Review: In June 2014 I spoke with [redacted] in regards to consolidating my student loans and that my goal was to have them paid off by the time I retire which will be in approximately ten years. I was advised that I had to pay a fee of $599 before any processing would begin. This fee was deducted from my account on the 1st of August 2014. I then began paying $223.17 every month thereafter. On Monday the 22nd of June I had contacted NSP in regards to changing my deduction date from the 28th of the month to the first of every month. The customer service representative advised me that my anniversary date was the 1st of August and I could cancel my contract with them because I was within the 90 day time frame. I last spoke with a representative on the 24th of June at approximately 4 pm and was then advised that my anniversary date was today and that I would not be able to cancel this contract. My issue with this company is that they have been deducting $223.17 from my account. Of this amount $10 is for administrative fees and the remainder should have been paid to the Department of Education. However, when I spoke with the Department of Education I was informed that they were only receiving $149 which was my regular payment. Also, I discovered that my account with DOE is delinquent by $17. This company also went in and changed all of my contact information. This information included a 714 area code phone number and they changed my address to [redacted]. This company is supposed to manage my account not change contact information nor have my account in a delinquent status due to the fact that I pay above what is required by the Department of Education. I only began to investigate this company because of the many different answers I had received from the representatives. Also, I have been paying this company for a year but my student debt has not at all decreased.Desired Settlement: I no longer wish to do any business with this company because of their unscrupulous business practices. I wish to have the contract declared null and void and to decease withdrawing any funds from my account. I will also be reporting this company to the Oregon Attorney General.

Our policy is to be very
thorough when we present our services to potential customers, we not only have
verification in our service agreement but we have a verbal verification of
services and we email a detailed Welcome Package that re-explains what those
services are. Our policy is that if a
customer is unhappy, we try to resolve their concerns and find resolution to
attain customer satisfaction. The Welcome Package contains the phone numbers
and contact information for client services. And, if money was collected for
services rendered and a customer is later wanting to cancel, we work with that
client to refund payment. We have spoken to this client and her account has been resolved.
Review: They have continued to call no stop. They have called 5 times in the last 3 days. Once I finally picked up it was dead on the other line, so I waited until someone picked up. That is when the person on the other line was very combative, and very rude. Insisting that my loans would be forgiven, after I had told him I was no longer interested due to their excessive calling. When asked to be taken off their list, I was told that they had no list. They had personal information regarding my loans and they were extremely unprofessional. This company needs to be controlled.Desired Settlement: Stop contacting me. Your company is a scam, and you truly have crossed the line. Please note that your business practices are actually hurting your bottom line. Look at all the complaints you have against you.

We have placed your phone number on our list to be removed. Please also note that we are not the only student loan consolidation company and you may be getting calls from other companies also.
Review: I was called by this company and was told that they could help consolidate my school loans and give me a low payment. Well this sounded like a good plan except that I was not even paying on my federal school loans and have been in the grace period until December. This company did not honor their promise to help me and instead charged me a very large fee $495 to "process" my loans. I talked with other friends and the other companies they are involved with do not charge a fee at all. This company took the funds out of my account without my permission and when asked to refund the money until they date I asked they refused. My bank account will reflect poorly because of the mistake this company made and the mistake I face of falling for their promise to help. I would like them to refund the money and remove me as a customer. I will continue to let other graduates know that there are better companies and companies that don't charge you fees. If they were not going to honor my request I should have been notified.Desired Settlement: I would like this company who has not helped me and did not honor my request to refund my money and remove me as a customer. This has affected my family and we do not have money to replace what they took from my account without my permission.

Ms. [redacted] signed a service agreement
contract with us on 7/02/14, which specified the date of her first payment of
7/18/14 which she acknowledged. Ms. [redacted] called us on 7/08/14 to change her payment date to 8/18/14 which
we made as an exception to assist her. She then contacted us again on 7/31/14
to change her payment date a second time to 9/18/14 at which point she was
informed that there was no guarantee on a second exception. Ms. [redacted] was drafted as per her first request
on 8/18/14 as a second exception could not be made.
We recently spoke with Ms. [redacted] on
8/20/14 at which point we offered multiple options in regards to future
payments since her services had already begun on 8/18/14. Ms. [redacted] denied any further assistance from
us and declined us to continue helping her in consolidating her student loans. In order to resolve this issue we will be
issuing a refund and closing her account with SLS managers.
Review: I was contacted by an account manager with SLS Managers on August 14, 2014 regarding my outstanding student loans. I was informed they were affiliated with the Federal Dept. of Education and would work on my behalf to substantially reduce my monthly loan payments and eventually my loans would be forgiven. On August 15, 2014, after once again speaking with the account manager and agreeing to their services, I was asked to sign a contract (while on the phone with the account manager) giving SLS Managers (NSProcessing) permission to assume management of my student loans and become my primary loan servicer. My initial payment of $250.00 (processing fee and first month payment) was scheduled to be deducted from my checking account on September 5, 2014. It was my understanding (as stated in the contract) that no work would be done on my account until this first payment was made. After doing more in depth research I learned that SLS Managers had misrepresented themselves and were in no way affiliated with the Federal Dept. of Education. On August 20, 2014 I requested in writing that my contract with SLS Managers (NSProcessing) be cancelled. I requested several more times to receive a status update regarding my cancellation request and finally received confirmation on September 4, 2014 that my request had been granted and that SLS Managers "has been released from all and any liability in managing and maintaining these accounts. We no longer have access to your servicers" . On September 5, 2014 SLS Managers deducted $250.00 from my checking account in spite of my contract being cancelled. Since my contract is cancelled and no work had been done (or would be done) on my account, SLS Managers no longer have any legal authority to debit my account.Desired Settlement: A full refund of the processing fee/initial payment in the amount of $250.00 to be refunded back to my checking account.

