Every month there is some kind of issue. To begin with we were not notified that the loan had been transferred to them and we started out with 2 payments due. Last month after trying to get it resolved for several months, we were above to get it back to 1 month payment and the doubled on put at the end of the loan. Then I sent paperwork for automatic payment and they did get it so now there is another late payment due! The website to make payments and manage profile is difficult to navigate. The phone numbers were wrong, the address was wrong.....just frustrating every month.
I sent the automatic payment paperwork again and it had better happen correctly this time. Somehow we have to get away from this company!
Absolutely criminal. I should have checked their reviews before I got the loan, but I was in a bind and had no time to do any research. If I had understood the ramifications of doing business with them, I would have never. They are scammers.

This company refuses to help out with the bill while I am pregnant and paying for moving expenses. The reasoning is because they waived a fee for me once two years ago.

I purchased a used 2012 suzuki sx 4 through orange motors in albany ny in october of 2016 my first ever car loan in my life. it was set up with santander and a company called colonial that was taking my payments every other week from me 303 to be exact. colonial never made my payments and santander called me and asked why I missed 2 months I explained to them that I had a company taking my money for the loan and they were suppose to pay them well it never happened so I had to pay 55 bucks to have them move the payment to the end of the loan. I was paying 300 every month when my loan was 279 a month the extra money never reflected on my loan. I paid on time for 7 months and ended up having a heart attack and being out of work for 3 months so I fell behind on my car payments by 1000 and talked to them and they said I could make 100 payments every week which I was doing . well I paid 100 every week for 2 months which was 800 but I magically owed over 1600 because they said I never paid my car car payment 279 which my bank statments clearly showed they got 100 every single week. well little did I know they came on private property at 6 a.m when I was sleeping and I woke up to no car no letter or anything about my car being repossed. I had property in the car . I tried calling santander and got no answer on how to retrieve my property that wa sin the car. I contacted a lawyer and he advised me that santander had 30 days from the day they took the car to notify me in writing of when and where the auction would be on the car. well santander took 4 months to notify me in the mail that they sold the car and I was to pay 8 grand on the car. I cant pay them online cause they closed my online account never sent me any notices in the mail to pay them but call me every day asking for money. I told them im not paying a dime cause they came on private property and took the car and also never let me get my property from the car like my cosumer rights lawyer told me. my cosumer rights were viloated by this company which is a b.s scam place cause I tried contacting them to get my property out of the car which they never once told me how to reclaim from my car or how to get the car back. santander is a bonafide joke and a rip off loan place that say you can make payments every week but they steal the car when you make the payments to catch up and all. dont deal with this place such a horrible place and a rip off .

I bought my car in Oct 2012 I make a payment of $486 a month and as of today I still owe $15,343. How is this Ok and how is this legal? Please do not finance a car with them you will never pay it off and they prey on people with bad credit. No matter how nice the car is do not finance it with Santander. You will never pay it off.

COMPLETE LACK of communication!!! DO NOT work with them! Their website does not work regarding contacting them! Their online software does not accurately reflect your account so that you have continuous LATE FEES! Without your knowledge!!! They have HUGE fees for everything! You will go broke!!!!

A few years back, my husband and I were having financial difficulties because of my husband sustaining injuries, which did not allow him to manage our finances. When I took over the finances, I realized that we were behind in payments before I could prevent being given a negative rating. Regrettably, I did not get in writing that once I made payments for six months the negative remarks would be removed. Well we satisfied the note a year ago and Santander will not remove these negative marks as this is against company policy. I will never allow them to finance another item for me as they have no empathy for their customers and do not consider mitigating circumstances about what happens to a customer of theirs. What I have learned is I will not accpect a loan from Santander because of their business practices and ethics regarding the treatment of their customers.

After 20 years I am done with this bank and the lack of professionalism exhibited by their workers. First, I had problems with my direcrt deposit that became unresolvable and I cancelled that. Now I am told I cannot deposit my spouses or mom's checks endorsed to me any longer unless I bring them with me? What is the point to endorse then?That part would have been fine if it wasn't for the lack of professionalism I keep experiencing at the 24-28 34th avenue Astoria branch and the posse managers especailly Mr Montero there have but in their own words we don't care about small customers. This man even threatened me to call police when I got nervous and my tone became too strong as to why I ddin't understand their new policy. I got no am sorry maybe we can help you this way, nope just total lack of professionalism and support. After 20 yrs with other banks at this location I cannot accept this from Santander and will be closing my small obviously insignificant account. It is clear since Satander took over this branch that personal accounts matter very little and this managerial poor style is dangerous and unaceeptable for any business.

Refund of over payment.
My Car loan Pay off was confirmend on 05/16/2018. Santander debited a payment from my checking account on 05/29/2017. I contacted their customer service about this error. The representative advised that it takes 30 days to issue a refund. I was refuesed the immediate refund of the funds. The idea that its ok for Santender to continue to pull a payment from my checking account weeks after they confirmed that my account that has always been in good standings is paid in full is bad on its own. What is worse is Santander's demand that I wait an additional 4 week for them to process a refund.
I am requesting the immediate refund of the funds and that no additional debit be made to my checking account.

As of that day, the payoff amount was reduced to $6,314.99, due to the ACH payment processed the previous day. The account was reconciled, which resulted in an overage in the amount of $511.84. On June 12, 2018, we sent you the overage refund in the amount of $511.84, by separate cover, in the form of Check No.:***7200, via First Class Mail to the address listed in the complaint.
Enclosed are copies of the Contract, and Payment History for your review.
