Review: I have student loans with another servicer and was trying to reconsolidate my loans to lower my payments and found student loan service managers. They sent me paper work which I read and sounded fine. So I went with the agreement for them to beging paperwork to transfer my loans over to them from my current servicer. The date of process starting was October 15, 2014. They said a payment would come out of my bank account on November 15, 2014 to help pay fees fro transfering my loans. It is now Febraury 09, 2015 and nothing has been done and they have been drawing monthly payments out of my account. I need to know if this is a legitimate company and if not I need my money back. Help me please. Thanks.Desired Settlement: I want my money back from Student Loan Service Managers immediately. They have ripped me off enough and lied enough.

Review: The company SLS Managers has been contacting me regarding services with student loan consolidation and I have clearly stated that I was not interested in their services. I still receive anywhere from two to five phone calls a day asking if I would reconsider their services. I have politely declined these services numerous times and asked for my name to be removed from their call lists. Recently I have tried calling their customer service department directly and asked for my name to be removed from their call lists. The representative, whom never gave a name upon answering the call, kindly said she would assist me with the request but then promptly disconnected the call. This has happened more than once. The constant calls from this company is beginning to feel like harassment and is a huge waste of my time.Desired Settlement: I would only like for my name and telephone number to be removed from their call lists and be left alone.

Review: I was contacted by SLS Mangers who said they could lower my student loans. The payment I was paying to Nelnet, I was asked to pay 6/17 to SLS Managers as a down payment. Afterwards would be 115.92. When I had questions I would call only to get no where. I notice on my neltet account that my email, address and phone numbers had all been changed to their information. I called Nelnet back to change back to mine. Then only to have SLS change it back again. I did not give them permission to change phone numbers and addresses, so I could no longer see what was going on with my account. I told them I didnt want their service because nothing was fully explained and it just seemed fishy to me the more I read up on them. I called Nelnet for them to tell me that my consildation was declined because they were trying to use a limited power of attorny for my information and the department of education will not allow this. I called SLS back and they said Nelnet was lying to me. I have stopped the automatic draft from my bank account. They have also went into my Nelnet account and ask for a forbearence three times pushing back my payment due to them. SO not only are they taking my money they are messing my with Nelnet account.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of the 638.18 and 115.92. I never want to be contacted by them again and they should not hack into my Nelnet account changing my personal information.

On 6/15 SLS Managers began working on Ms. [redacted]'s file. On 7/1 Ms. [redacted] called into our office and made a verbal request to cancel her service agreement. In Section 21 of the agreement it states a client may cancel the contract by sending written notice before loan program begins. Based on this Ms. [redacted] is not eligible for a refund of her down payment, however we will issue a reund in the amount of $115.92 which is her first monthly installment. Ms. [redacted]'s loan consolidation process has been completed and her loans are now with Fedloan not Nelnet. This information was sent to Ms. [redacted] via email on 7/17. Ms. [redacted]s service agreement has been cancelled with SLS Managers and a refund has been issued for $115.92. Ms. [redacted] will not be charged any monthly fee's going forward.

Review: I was contacted by SLS Managers in November 2014 like I have been by other companies about their student loan forgiveness programs. The person I spoke to was [redacted]. I asked him if there were any fees involved for their services and he said no. I then said I would be interested in student loan forgiveness if I qualified, so he agreed to help me out over the phone. I also noticed their website contained the Revdex.com seal of approval so I thought they would be a good company to go with. I was required to give him information including name, address, social security number, income, etc. He told me my loan payments would be $130.35 per month. He stated my first payment would be $187.00 on December 15, 2014. I then had $130.35 withdrawn from my account on January 15, 2015 and February 15, 2015 believing the entire time these were loan payments that I was making because this is what Mr. [redacted] explained to me. Then I started receiving letters from Student Loan Servicing with the U.S. Dept. of Education telling me my loan payments would be due starting the end of may and they would be $279. I called SLS managers to ask them what this was about and they told me they were not actually servicing my loans but that I was actually making loan payments and everything hadn't been transferred over yet and not to worry about it as payments would remain $130.35 monthly. I contacted Federal Loan Servicing on 3/13/15 and they told me I have not been making payments on my loans at all and they will never see the money I am giving to SLS managers. I have now also determined that there is a $492 yearly renewal fee that I was never told about over the phone when I talked to Mr. [redacted]. In fact, I was told there were no fees in involved. I feel that I have been scammed into using SLS Managers' services and they have been lying to me. Federal Loan Services told me to contact my bank and stop payments to SLS immediately as they have seen this with a lot of their customers. I am highly dissatisfied with the services.Desired Settlement: I am requesting I receive a full refund of the three payments I have made including the December, 15, 2014 payment of $187, the January 15, 2015 payment of $130.35, and the February 15, 2015 payment of $130.35 for a total of $447.70 due to receiving misleading and incorrect information via a phone conversation. The customer services reps need to be forthcoming with all payment information in the future via the phone conversations.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I specifically asked for a refund in the amount of $447.70. I sent a certified letter to SLS Managers expecting a prompt response and have not received one. I was mislead into believing I was paying on my student loans and because I was not, I expect a full refund IMMEDIATELY in the form of a check sent by certified mail. I have been informed the Federal Trade Commission is well aware of these fraudulent practices taking place. If this issue is not resolved I see no other resolve than to have my lawyer be in contact with SLS Managers and can expect to see them in court. Thanks you for your prompt response to this matter.

