim form is received by our claims team the photos and information will be evaluated and processed. Thank you for the opportunity to respond.
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
They're ignoring the amount of time WASTED by their so-called 3-person crew. I will fill out the damage claim form but the amount of time that this move took was way over what it should have been. The last time I moved, it was done within 3 hours and costed me far less. I got a better quality service too. When I tried to address the amount of time it took for the move, the owner and his employees were rude and totally closed off to the idea that the moving crew wasted a lot of time. I absolutely will not bend on that point. THEY WASTED A LOT OF TIME that I ended up having to pay for! I will not rest until I get back at least half of what I paid. That is absolutely NOT NEGOTIABLE. If I must, I will take this company to court over the charges.
Thank you for the additional feedback and the opportunity to respond. We will offer our customer a 20% refund from the total charge of $1,268.90 in amount of $253.78. A release will be sent to the customer via email to begin the process.
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
I was sent a form to sign so that the business could issue a partial refund. I approved it.
I had a great experience with my move from Fort Worth to San Antonio TX. Craig, Kendol, and Eric were top-notch. I would definitely use them again for my next move. THANK YOU!
Absolutely awful. Hidden charges (14% fuel surcharge for the time the truck is PARKED), extra hour for them to get to you. On top of that, I asked after hours pick up, they took my money, then said they don't have it available, then after going back and forth they agreed to about 6:00PM. 6:30pm I call them- they don't know when they'll get here and it may be later than 8:30.
The company gave me a price based on 5 movers, sent 4. Said they would adjust the price, didn't.
Damage my home said they would repair it and didn't.
I received a contract to move home that included the labor for 5 movers. 4 movers showed up to home. I contacted the operations manager he said " let the movers begin a move we will work on a billing adjustment." The movers completed the first load and at the next home brought up the bill it was not adjusted. I called the operations manager he didn't deny he lied he just said he wouldn't adjust bill, I pay or don't get my stuff. He claimed it would be done I time at 830 PM it finished at 935 PM. They also starched my hardwood floors in 2 places, damaged my wall badly, and broke a picture frame glass removed the glass the placed it in a box without telling me.
I would like 20% of the $3,963 refunded since 80% of the workforce showed up and the move was not completed on time. If the proper amount had showed it would have been completed on time. I would have like some cost recouped for the repairs on the wall and the hardwood floors. I can provide pictures of the damage.
AVOID this company! Quoted me $*** and once they had my furniture on the truck, the total had increased almost 100%. It was a short, local, 1 bedroom move and set me back $***. They weren’t on time, forgot to load items I had to go back and get, and didn’t bring any tools to take furniture apart so they had to waste time begging a maintenance man for pliers.
Truck sent was too small. Furniture was stacked like a jigsaw puzzle and had so much damage. They wanted to leave everything in the garage. To top it off one of the employees stole some expensive jewelry from me. Thankfully the police arrested him and got most of it back.
I deposit for a service then immediately cancelled.
I deposit for the service on June 20. The service was canceled 15 minutes after wards. I confirmed it was canceled. Still charged my account. Refusing to credit me for changing my mind.
Refund of 500.00
Please remove this complaint as she did not receive moving services for our Dallas, TX location.
I have had a resolution to the case # XXXXXXXX.
I filed a complaint with the corporate office.
I didn't have the address of the local office at the time.
I have been assured by the company that I am entitled to a refund
Please do NOT use this company. I urge you to take a moment to read the posts on their *** made by customers despite all the fabulous reviews written here.
https://www.***.com/pg/AllMySons/posts/?ref=page_internal
I was charged more than double the price I was quoted, charged $300 in hidden fees, my TV was broken, I watched one of the movers stand on my tiny *** bedside table (this is the same mover who asked me for my personal contact info because he "would like to be friends"). My theater chairs were wrapped in nothing but tape, which ruined the upholstery, the walls at the apartment I moved out of were scratched and dented, objects were shoved into boxes and drawers without my permission, and the movers had the gall to pull a plastic cup out of my sink that they then proceeded to use as a doorstop.
This company will scam you out of your money and will then offer to "reimburse half an hour of the travel time to credit your account $84".
I wish the KSDK news item about this company on June 24th had occurred prior to my hiring them for our move on June 3rd. The company would never have been hired, our stress level wouldn?t be astronomically high, our furniture wouldn?t be damaged, and they wouldn?t have doubled their estimate to move our belongings all of 16 miles.
