They are not giving any explanation for any termination. They charged 2 times for yearly subscription. Company terminated account without any information and not giving 2nd charge which is not valid transaction.
Sinemia terminated annual subscription at start of month 6 due to alleged fraud / violation of ToS, but no fraud / ToS violation occurred.
I signed up and prepaid for a 12 month subscription to Sinemia's movie service (3 movies per month). Upon first attempt to use the service in month 6th, I was unable to do so and was directed to check their website. I checked my account on their website and found a form statement that my account was terminated due to fraud / violation of the terms of service. I have not violated the terms of service or committed fraud. When I contacted them to determine what happened and get my account reinstated so that I can use the service I paid for, they stated that they cannot explain why their system terminated my account. They are unable to explain what fraud or violation occurred and are refusing to reinstate the account.
Upon searching the internet, hundreds of members are currently experiencing the same issue - account terminated to due fraud / ToS violations with no explanation given.
The resolution I am seeking is reinstatement of my account so that I can use the remaining months of service (months 6 through months 12) per the terms of the service when I signed up (3 movies per month).

This response is the same form response that the website and their customer service sends. It does not explain why they terminated the account wrongfully, nor does it offer an actual resolution. Accepting their offer is an admission of wrong doing (violating their terms, which I havent) and only offers a refund of the difference between what I paid and the FULL retail price of each movie ticket, not a prorated refund of the 7 out of 12 months of service that I did not receive nor the gift cards that were purchased to pay their added fees. This response is basically like the police telling you that you broke the law, but not telling you what law you broke. This company is running a scam and terminating accounts of people that use the service they pay for. Unacceptable.
I need to be refunded for all the times I haven't been able to use the service and I need fees to be reversed for the app being faulty.
While I'm waiting to be refunded for the cost of the tickets I've had to pay for outright because the app was faulty, at no charge I would like to receive a Sinemia card to use in person and avoid the faulty app issue in the future. In addition, I need the fee to be removed from my account because the application wouldn't let me check-in; it seems like a server issue and I can not use my account until it's been removed. I didn't get a warning, the app says I have to pay $16.75. As well, I need to be refunded for the past month. My account has been frozen and I haven't been able to use it since seeing the early release of Alita Battle Angel on February 13th.

Sinemia has terminated my account with evidence showing I violated terms of service
Sinemia has terminated my account due to "membership use that violates the terms of service". I have contacted the company many times and the refuse to respond back to my inquires. They give no evidence showing how my account violated the terms of service but instead list a generic list of examples that would result in termination, no of which I violated. This comes after I had locked in an annual membership and showing my transaction history my expenses are - $100.30 while Payments are + $126.47; showing that Sinemia suspiciously cancelled my account when it came close to exceeding what I paid into my membership. This is completely fraudulent violations of Sinemia terms of service on Sinemia's own part; they have in fact violated their own terms of service by cancelling my account while I was a member who was in full good faith following all rules of the TOS and never occurred a violation. This is a severe fraudulent and negligence upon Sinemia's own part.

I've asked for an explanation to WHY my account was terminated multiples times but no explanation or response at all has been given. So now, you finally provide a response, which is probably just a generic response, which explains nothing? Can you please explain what terms of service I violated for the millionth time? No, you can't, because I didn't violate any TOS; the only ones that have violated the TOS are you yourselves. I have looked at the TOS and I have NOT violated any of them. Please respond back when you actually have some evidence. Your adjusted refund is fraudulent; I want a refund for the months of unused service, not the balance between tickets you reimbursed me for and actual ticket prices. I'm so unhappy with this service, and am glad I'm not alone, along with 100's or maybe 1000's of other users you have also scammed.
My annual membership has been cancelled without explaining why and I haven't received a refund for the remaining 9 months of the membership.
Got their annual membership and paid $107.88 for it on December 22. Tried buying a ticket on March 17th and got a notification that my membership had been cancelled due to fraudulent activity. My account was terminated and I cannot speak to anyone for explanation. They only provide scripted responses from a generic email address and Twitter
My account was terminated with no notification until I went to the point of purchase. The notification, only available after trying to use service (no email and not available in app, only on website). I contacted the company via email and waited 4 days and did not receive a response. I contacted the company via Twitter DM and received a scripted response that basically says we can't give you anymore information. There is no method to speak/contact an actual person.

This is the exact same response I got earlier, the first repo de I received. They have ignored any other correspondence for more information. They give ABSOLUTELY no way to speak with a person, to dispute the accusation, etc. They give a canned response. I also bought gift cards and ***'t get an answer as to my reimbursement for them. Customer service does not consist of simply using boilerplate language. They won't tell you What actually caused the termination of your account? They won't even provide a phone number. Simply unacceptable! It is a scam!!
Lack of response when trying to resolve a billing issue
There was an issue with my name on my Sinemia account and I was trying to correct it online but was not able to do so after multiple events. Sinemia then asked me to provide ID verification which I did but the name on my ID didnt match the name on the account exactly and my account was flagged for termination. I have contact Sinemia multiple times via email, tweet & twitter DM but have only received one response that they will look at it almost 2 weeks ago. If they do want to cancel my account, I completely understand, but I have paid for an annual membership and if they do terminate my account, I would like credit for the amount that I have not used their service. Please help!