Review: Unfortunately, I have just realized I have become a victim of the private consolidation service company (SLS managers) which lied to me and continues to take advantage of the contract I signed over a year ago. Calling recently to simply inquire what the current balance of my loan was (which no one could tell me), I found out that not only has none of the money Ive sent to them been used to pay my loan, but I have paid over $600 to them in fees (more explanation below). As a contract signer they have told me I cannot cancel the contract without tarnishing my credit score (which is impeccable). So, here are the facts:
1. My students loans originally totaled some 23,000.
2. Before signing with them I was told they work for the Dept of Education and that there would be no fees collected by their company (SLS managers). Turns out this was false, and in just a year I have paid over $600 to the SLS managers company and if I stick with the contract will pay another $500 in fees this year.
3. So far I have paid about 5,000 to my loans, however, none of the money was actually
used to pay the principle of the loan. With the money I have been sending they created a trust account (without my consent) and have been collecting interest on my payments without paying my loan down at all (which means I am still paying interest on the total of the original loan).
4. Now that I want to cancel, despite their threats of ruining my credit, I cannot get a hold of anyone. I have called three times and have remained on hold for a total of 30 minutes for each without being able to reach someone. I have emailed and received no response. I am up in arms.
This cant be legal. I was lied to and taken advantage of. Companies like this should not be allowed to swindle and run under false pretenses, especially when they are preying on fresh college students just trying to get out of debt.Desired Settlement: I want to cancel my contract immediately without any tarnish to my credit and be reimbursed for all the exorbitant fees (~$700) they have charged me.

Our policy is to be very
thorough when we present our services to potential customers, we not only have
verification in our service agreement but we have a verbal verification of
services and we email a detailed Welcome Package that re-explains what those
services are. Ms. [redacted] was rendered full services from us and we have been implementing payments to her federal loans. Every cent that Ms. [redacted] has paid to be applied to her loans has been implemented and we are more than happy to show Ms. [redacted] this information. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. The business performed this action, although rudely and refusing to give me any information on how to follow up on my loan after termination. They also refused to inform me whether or not I had been penalized for ending my contract early. They said they contacted me and did not. They also said they verbally confirmed the exorbitant fees they changed me in the beginning of my contract and this was also a lie. Hesitantly, I consider this complaint resolved.

Review: I was contacted by SLS managers in September of 2014 to consolidate my student loans. I was told that because of my employment in a not for profit field I qualified for a fixed repayment term of 10 years. The terms as set by them were I would make a normal payment for September and the recurring payments of $46 through direct debit and they would pay off my loans through [redacted]. At the time of their phone call I researched the company through Revdex.com and found that they had an A+ rating. This has obviously since changed. I received a phone call from [redacted] on February 3, 2015 stating I was 88 days past due. I looked into it further and found out that [redacted] has zero record of a consolidation from a third party. I have asked for and not received access to where my payments have been going every month.Desired Settlement: I would like my account cancelled and a refund of the payments they debited from my checking account.

This response basically says nothing. Yes, I was contacted by a person from Nation Secure Processing and was told that they were a manager for SLS Management. I was told that the repayment terms of my student loans had not been answered to SLS Management. I was given the information to cancel my account and am in the process of doing so. My complaint remains that I paid for "services" that were never actually rendered. I am still requesting a full refund as they have not held up what they claimed they were going to do.

