Review: I have banked with PNC for 27 years. I set up overdraft protection yesterday and was told, per employee Tanisha B[redacted], that it would go into effect that day. I looked at my bank account today and I have 2 overdraft charges. This is ridiculous and clearly I don't have the money to pay them. I was told I was going to be covered and clearly that is not the case. I spoke to Jasmine on the phone today and was told that I couldn't get a refund on the charges. This is a problemDesired Settlement: I would like the overdraft charges refunded. Simple as that

Review: I have been charged a $36 overdraft fee on my PNC Bank account. This is in addition to a total lifetime of over $200 of overdraft fees which I have paid since the inception of this account.
I had three fees "waived" when in reality I should have never gotten them in the first place as each time I had received an overdraft fee during this timeframe, I had been reassured by PNC Bank that I had overdraft protection set up. I asked for this fee to be waived, and PNC Bank said that they had waived fees for me three times previously due to my own errors. This is false.
I have experienced a time of extreme financial hardship. I have just finished college and am unemployed with a mountain of student debt to repay. I have been a loyal PNC Bank customer for over four years. The $36 fee I am being charged is deducting directly from the money I would hope to use to buy my groceries this month. This fee may seem innocuous to PNCBank, but it means the world to me. Not to mention that I promptly paid the fee back just one day later.
I am more than willing to end my relationship with PNCBank entirely, by closing my accounts and the accounts of everyone in my household with them. I am more than willing to explore opening an overdraft line of credit with PNC if they can work with me on this.Desired Settlement: I would like my $36 back. If this is the case, I will remain a PNC Customer and open an overdraft line of credit. If not, I will close my account entirely.

Review: I had my [redacted] bill set up for auto pay on my pnc debit card.there were some problems with my caretakers,i'm disabled and live with family members.the electric got turned off and I had to give them $700 to get the electric turned back on.I knew my payment was scheduled for 7/6/2016 but there wasn't enough money to cover the payment.I assumed they would deny the payment,I would get an overdraft fee of $36 and I would get straightened out with [redacted] next week when my disablility check goes in.instead they said it was at their discretion to put the payment thru which put me at -$22 plus the $36 overdraft fee pushed that to -$58.its my checking account, everything should be at MY discretion, not theirs so they can make money.once again,THERE WAS NOT ENOUGH MONEY to cover this transaction but they put it thru anyway at THEIR discretion costing me a -$58 balance and an additional $8 per day for everday my account is in negative balance.my check doesn't get deposited until 7/13/2016Desired Settlement: this should not be allowed to happen, changes need to be made to banking policies so they just can't money off of customers because its at their discretion

Review: The branch asked me if I wanted overdraft protection on my account so I agreed. They told me I was approved for $11,000.00 on a overdraft protection credit card and it cost nothing but the interest the credit card would charge you if balances were transferred to it. on March 30th the overdraft protection was used and the Bank charged me a total of $434.00 in fees for using the overdraft protection.Desired Settlement: I want all of the fees returned to me and I will close the overdraft protection

Review: I currently bank through PNC. For the 3rd time now, this bank has over drafted my account, and says it is my fault. I had filed a dispute through an agency back in February of 2016. My money was returned to my account, the overdraft was fixed, and I made sure it was current. Now all of a sudden, it is overdrafted again for the same issue, and this time PNC, is the ones who overdrafted my account. I called and spoke with Suzie, she is a manager there, and she stated that after a dispute is filed, and if it is not accepted, 5 days after, they will pull the money back out. Well, needless to say, I checked my account, $39.95 was pulled from my account, plus the over draft charges. Three of those at $36.00, plus an additional $7 per day. This is ridiculous. Suzie stated, that is why my account is in the negative, and it is because PNC did NOT notify me in enough time to make sure the money was there. I received the statement THREE days AFTER my account was in the negative. Again, this is the THIRD time, and I want my account fixed, BY THEM, and my account to be CLOSED! I'm not being ripped off by a FEDERAL AGENCY, that knows what they are doing! Any questions, please call me. My check is deposited in this Friday, the 13th, and because of PNC, I won't have a paycheck to my bills!Desired Settlement: I want PNC, to fix the account, where I will not be in the negative. They could have resolved this issue by contacting me ahead of time. I don't want to be in the negative, and I want it fixed so I can open an account elsewhere!

