Review: 4 overdraft charges were placed on my account, when my statement clearly shows I was not overdrawn. I have pictures of the account balances daily that prove this. PNC argued that the online balances "aren't correct:" It sounds very "used car salesman-like"Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Refund

All four (4) overdraft charges should be refunded to my account.

Review: When we bought our townhouse in January of 2012, we put less than 20% down and therefore had a PMI (private mortgage insurance). Based on the current market in our neighborhood, we believed that our home had increased in value and so we contacted our bank, PNC Mortgage (subsidiary of PNC bank), to cancel our PMI. They informed us that a property evaluation had to be obtained at our expense in order to process the request, however, they had to choose/ contact the appraiser and manage the payment between us and the appraiser. They subsequently informed us that the cost of the appraisal would be $500.00 and that we needed to send them a check (made out to PNC bank) for said amount in order to move forward. We sent them a check in June (2014) in the amount of $500.00. After the appraisal was complete, [redacted] (the vendor that PNC used) e-mailed us the appraisal form (the value of our home was sufficient to remove the PMI). In the appraisal, it said that the cost of the appraisal was $250.00, however, we sent PNC a check for $500.00 to cover the cost of the appraisal. I contacted PNC to get our $250.00 back and after speaking with multiple people, I was told that I could not speak to anyone in PNCs PMI department and that they would send me a letter explaining the discrepancy in the appraisal amounts. In a letter dated July 22, 2014, PNC Mortgage stated that it used [redacted] as a third party vendor to provide an appraisal; the actual appraisers charge to [redacted] was $250.00 and the other $250.00 was [redacted] cost of doing business. I find this to be absolutely ridiculous. PNC Mortgage uses a vendor that charges its customers DOUBLE of what an actual appraisal costs. Action should be taken against PNC because either they are in collusion with their vendor, [redacted], and/or because they are dumb enough to contract with a vendor that charges double of what an actual appraisal costs. By charging an exorbitant $500.00 for appraisal that might or might not delete their PMI, PNC is potentially dissuading some of its customers from even getting the appraisal; thereby, PNC continues to profit from the PMI of its customers loans. I find PNCs actions to be predatory. In order to remove the PMI from their customers loans, PNC is charging $500.00 for an appraisal that only costs $250.00. To rectify this, I would like PNC to refund me the $250.00 and, in the future, to stop charging its customers double the price of what an actual appraisal costs.Desired Settlement: I would like PNC to refund me the $250.00 and, in the future, to stop charging its customers double the price of what an actual appraisal costs.

Review: GreetingsI opened the PNC Bank - Virtual Wallet Account in the month of Apr`2013 and there was a Promotional Reward of $150 associated with that account. Also $50 was some referrals. After serious follow ups, PNC credited $75 instead of $150 dated 10/08 to my account. I asked for the reason, but no concreate justification given to me till date. PNC representative said that issue was escalated to Customer Escalation Department dated 10/09 and yet now no response/updates from them. Also I have asked for my 2 referrals ($50 each) status. But asusual silence from PNC Bank.It would be great if you check and get my Rewards. Though it is a very small amount ($150 + $50 + $50 = $200), I expect PNC to keep up his promise.Desired Settlement: Check and get my Rewards ($150 + $50 + $50 = $200)

Thank You,

Review: This is the 1st Revdex.com complaint I have made in regards to my issues with PNC, I have previously filed a complaint with the FDIC and the consumer financial protection agency. I had a business account with this bank beginning in 2007, I began having issues with this bank in 2014 when I attempted to change the name on my business account and a separate/new account was opened without my signature or permission. I filed a complaint and subsequently closed both accounts however continued to get statements from the bank indicating that they had not properly closed the accounts and that a 'line of credit' was still open. I again contacted executive client relations to obtain assistance in once again getting the accounts 'closed' and to have this reflected in bank statements. This was achieved in 2014 however several months ago I began receiving statements again for a 'line of credit' which is in my former business, addressed to my maiden name and a previous home address. I originally ignored these statements until they began indicating that I had a $100 'annual fee' due. Over the past 2 months I have received late fee statements and a letter threatening some sort of action being taken due to my 'late payment'. This is bordering on harassment as I was able to successfully (but not without difficulty) get away from this company 2 years ago however they are continuing to solicit and contact me with unwarranted harassment.Desired Settlement: I would like for this company to resolve this issue, specifically close any and all accounts containing any identifying information that they have about me or my company. I want to have absolutely no further contact from the business and I am hopeful that the complaint I have filed with the FDIC is also considered and that perhaps the poor business practices will be examined.