Ms. [redacted] was provided with a service agreement which explained the exact service that we offer and was also informed in detail by her assigned loan manager the service we perform and our process. Do not do business with SLS Managers!
*They are difficult to get a hold of and do not usually call back when they say they will.
*Their website has very little information: they do not update that your payment was processed, they do not include information such as how much/if any of your payment went toward interest.
*I gave them my new routing information 6 times before they finally got it changed (they pulled it from the wrong bank after I "changed" it with them the first time) but the website still doesn't have the correct information.
Review: This company has continued to call me after I have asked to be placed on the DNC list and have said my phone number is on the National DNC list. They call acting as though they are on the phone and if we get disconnected to call them back then they disconnect the call. On 9/12/14 I called and asked for a manager when this happened, the male said just a moment and said he woud tranfer me. He transfered me to a nonworking line. I called back then when I called back just like every other time I called asking for a manager you are then lied to that there are no managers there they are on lunch and that you can't speak to someone. Also they are not to be on the phone when managers aren't there. I have recieved 7 calls between 9/9/14 and 9/15/14 and I am not sure how many prior to that since I have gotten a new cell phone and my records were not on there. This company is harrassing people. I never signed up and never wanted information. They went as far as to tell me that I wasn't paying on my student loans which in fact wasn't true. My loans are current and up to date.Desired Settlement: Stop contacting me and stop harrassing others as well. CLOSE THEM DOWN

Review: This company called me, a cold call from a lead they bought somehow, offering to consolidate my student loan and offered to make the monthly payments smaller than what I was currently paying. Without reading the fine print before signing I just listened to the sales lady as she clearly mislead me into thinking the payments I authorized to start coming out of my bank were going directly to paying down my student loan and nothing else. She in no way explained the firs charge agreed upon of $340 was only an initial startup cost and that they don't actually use that money to pay your loan down as I got late notices hurting my credit for lack of payment the following month, later discovered they are a very common new wave of barley legal scam's that keep that money, and only offer you the abilty to use their services which only help match you with potential options after 60-90 days if you qualify and only after taking multiple payments out of your account. After quickly understanding the scam and my mistake of trusting them, They refuse to explain anything clearly and after a floor agent said there is a way to get a refund, a manager "[redacted]" explained there is no refund possible at anytime for any reason even if cancelled an hour after the debit is made, stating they abide by all federal and state guidelines with the recession policy , even though he was unaware of what the word recession was until explained. He then directed me to email their processing department, which was the same group of people after later dialing their number, to cancel, I emailed them asking to cancel account and explaining all the steps of legal action I plan on taking including this for refusing to offer a even a partial refund although it was clear the compnay uses shady and tricky sales tactics and is willing to say one thing on recording to people but then follow up with a different answer to yes and no questions regarding the refund policy. They are causing alot of people some rough times..Desired Settlement: Something appropriate to the $340 that was taken by misleading what it was going to be used towards. Even a partial refund would possibly satisfy

Review: I have been asking not to be called by this business for months. I am called nearly every day, sometimes multiple times a day. I answer when I can, am met with silence, and then hung up on. So I call back and speak to a representative, and then ask to be removed from their calling list. Every person I have spoken to "assures" me that I will stop receiving calls within one or two days. This has been going on for MONTHS. I have even tried blocking their number through my cell phone. The company then switches my contact information to another outbound calling list and begins calling me from a different number. This has happened no less than three times. This is harassment and it needs to stop.Desired Settlement: Just stop calling me! Now!

Regards,
Review: I signed up with SLS Managers last July as they said I qualify for the 10 year loan forgiveness program. I have paid them each month but they have not provided the service despite several attempts to contact them and I have had to work with my student loan company myself. When I call their office, I usually get a voicemail and no call back. When I have gotten a hold of someone, they say they will resolve the issue's and get back to me but never do and I am unable to get in contact with the same person but am transferred to another new person. When I was finally given access to my online account with them this month, I found out I don't even qualify for the loan forgiveness program. They said I have to continue paying them until my contract in July is up even though they areally not providing the service agreed upon. I have submitted an email to them outlining my complaints and my wish to terminate or contract.Desired Settlement: I would like our contract to be terminated as the services agreed upon have not been provided and they signed me up for a service that was not available to me. I also believe it's appropriate for me to no longer pay them add the contract will no longer be valid.

Review: I signed my contract with Student Loan Service managers on November 14, 2014, and after reading over the contract, I would like to cancel my services. According to their contract, I have three days to cancel with no penalties. I emailed them three times on Monday, November 17, 2014, and called multiple times with no response. I would like to get this matter settled as soon as possible before any money is taken out of my account. They are not consolidating my loans, they are managing them with a surcharge that is more than the interest being paid on my loan. Student Loan Services managers were very quick to talk you into signing something without reading it (my fault), but they insisted it had to be done then on the phone to get the deal on the "loan forgiveness." The contract does not state how much of the loan is being forgiven.