I am aware of the issue here and understand Sinemia's decision to terminate my account as my ID did not match the preferred name that I had used when I created the account (instead of my legal name). What I am looking for is a partial refund of the annual membership fees that I paid for the 7-8 months that I did not use the service. I will be happy to get on a call to resolve this, but despite multiple attempts to reach Sinemia, I have not received a response.

as of 03/16/2019 Sinemia canceled my account without soecific reason and when ask why, they refuse to tell me why.
I purchase a service and refuse to honor it.

This is an automated computer response that is a lie because no fraud was committed. I have attempted numerous time to ask what fraud was committed without getting response.
also the refund you are offering is not acceptable. I purchased a month to month subscription 1 year in advance. I want a pro ratted refund of the month I used your service. you are offering what you spend. the cost of your business does not concern me the least. I shouldn't have to pay for your oversight of business accountability.

Terrible, fraudulent company. Changes the terms of use for members constantly. Added fees (that were not in the original terms), then requires identification, then charges more fees if you forget to check-in / suspends your account. Customer service is non-existent and impossible to reach.

It was a decent service until they just cancelled my account with no reason and no refund.
Sinemia has issued two holds on my account for not checking into a movie, and treated me as a delinquent, when I have checked into the movies and watched them fully. I've watched perhaps a dozen movies through Sinemia and have been constantly frustrated by unintentional and possibly intentional barriers to me using their subscription service.
Their support system doesn't comprehend the messages I send them and issue canned responses that do not address the issue. I've requested that they cancel my subscription, and they ignored the request.
Sinemia is by far the worst and most shiesty company I have ever interacted with. If you are thinking about buying this subscription service, don't. I switched to Sinemia after Moviepass *** going downhill thinking Sinemia couldn't be worse, but I was terribly wrong. Sinemia randomly canceled my subscription because "the system has detected examples of your membership use that violates the terms of service," which made no sense because I have only ever used the service to watch movies and have always checked into the theatre. When I contacted Sinemia to find out why they terminated my account they said "We see that your account's been terminated by the system automatically. Unfortunately we cannot provide any further details as we do not have access to such information." They terminated my $216 annual subscription (not including their abundance of hidden fees and my physical card cost) after 4 months with no real explantation whatsoever. And to make things worse, I was only credited $31. Sinemia's customer service is horrible and they take multiple days to get back to you. Their app is extremely clunky and it's navigation is illogical. The check in system needs to be reworked. I really wish I could say one positive thing about Sinemia, but I honestly ***'t think of one. DO NOT get suckered into this service. Do yourself a favor go with another movie subscription service. Sinemia is not worth the stress.

If possible I would have given 0 stars. Sinemia is a big fruad and total BS company. I got the membership in Dec 2018 and paid $107.88 upfront. My plan included 3 movies per month. I regularly used to check in for every movie. Then they began charging $2.80 for each movie which is again a complete BS. They never said they will charge $2.80 for every movie. Also I paid $10 extra so that I *** use my sinemia account immediately. I never shared the subscription or used the card inappropriately. I even dutifully sent them photos of my government ID when they requested it - and the photos were approved. Never once did Sinemia cite any problem at all with my use of the service. But today my account was terminated for completely unexplained "fraudulent activity," and Sinemia now wants to charge me FULL PRICE for every single ticket purchased with the service movie tickets I would have never purchased in the first place if I didn't have the Sinemia subscription. I paid for this service and went through all their increasingly-annoying requirements because I'm on a budget but love movies. Now, instead of saving money, Sinemia is ripping me off for hundreds of dollars. They are terrible. Stay away!
Horrible company. They charge you the entire year and disregard any gift cards. Then they will shut off your account and not let you use it. How *** they still be in business? This company needs to be closed down. I have never been taken advantage of as this company has done to me.

I have been using Sinemia for last 3 months. I paid for 1 year service. today, my account is terminated citing fradulent/suspicious use. I have not misused the service or did any fraudulent activity. When I reached out to support team, they refuse to give a valid reason. the service allows me to watch 3 movies per month. I have watched 7 movies so far. now, they are charging for all the 7 movies before refunding remaining amount. This is unacceptable as I wouldn't have watched 7 movies if I didn't have Sinemia and I am losing money. I feel like Sinemia is terminating accounts of customers who use they service regularly. it costs them to maintain such accounts and they are terminating those accounts without any explanation

this is a generic template message and not addressed to me personally for my complaint. They still say the system automatically terminated the account. they haven't provided any proof of fraud activity. I would like to know the specific transactions of the usage which are termed as fraud by your system
They just cancelled my membership for so reason whatsoever. They said there was fraudulent use. Not true since I did everything correctly including always checking in before movies. I basically only used two theatres and never did anything wrong. I have sent them several emails but there is no answer. They figured they were losing money on me so they just cut me off with no reason. Shame on Sinemia. Wish I could give 0 stars. Please stay away from Sinemia because they will rip you off too.
NO STARS...Terrible business! They STOLE my $360 membership fee after 2 months by terminating my membership based on fraudulent activity detected by their "automated" system. Only it was conveniently terminated after the number of movies I saw (20) after 2 1/2 months of an annual membership cost them more than the $360 I paid. Now they say they ***'t refund me the remaining 9 months because they are charging FULL PRICE for the movies I already saw so there is nothing left. I also bought a $100 gift certificate from them to use to pay all the additional fees they charge, but don't advertise, and the WON'T refund that either! This is the WORST experience I have ever had with a company!!

The service is working again currently but for several weeks it did not work and I was not reimbursed for that time. I lost a month's worth of credits because I was unable to utilize my account for weeks at at time. Saying that it works now in no way addresses my complaint.
