the consumer, Priceline confirmed the wrong datesThe consumer states:
“I
suspected this is not uncommon..., the computer books the "wrong"
date on the non-refundable ticket and then they take a 50% fee

priceline, once the consumer provides all the details of his/her trip on our website,
we summarize the consumer’s request, including the travel dates selected, on the
consumer’s check-out page, (attached)The consumer is then asked to review the
details/summary of the trip, and initial the box at the end of the summary to
authorize the terms and conditions of the purchase, and confirm that the travel
details selected, including the selected dates are accurateIf the consumer’s
offer summary shows a mistake, or wrong date, the consumer can go back and
change it before he/she clicks "Buy My Hotel Room Now."
Attached hereto is a copy of the
consumer’s initialed contract page agreeing to non-refundable terms and
conditions of the purchase, including the March chedate selected
As
requested, Priceline confirmed the travel date selected and authorized by the
consumer
The consumer was offered the courtesy option to cancel the
reservation with the option to rebook with Priceline for the correct dates If the reservation is canceled, there will be
a cancelation fee equal to the cost of one nightThe cancellation of this

Sorry I could find no way to cancel this complaint earlier. I have been assured they would look into why the "canel for any reason" choice for insurance is not available during their checkout process. It is available at the cruise line as they know how easy it is to resell a cruise cabin. You should not be intimidated by "buy now or else tactics" like those presented at checkout times

I am rejecting this response because my cancellation was immediate and the car rental *** was more than willing to cancel my reservation When I spoke to them(Priceline) that evening I was given the round around of telling me to call *** I told them that it was made in error Since this was my first experience with Priceline I feel they should extend the courtesy to refund my money after the treatment I received from their customer representativesI really feel they just took my money and I would really like to get my refund

This verbose restatement of policy does nothing to justify the misleading description of Priceline.com's offer
By definition "The *** *** ***" (The Strip) is an area of a single street; *** *** *** *** The hotel we received after booking is (citing Priceline.com's website) "Less than two miles from The *** *** ***..." Intentionally and materially misrepresenting the location of the booked hotel has two effects:
1) Priceline.com obtains a lower rate compared to hotels with comparable amenities which are actually, physically, located on The Strip These rates are represented to the consumer as similar to hotels actually, physically, located on The Strip. This misleads consumers into believing Priceline is offering hotels on The Strip at a discount; resulting in higher booking rates
2) Consumers, being mislead in the manner above, must incur additional transportation costs to reach the location falsely described by Priceline.com Transportation to/from locations actually on The Strip adds an average $round-trip cost Therefore, Priceline.com's misrepresentation will cost us $per day, for a total cost of $ Therefore, our stay could have been booked at any comparable hotel, physically located on The Strip, at or below final costsThis material misrepresentation, as a Priceline.com business practice2, should be discouraged and advertised by consumer advocates - in order to reduce industry adoption of similar schemes1 Citations on location of The *** *** ***: "The *** *** *** is a stretch of *** *** *** *** ** *** *** ***.." - Wikipedia