Review: On 18 Sep 15 I provided a copy of my Military Orders ordering me on Active Duty for one year. The PNC representative Jordan who scanned the orders to the department who handles SCRA requests. I was informed that it would take 6 weeks. I sent an e-mail to Jordan and he responded stating he contacted the customer service department and they stated my request is still being reviewed. It has been 8 weeks, and I feel that still being reviewed is unacceptable as the SCRA is cut and dry as to what is required. The Hamilton Road has been very helpful and I was unable to find a concrete address for PNC Bank customer service so I used their contact informationDesired Settlement: I would like my request to be processed IAW SCRA policy and procedures

Review: So[redacted]a hit me with a surprised "Maintenance fee" so I decided after 6 years of service it was time to get a new bank. I went with PNC. I completed the application and was surprised they want a deposit right then and there. I remember when I opened my [redacted] account I had 48 hrs to get to the bank and make the deposit. Anyway, I could not make the deposit at that time. There was no option to save or did it say I would have to make this deposit immediately. I was running late and later returned to it. I spoke to a Rep that said just get back on and complete another one you will be fine. I did this but this time I was denied. I'm assuming it's because I had just applied the day before. I called the customer service but they was no help. I think they were the most incompetent team I've ever seen, nobody knew anything. I need some help.Desired Settlement: I just want to open an account. I need a free checking account. I like how PNC looks.

Review: I investigated after discovering yet again that they had hit me with $144.00 worth of NSF charges on 12/8/14 and found that they were involved in a class action lawsuit involving manipulating debits in 2012. There was a $90 million dollar settlement the victims were awarded. I went through this same thing with [redacted], and out of a similar settlement for $3000.00 in NSF charges over a period of 2 years with them I received a check for $38.00. I reviewed my debits for the past month and this is exactly what they are doing again. For example. I had 2 debits on 12/4/14 at the same store, one for $5.67, and the other around $21.00. The lower purchase went though that day, and the higher one went through on 12/8/14. the morning of 12/8/14 I received my alert of my $14.18 balance. I am sick of my hard earned money being stolen from me due to dirty practices of these big banks, and will be reviewing my account for the last 2 years and contacting my own lawyer and similar PNC customers to start another class action lawsuit. Once again, this $188.00 that they have stole will come out of my account when ky direct deposit for my paycheck goes through 12/14/14 and my daughters Christmas will be $188.00 and what ever other charges are accrued until 12/14/14. Needless to say, as soon as I get this settled I will be also leaving PNC and putting my damn money, under my mattress and paying my bills with cashiers checks.Desired Settlement: Refunds of all NSF charges due to the manipulating of debits.

Review: To make this short, I tried to get a mortgage through PNC. After several months and a million faxes of personal information they told me that everything looked good for the loan and that I need to get an appraisal, so I paid the $505 for the appraisal, then started working on some of the repairs that needed done to the house, all because I was told everything was good. Well after about 2 weeks of working on the house, they decided that they weren't going to approve my loan because I didn't make enough money. This is something that they obviously could have told me months before this but failed to. They had all my financial information a long time before this, and if anybody there could do simple math they should be able to figure that out, instead they waited almost four months until I paid them for an appraisal, and put a little money into the house.Desired Settlement: Even though they wasted a lot of my time and money, I would just simply like my $505 dollars back that I paid them for the appraisal. They told me they couldn't give it back which is a lie because they obviously have $505 at their disposal.

Response:

This letter is in response to your inquiry dated September 28, 2013 sent to the Revdex.com concerning the referenced loan application. Thank you for your patience while we researched your concerns.

