How does 56 negative complaints equal an A-? I was behind on payments and unfortunately had my car towed early morning on 10/20. Not even 2 hours later I made the payment I was told to make to get my car back. I was told to wait 24 hours for the release paperwork to be sent to the place where my car was, to release my car to me. Due to the weekend being closed, I had to wait til the following Monday and the car place still did not receive any paper work and they no longer had my car. IT WAS SENT TO AUCTION! AFTER I PAID EVERYTHING! Then to find out that because my mother had made half of the payment, because she was not on my account that they would not release my car unless my mother went and got a notarized Non dispute letter from her bank. Of course none of the 5 reps I talked to warned us about this. If we would have known, my mother would have just wired me the money. Of course all they say is sorry and make this even more of a nightmare. How do I still not have my car after paying everything I needed to 3 days later. And Santander didn't even communicate the day I made the payment to the location of my car that I had paid, so it got moved to a town an hour away. On top of paying all the payments and fees, we had to pay notarized fees, and I'm going to have to pay for an uber that will take me an hour away to get my car. Not one rep told us the same information as well. I could go on. I have not had one positive experience with them.
Please DO NOT DISREGARD the comments and complaints made about this company. My car was repoed for being behind on 2 payments. I made payment arrangements and they still came to get it. Then they gave me 15 days to recover my car...but still sent my car up the road, 4.5 hours away. The towing company that repoed my car is charging me a $25 admin fee to recover MY personal belongings. Santander reps will call all day, everyday when you just told them that you spoke with another rep and made arrangements! I will definitely be consulting with a lawyer. This company is a joke and their practices are unethical and unprofessional! I will most certainly go above and beyond to ensure that no one else has to go through what I've gone through thus far. Oh.. and I made my payment this passed Friday and was told that it would take 24 hours for them to process the release. Then I contacted Santander late Friday evening, only for that rep to tell me that it takes 24 BUSINESS hours and the weekends aren't considered business hours for them to process the release! It is beyond me how a company with so many legal actions, complaints and admittted consumer issues, could have an A- rating. Santander is a predatory lender that takes advantage of vulnerable citizens. They use unfair practices such as calling early morning or late at night. They reposessed my car without notice and after I had just collected it back from reposession for missing 1 and a half payments. They came back a month later and reposessed and sold it. After struggling to pay over $600 a month for 3 years they sold the car and are claiming I owe more than the cost of the car. This company should not be in business.

Ending your lease early will bring nothing but trouble. I traded my car in one year early, and I received an "early termination letter". It said I owed Chrysler Capital nearly $23K. When I traded in I had paid the remaining payments. I didn't receive a single call from Chrysler Capital, in fact, I reached out to them. They gave no indication of any issues.
This was my fifth and final Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep product, based on my experience with a lender that is part of their corporation.

This company has very poor practices. After getting an automobile loan from Santander, I went to my Credit Union, to get the loan refinanced; prior to making my first car payment. It took Santander one month to get the first payoff check. After taking so long for Santander to receive the first check, I had to get my credit union to stop payment on the check and reissue the 2nd payoff check. The branch manager even sent them a letter explaining her rationale as to why she sent the 2nd payoff check. Ieven faxed then a copy of the letter, as well. In the mean time, I am calling the company on a daily basis. Also, the bank manager sent them a letter stating the dates that both checks were sent to the company. Please be advised that I've had my car for two months and requested that this company send me a copy of the date they receive my checks because they are charging interest.The company has not responded to any of my request. Customer care is less than below average !!!!!!!!!!!!!????

I have made several payments in the past two month and moniter my account on their website, and after each time it has my account as CURRENT, AFTER almost a week thy call and say it is to collect a debt this has happend 4 diffrent times in the past 2 months. THIEVES, CROOKS, SHYSTERS.

The same thing happen to me. I paid them on time and ALL my money when to internet.
They offer auto-pay but doesn't work, or at least it is unreliable. I betting its deliberate so that you pay more in late fees. If you have loans with them get them refinanced.

This company is the worst company to get a loan through. DO NOT accept any loan from them. They're scam artists and practice usury and predatory lending. I was 19/20 when I got a loan with them - I was in a desperate situation and I accepted a loan with them not understanding what I was signing into. I was given a 26% interest rate. I've tried to stay current on my payments but they find ways to charge you additional fees. I can't refinance because almost 70% of my payments have gone to interest only, I've paid 30,000 on this car and my balance hasn't even decrease $4,000. DO NOT ACCEPT A LOAN WITH THEM, YOU WILL REGRET IT. I wish I could sue them for what they've done to me.

The worst company ever I have a car loan with them everytime I pay the payment goes toward the interest which is super high. The customer service sucks they have no heart and take advantage of people with little to no credit.

This company is an absolute crock. They have such shady business practices. All you have to do (which I wish we'd have done 7 years ago) is search "Santander Law Suit" and you can see that they have had several class-action law suits based on their practices and have settled because they know they're wrong. Awful, Awful, Awful company. Please, save yourself the headache.
