I’m sorry to hear that [redacted] didn’t receive the email that I sent on 06/06/I appreciate the information she provided because it definitely helps me research her experienceI’d more than happy to provide her with more information The provided number [redacted] isn’t the correct Target.com order numberHowever, I’ve found an order number [redacted] that was submitted 05/28/for the Waverly Seashell Area Rug, item number [redacted] using the incorrect email address ***[redacted] @yahoo.com I show that when the order first submitted on 05/28/2016, the original total was $97.29, $was put on the Target GiftCard ending with [redacted] and the remaining amount of $was put on the MasterCard as a pre-authorized transactionA team member had processed two discounts of $and $after the order was submitted, so a total discount of $23.14, which was including $in sales tax that was adjusted before the order was shipped Target doesn’t charge the payment method until the item is shippedIn ***’s case, she was only charged $on her Target GiftCard when the item was shipped on 05/31/The pre-authorized MasterCard transaction of $should’ve been automatically drop off within seven days after the order was shippedRest assured, [redacted] was only charged $on the Target GiftCard for her order, but not her MasterCardThere is a remaining balance of $on her Target GiftCardIf [redacted] is concerned about this authorization hold and the pending transaction is still showing on her bank activities, she’ll need to work directly with her bank Since Target didn’t charged her MasterCard, there is nothing for us to refund

Thanks for contacting Target on behalf of our guest [redacted] regarding her recent order experience with Target.com.I understand that her order was cancelled and that she is wanting the balance restored to the GiftCard she used on the order In reviewing the order, I’m seeing that the order was cancelled due to a payment issue The GiftCard used on the order has been restored to its original balance When an order is placed there is an initial hold placed on the funds and the method of payment won’t be charged until the order ships When an order is cancelled, the funds are released back to the method of payment used on the order GiftCards can sometimes see a delay of up to a day to see the funds placed back onto the GiftCard.I'm sincerely sorry for the amount of frustration that this issue has caused our guest As always, I appreciate the assistance you provide us with our guestsIf you have further questions, feel free to contact Target.com at ###-###-####

I am rejecting this response because:Target's system sent me an email offer specifically designed to entice me to their site, conveniently when the product was no longer available (though their website showed it to be)Further, after I had discovered that I could not complete the purchase that they had just suggested, they then sent me another email making essentially the same offer As I had stated in my initial complaint, that sounds very much like a modern version of a bait and switch, and they should not be allowed to continue such a practice.Also, it seems a convenient excuse to claim that orders for three items happened to be cancelled the next day after the expiration of the offer.As to the comment that "Shopping on Target.com should be fun and easy", I find that humorous as it never is.***
