WorldRemit Reviews (%countItem)

I used WorldRemit, a digital way to transfer money worldwide. I transferred $351.05 from my *** account to my *** account in Nigeria. The service advertised as ‘instant’ and it’s been 2 days. I haven’t seen the money in my account, even though they have verified that I filled out all the information correctly. It’s neither in my Nigerian bank, and I haven’t gotten a reversal. I either need my money back, or need them to transfer the equivalent to my foreign account at once. I’ve sent them screenshots of my accounts as requested and they’re saying I should wait indefinitely. There’s no timeline, and that’s unacceptable because they claim to be an instant service. Both the sender and receiver (me) are the same person, so there’s really no reason it shouldn’t have gone through. My family members need the money back home and I cannot afford to wait indefinitely.

On Novenber 6,2019 Worldremit deducted $947.80 from my Intuit turbo tax Visa card without my knowledge or approval. Furthermore I do not have an account with them. I do not know who they are. I have tried numerous times to contact them to get an adjustment for this amount but I am not able to reach anyone who will help me.

I opened an account on WorldRemit {with password} a number of months ago, but did not use the account. Today, December 07, 2019 I attempted to send some money to a friend/pastor of mine in Kenya, East Africa to purchase something for me. It said in within minutes on the website, but once I click submit it said by December 13, 2019. There was not a chat or contact option on the webpage. I did receive an email requesting documentation {driver's license and selfie}, which I sent. Shortly, WorldRemit sent me two texts from different phone numbers requesting me to call them. After calling twice I spoke with a male customer service representative. He asked a number of personal questions about my relationship with the recipient and the purpose of my sending the money, put me on hold a few minutes and said that I should hear back from them by email "within a half-hour." I tried to log back into my account and it said the account was disabled. A few minutes later, I received an e-mail stating: "We're sorry to inform you that we've made the decision to cancel your transaction and close your account," and that they're "not legally able to tell ... the exact reason" for their closure. I don't know why they made this poor decision. I submitted all the documentation they required and answered all questions, the money was available in my money market account with the transaction pending, yet they did not provide me with service as advertised. I am very disappointed and will not recommend them to anyone. I have never had this issue with the Western Union.

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because: World Remit communicate through text and never got back to me by calling or through text. I was only told to check my email after the 8th day when I had been told consistently to wait for a refund between 2-7 business days. I have not received my refund as at today and they have made no efforts to help me get my refund back.

Sincerely

The consumer’s transfer was successfully cancelled and refunded upon the consumer’s initial request on November 16th, 2019 to the account which they used to submit payment originally. In order to further assist the consumer in resolving this situation, WorldRemit Corp. has attempted to contact the customer several times via phone (on 12/9/2019, and 12/11/2019) and email (on 11/27/2019, and 12/9/2019) to provide an acquirer’s reference number (ARN) for the consumer’s refund.

WorldRemit Corp. recommends that the consumer provide their bank or card issuer with the ARN for their transfer to assist in reallocating these funds to their account. The ARN for the consumer’s refund is “***”

WorldRemit is unable to provide additional compensation per the consumer’s request at this time.

I've had multiple, unauthorized charges made to my business debit card by fraudsters using WorldRemit as their chosen vehicle to send funds out of the country. WorldRemit is a conduit for criminals to use. Normal folks simply use banks or credit/debit cards.

WorldRemit is capitalizing on increasing online and electronic/credit/debit fraud and skimming profit off each illegal transaction.