Review: We were denied a loan for a conversion handicap van. The APPROVED check, from PNC bank in Charlotte will be bounced by Michelle [redacted], a staff member in a upper position. She looked at the value of a 2010 Dodge van and told us our van was worth $14,000. What she did not take into account was that the van is a converted van to accommodate a wheelchair. The conversion cost $19,000. The underwriters also denied the loan because they too have misinformation. I can send you the picture, information, etc of the van. We bought a 2010 converted van because it had low mileage,is in really good shape, but more importantly we can transport my 39 year disabled son to doctors, hospitals, and dinner with us. The bank approved the loan, then changed their mind. My son is the one who suffers. I would like the bank to apologize to us and grant us the loan for the price of the conversion van within 2 days. I would also like any damaged credit score for myself and my husband to be returned to pre-loan level. Thank you.

Review: I have had a nightmarish experience over the past few months with PNC mortgage. My biggest worry at this time is that due to incompetence on the part of PNC mortgage, PNC has contacted credit agencies with the intent of lowering my credit score. I assert here that through no fault of my own, my loan balance has been badly managed. These credit agencies are:
• Equifax
• TransUnion
• Experian
• Any other smaller credit rating agencies
I’d like to outline my experience here:
May 29th 2016: I sent in a check for my June 1st payment of $1250.00. The required payment is $1200.62 monthly but I like to add some extra principle payment as well. At this time I also set up an automatic payment option beginning July 1st.
June 28th 2016: I received a call from collections at PNC indicating that the bank had only accepted $1050.00 instead of the full payment I had written the check for. PNC indicated that there may have been a mistake with the check, but was unable to send or show me any documentation asserting as much. I chose at that time to make a “good faith” payment of $157.62 ($7 was the processing fee, which is actually ridiculous because no other banks asked me to pay a processing fee for payments) to complete the payment. I asked the representative at the time if there was any problem with my July automatic payment and they assured me that it should go through. The representative told me at the time that everything should be balanced out with my loan for June. At this time, had I known there were any additional issues with the loan balance, I would have completed the payment.
July 7th 2016: I received a check in the mail for $1050.00 from PNC mortgage. Unsure what this was for and why it was sent to me, I cashed the check on July 11th.
July 20th 2016: I spoke with 2 representatives from PNC. They informed me that I have an outstanding balance for both June and July. This is because when they sent me the check for $1050.00 which had previously been processed by PNC and then re-sent to me (and the representative never informed me of when I made my good faith payment to balance out my account) this shorted my balance and automatically cancelled my July automatic payment.
On July 20th I sent a check for $2,250.62 to close my statement. The check was processed on July 26th. Surprisingly, I received a call on July 26th from PNC bank indicating that I was overdue again. This time I was short by $150.62. For some reason PNC sent me a check for $150.62 the same day that my $2,250.62 check was processed. I was able to work with the PNC bank representative to both cancel the $150.62 check, she placed a “stop payment” on the check and waived my late fee.
July 29th – I received another call from PNC bank indicating I was short $15, for an inspector fee. Apparently, when your account is overdue for 45 days, the bank sends someone to assess the property. I had no indication that this was happening and I received no notice for this inspection until after the fact. Because PNC’s actions are what have caused my account to be overdue for longer than the 45 days, I do not believe that I should pay this fee. This issue has not been resolved at this time.
Twice, I made payments to bring my balance current (June 28th and July 20th). On both occasions, that same day PNC sent me a check to be processed and then asked me to make the payment again to make up for the checks that were sent to me. On each of these occasions PNC charged me a $44 late fee that I was able to have waived. It seems to me that the bank is actively trying to make my account overdue to receive late fees and keep my account below balance. I do not understand why the bank would ask me to make a payment, accept it and then resend me the money to call my account overdue.
There would have been no way for me to know that my balance was low between June 28th and July 1st when the July payment should have gone through. PNC processing my payment and then retroactively rejecting it caused my balance to be low for over 45 days. This has also caused a property inspection that I am now somehow responsible for. The representative on the phone informed me that after 30 days credit rating agencies would be contacted. I ask that PNC retract any correspondence they have had regarding my loan with credit agencies and fully restore my credit to its state before PNC representatives mis-communicated the state of my loan.
I also ask that PNC delete the unnecessary $15 charge for the property assessment.
I have also been informed that during my loan transfer from [redacted] Mortgage to PNC my annual insurance payment was paid twice. (3/15 by [redacted] and 4/20 by PNC) This has resulted in a shortage of my Escrow account of $315. The customer service representative I spoke to indicated that I would need to pay the full balance of $315 back to PNC (for PNC’s mistake, mind you) and contact my insurance company. Because PNC did not do its due diligence before sending payments to my insurance company I now have the inconvenience of contacting my insurance agency to demand a refund of $315 and sending an additional check to PNC.
In addition to my previous requests, I ask that if there is any way my loan can be managed by another bank, any other bank, that you please transfer my loan. My experience since my loan was transferred to PNC has been absolutely horrendous. You can look at my record; I have never been late on any payments, car or home, and had a great credit rating before getting transferred. Working with PNC has been a nightmare.Desired Settlement: My desired outcome would be a restoration of my credit score after PNC's badly managed payment system failed me.

