I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. The purchase price was refunded to me entirely. However, I am still puzzled as to why Westpark Electronics sent me a grey market camera in the first place instead of the requested (and paid the additional price) American camera. Others who may purchase cameras from this company should be made aware that Westpark is NOT authorized to sell [redacted] cameras and are unable to provide a warranty. If you pay the grey market camera price, then should know what you are getting and that is a camera that is not able to be serviced in the United States or Canada. If you purchase an American compatible (factory warranty and service centers authorized to repair your camera) and you have paid the additional price for this as I did, you may be better served going to another seller who is authorized by [redacted] These are mistakes I learned the hard way. That is the original reason for my complaint - I did not get what I paid for and was uncomfortable working with this company other than to receive a full refund. Buyer beware.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: Here is exactly what happened. On November 28, 2014, I placed the order for the tv online. On December 11, 2014 at 10:45 am. I sent an email asking about the status of my order and if you would provide my an approximate delivery date. At 2:38 pm on December 11, 2014, I received an email from [redacted] asking me to contact [redacted] (no last name) at ext. [redacted] to complete and confirm my order which I did. [redacted] then explained to me there were two different versions online of the tv I ordered. One came with inferior components and if I wanted the better one it would cost an additional $200.00. Not knowing anything about tv's I ordered the more expensive model. Just today I contacted ** about the commercial vs. retail models. A complete lie that cost me an additional $200.00. I was also told by [redacted] he would upgrade my delivery service at no charge to white glove delivery, whatever that is. That way they will bring it directly to the door. I was also offered a $100.00 gift card for local restaurants. I received an email from Abe's on December 12, 2014 at 11:40 am confirming the order placed the day before. So you can see the delivery wasn't made on the eleventh. When the delivery was made on December 17, 2014, a truck pulled up to my driveway. One gentleman stayed with the truck. The other carried the tv to my door where myself and my son were waiting. He left it on the porch, I signed for it and he left. There was no stamp on the original or my copy of the receipt saying it was set up and plugged in. That was obviously added after. My son and I then took the tv inside, removed it from the box and plugged it in. It didn't work. I immediately called Abe's and asked for [redacted]. He then directed me to [redacted] (no last name) at ext. [redacted] I explained the situation to [redacted] and he said white glove delivery meant they were suppose to set the tv up an plug it in. When I told him that didn't happen, he asked me to pictures of the tv off, on, the serial number and the box and that he had to contact the shipping company. I did that immediately and emailed it to him along with my cell number at 4:04 pm on December 17, 2014. I got an email back from [redacted] at 4:32 pm confirming receipt of the pics and that he had to check with the shipping company. On December 18, 2014 at 10:21am I emailed [redacted] asking if he heard from the delivery company. No response. On December 19, 2014 at 8:11am, I emailed [redacted] asking for this issue to be resolved along with my cell number. No response. I then called on December 19, 2014 at 12:40pm and was transferred to [redacted] extension at 12:49pm. No answer. I then called [redacted] again on December 19, 2014 at 3:05 pm and left a message. No response. I have copies of all emails related to this. This company is obviously trying to evade this issue.

This matter has been referred to the NJAG's office. There are multiple complaints describing a similar modus operandi for this retailer doing business as Abe's of Maine on the internet, and the hope of this consumer is that other consumers will also report their bait 'n switch experiences with Abe's of Maine so that the AG might use regulatory and civil law not available to the Revdex.com. For the benefit of the reader of this complaint and the unscrupulous retailer's latest response to it, the order was, in fact, canceled, but by the retailer not the consumer. The consumer complainant received confirmation of the order but then got a phone call two days later, indicating that the order would not be honored without now paying a $1000 upgrade fee for the "set you really want" or, in the alternative, a "mandatory $400 freight insurance surcharge. The retailer of record canceled the order and told the consumer to "call back if (he) changed his mind" and was willing to pay for the upgrade or would be willing to pay for the freight insurance. Later, as the history will indicate, the retailer raised the advertised price on the television. The retailer later offered, in these communications through the Revdex.com, to sell the television to the complainant at the new advertised price but expressly claimed that they could not override the system to sell it at the original order price now that the original order had been canceled by the retailer. More recently, as this chain of communication indicates, they offered to sell the television at the original price by overriding the price in the system! Veracity is not the strong suit for Abe's of Maine, not even in official correspondence through the Revdex.com. One day they'd love to honor the original price but just can't because the new price can't be overridden. Two weeks later, and after a complaint with the AG was filed, they say, sure, we can override the system and sell it to him at the original price. Readers of this complaint can review the correspondence can make their own judgments about the business dba Abe's of Maine. I ask the Revdex.com to leave the complaint open so that other potential customers might be saved from falling prey to the bait-and-switch tactics used by Abe's of Maine.

I am rejecting this response because:
I appreciate your response, but all of my interactions with your company outside of these text responses have demonstrated that your company does not care at all about it's customers or following through on website advertising. I have chosen to go with a different vendor for my purchase. In all of my phone interactions with your company, I have been treated very poorly, not listened to, and put on hold without any notice or warning. I do not expect, nor deserve, to be insulted when inquiring about the price and details of a product listed on your website. As a note, it would be extremely easy for me to make a recording of my phone interactions with your company and/or provide transcripts publicly to share the quality of your customer service.
At the very least, I strongly recommend you reconsider your representative training and customer treatment if you value quality and customer service as you say you do. I also would like to point out that your website still lists a price, and shows the TV as "available", without any disclosure of whether or not the TV is the US version. At best, this is misleading to anyone interested in making a purchase. Your companies choice to not say what country the TV is made for is highly suspect and extremely misleading to customers. I have never run across any sales website that lists items that a customer can buy without disclosing what the customer is purchasing until AFTER the order has been completed - especially when your representatives themselves disagree with what product you are selling, and whether or not the listed price is relevant.
I have no interest in supporting your business and sincerely hope that any potential future customers are aware of your poor customer service and highly misleading advertising.