Of the moving companies called and estimates received, All My Sons was a fair price. I previously boxed up everything so they just had to move the boxes from the garage and furniture. They said it would take two days to move us, and the dates were set for June 3-4 weeks in advance. I called the previous Friday to confirm that they were coming since we did not receive a call from them. I signed enough pages to rival a new mortgage, and they began wrapping all my furniture. We watched them successfully move things to their truck ? all seeming to be above board. Moving things into the house was also done cautiously.
The team was to return on the 4th with only half the house belongings packed the first day. For whatever reason they weren?t scheduled to arrive until 3 pm. My husband complained that we were contracted to have 4 men as per the signed contract, but they only sent 3. When he refused to sign the contract, the manager agreed to adjust the contract. But, after the contract was adjusted and the mover brought it back to my husband It still said four men but they charged us the rate for three people. The manager would not change the contract to reflect 3 people. We were told to sign that or send the movers home. Five hours later there was still stuff to be moved. The communication between the men with the truck and their administrative staff appeared to be the problem, each blaming the other for not being informed of what we needed.
Numerous calls to them were always received with the excuse that either they didn?t know we still needed things moved or we?ll get right back with us, which didn?t happen. Eventually, a team of men returned three days later to finish what had been started 5 days earlier.
Their policy to have customers check for an empty truck once all has been removed was done once out of the three days. It wasn?t a policy followed for a previous client either. We ended up with someone else?s short TV stand missing two of its four wheels that was just placed in our garage.
Once we began to arrange our furniture we realized that despite the huge amount of shrink wrap used on our pieces, damage was obvious on many pieces. The backside of our less than a year old leather couch and chair are marred in numerous places. A light weight shelf has a chunk taken off the front. A newly acquired glider/rocker has multiple mars and a gouge in the top of one arm and a button was pulled off of the seat cushion. The shrink wrap should have been foam! The way the furniture was shoved and stacked on the truck apparently was not as cautiously manipulated as one would hope or expect.
Then there are the 3 pieces of wood with screws in each end that were part of one of the beds that were not included in the reassembling.
This is NOT what we paid close to $5000.00 for, which was much higher than their estimate. Then to have the movers request tips was absolutely outrageous!!
I don't expect anything from this company. I just want people to be very aware of this company located in St. Louis, MO.
If I could give less than 1 star I would. The entire experience was absolutely awful. It started with them being and hour and 15 minutes late to come and start the move. I was told they would arrive at 8:30am and they did not show up until a little after 9:45am. Moving is already stressful and I had other things to do and handle this day as well. I was so stressed out and annoyed but I tried to let it go.
Secondly at the time I lived on the third floor with no elevator. I made that VERY CLEAR when booking to let the movers know because it is not an easy move and it is extra exhausting. Within 5 minutes it was complaining. I also tried to let this go...
After getting there late they decided that to park in the small back lot (with the 26 foot truck) that they would back up over the curb at CVS and back into the building lot... (more on this shortly) so after moving from 10am until 1:30pm mind you this is a 1 bedroom apartment with honestly not too much to move everything was loaded they went to get in the truck and told me constantly that they could not get out. That we would have to wait, etc. I had the ATT guy coming to set up everything figuring ya know everything would go smooth. I had to call my Fiance and he had to leave work early in order to help with that side at our new place. AFTER WAITING OVER AN HOUR...YEAH AN HOUR... someone in the group finally took charge and got the truck out mind you I was supposed to pay hourly and for gas. I called the manager and thankfully got the time off but still how upsetting. I am a pretty strong person but making me on the point of tears is unacceptable.
Once arriving and finally getting to unloading everything it was constant questions of where to put the boxes even though THEY WERE ALL LABELED OF WHAT ROOM TO GO INTO AND WHAT WAS IN THE BOX. It was extremely annoying that I couldn't handle the other things around me that I needed to do.
Finally at the end of the day AKA 6:45pm the terrible experience was over. When talking to the manager the 'clock' was stopped at 4 so I didn't pay for the last almost 2 hours, but truly it was just a terrible experience. I still had to pay for the gas and we ended up paying over 1,100 dollars for AN AWFUL experience. NEVER again would I go here. I would rather move the boxes by hand and walk them to the new destination then deal with this again.