Re: Mortgage Payments for July, August and September
Dte: August 30, 2016
I am in receipt of your letter dated August 22, 2016 regarding my loan status. My loan status should not be delinquent.
I spoke with someone last Tuesday or Wednesday regarding the mixup of my three months' mortgage payment for the months of July, August and September. It is my understanding from the customer service representative at ###-###-#### that this error on the part of PNC would be researched and hopefully resolved.
A check numbered [redacted] from the [redacted] Credit Union, dated July 1, 2016 to PNC Mortgage in the amount of $2,055.78; this amount was for July, 2016, August, 2016 and September, 2016. The mortgage for each of those months was $585.26. An additional $300.00 ($100.00 towards the principal for July, August and September). I am not facing any financial hardships; please resolve this!!!
I am disappointed that I have been labeled delinquent in my mortgage payment for August and not receiving credit for the mortgage payments I made for the months of August and September. There should be no late fee or penalty towards my account. You received a check for $2,055.78.
It's challenging for me to understand how this situation became so catastrophic. I want someone at PNC to explain to me why this happened in the first place.
Please correct whatever procedure you use to credit payments towards my mortgage loan; I do not want my credit to be jeopardized. This should not have happened since you had these payments well in advance.
If there are questions regarding this letter I can be emailed at [redacted] or call me at ###-###-####.
I am also requesting a letter be sent to me regarding this matter and that it has been corrected/resolved and that I will not be charged a late fee because my mortgage was not late. So as not to interfere with my credit score.
Thank you in advance for your help in resolving this problem.

Review: On 7/01/16 My sister transferred $500 from her PNC checking account into my PNC checking account through a service they call pop money. The bank website states transaction will take 3 business days. My sister called the bank prior to doing the transaction and was advised a time length of 3-5 business days for the money to be deposit on my account. Well, today is 7/7/16, and the money is not in my account. A charged was presented to my account, and of course I was hit with a $36.00 overdrawn fee immediately. I called the bank this morning and was advised that the money will not be available up until 7/11/16.
The bank is falsely advertising on their website, plus lying to their customers and giving false information whenever we call the bank. I know that if another charge is presented for payment, the bank will hit me again with another $36.00 overdrawn fee. This is a very poor business ethics. We, as customers deserve some respect from the PNC bank.
Thank youDesired Settlement: Since the money was already taken from my sister's account, funds should be deposit in my account no later than 7/8/16,

