I have been a customer of many years I have hit financial difficulties the last few years, and in January of 2016, as my contract was coming to an end, I began looking for alternate ways to have TV that I could afford I found several options, but ATT was the most expensiveI chose a competitor and then called ATT for disconnect At that time they offered me Direct TV with the local sports package, channels I wanted and MB of internet speed I was guareenteed the price would be less than $ I was very specific when I told them I could not afford more and would not pay more They assured me the package they found for me would be perfect They repeated several times what it would include and what it would cost My first bill was almost $200, but by the second bill it straightened out The second bill was $ I called and they said it was the f

There was a promotion last year that if we moved to UVerse, we could purchase iphone 8s at 50% off We took them up on this offer and upgraded my iphone to an and purchased phones/added lines for my two nieces There was an issue at the store and they did not effectively enter the discount code I have been working ceaselessly with multiple customer services reps both on the phone and in the store for months now Everybody confirms that the problem is fixed, but it definitely is not Meanwhile, I have no choice, but to continue to pay double the cost for the phones
When AT&T offers you a too good to be true promotion, DO NOT BELIEVE THEM! This error is costing me $350/phone for phones - $1,050!!!! I am powerless to correct the error and nobody at AT&T seems to care or have the integrity to make this right

I had initially thought about filing a complaint with the Revdex.com but since the goal is remediation for that process I have determined that severing any current relations is much better offI confidently feel that any remediation would be only a band-aid
AT&T uses many of your typical marketing strategiesThey give you a great temporary deal and then prices go wayyyyyy upOnce they go up it is very difficult to cancel, they continue to give you better deals until you stayEven once you get transferred to the cancelation representative they again try to keep you and sell you something even if you don't need or want it
Today I was told that my contract expires in the year and I have to pay a $cancellation feeI'm lucky it is only $The concerning part though is I have known I will be moving for some time and have been very diligent and as careful as process (beyond a degree reasonable attention to detail) and they are still telling me I have a contractI have tried to ask every single time or verify online before ordering anything that it would not extend my contract, yet somehow it hasIf a reasonable person puts a reasonable effort in to making sure a contract isn't extended and it still gets extended then there is something wrong
Today I was also told I can't cancel until days before I moveI'm relocating and initially tried to relocate the services but then a $fee popped upI was told that they would do everything possible to get that fee to go awayIn the end though the only way to do that was to upgrade to services I don't want or needI doubt there is truly a cost of $to relocate the modem and what notTo me this seems clearly to be an attempt to force you to upgradeDon't worry though, only when you threaten to quit will their cloud of smoke go away and then surprise, they are happy to keep you as a customer and waive the $fee! Once again this is a terrible marketing strategy!!!!
Sadly, it sounds like most experiences with competitors are equally terrible
The games these companies play are complex and no reasonable person can understand anything they doI'd value a company that has relatively straight forward pricing that increases at the rate of inflationHaving a constant cost to something (not a year promotion and then pay double) is unreasonable for most people, why do you continue to use that strategy? I think many customers would stay long term if you were dependable
In the end, I think that all cable/internet companies are probably equally terrible on the customer service/customer acquisition/customer retention side of thingsOverall their service is good and the price occasionally refillIt's the marketing games that are played that just destroy the respect most have (reference: 93% negative reviews on the Revdex.com with over 21,complaints.)

After paying off our phones, AT&T told us it would take 24-hours to process and unlockAfter that time period? NothingWe called again and they said it would take another 24-hoursThat time has passed again and we called again"Try again tomorrow." What? Regarding my business phone systemQuoted 30% lower rate two months back when I was possibly switching services, applied it for one month and then retroactively raised my rate to an even higher than I was paying for my business phone service after years of loyaltySpoke to loyalty / retention department today, they said said they cannot honor the new low rate they quoted months earlier and that rates can just change constantlyI will be cancelling service and using SpectrumThey also refused to put any discounts or better rates in writing and email, fax or mail them to meFeel very mislead after all this time with them

Lots of billing issues after I cancelled my account and then a year later sent to collections for something that wasn't owed
After moving to a new town I was forced to cancel my account with AT&T because they did not offer service thereAfter canceling in August of I continued to get a monthly bill and after a half dozen calls finally got that resolvedI then mailed back the equipment so I would not be billed for it in January of which was delivered using the label they provided meI tracked the package using their system and it showed it was delivered as of January 28th of and I never heard anything else after thatThen on 5-19-I received a call from a debt collector stating that I had been sent to collections from AT&T for the cost of the unreturned router which the router was returned back in JanuaryI have been more than frustrated with AT&T all the way around because it takes phone calls to get anything fixed and now I have to deal with this collectio

