Signed up for the $77 sewer line cleaning. I had some very small roots from an Azalea bush that was planted over the line (that will be removed this spring).
I was expecting them to come out with a gas powered cable auger machine, but instead they had an electric battery powered version, which was way underpowered for most plumbing issues.
They did try to up sell me, and I know that the roots need to be cut away and possibly replace a section of the pipe, but a cleaning is all I needed until I can get additional quotes on the work that needs done.
The low rating is because I expected the techs to be equipped with high quality professional grade equipment, and not a 24V powered electric machine.
They did clear the blockage and it was a $77 dollar special, but seriously, when you show up with an battery powered cable auger, I have to question wether you are qualified to do any repairs at all.

Chris is courteous, well-informed and great at explaining as though it's the first time he has ever had to explain HVAC inner workings to a clueless person. He was patient and engaging without any appearance of boredom or irritation in answering our questions which we can imagine he answers for people regularly. It was pleasantly surprising to have him walk in for a call and immediately name the problem he suspected, went to work confirming it was the issue he suspected (it was), and had it repaired within the hour. He is a very capable technician, and a nice guy. Refreshing experience to have knowledge, capability, and courtesy in one person at with only visit/call required to remedy the issue. He certainly is an asset to Morris Jenkins. We look forward to calling on him if we have future HVAC needs.

With each encounter I have with Morris-Jenkins Co., be it the billing department, the customer service department when I call to make an appointment, or the service technicians who come to the house, I realize that I made a great decision to deal with this company. My family and I are extremely dissatisfied with the safety and service of Morris Jenkins Heating, Plumbing, and Air Company
We moved to Rock Hill, SC at the end of June 2018. Upon needing an HVAC company we reviewed several online and chose Morris Jenkins out of Charlotte. We initially called them on 7/16/2019 due to my Mom's bedroom remaining warm no matter where the temp was set. We were told that this was due to old ducting that needed to be replaced. The ducting was originally done in 1997. We purchased the "needed" work and equipment that was suggested and were charged almost $11,000. The issue with my Mom's room being too hot was only resolved after the 8th or 9th visit to our home in which they kept "tweaking" vents, adding a vent, and adjusting dampers.
A job opportunity has us moving again so we reluctantly called Morris Jenkins to come perform the quarterly maintenance prior to our home inspections. I thought since there were no current problems it would be a quick visit. They came out on November 13th for the maintenance check. Our home inspector came out on November 18th. The home inspector immediately noticed a gas leak which he shut off. I called Morris Jenkins and asked for a service manager. I was routed to Randy who assurred me that he would send someone back to the house that had significant experience and follow-up with me via a phone call (which he has still not done). William, from Morris Jenkins came while the inspector was still there and resolved the gas leak. He stated that the guy who came out on the 13th had not tightened the valve back. As you can imagine, my family and I are very grateful to be uninjured but are terrified about this lack of diligence to the most basic of safety standards. I have included all of the invoices that were emailed to me. This could have resulted in a tragedy. Thank you for your time.
I would like to be compensated but do not want any further direct contact by Morris Jenkins. $11,000 is a lot of money to spend on a service that is unacceptable and could have caused death.