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
I started an account online in 11/2015. The promo was for $150 if you direct deposited $2000 and had one bill pay within 60 days or $300 for same bill pay and $5000 direct deposit. I fulfilled requirements for the $300 promotion. I called eight different times and visited the branch once. On my third call I spoke with a rep in Pittsburgh who was the most helpful. She found my promotion, verified that I had met the criteria and gave me a reference number. She said to wait until the end of the month and I should see my promo deposited. I did see one for $100, but when I called back I was told that was all I qualified for. That wasn't even part of the promo. Subsequent calls were met with the same response even though I had the reference number verifying that I met the criteria
Review: On 7/26/2016 PNC bank in [redacted] charged me 4 insuffient fees of $39 each. I am disputing these fees because their mobile app gave me incorrect information. I checked my available balance on Monday 7/25/2016 and the mobile app told me I ha $122.00 available in my account. I had a few different pending charges but those were already subtracted from my balance. I went to 2 different stores on 7/25 and made 2 separate transactions based on my available balance on the mobile app. The next day they charged me for insuffient fees. Their app gave me incorrect information. Because of this banking error they charged me several more insuffient fees for the next 3 days. They charged me for 8 insuffient fees at $39 each. I called the branch and spoke to the manager Amy and she did nothing to look into this or help me. She was insulting to me and raised her voice to me. I advised her that I would like to file a complaint and 5 seconds later, she said she did. My husband called and spoke to her boss and he did nothing to investigate this or help us either. All of the pending charges were already pending and subtracted from my available balance. PNC has untrustworthy information on their mobile app. I was never provided any kind of proof about my insuffient fees. The way they have it listed on my bank account doesn't even show I was short money. They just charged me insuffient fees and it never reflects where I was supposedly short of money.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of $312 and an apology from this branch. I expect they should investigate their mobile app providing false information.

Review: ON 7/18 MY ACCOUNT WAS OVERDRAWN BY $118.54. I WAS TOLD IF I DEPOSIT CASH THE FUNDS WILL BE AVAIALBLE IMMEDIATELY TO COVER ANYTHING PENDING. THEREFORE I WENT TO AN ATM AND DEPOSITED $130 CASH SAME DAY THROUGH A PNC ATM MACHINE AT A BRANCH. I ATTEMPTED TO DEPOSIT BEFORE 10 PM BUT THE ATM THAT I TRIED TO DO IT ON 1ST SAID IT WAS NOT TAKING DEPOSITS AND I HAD TO DRIVE TO THE CLOSEST BRANCH IT WAS PROBABLY 10:10 PM BY THE TIME I DEPOSITED THE FUNDS. AFTER SPEAKING SEVERAL TIMES WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE THEY STATED WHEN FUNS ARE DEPOSITED CASH THEY ARE AVAILABLE IMMEDITATELY.
HOWEVER THIS WAS NOT THE CASE FOR ME. ONI CHECKED MY ACCOUNT WHILE AT VETS APPOINTMENT ON 7/19 AND NOTICED I WAS CHARGED 4 $35 OVERDRAFT FEES WHICH MADE MY ACCOUNT NEGAVITE. I WALKED INTO A BRANCH TO EXPLAIN WHAT HAPPENED AND TELL THEM HOW THIS IS NOT CORRECT AND WAS TOLD I COULD NOT SPEAK TO THE MANAGER AND THAT THEY WILL CALL ME BACK IT IS NOW 7/26 AND HAVE YET TO RECEIVE A CALL. TO MAKE MATTERS WORST ON 7/20 ONE MORE $35 FEE. THIS PUT MY ACCOUNT AT A -$130. IT IS CRAZY TO THINK THAT THE BANK HAD MY CASH IN IT POSESSION BUT WOULD NOT CREDIT ME FOR IT AND NOT JUST THAT PROCEEEDED TO COST ME THE REST OF THE WEEK, I WAS UNABLE TO TAKE MY SICK PET TO THE VET AND I AM NOW HAVING TO CARRY THAT NEGATIVE AMOUNT.
ALSO ON MY SAVING ACCOUNT WHICH IS USED AS AN OVERDRAFT PROTECTION THERE WAS $20 ON 7.18 WHICH I TRANSFERED TO MY CHECKING ACCOUNT BEFORE 10 AND WAS NOT CREDITED TO MY ACCOUNT UNTIL THE 19TH AND NOT JUST THAT BUT THEIR ERRONEOUS SYSTEM DID ANOTHER AUTOMATIC TRANSFER AFTER I HAD ALREADY DONE THE TRANSFER AND THE ACCOUNT WAS AT $0 AND MADE MY ACCOUNT NEGATIVE TO MAKE MATTER WORST THEY CHARGED ME A $21 FEE FOR IT.
THIS ENTIRE ORDEAL IS COSTING ME $196 DOLLARS. THIS IS A TOTAL DISSERVICE TO THEIR CUSTOMERS. THE BANK HAD THE CASH IN THEIR POCESSION SAME DAY AS THE PURCHASES CAME TO THE ACCOUNT. I TOOK A PICTURE OF MY ACCOUNT AFTER I DEPOSITED THE AMOUNT AND MY ACCOUNT WAS AT +34.78 ON 7/18@ 10:32 PMDesired Settlement: THE OUTCOME I WOULD LIKE FROM THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS A REFUND OF ALL THE OVERDRAFT FEES TOTAL OF $196 CHARGED DUE TO THEIR SYSTEM AND NOT CLEAR INFORMATION PROVIDED BY THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE. IF THE CASH IS AVAILABLE TO USE BUT NOT AVALABLE TO COVER THE EXPENSES THEN WHAT IS THE PURPOSE. I AM WILLING TO TAKE THIS AS FAR AS I CAN BECAUSE I BELIEVE PNC IS JUST TAKING ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLE AND NOT VALUING THEIR CUSTOMERS. TIMES ARE HARD AND FOR ANYONE TO HAVE TO GIVE FREE $196 TO A BANK FOR NO REASON IS UNFORTUNATE.

