Good morning, ***On behalf of GameStop, we apologize for this poor experience in association with our companyAll GameStop retail locations carry "gutted" copy of a new gameThis is so that our retail locations have an accurate representation of the product to our guests on the sales floor"Gutting" these copies involve removing the plastic wrap around the case, removing the contents from the case such as the disc, any booklets or downloadable content vouchers and safely transferring them to a disc sleeveThis sleeve is then stored away in a locked drawer, and is not used in any fashionOnce the case is completely empty, a price sticker is placed on the case, and then placed in the new section for display on the sales floorOnce a store has sold all other copies of that title, and only the 'gutted' copy remainsIf this copy is sold, a store representative will pull the disc sleeve from the drawer and place the contents back in the case and if available, they will reseal the case either with a resealabale bag or labelBecause the 'gutted' copy is never actually used, it is still considered new and sold at the new priceWe understand that not all guests are comfortable with purchasing these copies, and if that is the case, we always have alternative solutions to offer to our guests such as finding a neighboring location that has non-gutted copies, ordering the copy online through the warehouse to either be shipped to your home or preferred store location, or even selling digital copies if availableIf you have any additional questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to let me know- I am here for you.Best Regards, [redacted] **|Revdex.com Liaison| GameStop | Service Matters

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: When the game is opened, it is no longer factory sealed, therefore it is not newThis is a fact, not an opinionGameStop has the resources to print game info for display, there is no need to gut a copy, and if you do is should be sold as used or at best used but opened at a slight discountThis policy is bad for your customers and bad for your companyNot only that, it leaves room for your stores to sell used games as new, and that’s happening if you believe it or notIt’s unethical and leaves room for fraudI will never accept this and will continue to fight until GameStop does the right thingNew=FACTORY SEALEDPeriod!
