"managed funds are anything but", failed to send 1099-R and now I'm in trouble with IRS
Their managed funds are a joke, underperforming almost everything else, and perform about as well as throwing cash into my recycle bin. I made an early withdrawal sometime ago. Fidelity failed to send me a 1099-R, of course they didn't forget to send it to the IRS. It wasn't even available on my fidelity.com; I had to go to a different website using a different login and search for it.

This is a question. Did Fidelity intervene for you with the IRS, for example let the IRS know Fidelity was responsible for the error, not you the client?

Worst company's service ever...
Fidelity is too big and their service is too bad. Zero Star

I called 10 times to roll over my 401k and my ex husband Retirement Sharing

The first, the rep hung up on me.

The second and third I being on hold for 20 minutes.

I wonder why Fidelity don't have emails or Hot line

The company's service is getting worst and worst...

I can't wait my 59 and two months and take my money and Fidelity never ever again...

No Stars. Unbelievable incompetence. NO STARS UNBELIEVABLY INCOMPETENT!
Trying to withdraw for a purchase of a principal residence. It is for a cash withdrawal. Paying cash for the home. Told twice no problem. Started the ball rolling. after a few days of not hearing we called. Oh, you can't do that. Only for the downpayment. Informed them of the previous calls. The kid (literally) wouldn't budge. Asked to speak with his team lead or supervisor or whatever they had. Stock answer received "They will tell you the same thing. Wife is apoplectic! (These are hour-long calls) Called back again spoke with a woman who looked at everything and said will check with processors. She called back after an hour or so (almost 6pm bless her) They said the kid was wrong. No problems but processors said just need to make it very plain in the purchase agreement it was for a cash purchase. It was already in the purchase agreement very plainly, but went back to the seller and asked for a purchase agreement to include MORE about it being a cash purchase Then resubmit with the case number on it which we have been doing anyway each time. This time when we didn't hear back we called them. Was told again, you can't do that. So pissed! They were told READ YOUR NOTES ABOUT THIS CASE! The person said, oh. Then said you need to put the paperwork on a black background to take the pic to send of the paperwork. WTF!?! The background doesn't show in the picture. It's a very clear picture. There is nothing illegible about it. Now we have resent the paperwork AGAIN! They won't let you speak with anyone else. The one person we got that straightened out the mess was wonderful. But at this point Moving from Vermont to Montana has all been put on hold. The closing is supposed to be in less than 30 days as per agreement, we have 1000.00 Ernest money and another 800.00 in other costs that will be lost if this doesn't happen. All of this was initiated because Fidelity said everything was fine (the first tiime contacted) Re-verified with another phone call the next day. We were told if you get that paperwork in today, it'll probably be approved tomorrow latest. That was a week ago. Still no Joy, still fighting with them. We were fools to take them at their word. (NEVER EVER AGAIN) No recourse for the customer. Contacting HR, but not sure we'll get any help there either.

Service is horrible
Fidelity is too big and their service is bad.

I called 3 times to roll over my 401k.

The first, the rep sounded he was asleep and he hung up on me.

The second and third time, Fido automated call dropped after being on hold for 20 minutes.

I wonder how much Fidelity pays for JD Power award.

The company's service is getting worst.

SEC needs to get involved as well because not everyone is able to go online for trades among other things.

Worst!
I have had the worst experience in my life dealing with this company! I tried for 9 months to get my stock transferred over from my transfer agent. the last conversation I had was 4 months ago and they assured me it would be taken care of. I was pissed it was not done because someone I know had done is 3 months prior. Here it is 4 months later and I found out it still was not done. WTF! Now my stock has fallen 80% from when my friend sold his.

Bailey A Employee Dallas Office ext. 20626
Baily was outstanding. She solved a login issue on my 401k net benefits, when few others before her couldn't crack it.
This was on Aug.27.2021 between 720 and 740pm.