Ms. [redacted] has been contacted by our client services department with updates on her account
Review: I entered into a contract with SLS Managers May 2014 under the impression that they would handle the consolidation of my loans. During the process of the consolidation they took money from my account every month which I was told when I signed up would be paid to my loans because they were now handling them, that all seemed fine. Later I get an alert from my credit saying an address was changed for me which was their address being added to my credit. So next I tried logging into my loan accounts to see if payments were being made and I then found out I had been locked out of my accounts from where they changed my information. I then call both loan agencies and find out why and they inform me that I had called and updated everything when in fact I never did such. So the company had been impersonating me and when I called and asked about it they said it was part of my contract when really the contract said they would act on my behalf not act as me. Finally I get a letter home in the mail from Nelnet, my new loan company telling me that SLS was trying to change all my information there as well but they don't allow it so they can keep me informed. So I call them yesterday only to find out my consolidated loan is 6 days late even though SLS had taken the money out of my account on the due date. When I called and asked about it I was informed that all the payments they took was just sitting in a fund and they had never paid anything on my loans because they were waiting for paperwork to be approved. In short they are a sneaky manipulative company that only tells half the story and tries to phase you out of business concerning your loans so you don't know what to expect as far as your credit or payment history.Desired Settlement: I would like to be refunded all of my money they have been holding while interest piled up and cancelation of the contract

Ms.
[redacted] signed a service agreement contract with us which explained clearly the
services that we offer, the process of the services we offer, and approximate
time frame of the process. This contract
also includes all the fees associated with our service which she agreed to upon
signing the agreement.
On
10/21/14 we spoke to Ms. [redacted] regarding her account and we explained to her
that she was at the final stage and we were going to be sending the necessary
payments to her servicer. We tried to
explain to Ms. [redacted] the process and she was uncooperative and would not let
us assist her. Due to the misunderstanding of Ms. [redacted] and her not being
clear on our services and the process we have cancelled out Ms. [redacted]’s
account and have issued the proper refund.
Ms.
[redacted]’s account is now closed and we have been released from any liability in
managing her student loans.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Review: I was called by SLS to consolidate my student loan debt. After researching my options, I agreed to use them to help with my loan debt. I was told that they would handle all of my loans for the consolidation. Everything was set up and they took $500.00 out of my bank account. I started getting constant calls from my loan companies saying that I wsa going to default on my loans because they have not received a payment. I immediately called SLS and left several voicemails. I didn't receive any calls back so I called again and finally talked to a real person. I was told that 2 of my 3 loan companies were not covered by them even though they said they were and took my money. I spent around a hour on the phone with them the day before yesterday and was told that the manager would give me a call yesterday. That didn't happen. I called today and was told that the manager just hasn't been coming to work. I feel like I have been swindled out of $500 and they are not even willing to talk to me.Desired Settlement: I want my money put back in my checking account so I can make the payments that they did not. I am not willing to risk my credit over this.

Review: I am wanting to cancel my student loan consolidation and I want a refund. But they are telling that I can not cancel. I do not want to consolidate my student loans this way. I have called this place at least a total of 50 times and would not get an answer but the 2 times I did get to speak to someone on 10/7/14 and 10/29/14 I got the same answer its in processing. They tell you that you receive emails thru each process well I received 1 email and that was the every first email and never received another email after that. Just want it cancelled and a refund before 11/24/14 that is when the next payment is to come out.Desired Settlement: I would like my refund of my initial payment of 150.00 and my first payment of 55.09 refund back to me and my consolidation cancelled.