Review: This company has been calling me every day, sometimes more than once a day, for the past month. I call back every time they call me and plead with them to take me off their call list. I've been laughed at, hung up on, and treated like garbage by the people that answer this company's phones. And they don't always call from the same number. I'll block their number on my phone and then the next day they're calling from a new number.
Every time I call and request to be taken off their list they tell me that I'm put on their do not call list. But then they call again. I have no choice but to report them and maybe then they'll stop calling me.Desired Settlement: I just want this company to stop calling me as I've asked every single time they call.

Review: SLS Managers filed a request for a loan consolidation without my permission. I had previously spoke to [redacted] on May 6th, 2014 about the options I was eligible for loan forbearance. After determining the loan options SLS had were not a fit for me I informed them I did not want to go through with the program and to cancel all request and personal information that they had on file. I then spoke to floor manager [redacted] who cancelled the program [redacted] signed me up for. I was assured I would have no problems. I received two cancellation notices from SLS Managers one on May 6th, 2014 and one on May 14th, 2014. I then believed the process had been cancelled and would have no problems. On July 29th, 2014 I logged on to mohela.com to pay my monthly student loan payment to find out my account information was unknown and unavailable. I called mohela who informed me my loan had been consolidated to Fed Loan Servicing. When speaking with Fed Loan Servicing the loan had been switched to my maiden name, had two phone numbers which I had never had, and an address that was not mine. I was told to call the Ohio Dept. of Education the US Dept of Education and Revdex.com to file a complaint to have the consolidation reversed due to the request being made without my permission. I believe Fed Loan Servicing said the request was made July 10, 2014 which is two months after the cancellation had been processed. The fraudulent company also made an account on Fed Loan Servicing using an email that was not mine and had made a user name to access my student loans. When I tried calling the phone numbers I had been given by SLS Managers they say all circuits are busy or the number is no longer in service. I am very frustrated about being passed around from person to person and company to company someone has to be able to reverse the consolidation that I did not allow. Finally Fed Loan Servicing send in a request for reversal to the DOE which can take up to 60 days.Desired Settlement: I want my student loan to be reversed back to mohela. I do not want my loan serviced by Fed Loan Servicing and I want all the original terms to my student loan. I do not need a payment change or lower monthly payment. I do not want an interest change. I want exactly what I had with mohela. I believe SLS Mangers is a fraudulent company who needs to be shut down for taking personal information from individuals and consolidating their loans without permission and giving false phone numbers, addresses, and email addresses so they can control all aspects of an account. I would have never known my loan was consolidated unless I called mohela, I would have kept paying mohela and never paid Fed Loan Servicing which would have accrued interest on my student loan and ruined my credit. The consolidation needs to be reversed and SLS Managers needs reprimanded or shut down.

Review: I consolidated my student loans with SLS last August and have made a payment monthly of $240.73. I went in to look at my loans and saw that no payment has been made since August of 2014. All of my loans are deferred. I am in school but did not request deferments so where is my money going? I sent an email because I want documentation of everything but no one replied. WHERE IS MY MONEY? That is $2,888.76 at least that SLS has taken from me. I thought for sure I was missing something. My only repercussion is to stop payment through my bank which I will do tomorrow.Desired Settlement: I want the sum of my payments back and I want the SLS contract discontinued. I was contacted and told that my money was being held in a trust account as it was not applied monthly to my loans which have been in forbearance but not upon my request. The loans were originally placed in forbearance status (July 2014) while undergoing consolidation (should have been a 2-3 month time period) but I made payments during this period. The loans never came out of forbearance status after consolidation as the company promised. I began full time class again in January and the company claimed this is why my loans were in forbearance and payments applied to a trust account. But I did not request an in school deferment so I'm sure this company is dishonest. My loan payments began in July of 2014 and my loans have been in forbearance since this time without my knowledge. My classes began in January of 2015 at which time I opted out of in school deferment. Deferment and forbearance are two different categories and I've always used deferment, not forbearance. My payments have supposedly been going to said trust account since July of 2014.I told them I wanted to end the contract and that the money in the trust account needs to be returned to me. They confirmed they would return my money but not until month (July 2015) end to ensure that I am not refunded twice. I'm not sure how this would happen. I researched the listed address for this company and the only company affiliated with the address is a window company. I don't consider this situation resolved because I don't have my money back and I don't know how much they will actually refund after potential but not mentioned fees applied. The company owes me a little over $2,700 after subtracting the two stop payments enforced by the bank. I also doubt the efficiency of this company and therefore receipt of my refund for the following: After I spoke with someone regarding the account status, another company representative called me to collect the last two months' payments which were stop paid. I had to close an account and open a new one thanks to all of this. On a good note, at least someone called me and also responded to the Revdex.com.

