If I could rate AT&T as a positive experience, then I wouldWe made a request to transfer our internet service weeks ago because we were movingFirst I was told that it couldn't be done until a week later since that's the next appointment available so we took itUsually week just to transfer services is not ideal but we accepted itOn the date that the service was supposed to be transferred, the tech never came, no one called me to tell me that they were running hours behindI called to ask why they had missed their appointment time and the rep said they were running way behind but that a tech would definitely be out there within the next hourAfter hours had past I called a second time to see what's going on, the second rep and the manager promised me that the tech would be out here that same day but they never came or calledThe following day I called to see what happened and what they were going to do about it and I was told that they weren't able to get to me but that the earliest they could come was now going to be another weekI always thought that first come, first serve was the rule but I told them if they couldn't come that day or that weekend to cancel my service so they said ok to cancel my serviceThey didn't even care to lose my service and I pay my bill on time every timeThey didn't care to keep their word as a business and provide the service as promisedThey said that it was a 3rd party technician who didn't come and said he still couldn't make it for another week but he's not under the control of AT&T so he can do whatever he wants without being reprimandedThe next day they continued on to those customers that were scheduled that day but didn't go back to those customers that had been missed the day before
After speaking with the retention department, the guy said he would still have a tech come to connect a slower speed internet so we could keep our discount from the bundle we hadThe new service order was set for the following Tuesday but of course the tech came on Monday when there was no one home to let him in and he just left the equipment at the door but didn't hook it upNow today I'm on my 3rd request, even after a request to terminate my service, asking that when they come today, that they hook up a faster speed like we had before the move and the rep said yes that they could do it and they would be there today between 9a-10aIt is now 2:00pm CST and no one has shown up and I'm still waiting on reps to call me back with the status and the last lady said give her a couple hours to wait for a response from the dispatcherWell a couple hours from now they'll be done for the dayNow I'm in a situation were we actually do not have a way to get internet at my homeI've relocated and didn't realize that AT&T was the other internet option at that new addressNow I'm going to lose my business and my kids and I are not going to have the convenience of doing our homework online at home thanks to AT&T
How can AT&T still be a thriving company? How can they be allowed to take money from customers and not deliver service? If there is no other internet/phone service providers to compete with, how long will they be able to rip us off? I would rather not have internet AT ALL before I give a dime of my money to AT&TThis should be against the law for a "real business" to be able to take your money and don't have to deliver as promisedI have lost so much business just trying to get internet transferred for the last weeksI will be sending this same complaint to their corporate office