OH.... and the kicker is the one guy was smoking his cigarettes and then decided to walk into the moving truck while doing so. My fiance and I are not smokers this was just beyond upsetting.
That is all.
I must start this review by stating I am never one to complain, I am a pretty easy going consumer and understand that mistakes happen. If I do file a complaint or submit a review, it is solely for the purpose of protecting other consumers - in hopes to save someone else the headache that I have endured.
Myself and my boyfriend were purchasing our first home. We were tossing around the idea of using a moving company, but were on the fence. Due to reasons that I will explain later, we decided on using a moving company. I must state, we were first time home buyers and had ZERO experience on moving companies. All moves I had ever been a part of, either moving with my own family or friends, had always been completed on our own by simply renting a moving truck. This is the reason that we decided to contact a PROFESSIONAL company to assist us in our move. We would be moving from a two bedroom slab home, NO BASEMENT.
Our closing date was approaching, but had the possibility of being moved earlier. Once the final closing date was set in stone, I only had about a week to book a moving company. Our closing/moving date landed on a Friday and all of our family/friends worked so this added another reason why we really needed a moving company. I began calling around, and became very nervous when 3 companies I called were completely booked. I began to worry that I was going to be unable to find a moving company at all. I finally found a company, ***, and booked with them. They were professional and provided me an actual printed "quote" for my moving date.
I shared the quote with some friends of mine, and they seemed concerned at the price. At this time "All My Sons" was recommended to me. I decided to give them a call and see if their prices were comparable or better. My friend had moved with them some years prior, and said they were great and the movers moved quickly - which in turn decreased her cost.
I am not good with names, so I don't have the name of whomever I spoke with to book the moving day. He was friendly. They had an opening for the day I needed. We went through inventory of my home, and he suggested I used 3 movers. With 3 movers it would be $169.00/hour, 2 hour minimum, and a base 1 hour charge for travel. My booking with *** was well over $200+/hour, so this price seemed too good to be true. I even specifically asked "Thats it? You guys only charge the hourly rate?" He responded "Yep!". Again, I have never used a moving company before so I was seeking PROFESSIONAL assistance with my move. I had no idea to ask for additional fees or anything. With that drop in an hourly rate, of course I booked the move and canceled my reservation with ***. They requested a $100.00 deposit that would be applied to my final bill. Fair enough. The move was booked. I never received an actual printout or "quote" - They never even really actually stated their "estimated" time for the move. Should I have asked? Probably, but again, first time movers.
The day before our move - I receive a phone call followed by an e-mail from All My Sons - confirming the move. I did not read this e-mail in it entirety - but I SHOULD have. I noticed it stated there was going to be a 14% fuel charge. It stated "% based off of total labor & travel charges only". A little irritated that this was not disclosed when booking the move, but I decided to brush it off - at-least I was getting a good hourly rate right!?
They estimated the movers to arrive at my home between 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM.
The day of the move arrived, and I was contacted about 10:00 AM asking if I wanted them to come early, as their AM appointment had canceled. I declined, as we weren't ready to start and I was actually at work at the time. No big deal, they still arrived between the times I was told. I believe they arrived right at 3:00 PM. A large truck pulls up, but only two movers get out. A little confused, as I was originally quoted 3 movers. One mover was obviously the "leader" and introduced himself (I will call him Mover A) and the other mover introduced himself as well (Mover B). I walked them through the home and showed them an overview of what they were going to be moving. We had decided prior to booking the move, that we would only be having the movers move our furniture ONLY. We moved all other boxes and small furniture ourselves.
I informed Mover A that I was expecting 3 movers, not two. They both looked at each other, and began ranting. Apparently they were expecting a 3rd mover to assist them as well. Mover A ended up on the phone at some point. There was some additional complaints that their manager told them he had "no idea" there was supposed to be 3 movers. My hourly rate dropped to $149.00/hour. Once we got that out of the way, we moved onto business. The movers started our time at 3:00 PM. Mover A comes up to me with a tablet, and needs me to sign some disclosures, terms and agreements. I was confused as to why this would not be given to me prior to the moving day, as now I am standing here signing pages and pages of disclosures while my moving time and money ticks away. Annoyed, but I skim them over, sign by tapping with my finger, and quickly finish so we can get started. I admit I should have read these more in depth, BUT - my time was already going.