Review: This is a product and sales issue. I was sold a credit card reader machine for my business through PNC Merchant Services. The product never functioned as promised, and I was misled by the sales representatives about the contract.
When I initially signed up for this plan in October 2015, I was told by the bank business sales rep and the merchant services sales rep (Arynn S[redacted] and Hollis H[redacted] respectively) that I was not under a contract because I was purchasing the machine outright. When I spoke with both of them shortly after receiving the credit card reader just a couple of weeks after receiving it and requested to return the item because it was not functioning to my satisfaction, they told me it would be cheaper and easier just to keep it and not use it. However, when I called PNC Merchant Services to follow up, I was told that I had a 3 year contract with required purchases every 90 days, otherwise I would be charged $25 per month for the remaining months of the
contract in one lump charge.
The sales reps told me I could use the machine through wifi, which, despite
multiple phone calls to Merchant Services to get this to work, and a consultation with a computer specialist, has never worked, and I was eventually told that the machine is
incompatible with the type of wifi I have (which is a basic cable internet service which supports all wifi standards of the last 16 years). Thus, my machine must be plugged directly into the modem which in the closet of my patient waiting area. It is quite unprofessional to take a client's credit card into a closet to charge it. The only other option is to use a phone outlet, and I do not use a landline in my office. Thus, I only use it when someone calls me over the phone and gives me a credit card number to charge for an outstanding bill. I then learned, after doing this a few times, that the fees associated with charging a card not present are exorbitant (around 10%). This is far from the 1.7% fee I was initially quoted.
A separate issue is that when I registered for the PNC business credit card, the sales reps told me they did not think any minimum purchase was necessary for the special offer to receive my money back. They did not actually check on this for me, and when I later called PNC to check on this, I learned that there was a minimum purchase in a specific amount of time to receive the offer.
I have spent hours over the phone trying to resolve these various issues with PNC Merchant Services to no avail. I could not be more frustrated and misled with this product and have no intention of using it ever again.
On April 4th, I again reached out to both sales reps and received no response. On April 13th, I reached out to a branch manager who said he would work to resolve this issue, and still have not received a response.Desired Settlement: I am requesting to end the contract with PNC Merchant Services immediately. I am also requesting a refund on the cost of the credit card reader and the unexpected fees I have been charged for the transactions.

Review: On July 29th, I checked my bank account and discovered that someone had withdrawn $500 from my bank account late the previous night. This transaction took place in a state I do not live in, and I still had my debit card in my possession so it was not lost or stolen. I filed a police report and filed a dispute with PNC. I was told I would get a provisional credit 10 business days later. I did not get a refund. I contacted the bank again on 8/15/2016 and was informed that my claim was denied based on video evidence. It sounded to me like they were insinuating that I did it. I was told I could view the video. My local branch manager emailed and requested the video for which the person at PNC fraud has not responded to her emails. My card was cloned by someone, the bank is refusing to refund my money, and I have not seen the video. One thing I know for sure is I am not the person on the video and I don't share an account with anyone. I believe that what PNC is doing is a violation of federal banking laws.Desired Settlement: I want my money returned to my account.

