Vehicle title issue
I purchased a vehicle, a 2006 Chevrolet HHR, using Santander as the finance company. The vehicle has been paid off for at least 2 years now and I received what I thought was the title to the vehicle saying I owned it. I filed the title away and didn't notice that the title said Santander was the owner and I am the previous owner, until I went to sell the vehicle. I assumed it was a clerical error and contacted Santander, who said they solf my loan to a company called NCM and I needed to contact them. So I called NCM, spoke to Barbara who said that no, the loan shows paid off and Santander needs to fix this issue, but they would email them. I then called Santander again and informed them of this and was told to email them a picture of the title so they could look into it. I did this and they replied NCM released the title and it was my responsibilty to get the title in my name. I replied to Santander that their company name is on the title and that is what I am trying to do. get it in my name. They never replied to me so I have been calling them as well as NCM, and NCM keeps telling me Santander needs to fix the title issue, not them. I'm honestly not sure what to do now, this has been going on for over a month and neither of these companies can give me an answer on what to do with this car title. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Desired Outcome

Ineed the vehicle title in my name as the owner

PREDATORY LENDING PRACTICES APPLYING 100% OF MY PAYMENT TOWARDS THE INTEREST. PURCHASED CAR FOR 15,100 ON 1/15 AND TODAY 7/19 OWE 14,700.
I purchased a 2011 Hyundai Sonata for $15,100 on 1/27/15.The Finance company is Santandar Auto Financing. After looking at my account on today, 7/28/19 my statement for the payoff balance is $14,700. There has only been $400 applied towards the principle of the car. I have been making payments of $423 for the past 4.5 years and none of those payments have been applied to the principle. Which means that I have been paying only the interest on a 2011 vehicle for 4.5 years. After speaking with the representative at Santandar today, she informed me that the amount still owed on the car is due to 6 extensions that I have been granted over the life of the loan. 6 extensions over a 4.5 year period is far from unreasonable. Especially when the extensions were due to over 10 recalls most not covered by the manufacturer, that I paid out of pocket for and mechanical issues with the car. I was also told that once I pay the last $64 of the interest from the extensions most of my future payments would then go towards the principle of the car in which I will be paying another $14,700 in additional payments to pay the car off. As of today I have paid over $20,000 and I still owe $14,700 for a car purchased for $15,100 in 2015.This company is practicing predatory lending by implementing negative amortization within there loan contracts which is deceptive to the consumer.

Desired Outcome

A fair resolution to this issue would be to review my initial loan contract and renegotiate a reasonable payoff amount to reflect payments made over the past 4.5 years. Understandably, requesting extensions bring about additional fees but the fees that have been implemented on my account are far from reasonable and in my opinion fall under the racketeering laws.

Re: Revdex.com Complaint No: XXXXXXXX
Santander Account No.: ***4675

Dear ***:

We have received your complaint submitted through the Revdex.com (Revdex.com), regarding the above-referenced Santander Consumer USA Inc. (Santander) account. Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to address your concerns.

According to our records, on January 27, 2015 you entered into a Note and Security Agreement (Contract) in connection with financing the purchase of a 2011 Hyundai Sonata (Vehicle). The amount financed was $15,100.00 at an annual percentage rate (APR) of 26.76%. The payment schedule called for 72 monthly payments in the amount of $423.21 each, beginning February 26, 2015. Santander was the assignee of the Contract.

Please be advised that Santander sets interest rates based on many factors including, but not limited to, the current value of the vehicle, the applicants' credit worthiness, and their credit rating. Santander proposes funding for applicants which they can either accept or reject at the time of their application. We have confirmed that the APR reflected on your Contract is within the allowable state limits.

After a review of the account, we have determined that the reduction of the principal balance is accurate. In the agreed upon auto finance Contract, it shows that the account is calculated using the Simple Interest Method. This means the balance accrues interest on a daily basis and assumes the customer will make their payment in full on their regularly scheduled payment due date. When a payment is received, the accrued interest must be satisfied first, and the remainder of the payment is applied toward principal and/or fees owed on the account. The amount of interest accrued can vary based on the amount of the principal balance and the number of days between payments.

A review of the transaction history and billing statements shows that payments have consistently been made after the due date, causing additional interest to accrue towards the overall account balance. In addition, at your request, you were granted 8 monthly extensions and a due date change, which extended your contract maturity date.
Due to the assistance provided and payment pattern, more interest accrued between payments, causing the principal balance to reduce more slowly. If timely payments had been submitted, according to the contracted payment schedule, the account principal balance would be less.

