The undisputed facts regarding this issue are that we hired GE to fix a problem with our refrigerator, while the GE Technician was fixing our appliance they damaged both doors, they sent out 7 sets of doors to our house over several months none of which were in any condition to replace the current damaged ones and now they want me to pay $800 for a new one of similar specs at a discount.I think GE should be ashamed of the way they handled this entire process. A company of this size comes into a customers home and causes damage that can't be fixed then tells the customer to pay $800 for a replacement of similar spec.The only resolution is for GE to fix my current appliance so that it is in the condition it was in when they came into my house to fix it, which they said they can't or replace it with the same model at their expense. This was their mistake.

Thank-you for the opportunity to review this consumer’s situation. On 2/2/16 I proposed a prorated discount to replace the consumer's over 2 year old washer. I first proposed that he pay only 20% towards a new washer plus tax, delivery/install and haul away of the old. He wasn't satisfied with that offer. I then offered a very generous 10% prorate in which he would pay only $61.50 plus $5.38 tax plus $110 for our delivery company to delivery, uninstall his old unit, install the new unit and haul away the old for a grand total of $176.88. The consumer only wanted to pay no more than $100 total, but agreed to my prorate offer. The new washer was delivered and installed on 2/5/16. I have closed the case. The repair man came out to my home on 5/23/2015 and made some repair to my washing machine. My husband stated that the repair man was no in the home no more than five minutes and then he was completed with the repairjs. My husband and I and my son went to Miami for the holidy and return back on 5/23/2015. I got home at approximately 5:40 on 5/26/2015 and proceeded to put a load in the washing machine and the washing began reading LIP and would not work. The repair men had came out at the wrong time when he was scheduled to the repairs two weeks ago. General Electric did give me money to go the laundry mat until I got paid. So know I have ran into the same problems. My washing machine is not working and they havae just put a new motor in the washing machine in November 2014 and it still not working. The women tha tthey originally took the call advised me that she was going have the repair men talk to the engineering department while he was doing the repairs, to make sure that the washing machine was fixed correctly. She also advised me that she was going to callme on 5/26/2015 to make sure that the repairs was done correct and that the washing machine was working properly. She advised me two weeks ago that the service callw as from 1-5, and everyone else said 8-5 like I don't have a life. So know I have clothes piled up again, do not get paid again until the end of the month and I have waited four weeks for repairs, and risking the fact that my son has asthma and id allergic to coach roaches, and that is what the laundry mat is full of taking him there and getting and allergic reaction.
At this I am very frustrated, I am broke my clothes are piled up. The fifty dollars are gone. It takes 6.83 for a medium size washer and I have to go at least twice a week to stay caught up. It also takes a good amount of money to dry all of those clothes not including gas and time. The washing can not be compared to the one that they replaced it no way shape or form. At this time they would realize that this washing machine is no good, and it should be replaced with a much better washing machine. Until they need to give the money to do my laundry, or give me a loaner until they decide what the appropriate action should be taken. Patching this washing machine up is not the answer.

Again, their GE technician advised NOT to use the self cleaning feature because over time it damages parts and replacement would be necessary.To replace a part is why he was at my home.This manual cleaning was not an idea I came up with, but direction from the technician GE sent to my home to replace a part.Following those directions (cleaning manually with an over the counter product), the product seeped almost immediately through the double pane window. If the window was properly installed that cleaning product or any other liquid should not have gotten between the double panes. And certainly not that fast. This is not about a warranty. This is about the direction given by the GE technician AND the construction of the range.
