Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:This verbose restatement of policy does nothing to justify the misleading description of Priceline.com's offer. By definition "The [redacted] ***" (The Strip) is an area of a single street; [redacted] ***1. The hotel we received after booking is (citing Priceline.com's website) "Less than two miles from The [redacted] ***..." Intentionally and materially misrepresenting the location of the booked hotel has two effects:1) Priceline.com obtains a lower rate compared to hotels with comparable amenities which are actually, physically, located on The Strip. These rates are represented to the consumer as similar to hotels actually, physically, located on The Strip. This misleads consumers into believing Priceline is offering hotels on The Strip at a discount; resulting in higher booking rates. 2) Consumers, being mislead in the manner above, must incur additional transportation costs to reach the location falsely described by Priceline.com. Transportation to/from locations actually on The Strip adds an average $30 round-trip cost. Therefore, Priceline.com's misrepresentation will cost us $60 per day, for a total cost of $240. Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:There is something Priceline can do; they are just refusingI've attached four screenshot of the checkout process on Priceline and nowhere on it does it mention the passport must match the passenger namePhoto 1: screen to enter passenger name as it appears exactly on drivers license or other official photo IDI did thatPhoto 2: requirements for passenger nameNo mention of passportPhoto 3: payment screen after entering passenger nameMentions requirement for valid passportNo mention that it must match the passengers namePhoto 4: talks about the need for valid passport for international travelNo mention of requirement to match passenger nameThe problem I have with this company is their refusal to accept responsibility for this and their claim that they're unable to assist the customerNot trueI informed them they could assist by either issuing a store credit or booking a flightThe fact they have a Priceline credit card tells me they ARE able to assist meFurthermore, the company has made many assumptions throughout its correspondence with meIf I was married years ago and never updated my driver's license and now it's time to get a passport (which doesn't require copy of my driver's license), there will be a conflict between name on passport and name on driver's licenseHowever, website says enter name exactly as it appears on driver's license when in actuality, it should have been the name on the official passportThis is exactly what happened in my caseMy senior mom has always had her maiden name listed as her middle name on her driver's licenseSo we entered Pamela Bradford Allen during the booking processHer passport shows Pamela Vernice Allen which includes her middle name as shown on her birth certificateWe didn't know there would be an issue if the passenger name didn't match passport exactly since the name matched the driver's license exactlyI just want the company to issue a credit or book a flight at same cost I initially paid (~$860) and update the Enter Passenger Name page to make clear that if traveling international, you must enter name exactly as it appears on a valid passportFor domestic travel, drivers license or other official photo IDWhat I'm asking isn't muchThis was caused due to the company's assumptions and unclear guidance on the websiteOf course, they wouldn't think of this because it's probably never happenedAnd if not, let this case be a lesson learned to prevent future instances of this from occurringAgain, store credit for ($860), rebook flight at no cost to me, or I rebook but not have to pay more than initially paid (company will bore cost of excess) and Update website so that there's a clear distinction between international and domestic travel as it relates to the photo ID Sincerely, [redacted]