ATT and internet security issues as well as ageism, sexism bullying from the San Antonio office Call Center, The paid service Connect Tech had calls between Nov until now and could not stop (or did not try to stop)with static IPs and even a wired down connect- in fact merely wiped the rogue connections history and basically gave me excuses like: "Oh well if Microsoft upgraded it systems the NVGwill rest the modem/router" or "is your router modem on the ground?" this could interfere or "Is it plugged into a power strip?" These were the reasons they gave for "guest accounts turning themselves on and different frequencies (5GHZ) turning both guest and primary user accounts on What entire hypocrisy

ALOT of modems were sent out from ATT as if this were the issue! Except UPS did not deliver onw modem to my address it went to an access point and did not show up here at my home address So while tech supporting a modem San Antonio Tech call diagnosed as a bad Ethernet card or a bad Ethernet card I could only connect to a compromised wired connection I asked the call center to trouble shoot the unused NVG that I had picked up from the "access point" which he refused to do I then set up the modem in question and viola it WASNT A bad Ethernet card in fact it worked fine on a wired connection
In fact ATT had misdiagnosed in collusion with (only agencies can "legally" ask for these connection intrusions without a warrant FBI and Homeland Security And in fact their surveillance and interference in every part of my communications has created a very dangerous life for a low income senior citizen This is illegal and allows law enforcement breaking the law to complete shatter a citizens life

I ordered a bundle with their internet and Directv cable servicesDirectv technician came out the next day, and informed me there was too many trees near the house to install the cableThe same day I canceled all servicesOn seperate occasions I've called ATT and had to "cancel" againIt's now been weeks and still no refundDo not recommend this service for anyone

We called to set service up 6/15/ I have all the peoples names and dates I have spoke with thru today, 9/16/ We had a horrible buzz on the phone, which I have a recording of, showing my phone, until mid August They are trying to charge me an extra $PLUS late fees! I hae talked with numerous people, again each time writing them down, with assurance of credits being made Even spoke with a "Maquis" in billing on 8/3/who assured me no charges for the service until fixed, giving me a direct line of 877-999-for which I tearfully thanked him Ha! That's just a generic number for billing! The next time I called I got the run around again! On 9/we were disconnected! Don't know how long it had been off as we only use for emergencies since our parents are elderly! Are you kidding me! Called and talked with "Roland" who stated "I'll pay the $ That will be my quota for today Just pay the $to reconnect it." Which I did Back on 9/ Service good, no buzzing since fixed Got on line today to find out STILL NO CREDITS and now they are charging us LATE FEES!!!!! Called today, 9/and spoke with a "Venus" who hung up on me! Called back to get a "Rachel" who was in internet area, gave her whole story for her to give me run around and transfer me to different lines at same time Hung up Called a local ATT store to see if they could help Ridiculous! Everyone you talk to are foreign and you KNOW they are giving you bogus names! One time the girl couldn't even spell her name right! She had to spell it twice to me! A "Phylisiea"! I don't know about you but I can spell my name right each time! This company is ***! Can't reach anyone who can help and no place to contact home office Guess I'll be looking for a small claims court if issue not resolved! Stay away if possible! Unfortunately, they have a monopoly! I called the company set it up and waited for my SIM card
I received my SIM card, carrier incompatible
So I called my at&t paid my termination fee
A couple days later I called in to check in on my unlock phone status and a lady told me I should cance my account to make it easier

Now I am without a phone line, and they keep telling me I'm still under contractI was hung up by different representativesI spoke to different people today and I am appalledI think at&t is the worse phone company with their customer serviceI am robbed of my money and without a phoneI can't bear this company

Terrible customer service and good luck speaking to a managerThey say one will call you back because that's there policy to not let you speak directly to a managerI have yet to have a manager ever call me any time I have ever requested oneSeveral hours on the phone and my issue was never resolvedI upgraded phones last year and all of a sudden I have no data services at my homeThey say a tower is down (for the last months) and that I will not be having service in my area anymoreFine I understand but If you cant provide me service please help me with the payments I owe on the devices so I can switch to a company who can provide me serviceAnd let customers speak to managers when the request to do soMost of your customer service representatives are incompetent and under trained but worst of all they are rudeDo not recommend this company
