Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: This contract DOES NOT differentiate between Freon leaks due to poor connections or weak gaskets, and Freon leaks due to MAJOR COMPONENT FAILURE. It is understandable that Freon leaks due to poor connections and weak gaskets are not covered. BUT, with modern A/C units that ARE NOT DESIGNED TO LEAK FREON FOR ANY REASON, Freon leakage is a first major sign that there is SERIOUS COMPONENT FAILURE! By excluding any and all Freon leaks as reason to deny a claim, Select Home Warranty are AVOIDING/ESCAPING their legal responsibility for warranty coverage of any component failure that would explain/ account for this Freon leakage. That is, they are making up an EXCUSE to not cover a repair that they would otherwise be legally responsible for repairing. Freon leakage DUE TO A COMPONENT FAILURE DOES NOT mean there is a Freon leak, IT MEANS THAT SOMETHING ELSE IS BROKEN IN THE A/C! And this "something else" IS SOMETHING THAT SELECT HOME WARRANTY IS LEGALLY RESONSIBLE FOR REPAIRING! In these modern A/C units, Freon leakage is a SYMPTOM of dysfunction, NOT an explanation for this dysfunction! Relying on this contrived "excuse" to deny my claim raises SERIOUS QUESTIONS as to the integrity and veracity of this company as a home warranty provider. If I were a cynical person, I would have to wonder if this were not some sort of intentional loop-hole built into the contract to allow easy denial of expensive repairs for which a home warranty provider would otherwise be legally liable for this expense. I am rejecting this response because:I spoke to the technician and he informed me the heat exchanger has rust, but not damaged He also sent me an e-mail stating the same thing I cannot provide maintenance records because we recently purchased the home Select offered me $100---we paid $to the technician they sent outI believe the twist they are putting on the issue is unethical and dishonest Regards,
Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:Select Home Warranty was not up front in this process They were dishonest and did not satisfy their end of our contractI cancelled my policy because I don't want to do business with a company I can't trust or who has as poor of a level of customer service as they doIn a country where we have as many options as we do for doing business, there is no reason to continue to do business with a company that does not pay its contractors and is dishonest with its customersHaving spoken several times with the technician who they sent to service my a/c, I now understand that select home warranty is a grand money making scheme - taking peoples' money with no intention of finding a viable solution when the things they supposedly cover need coverageTheir "max coverage allowance" involved giving me $less than I paid them in the first place for my home warrantyI should have just kept my money to begin withSelect Home Warranty still owes me over $ Regards, [redacted] ***
Per section of the customers warranty agreement they have been approved for the maximum allowance of $towards their claim which was increased from the original $No additional funds due at this time
Unfortunately, the customer is not eligible for a full refundThe customer has been on a monthly contract with us and are only eligible to be refunded their last months installmentIn addition, since having a contract with us the customer has filed claims and technicians were dispatched for both claimsAt this time they are not eligible for a full refundFull refunds are processed within the first days of purchase and since this contract was purchased in it makes then ineligible for a full refundShould the customer wish to cancel their contract we can proceed accordingly

We sent the customer the reimbursement form and are waiting for it to be sent back
Mr [redacted] spoke with the customer and they are going to be reimbursed towards their claim which the customer acceptedAs soon as we receive the signed reimbursement form a check will be issued and mailed out

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: In my initial conversation with the salesman [redacted] I was told that Select Home Warranty would cover the cost of any repair to my home excluding structural damage, all appliances, plumbing , electrical would be coveredIf any items could not be repaired, they would be replaced.In one issue my stove could not be repaired,,,, they offered $to replace itImpossible!From the beginning I had extreme difficulty getting a service tech to come to my homeTwice techs arrived $per trip were paid by me for the visit, they left and NEVER returned., $totally wasted.After many unpleasant experiences I ask for a refund on the policy, I was promised a refund from a manager, Mr, ***Finally I received only $425,for a policy that I had paid $for.I am due a refund of the difference less $= $1259.97They added ridiculous fees and charged me for months that the policy was not in effect.Please help me collect from this unscrupulous company Regards, [redacted]
The customer has already been approved for the policy cap of $150. Please sees section 9.1.2 "Select reserves the right to request prior years (3) maintenance records and/or pictures, without proper maintenance records and pictures the maximum payout on any system/appliance is up to $150.00"We... already spoke tot he customer and we have upped the reimbursement to $250. This is $100 over the policy limit. We have above the policy terms for the customer.
We do apologize for your experience but the terms of coverage are clear followed for all your claims
We did speak with the customerThe customer will obtain a second opinionWe will review the second opinion and cover whatever is covered under the terms of the policy
Unfortunately, the customer is not eligible for a full refundMultiple claims have been filed during the policy term and multiple technicians were dispatched to the customers home for several of those claimsAs a courtesy we can waive the $cancellation fee that would be deducted from their refund if they wish but they cannot get a full refund as they are requesting
The customers refund check was originally mailed out on 6/26/check #***Our office was notified on 9/21/that the customer did not receive their refund checkA stop payment has already been issued on the old check and a new check is being mailed out the customerPlease confirm where you would like this check to be mailed otherwise it will be re-mailed to the property address on file
Photographs were received after the customer spoke with Brad and after reviewing the customers claim and photos received their claim has been denied as the water heat was leakingThe customers claim has been deniedNo additional funds due at this time