Review: I had an auto loan with PNC. I purchased a new car and paid off the loan I had with PNC. I moved to a new place as of the first of the year. I never changed my address with PNC because I didn't think I was going to buy a new car. I was expecting to keep the car that I've had a few years for a few years more. Also, PNC didn't manage their own auto loan payments and you have to use a third party company to process recurring auto loan payments as an EFT. So, I purchase a new car and the PNC auto loan is paid off. A month after purchasing the new car, an EFT for my PNC auto loan comes out of my account. The third party company is still withdrawing money from my account for the PNC loan. There was no communication between PNC and the third party company about the loan being paid off. I go to a PNC branch in [redacted] GA to discuss what can be done about the issue. The rep says they are aware of the issue and will issue you a check on the ninth of June. He asks for my ID but never confirms my address. I didn't think about changing my address because I wasn't planning on buying a new car. And, it completely slips my mind to ask about it. I completely realize the address change is my fault. But, I submitted a change of address form at the post office and all of the other companies that I deal with, changed my address in their system. I'm not sure why PNC didn't change that information. But, I've received mail from PNC at my new address in the past few months, so I'm not sure. I wait and wait, but I never get a check. I go into the PNC branch on [redacted] Rd. here in Atlanta and the lady says they will contact me within a couple of days and they will help me. She also said that I will have my check in a few days because they will overnight the check to me. She says I should receive it by Saturday at the latest, this was Wednesday. A rep contacted me and tells me that the check was sent to my old address, they will put a stop payment on the check(which will take 7 to 10 business days), and reissue me a check. I was not very pleased with this information. This is completely the opposite of what the rep at [redacted] Rd. said. The rep says I should get my check sometime in the middle of the month. This money isn't PNC's, it's mine. I became furious during the phone call and had to end the call because I'm at work and needed to tend to a client. I called the branch on [redacted] Rd., told them about the situation. They contacted the rep that I spoke with and apparently nothing can be done, according to this customer service rep. I take time out of my schedule today to go to the [redacted] Rd. branch to see if anything can be done. When I get there, the branch manager says she's contacted EVERYONE that she knows to contact and the only thing that can be done is too fax my address change over, wait 7 to 10 business days, and wait for my check in the mail. She says she didn't understand why I couldn't be issued a check at the branch either and apologized immensely because she can't do anything. So, I'm out around $430 until I hopefully get a check in the mail. I don't understand why I can't just go to a branch and get MY money. Even the branch manager is confused as to why I can't get it, also.Desired Settlement: I just want my money, now. I should be able to go into a branch and receive the over payment on the account.

Review: I wrote a check to my landlord in the amount of $1200. I got an email and a voicemail from PNC saying that there was a suspicious activity on my account. Later I check my account and it showed that the check was returned. I logged into my account and sent a secured email that I had in fact written the check and that the check which was for rent should be honored. I received a response that I have to call even though the message was from my account. Because I was working I tried chatting with one of the representatives who further infuriated me by asking me for verification even though I have given him my account number and my full name. He refused to further assist me and I had to leave my work and place a call to their phone number only to be told that they had returned the check and that my landlord can redeposit the check.
When I asked why, I was told that my signature looked suspicious, even though that is the way I have been signing my check.
I want PNC to pay for the return fee for my Landlord and stop the way they treat me anytime that I require money from account to take care of my personal business.Desired Settlement: Stop this impulsive behavior towards me. There is no grounds for the treatment they met out to me.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
PNC will swindle money from you any way that they can. I haven't used my account in over a month solely because they were finding ways to charge me fees (including one of their employees lying to me, then me having to pay a fee for it and being refused a refund). Of course, today, I find out my account is $30 overdrawn. HOW??? I haven't used the damn thing in over a month! As soon as I figure out what's going on with whatever bogus fee they hit me with this time, I'm closing my account. I have been using my new account elsewhere for the past month, and have not had to pay a dime.
Review: Despite not having overdraft protection, in two weeks they allowed transactions to process when there was no money in the bank, or when it had already become negative.Desired Settlement: All OD fees refunded. After which time I will close the account and have no further business dealings with PNC Bank or its affiliates.