In your correspondence, you state that after you were told you would be approved for your loan and were charged for an appraisal, you were declined for the loan due to insufficient income. You request a refund of your appraisal fee as a result of the denial. Upon receipt of your inquiry, your concerns were thoroughly researched, and the following is a summary of our findings:

We reviewed your refund request with the market and regional sales managers, as well as the Director of Processing. Based on their determination, your refund request will not be honored as the appraisal is ordered when the loan application is initiated and is a non-refundable fee. On July 17, 2013, the application was submitted, and on July 19, 2013, the appraisal was ordered. However, the seller did not schedule the appraisal until July 31, 2013.

A final decline decision was not entered until August 12, 2013.

Your loan was initially declined due to an excessive debt-to-income ratio, but you informed your loan officer that you work more hours during the summer as you are a full time student. We attempted to confirm your year-to-date income with your employer on July 29, August 2, and August 6, 2013, but did not receive a response. As a result, the underwriter was not able to confirm an increase in income to qualify you for the loan.

We regret that we were unable to assist you with your purchase loan request and thank you for taking the time to share your concerns. Should you have any further questions or concerns regarding this matter, please contact our Customer Care representatives at ###-###-####.

Review: Back inj August 2014I filed a complaint in regards to over excessive and unexplained overdraft fees. A bank representative contacted me and left a voicemail. I returned the call and she never contacted me back. PNC closed the account as a charge off without every contacting me. I called the representative more than 3 times and she never called me back. Last month, my daughter who also had an account with PNC, informeed me that her pay check was taken out of her account by PNC. I called and spoke to [redacted] in collections who informed me that they were going after me for the charge off and although it is my daughters account, they had the right to take her check. My daughter is 18 and I was only on the account because it was opened as a minor. [redacted] suggested I close the account and let her open one on her own. [redacted] then asked if I would like her to close the account and I said yes. [redacted] provided me with an 800 number to contact set up a payment plan for the charge off. We continued to receive emails with updated account balance and I told my daughter we needed to go to a branch. The branch manager informed us the account was not closed as [redacted] had mentioned. He then went through the process of closing the account and provided us with documentation. We then received letters saying only the two savings accounts were closed and not the checking as [redacted] and the Branch manager had told us. Somehow, my daughter's employer attempted to direct deposit her pay check and did not receive an error saying the account was closed. I called PNC to see if it was rejected and they said they see it pending however, they are not rejecting the deposit because there is a charge off on the account. I informed them that this is her paycheck and has nothing to do with me. This is really poor business practice when my daughter did the due diligence of closing the account to avoid the confusion with my issues with PNC. This is the second leverage on her account in less 30 days.Desired Settlement: I am asking that PNC not punish my daughter who is now a working student. I have dealt with other institutions and know that if it is a joint account, both parties involved need to be made aware of the situation. My daughter's housing deposit for college was reversed by PNC because took money out of her account in regards to a charge off that had nothing to do with her. Her paycheck comes in her name not mine. Total $1196.

Review: During a hiring orientation, a PNC representative stated to me (and everybody else there) that if you signed up for a PNC bank account, you'd get a $100 sign on bonus plus a $50 [redacted] gift card and that there were NO REQUIREMENTS, only that they "asked" that you go online and make one bill payment. After almost two months and no credit to my account, I contacted them to find out what was going on. I was told that I needed over $300 more dollars direct deposited to my account by mid-March to qualify for that "deal"! When I "chatted" with a customer service rep on the website, she told me that they could cancel my account but that they would deduct $20 from my balance since I hadn't had the account opened that long! I told her flat out that no, they would NOT be taking any of MY money as I feel like I was the target of a fraud just to get me to open an account with them!Desired Settlement: I want my account closed and a check for the FULL AMOUNT of money that I have had put in that account sent to me.

