According to the consumer, he/she selected a non-refundable Name... Your Own Price rental car purchase and priceline did not disclose prior to purchase that only the driver will be able to pick up the rental car at the counter and must present a valid driver's license in his/her name. The driver will be required to present a valid credit or debit card in his/her name for the refundable security deposit. The consumer states: “my reservation was not honored by [redacted] when I arrived to pick up the vehicle. Apparently, there was a requirement for the driver's license and the credit card to be under that same name. Unfortunately, I did not have my license, and the driver did not have a credit card in their name. Complaint: I am rejecting this response because: No where in the terms and conditions does it state that when using the Name Your Price feature you are agreeing to potentially pay more for a hotel than it is valuedThe simple fact that this disclaimer does not exist and I was charged more for a hotel than it was worth is fraudulentRefunding me the difference does not make up for this oversight because that simply means I am paying full price for a hotel that is not of my choosingIf I am going to pay full price for a hotel, I want the ability to do so from a list of places on a siteThe reason I used the Name Your Price feature is because I was under the impression that I would be getting a dealNow, had I actually received a deal and not been ripped off, you wouldn't be hearing from me at all, but that is not the caseI feel cheated and would have NEVER used the Name Your Price feature had I known this was a possibility More importantly, had I not caught this issue, I WOULD be getting ripped offI understand that you have a Price Guarantee, but that should not have to be used to get the full price rate offered on your OWN siteThat should be to ensure your competitors do not out beat youThe mere fact that your algorithm used for the Name Your Price function is pulling hotels at a higher rate than it is valued is a scamThis is not a moral way to run a business, especially one that serves millions of people on a daily basis Sincerely, Tiffani Worthley

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: I was not presented with this information when I booked this roomPriceline did not provide me with adequate information at the time of booking or I would've never booked a room with this method had I been made fully aware that I could be placed in a "smoking room." Priceline made no attempt to have me confirm by initials or electronic signature that I could be placed in a "smoking room" which may negatively impact my health There was no such warning of this clearly displayed on the reservation or no pop up that would have advised me of this at the time of booking the reservation As the hotel clerk originally stated Priceline booked the "smoking room" because it was hotel's cheapest rate I WOULD NEVER JEOPARDIZE MY HEALTH OR ANYONE ELSE'S HEALTH TO SAVE A FEW EXTRA DOLLARS ON A HOTEL ROOM! I strongly feel as a non-smoker with major health issues related to others cigarette smoking, the remnants of cigarette smoke, and my asthmatic condition that I've been discriminated against! The hotel room being booked should be defaulted as a "non-smoking" room and the guest or the person making the reservation should be made to request for a "smoking room" if that is what they require Ultimately, Priceline has no regard for their customer's health and only care about making themselves money at any expense Finally, that room that I was put into would've never passed any acceptable air quality standards even if I had been a smoker The hotel room in question had not been properly cleaned, sanitized, laundered or ventilated prior to my arrival The room literally smelled like someone had been chain smoking in there and it hit me like a brick wall the very second I opened the door and entered the room! I would like a full refund because the room that I booked was in an "un-stayable" condition Had I had actually stayed in that room my health for sure would've have been negatively impacted and I would've ended up in the emergency room getting treated for breathing problems related to that hotel room Sincerely, [redacted] ***

When selecting a reservation, the consumer is provided with the cancel policy associated with each reservation. In this case, the consumer selected a reservation that provided greater savings and less flexibility. Attached hereto, is a copy of the consumer’s initialed contract page authorizing the non-refundable, non-changeable terms and conditions of the selected purchase.
