The customer disputed the charges with the credit card company and received a full refundSince they got all of their money back we are no longer able to service this customer
All our terms and conditions are present on our website at all times for customers viewingThe customer requested to cancel their contract which has already been processed in accordance with section of their warrantyNo additional funds due at this time
Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: I have mentioned to Select Home Warranty that I hadn't lived in this house for up to a year when I filed this claim, so it is not possible for me to have years of maintenance records as they are requestingThe repair cost estimate is over $(parts and labor), so limiting my coverage to $150, with the basis being not having years of maintenance records (an impossible demand) is not acceptableThe same policy also states that these parts I'm requesting repairs for are fully covered, so why is Select applying a clause that clearly does not apply in my case (being that I have not owned the home for years)? Note also that the $mentioned have not been paidThe only way this dispute will be resolved is for Select to keep their end of the bargain and cover my repairs, which is mentioned under the policy as fully covered parts Regards, [redacted] ***
The customer had already cashed their initial refund check as originally attachedThey have accepted all the refund terms upon receipt and cashing the checkThe customer was approved the waiving of the cancellation fee after they had cashed that check which is currently being issued to the customerNo additional funds will be approved after that

We have already got separate diagnosis from techniciansThe ac unit compressor shorted out and there was a Freon leakTheses issues are not covered under the policyPlease see section of the terms This Agreement does NOT cover window, wall or zone systems or portable air conditioning unitsThis Agreement does NOT cover (i) air filters; (ii) Freon; (iii) Freon recapture; (iv) geothermal systems; (v) gas or propane air condition systems; (vi) air filtration systems; (vii) humidifiers; (viii) registers; (ix) grills; (x) stands; (xi) jacks; (xii) condenser casings; (xiii) pads; (xiv) vents; (xv) flues; (xvi) clogged lines; (xvii) condensation leaks; (xviii) mismatched systems; (xix) damaged ducts; (xx) improper wiring; and (xxi) improper piping;(xxii)freon leaks;(xxiii)damage caused by freon leakEven if this was a covered issue the max the policy limit on an issue like this would have been $Please see section You are responsible for providing maintenance and cleaning by a licensed technician on covered items to ensure continued coverage on such itemsSelect reserves the right to request prior years (3) maintenance records and/or pictures, without proper maintenance records and pictures the maximum payout on any system/appliance is up to $ So to summarizeThis is a non covered issue and we have gone above the policy terms to approve a $reimbursementWe have not only honored the terms but we have gone over and above for the customer
Per Edward the customer had cancelled out their policySince the customers policy is now cancelled and has been cancelled the reimbursement was no longer valid
Select Home Warranty would like to apologize for any misunderstanding with the customer, we will have one our Managers get in contact with him to try and resolve this matter

Select Home Warranty mailed check # [redacted] -on 2/12/after the customer spoke with a Customer Relations Specialist, we agreed to mail a refund check as the customer did not want therefund returned to their credit cardThe customer was emailed on February 5th to verify that we would be mailing the check to her billing address, unless they request it to be mailed to another location.Select Home Warranty will mail any correspondence or checks to the billing address originally given to Select Home Warranty, it is up to the customer to update us if that address is no longer valid.We did email the customer on February 5, and stated that the check would be mailed to the billing address, unless we were contacted with a new address, we did not hear from the customer until February 19.The customer called in and stated that the check be re-issued, we explained tot he customer that we are a business and there is protocol for payments that we must follow.In this case if a check is mailed to the wrong address we will wait for the check to come back, usually in two - three weeks then we will re-send it In the case the check is not returned to us within that time we will issue a new check and charge a stop scheck fee to the customer if we mailed it to the address on the account.Select Home Warranty did advise the customer of these procedures and ask that the customer honor them as well, as we did give the customer numerous opportunities to update their account information.Please acknowledge the copy of the email that was sent to the customer on February 5th
Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: Select Home Warranty has completely mis-represented their Warranty Policy The Sales Rep ( [redacted] ***) indicated that age of the appliance / system was not a factor and that he would personally work with us regarding any issues where coverage was in question We were also told, that they operate in a manner that if an appliance can not be fixed, then a replacement would be provided We bought NOT only policy, but based on this information! We filed separate claims: 1) Electric water heater had water coming out of the top element cavity and they denied the claim for the fine print in their policy saying they don't cover leaks in water heater2) Sub-zero refrigerator - technician was dispatched, whom we paid $to, that indicated the problem was the thermostat This is after the date / time for the appointment was established for the technician and which he did not show up on the date scheduled, which then had to be re-scheduled The technician then called back after the appointment and said the thermostat for our model / serial # was no longer available, when in fact based on my research indicated that a part WAS available (of them at Midwest Parts in Chicago) for $ While they insisted that a part could not be found, they attempted to compensate us $for "buy-out" of a sub-zero that would cost us $10K to replace I don’t trust that this technician was knowledgeable or even reputable3) Several outlets stopped working – they assigned a technician from Missouri that was NOT even licensed in Illinois where the property is located for the service When I spoke to the technician and asked about his experience with Select Home Warranty, he informed that he has done service work for them and has not been paid When I called back Select, there response was that I could do my own search for an electrician and they would let me know if they’d approve him to do the workAfter such attempted claims with this company, they are not reputable and mis-represent their service agreements I requested my FULL money back because absolutely NO SERVICE has been provided, nor do I believe they would ever actually honor a claim no matter what it is They are attempting to hide behind their “policy” in not refunding a FULL amount based on the # of months since I bought the policyI would NEVER recommend that anyone do business with this company because I have multiple different examples where IF you could get them to just not flat-out DENY your claim, you would be in a constant battle with them to fix / replace the item Regards, [redacted]
Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: I did make A claim via telephone when I called again the person on the phone fond where I filed the original claim very convenient that they are saying I never filed a claim any time I got anyone out to perform ant service I had to find them myself because their provideds would never call to schedule or return callsThis would not fulfill contract when I paid upfront for them to dispatch servise providers Regards, [redacted] ***
We usually reimburse $towards a replacement microwaveThis covers a basic unitHowever, as a courtesy we are going to increase the allowance to $That is the maximum allowance we can provide this customer on this claimPlease confirm acceptance of this amount so that we can proceed accordingly

First let me thank you for your reply and interest to my complaint against Select Home Warranty As a result of my contacting [redacted] , Channel news in [redacted] **, and his contacting Select Home Warranty, I received a call from a Mr***, who is a Resolution Coordinator and who has agreed to refund the actual cost of the water heater ($410.00) to resolve this issue I am sorry that it had to come to this to be treated fairly However, my contract with them is still in effect until next May and I hope there will be no more issues Should you need any more information, please contact me again Again, thank you Your name alone carried a lot of weight in resolving this issue
We are working on hiring a technician for this customer to obtain a formal diagnosis for their claim submission