Review: SLS Managers contacted me and offered to take over my student loans from my original loaner for less money per month. I agreed to sign up with them on 07/21/14. On 08/21/14 they took $400 for their service fee from my bank account. I did not receive a bill from my original loaner, so I assumed that SLS Managers had taken over my student loans. I contacted my original loaner on 09/10/14 only to be told that my account is still active with them, and my account access has been changed by SLS Managers, so I can no longer access my account. They changed my password, email contact, and security questions to my account with my original loaner. I have placed several calls and numerous emails to [redacted] who is a representative of SLS Managers with no reply. I believe they are scamming me, as I am now in the process of trying to gain access to my original loaners account and pay the missed payments. I am due to have a payment removed on Monday 09/22/14 from SLS Managers for $221.00Desired Settlement: I want my contract considered null and void with SLS Managers due to breach of contract, and I want to be refunded for all money taken from my bank account.

We have reached out to Ms. [redacted] about her concerns on
her account and clarified the process along with the portion of her contract
that states the steps we take to perform our services. We also provided Ms. [redacted] with our client
services contact number in case she needs anything further and had an email
sent to her with recent updates on her account. After Ms. [redacted]’s conversation with
us she was okay with the process and continuing on with us servicing her
account.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.
Regards,
Review: On August 19, 2014, I was contacted by a representative from SLS Managers in regards to my student loans. The loan officer I spoke with ([redacted]) represented his company as being part of the Department of Education and promised a 20 year tax free repayment/forgiveness program. To date, I have made two payments to this company totaling $450 and have come to find out that this company is not a part of, or affiliated with the Department of Education. I have also received a bill from FedLoan.org which indicates that the payments I have made to SLS Managers has not gone towards the repayment of my student loans, no are they authorized to "forgive" any amount of my student debt. I have tried multiple times to contact this company, and its affiliated payment processing company National Secure Processing and am not able to reach any service representatives to answer the many questions I have regarding the details of this service. The loan officers at SLS Managers directed me to contact National Secure Processing, which I have done, only to reach a recording stating "[redacted] Can't take your call."Desired Settlement: Would like a refund of all monies paid to SLS Managers through the use of their payment processing affiliate National Secure Processing and my contract terminated as this company has falsely represented themselves as well as the services they would provide.

Response:
Our policy is to be very thorough when we
present our services to potential customers, we not only have verification in
our service agreement but we have a verbal verification of services and we
email a detailed Welcome Package that re-explains what those services are. We
have emailed Ms. [redacted] with status updates and most recently we tried to
reach her directly to address her account, but we were unable to leave a
message for her as her voicemail box is full. We did follow up with another
email with status on her account and provided our correct call back number so
she may call us for further assistance and so we may address any concerns she
may have.
Review: September I attempted to consolidate all of my student loans. I have federal and one private loan to consolidate. I was told not to make double payments on the private loan because it too would be consolidated and there is no need to make double payments. It has now been almost 2 months and my federal loans are not consolidated, and I have now fallen 2 months behind on my private loan. Which had I known or been told that the private loan will not be included I would have NEVER agreed to consolidate at all. I have recently learned that my agent who signed me up is no longer working here, no one called me or would tell me this from this company. He actually got contacted me himself. Since he was the one who made up my contract and included my private loan all current information about my loan information on the contract is WRONG! No one has bothered to fix it, or contact me about this. After looking at my contract and actually getting to read over it since the agent rushed me through it over the phone I noticed that I am to pay them 599 dollars the first year. Now you tell me if I am to pay them that much and my monthly payment is 44 dollars for my loans, how is any of my money paying off my loans?? Sounds like I'm just lining their pockets. I have since contacted Jeff Lewis who is a manager was told by him someone would contact me and I have not been contacted I do however continue to call. I need this resolved, I am very upset that I have been scammed.Desired Settlement: I want ALL of my money back and to get these people out of my life. I simply want my money refunded which is the 225 dollars they took for start up, that I was told would only be 200 and the payment they took of 44.08 for the month of October when my loans have yet to be consolidated. I want no part of doing business with people who are going to lie to me and misguide and misinform me of information. And who do not take responsibility for their employees actions.
