I signed up for a promotional home cleaning with this website because of their ad on the [redacted] subway. The first cleaner left after a half hour without doing any work. I called Handy to report this, and they scheduled a replacement for the next day who never showed up. A third cleaner did show up two days later but they did not do a good enough job that I would ever want to use this service again. Handy agreed to credit me for the bad bookings, and I requested by email- sent directly to one of their customer service reps- that they cancel any future bookings because I did not intend to use them again. After about a month they began billing my credit card for cleaning bookings that I did not request and that never occurred. In all my credit card was charged over $500. I called a customer service rep and requested that Handy reimburse me, but they told me that because I had never cancelled the recurring appointments they could not help me. After explaining multiple times that I had in fact cancelled the appointments, I insisted on speaking to the supervisor, who told me the same thing, that they would not grant me a refund. It was not until I directed her to the actual email I sent that the supervisor finally conceded that my request to cancel was in their system and that they would provide a refund. I have yet to see these fraudulent charges refunded to my credit card, and I feel victimized by their bad business practices multiple times over. The Revdex.com should look into this company to see if there is a pattern of fraudulent activity like this with other customers. I would strongly advise that people steer clear of this company, beware of online subscription services, and especially beware of any promotional offers from Handy.com.

There was no week prior email nor 24 hour reminder. Can Handy prove that these notifications were sent? Doubt it. I just scoured my email and there is no correspondence from Handy regarding a week or 24 hour notification. The reason for the late cancellation was due to the fact that I received a text message an hour and a half before a scheduled booking I had no idea I had scheduled. Funny thing is Handy advertises a "100% money back guarantee." See attached picture. I guess what I should have done is completed the cleaning, called them back right after their cleaner left and told them I was dissatisfied with the job. That seems ethical and fair. For more disgruntled clients comments referencing their terrible customer service, lies and deceit, check out the companies [redacted] page [redacted] There is a comment that they owe someone money from July. In my case NO SERVICES WERE RENDERED so how can they justify keeping my money? We need to do something to shut this company down!

Revdex.com:IMPT! When I cancelled my Handy account the site would not allow me delete my credit card information. Please have Handy remove all my credit card and personal information from any and ALL records. I have zero trust in this company and request everything related to my profile be deleted. We understand that there was some confusion here on how to cancel recurring bookings and we would be more than happy to refund that $25 charge. The charge will appear on [redacted]'s statement in 2-3 business days.

 H Dinnis,Thank you for your response.  As I mentioned, my bank has NO RECORD of the second transaction.  You need to provide a bank transaction # for the second transaction because as of today it did not go through to my bank.And it has been more than 120 days since May **.  As a result, please explain your time reference in your email.  Once again, please review my request as well as ALL of the email exchanges under the reference id provided in the original complaint.  I am a fan of Handy but this is not only a disappointing use of my time, but your response shows a lack of research and ultimately is an inefficient use of your time as well.  Please reference attachment of Handy customer service reply on June **, 2015.  Did you just cut and paste? [redacted]

 While the cleaning services were rendered, I was overcharged.  The professional finished very quickly and admitted to just staying there waiting for the linens to arrive.  I finally had to assertively dismiss her as I know the final cleaning rate is determined by time spent cleaning.Given the extra time the cleaning professional spent waiting around for the linen delivery and the fact that I am forced to purchase a cleaning when all I'd like are linens, I am requesting an additional credit for the cleaning.  Again, I had to also purchase new linens because did not have what I needed for the guests, and I'm not asking for compensation for those, merely the unnecessary and overcharged cleaning.

I have still not received a response from their payment department as to how to make a payment that does not entail leaving my credit card information on their website. I have no reason to believe they have cancelled my account since I still get daily emails that suggest I am still in their database as an active customer. Please see the screen shots I have attached. I have offered to leave my credit card information on the phone and have also offered to send a check which in both cases I was told that there were no capabilities for these types of payment methods. This shouldn't be complicated. I owe $57 for a cleaning service that I will happily pay them for. I am just not updating any account information on their website as I believe it is not secure, and that they do not have the proper staffing to manage these accounts.I've attached screen shots of my daily emails, and have also attached documentation of all of my communications with different staff members.

As independent service providers, Handy professionals can add or remove jobs at any time since they manage their own schedule.  The professional on the booking is updated in real time in our app. This user has had their plan cancelled without a fee and all charges have been refunded.

The recurring set up was first placed on [redacted] account on January * when she scheduled her January * booking using the Living Social voucher, [redacted] which was redeemable only for recurring services, and included in the terms and conditions of the voucher.  When scheduling this...

cleaning, [redacted] selected a monthly cleaning plan to enroll into.  The booking generated for February * was the second booking int he series.  I've refunded the $57 charge back to the card on file, the refund will post back in [redacted] account in 3-5 business days.  [redacted] cleaning plan was successfully cancelled earlier this morning by another agent who received her email.  There are no bookings confirmed for future dates, nor will any be generated automatically. I've also had your credit card information removed from our third party, secure, payments processor.  Please advise that the last four digits of your card will remain on file for proof of previous purchases. 
As a growing web based company, we have transitioned to an online help modal via our Help Center, [redacted], as we feel it helps us serve the most customers, most efficiently, and apologize if [redacted] did not have that experience.