Overall the movers were, okay. I think they could have had a little more pep in their step, but overall they did fine. They were polite, "yes Ma'am", "Thank you Ma'am", etc. They were offered water and Powerade during the move. They asked for just about every item "do you want to wrap this?" This should have been our first clue, but we simply thought it was all a part of the process. We had them wrap just about everything, although if given the choice knowing we were going to be charged for it, we would have never authorized it.
The truck gets packed and they close the doors and get into the truck. Myself and my boyfriend are really confused, as they never once said "Okay! ready to roll!" or discussed the next steps. I walked over to the truck and said "Do you want the address?" assuming they would put it into their GPS. They declined and said they would follow me. Originally I was going to have them stop at my parents house, less than a mile away for a treadmill, but loading took longer than expected so I decided against it but did not mention that to the movers, especially since they quickly hopped into the truck cab, I really didn't get a chance to let them know.
So we drive to the new house, only about a 15 minute drive from Saint Charles to Saint Peters. They exit the truck and are confused. This is my fault, as I did not explain that we were not completing the pit stop at my parents home any more, but again, they never really communicated that they were finished packing everything up - and jumped into the truck before I could even explain. They were kind, but "annoyed" as they said they were going to stop to get lunch and cigarettes. Even though their service was just "okay" - I offered to order them a pizza, and my boyfriend offered to run to the gas station for cigarettes. They were working somewhat hard. They were appreciative. I ordered the pizza and was ready to get to work. Mover A approached me again with the same tablet as before - only this time with my total.....$1,200.00+! Talk about sticker shock. That means with my $100.00 deposit, my move cost over $1,300.00, approaching $1,400.00. To move a TWO BEDROOM SLAB HOME. I was fuming at this point. Mover A sensed my frustration and even stated "this happens at every single move we do."
Obviously I was not the first, and I don't think I will be the last. I had the hourly charge (dropped to $149.00 due to only having 2 movers), the 14% fuel charge and packing materials. Two fees that were NOT explained to me when booking the move, even though I asked. I felt that when I booked the move, I was simply told what I wanted to hear to book the move.
Moving is stressful - weather it be 15 minutes down the road, or hundreds of miles away. That is the reason people reach out to, and again I stress, PROFESSIONALS, to make their move easier. I was lied to. I felt totally bamboozled.
Mover A offered to get his manager on the phone, and I said "yes please." His manager answered and I explained that when I booked the move, I was never told about these additional fees. The manager, whomever it was as I don't remember his name, COULD CARE LESS. He had no intentions of helping me, and when I stated that I was never told I would be paying packing materials and that I thought they were just included in the hourly rate he said "well... they put your mattress in a bag didn't they?" YES BUT I DIDN'T KNOW I WOULD BE CHARGED $50 FOR A PLASTIC BAG!
Beyond frustrated at this point, I just handed the phone back to Mover A and swiped my card. Its upsetting when you are expecting a $700 move, then when some things go wrong, adjusting your thinking to a $800.00 move, but $1,300+!? That is ROBBERY! Not to mention, at this point I have no choice but to pay, they were not unloading my items until I did. Basically holding my personal possessions as collateral. Once I swiped and signed, I walked away in tears.
The two movers seemed empathetic. They could sense the frustration and I believe that they felt bad, but their hands are tied. They complained about the company, and stated that the entire staff at the office all had been there less than a month, and that this is a very very common occurrence. They both stated they were frustrated with it as well.
The move continued. As they were unloading, both movers were taking personal calls on their hands free headsets. While I probably would not have minded this while packing the truck because it takes less directing, but unpacking takes a lot more directing and the personal calls were a bit distracting. I didn't want to hear about their Friday night date plans with their *** subscription while trying to direct them with a very expensive family heirloom curio cabinet in their hands.
they finished at about 8:30 PM.
The next day was a Saturday, but I had only received a receipt in my e-mail for the $100.00 deposit. The e-mail had a return e-mail address for a Michael F. I replied and requested a full copy of my final receipt.