Review: I was contacted by SLS Managers on 8/12/14 regarding consolidation of my student loans and Loan Forgiveness program. After hearing out [redacted]'s sales pitch, I red the Revdex.com and read into the program. I sign documents signing up for the program to start 9/14/14. They were going to charge me $445.00 which was my loan payment at the time in order to cross over my payments to their services. From that Tuesday on I tried to stay in contact with [redacted] and it was a hit and miss. I had a nasty taste in my mouth since then. In the back of my mind since then I wanted to talk to someone regarding my account and when the charges would be debited. The next Tuesday after calling and emailing both the company and [redacted] and then not hearing either call or email back at SLS Mangers, I checked my account and noticed a $445.00 charge on 8/19/14. I attempted to call regarding the charge verbalizing that is not what we agreed on and did not get any response again either email or phone call. I sent [redacted] an email with a letter to cancel my contract, that same day. I mailed it certified return receipt and faxed it. On Monday 8/25/14, I finally received a call from Kat at NSProcessing regarding my letter to cancel, she left a voicemail. Since I was at work by the time I was able to call them it was after 7 pm central time, and I work 12 hour shifts, I attempted to call her the next day left another voicemail and never received a response. I feel like I was cheated $445.00 I understand what I was signing up for I understand this is a service that customers pay for but I did what my contract said to do and send written notice of cancelation prior to my loan program start date which was 9/14/14. I finally was able to get ahold of NSProcessing 9/8/14 and ended up speaking to [redacted] at NSProcessing who says I am ineligable to receive a refund because I did not send the notice prior to the loan start date which they said was 8/14/14, which I have no record of agreeing to.Desired Settlement: NSProcessing shows the payment being processed 8/18/14, which it was not debited out of my account until 8/19/14, which was the day I sent them my letter of cancelation. My contract was signed to start 9/14/14. I just want a refund and to foget I ever had this much trouble dealing with a company who was so hard to get ahold of.

Response:
Ms. [redacted] signed a service agreement with our company
on 8/12/14 and while on the phone with her loan manager they spoke in regards
to the date of her down payment. After
some back and forth they decided to start her program on 9/14/14 to give Ms.
[redacted] enough time to stop her auto debit with her previous servicer. Ms. [redacted] was informed however by her loan
manager that if she was successful in cancelling her auto debit before her down
payment date of 9/14/14 for her to call him or email him to let him know and
they would move up her down payment 1 month which would be 8/14/14. Ms. [redacted] did reply by saying “okay.”
On that same day 8/12/14 Ms. [redacted] emailed her loan
manager to inform him that she was able to stop her auto debit from her account
and because Ms. [redacted] had previously agreed with her loan manager verbally
that if she was able to stop her auto debit they would move up her down payment
to 8/12/14 she received a reply back from her loan manager letting her know
that she would be charged on 8/14/14 instead.
On 8/15/14 Ms. [redacted] emailed her loan manager to
confirm if her payment had gone through because she had not seen it processed
on her account yet. So Ms. [redacted] was aware that a payment was pending to be
processed on her account as she acknowledged this.
Ms. [redacted] did send a cancellation letter to us
dated 8/19/14 which was after the start of her program and per her agreement
she was no longer eligible to cancel and receive a refund as her request was
submitted after her start date.
We
have spoken to Ms. [redacted] several times already and on our last conversation
with her she did acknowledge that she had agreed to update her payment date to
8/14/14 if she was able to stop her auto debit and acknowledges that this is
the reason why she was sent an email confirming that we would make this change
on her account. We have been able to
come to a resolution with Ms. [redacted] and her account is now closed and we have
been released from any liability in managing her student loans.
Attached you will also find copies of the correspondence that Ms. [redacted] had with us.

Regards,
Review: My wife signed up for this purported college debt management service to get a lower monthly payment. She paid this company 50$ a month, but it did not make any payments to the loan holder, [redacted]. Instead, it repeatedly obtained forbearances. Thus, NONE of her monthly payments went toward actual payment of her loan. Instead, it was all pocketed by this company. On top of that, approximately 3 months ago the company stopped obtaining forbearances and made no payments to [redacted]. Because the company changed my wife's address on her [redacted] account to its California business address, we had no knowledge of this. We found out when a deficiency notice was filed on my wife's credit. This resulted in a nearly 60 point decrease in her credit rating. What his company is doing is criminal. My next step is to report them to the Califronia AG's Office and the FBI.
Review: This company continues to call my home on a daily basis. I have seen where they have said they don't call that much but I have a log with date and time as well as my caller ID. I contacted Verizon my phone provider and they stated they can supply me with a call list to prove that this company harasses me on a daily basis. I do not want to have them continue to call me and if it do not stop I will proceed with legal proceedings.Desired Settlement: Stop contacting me and stop calling my home or cell phone.