As of the date of this correspondence the principal balance has been reduced from $15,100.00 to $14,468.92. Further note that the terms of your Contract have not been re-amortized or altered in any way since the account originated.

Although we empathize with your situation, please be advised that Santander does not currently offer its customers the opportunity to refinance their existing account. If you are looking to have your interest rate or payments lowered, you *** be able to do so by seeking alternative financing with another lending institution of your choice. We apologize for the inconvenience.

We respectfully decline your request to alter your transaction history or lower your monthly payments, as we have confirmed that your payments have been allocated correctly in accordance with the Contract.

Please find enclosed copies of account documents for your records.

Thank you again for allowing us the opportunity to address your concerns. If further assistance is needed please contact us directly at (XXX) XXX-XXXX.

Sincerely,

SANTANDER CONSUMER USA INC.

My vehicle was totaled back in March of 2019 and was financed through Santander. My insurance covered most of the balance and gap insurance covered some. I still have a balance of $1258.43 making payments or $1367.60 pay off. I called the gap insurance company and they told me that the balance paid for the loan was given to them based on the payments and fees and I needed to get with Santander to get the information ghat was sent. I called Santander several times trying to get the information that they sent to the gap insurance and they refused to help and only told me that there was a balance that was left over. They refused to give me any information and still say I owe a balance when it should be 0.

Refinance my auto loan and the account with Santander Consumer was closed out June 27th, 2019. We've been trying to get the car refinanced since May. A payment was not made because the check had been mailed out for the pay off amount and we were told if we did make a payment it would be refunded to us. Spoke to a Santander rep and asked if we didn't make a payment what was the grace period we had before it'd be reported to credit in hopes they'd receive the check by then. Told the end of June. Check arrived the 26th and account was closed and paid 27th. Today the 7/12/2019 a notification from my credit tracking stated the reported the account 30 days late. Contacted Santander upset because were in the process of buying a home, and then they add a negative mark to the credit when it was never late. They stated it was 30 days late so they reported it as well as they don't update credit more than once a month. Told them that was a lie because they're reported the account paid and closed the beginning of the month then re-reported today. Told them to re-listen to the audio between me and the rep and what we were told. Then they tell me we have to dispute the information and it takes 30 days. 30 days I don't have because I'm in the middle of a mortgage process. I even mentioned why would they do something so low when they got what they wanted, a car paid off? Probably because we only had the car 5 month with them before we lowered our interest rate 10% with another company so they couldn't get much of that criminal figured interest rate out of us. Don't bother with this company. Even if you have bad credit be wary because they take anyone but it comes with a price.

Seriously overcharges for loans. Claims they will lower your interest year to year but never does. My loan reached its maturity and a balance was still owed and they repoed the car with no warning. a 12, 000 loan that I paid 17, 400 for and still owed almost 5600....what is wrong with this picture? They are not willing to help at all when addressed. Very good at giving you the run around and then having reps call to discuss your account that cant speak English!! I cant understand that!~

POOR, POOR. POOR customer service. Not good to folk who have severed in the US Military. I kept getting the run-around while trying to get my account back to good standing. I was deployed and when I returned my car had been repossessed in error! I sent in my TDY orders, copy of the police report, USAA confirmation, LES, Military ID, Hospital records etc. Yet they refused to help me. I paid out nearly $3000 upon my return home, picked up my car, only to find out that I had been reported to all (3) credit bureau's, with no offer of explanation! This has been a nightmare for me. How can I be a REPO when I've got my car, and sent all the required information. Horrible company to deal with. I am currently working to find a new finance company! I will be seek legal services, and will report them to the real Revdex.com.
Sincerely,

Unfortunately I made a mistake of using this company to finance a car through. The company pulled my car payment twice within a week of each other. When I called to get a refund on one of the payments as it should not have pulled again, the representative,***, found it amusing and was giggling about the incident. It got to a point I had to demand to speak with a manager in order to try and find a resolution. I was put on hold and every time she would "check in" while I waited she was giggling, like it was so funny to her. I had attempted to get my money back and ended up having to call my bank and having them dispute the charge in my account because Santander kept saying the documents I sent did not make it to them. Then go on to tell me it wouldn't matter anyways because at the time the payment had only been pending at the time the complaint was started and I would need to redo all the faxing again. No one wanted to help and the customer service was exceptionally horrible.