Monday morning rolls around, and its about 12:00 PM and I still have not received my final receipt. I decided to give them a call, as while I was stewing over the weekend, I wanted to review the disclosures that I had signed the day of my move. I also had time to review the e-mail I received the day before more in depth. It did state that I would pay for packing materials, but also stated that I would be given a list of pricing for the packing materials prior to the start of the move - never saw a price list. Maybe it was in the disclosures? I am unsure as I called and verbally asked, and e-mailed twice in writing requesting copies and I still never received them. I wanted to do my due diligence and take the blame if the disclosures did in fact hold the information. At this point, because I had requested but not received, leads me to believe there are no copies. I planned to call once I was able to review, and discuss my displeasure with the company in an adult manner.
I gave up after e-mail #2 went ignored, and contacted my credit card company. They are disputing the charge on my card - in hopes that a credit can be given to me and I will hopefully end up paying what was quoted to me verbally on the phone the day I booked the move - $169/hour with a 2 hour minimum and a base 1 hour travel fee.
I should have done better research, but being a first time home buyer, and this being the first time I had used a moving company, I trusted in the professionals to guide me. After the move I found countless negative complaints and discovered they are not accredited with the Revdex.com. I have learned my lesson, and I hope my review can help other consumers to stay away, or at least ask more questions and be more informed when working with this company.
They truly don't deserve any stars. I felt compelled to write a review after seeing a local report about another customer of theirs on the local news yesterday. I used All My Sons to move a few years ago and they destroyed my furniture and my new front door ended up being full of dents in the process. I was told that my bookshelf was cheap and that it wasn't meant to be moved, although it had been moved before. My couch and mattresses were filthy when they came out of the truck (black marks that I still haven't been able to get out!!). I still find things that they scratched, scuffed, or cracked along the way, but I have no recourse. They showed up over 3 hours late, full of excuses. I contracted and paid for wardrobe boxes to move my clothes which were never brought and I ended up having to move my clothes myself in my personal vehicle along with many other items. They sent two guys, one ended up with an "injury" and could no longer help with the move. It was almost 8 hours later that they wrapped up the job. The leader of the group tried to do some shady discounting, saying that his bosses would never know the difference. It was a horrendous experience and I hope that no one ever has to go through that!!
That business is a scam. Charged over 1400 to move 1 mile down the road and they never took anything apart. We moved most of our equipment. They seemed lost and the kids were inexperienced. Called to talk to business but they began to argue and took up for their business. Never never use this company
I was told they could make the move fast /therefore cheaply even with the $159 rate per hr.. However, they were very slow.
Events leading up to the June 10 move...
This move are all started with a quote I got from their quote specialist. He told me he could it for $159.00. With a $100 deposit in advance. It seemed reasonable To me since most of the others were quoting $75 to $95/hr. $159 \2 = 79.50/hr. 2 or 3 days later I got a written quote. They were quoting me $159 per hour, not $159 total.
I called back and told them to cancel, I told them no one in Dallas charges that much per hour!
Then someone, maybe Joe call me and told me for that $159/hr, I would get 3 strong professional bonded movers that could do the job much faster and more efficient than those other places. I took the bate. He led me to believe he could do it fast, when in reality, the guys he sent were really slow. I got one older guy ( on video ) one young beginner, he told me it was his first day and only one seasoned employee. They were so slow, that after 6 hours, And far more than I would've had to pay with other movers, I just had them unload the truck into my new apartment and not put anything away.
$1400 including the deposit just to do that!
I figure had they sent out 3 young pros, they could have done the job at least 1-1/2 hrs faster. $238 credit.
Thank you for the feedback regarding the relocation performed on 6/10/19. Our apologies for the length of time it took to complete the relocation. After reviewing the details of the job, we can justify a one hour labor refund in the amount of $159.00 to resolve the matter. An email will be sent to our customer to authorize the refund back on the credit card ending in 1485.
Thank you for the opportunity to respond.
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
Being diabetic and other health problems (Not handling stress well) I just want this matter closed. I started to not even complain even tho I was told they could do the job fast. I should have requested what they told me in writing........
This company is a disaster and the manager is incompetent so if you're thinking about getting movers, save yourself the trouble and go with a different company. We had a move scheduled between the hours of 12pm-3pm and when 430 came around, we called to inquire about a discount for the inconvenience. The manager then canceled on us instead of simply denying a discount. We were hung up on multiple times while trying to figure out why they left us stranded and we were talked down to and never given an answer as to why they cancelled. I would not recommend this company to anyone under any circumstance. Poor customer service and weak minded men running the "business"..