Review: I would like to lodge a complaint against the Assistant Manager [redacted] of PNC Bank. I have been with Dollar Bank which became National City bank which became PNC bank for 25 plus years. For the last couple of years PNC has been trying to get me to sign up for online banking which I had refused. Ms. [redacted] asked me & I figured I would give it a try so she proceeded to sign me up. Ms. [redacted] did not know what she was doing, now not only am I not able to get online & do my banking, it has messed up my telephone banking so I can not call in & check my accounts nor transfer funds from one account to another which causes me to incur overdraft fees. I am a very busy business owner & need my banking to be simple & fast.I have stopped in multiple times to rectify this only to find out [redacted] the business manager had to rectify this only to make appointments with [redacted] & her not keep them. I even went as far as to inform them to just put my accounts back to the way they were before the online banking which still has not happened. This has been going on for a year now.Desired Settlement: I would like all my bank & overdraft fees refunded for the last year because the money was always there just in a different account but do to this I could not just call & transfer funds as I once could.

Review: I went to this branch in August 25th 2014 to close my account and they fail to closed the account. The bank teller that "so call closed my account" left it open. The women took my debit card and wrote on my receipt that the account was "CLOSED". I have a gym membership that I pay every month on the 25th of the month. Therefore, PNC didn't close my account they paid the gym in August 25th for $131.75 which made my account turn negative balance. They put a $30.00 over draft fee to my account, but still fail to closed my account. Another gym membership fee came into my account in September 25th and they paid it AGAIN! And left the account "OPEN" without my permission. Therefore, my account was overdraft $293.00. I went into the branch and paid the outstanding balance. I spoke with [redacted] the branch manager and I requested to at least waive the $30 dollars, because it was the bank error. He stated that the account was closed and he couldn't do anything for me. Now, 1) the bank teller fail to closed my account 2) they kept my account open without my permission. What I don't understand that [redacted] the branch manager told me "They couldn't close the account because a transaction came in, but leaving my account open for another charge post without me knowing was WRONG. The teller should be re-train and not give a customer the wrong information. I refuse to do any type of business with this bank. Their employees are not trained correctly and no type of customer service friendly.Desired Settlement: I'm requesting a full explantation for my account in "DETAIL". 2) the teller should be written up for false information given to me. 3) I want my 30.00 dollars back!

Review: I was the victim of identity theft after a fellow veteran stole my PNC check card, car and drivers license while I slept. He proceeded to use my card in Ohio, and cost me several thousands of dollars in fees and stolen funds.I immediately went to the [redacted] branch of PNC. The ** State Police went to PNC and confirmed the report. I also had documentation that I was in the [redacted] Hospital receiving treatment for wounds suffered in Iraq.Despite all this information, PNC refunded only a portion of the funds, and allowed me to "Opt In" and overdraft my account in order to pay for rent, food, insurance, etc. However, after the assistant branch manager told me on two occasions that the investigation was on-going, and I should receive approximately $1000, which she said she would expedite. Furthermore, she said that the approximately $380 in overdraft fees should be reimbursed.Initially, the manager was helpful, but seemed disconnected from "back office" processes. For almost two months, I was repeatedly told that the investigation was ongoing. Before this incident, I had an average balance of ~$4000. Afterwards, I was consistently in the negative awaiting an outcome. In late July, after an immense amount of frustration, I was told I was already given the provisional credit, and that "keeping track of my account information is my responsibility." First, I cannot access the level of detail on PNC Online that the branch can see, and therefore, I could not come to the same total of fraudulent charges. Secondly, they locked and closed my account without warning, so my disability payments are still in limbo and I am currently in the [redacted] Hospital unable to go to a branch in person...therefore I am broke. Thirdly, I worked for [redacted] for two yearswhile in college, and I know how and do balance my check book. I also know that [redacted] would have refunded my money much faster and provided me outstanding customer service along the way.Desired Settlement: I request that PNC Bank contact [redacted] to inform them that I did not "abuse" my account and that they allowed me to overdraft my account during the investigation. I do not want an account with PNC, however I am flagged with all branches for account abuse that was not my fault.Frankly, as a veterans advocate with far reaching connections (e.g., [redacted]), I will tell other veterans to avoid, at all costs, any business with PNC Bank.