Misdiagnosed system leads to costly repair, parts replaced that were not bad.
Trane HVAC System was not working and not heating our house. We are advantage customers with Morris Jenkins and called to have repair. The technician arrived promptly and diagnosed the problem, "a burnt out Ignitor" which was not igniting the gas. After a brief waiting period the new Ignitor arrived and the technician replaced it right away, to no avail, system still did not work, so the technician went back to diagnosing our system. At this point in time our bill was around $400 and after further review he came back with a list of other items that needed to be repaired/replaced and our bill jumped up to around $1,750 in repairs, we pointed out to the technician that our system was still under warranty and he went back worked his numbers and came back with a new estimate of $850 because a lot of what he was going to replace was under warranty. We agreed with the scope of work, trusting the technician and his diagnosis, so he left to get parts returning a few hours later. At this point the technician had been working at our house for the better part of the day and returned to our house with replacement parts around 2:30 in the afternoon, around 3:30pm the technician came in to our house to inform us that our propane had actually been locked out by the utility company, and actually asked us if someone had locked the propane tank while he was gone getting parts. We immediately got on the phone with the propane company and come to find out they had disconnected our propane tank and locked it for non-payment back in April, and given the fact we do not use propane in the summer we had no idea it had been locked. The situation with the propane company is another topic altogether, however in the end the propane company had locked our system due to a series of miscommunication and system errors, they promptly came out to unlock our system and are reimbursing us for the inconvenience we incurred. They arrived around 6pm to unlock the propane and hook it back up, and the Morris Jenkins technician came back out once the propane was on, to finish the job he had started.
We had another technician come out yesterday to review the work and discussed the situation with him and he advised us what he thought happened. With that being said, I am wondering how the Morris Jenkins technician could diagnose all of these expensive repairs, even going as far as to replace the ignitor, spent almost the whole day working on our system, while the whole time there was no propane feeding the system.
It is kind of like trying to diagnose a problem with your cars engine and when the car won't start, the technician start replacing parts he thinks may be defective, all the while incurring expense for the car owner, while the whole time there is no gas in the tank to start the car.
We would like a full refund for the work that was done, we feel that in all reality our system was working fine and none of the repairs were necessary, all that needed to be done was the propane needed to be turned back on.

On one of the recent 27° nights, our heating stopped working. We called Morris-Jenkins the next morning and scheduled a technician to come out and have a look.
Andrew F was the first to show up and performed a thorough inspection of our unit. Unfortunately, it wasn't the news we were hoping for and the unit was in pretty rough shape. Andrew brought me up into the attic and walked me through all of the issues while showing me where the problems were on the actual unit. He gave me several options on how we could proceed, and for the safety of our family, we decided we needed to bite the bullet and replace both units.
Dennis M was called to come out and go over the pricing with us. He took his time and measured all of the spaces and units carefully, explaining what he was doing and why he was doing it the whole way. Because a project of this nature is so expensive he helped explain to us what would be the most bang for our buck, what the difference between the various tiers is, and what he thought was the best option in our situation. After talking to him we felt very confident in our decision to replace the units and he scheduled technicians to come out the same day.
Around 2:00 Eric and Josh came out to start the project. They were extremely professional, courteous and also kept us in the loop the entire way. They were extremely quick, efficient and thorough with the installation. Once finished Eric walked me through their work on the units, explaining the original issues, and then showing me how they solved the problem. Again, I know nothing about heating and air, but after remembering back to what our original units looked like, and now seeing Eric and Josh's work, there was a night and day difference in the quality. Eric and Josh demonstrated incredible attention to detail and built a clean unit that works as good as it looks.
These units are an investment and it's pretty scary when you learn you need to replace something that can be this expensive, but working with Morris-*** and Andrew, Dennis, Eric and Josh gave us peace of mind and made the experience as smooth as it could have possibly been. We were so sold on their quality and customer service that we signed up for Priority Advantage so they can service and maintain these units to avoid any future issues. I'm not usually a person that does reviews but in this case, we were so blown away by the kindness, professionalism, knowledge and quality of work that I felt it was necessary.
Thank you, Andrew, Dennis, Josh and Eric for all of your hard work and for being so considerate and kind around our children. We greatly appreciate everything and will only use Morris-*** for future projects.

Mitch came to our home today to do the yearly maintenance on our gas furnace. He called ahead to let us know when he would arrive, He performed the maintenance in a timely manner and let us know that everything checked out good. He also did a carbon monoxide test that was negative. Most impressive about Mitch is his personality! He is the friendliest technician that has come to our home! He truly enjoys his work and is a wonderful ambassador fo Morris-Jenkins. He should be in the next tv commercial with Mr. Jenkins! My husband and I think Mitch looks like Bobby in the old Morris-Jenkins ads!