Review: Pnc bank rearranges debits so that they can over draw your account as many times as they can. They rip you off and then when you bring it to their attention they give you a story as to why you over drafted that is not fact. There is no way to keep track of the way you debit your account during the day because in the end they decide on what order it should be debited. Let's say if you have $100 in your account and during the day you spend $98 leaving $2 then realize omg I have no gas in the car so you grudgingly overdraft for $40 and expect the normal fee of $36. Well that's not how they see it. They take the largest debit and clear it first. So from $100 I have now $60. Then they will take out every other debit in a way that will make more than one overdraft. So my innocent need for gas that should leave me only $76 negative will now leave me if my debits according to them happened like this Balance. Debit. Forward $100. $40. $60$60. $25. $35$35. $30. $5$5. $20. -$15-$15. $23. -$37Then they would access two over drafts instead of one. I am constantly getting charged $36 for a $4 happy meal because of the way they rearrange your debits and deposits. I am fed up with them stealing money from me.Desired Settlement: All my over draft charges for the past months reversed. I've had the acct for years and this be some new practice they've adopted because up until a few months ago I never had an overdraft.

Review: I have a checking account with PNC. I get paid through direct deposit. Since I am a teacher, I do not get paid in the summer, and therefore, do not have any direct deposits in July and August. PNC charged my account a fee because there was no direct deposits during those months. I spoke with a representative last year who refunded the $15 dollar fee. When I noticed the fee this year (September 2015), I called PNC and was told they would not refund the fee and that I should have switched to a different type of account to avoid the fee in the future. If this was going to be how they manage this situation, they should have informed me last year and assisted me in switching my account to a different type. Instead, they purposely manipulated me as a customer to collect additional fees in the future.Desired Settlement: I would like $15.00 credited to my account and the opportunity to work with a PNC representative to update my account.

Review: We applied and were approved for a "Parent Plus" student loan on 09.25.2013. The funds for each semester were to be dispersed by the company at the beginning of the semester (mid January) for the current semester. We have called the bank several times in the last month and a half as funds have not yet been dispersed. We had previously signed up for direct deposit of the funds yet a check was issued on 02.07.2014 for this semester's amount. We never received a check. Upon calling the company on 02.25.2014, the bank placed a stop payment on the check that had been issued but was still unable to issue the funds as they had no record of the account being registered for direct deposit. We spoke with a "manager", [redacted], who told us that he would "escalate" the issue but we would not hear from the company for 2-3 business days. That is not acceptable when the funds were to have been dispersed over a month and a half ago. Mr. [redacted] also informed us that the bank would not refund any late or overdraft fees despite that fact that we did everything that we were required to do.Desired Settlement: I would like the funds dispersed today and any late or overdraft fees incurred as a result of the gross negligence of the bank to do their job reimbursed.

Review: Due to a misunderstanding during a refinance request, PNC Mortgage Company assessed late charges and reported missed payments on my credit report resulting in over a 100 point drop in my credit score. I misunderstood the need to continue to pay my current mortgage during the refinance process. As a result I missed two payments to my current mortgage company. When the late notice was received I immediately started inquiry into the problem and in my haste to rectify my error, I mistakenly issued checks for late mortgage payments on an old account. This further delayed the receipt of paying my late mortgage. As a result PNC took the action noted at the beginning of my complaint. It is my opinion that the action taken by PNC was extreme, unfair and gave no consideration to my prior payment history during the life of my loan. A review of my credit history shows no record of late or slow pay. I have paid all late payments and my mortgage account is now current. However, I have requested waiver of all late fees and removal of late pays entered on my credit report. Thanks for your assistance. [redacted]Desired Settlement: clear me of all late charges and restore my credit back to 812 and refi my home like I begin

Review: on 12/29/15, PNC Bank stole $108 from my account and stated it was for overdraft fees, regardless of the fact that I had six figures in my account -- which was clearly more than enough money to pay for any check that I had written or any electronic payment that I had initiated.Desired Settlement: Refund my $108, plus interest.