Baily a job well done. Fidelity must be proud to have an outstanding employee like you.

Total lack of empathy and service
I have been waiting on a partial distribution and pension for almost three months. Multiple calls have been made without avail. Consequently, this has affected my credibility and credit rating. Call backs by management have not been received and a total lack of empathy from the representative have not helped to expedite the issue. I had planned on using them for wealth management, but will be pulling all funds from them due to their ambivalence towards me as a corporate client and personal client. There is a point when a company becomes too bureaucratic and large. This is a perfect example.

Fidelity means Truthfully on hold forever
Many companies don't manage customer service very well, so it's jarring for a financial services firm such as Fidelity to sink this low, even in comparison to the rest. First of all, they tell everyone as they put them on hold that it will only be brief. They do not offer the opportunity to receive a callback when an operator is available. They do not give an estimated hold time. They just keep repeating how "very" important your call is to them and that they will be with you "as soon as they can." As I am writing this, my hold time is 1:56 and counting...I was stuck with Fidelity because my employer chose them. I will be moving everything out as "soon" as they answer the phone.

A Nightmare from which there is no awakening
That is how I'd describe having a Fidelity Account. Does anyone actually work there? I tried for days to speak to a human being to find out how to transfer assets INTO my Fidelity account, to no avail. So I pulled my money out and transferred it to another broker. But Fidelity keeps flooding me with Alerts anyway. I have tried every way I can think of to stop these alerts but filling out the appropriate instructions and emailing my "advisor" haven't done a thing. It's sheer harassment making me rue the day I ever opened an account with them.

Worst customer service
My wife and I had asked a Fidelity representative to transfer our joint account assets to our individual trusts in early Dec. 2020. He did not how to do it and he had to call someone to do it for him. Although we had mentioned a 50% split in the shares, which in my opinion is simple arithmetic, she was angry that we did not have the actual numbers ready for her to transfer. After the transfer, we requested the representatives to ensure that the dividends and capital gains are reinvested. We were assured that it was done. Yet, our Dec. statement showed that the dividends paid for a couple of stocks after the transfer date had not been reinvested. When I sent a secure message to the representative, he washed his hands off and asked me to call their 800 number. I found out that calling this number was a disaster. After several attempts and waiting for over an hour, I finally managed to get hold of a customer service representative. He said our trust accounts had not been set-up for reinvesting the dividends and capital gains. So, he set up the accounts - or, so I thought until I received the January statement and noticed that the dividends for another stock had not been reinvested. I also learnt that sending a message to their customer service asking them to rectify the issue was a waste of time. So, I have tried to fix the problem myself and I hope it works. Other mutual fund companies have much better customer service and put their customers before their commissions. Fidelity used to have good customer service but their service is at the bottom of the list.

The worst phone service ever
The worst phone service ever, it was never like this, gave up on trying to get thru, 0 stars if I could. At least tell people how long of a wait it will be, or be able to leave your number for a callback. Not the Fidelity I was used to !

Totally agree!

No Way To Upload Paper Check On PC
I use my PC to make trades and pay bills at Fidelity Investments. Why then is there no way to upload a paper check? After taking photos with my digital camera, I have to take the long route and send the images to Ally Bank and later do an ACH transfer of the funds to Fidelity. This is totally unacceptable and defeats the purpose of having web access.

Too many scammers
How is this such a popular website and no one has reported what they're really doing? scamming the world and making victims. I found out the jig only after losing 100.000€ trying to buy bitcoins on their platform... I made payment and they claimed to not have received it, however my bank confirmed that the transaction was completed! This is not good at all and we need to get justice! I made reports to all the agencies, authorities and regulators I could think of I got the same response from all of them, "We will take your report into consideration, when we get more information, we will be able to investigate" What happened to investigating out right... I was not having it and I needed to get my money back so I went looking for private firms and found (fighting scams at aol dot com )this was the only company that was able to help me out and successfully get my money back... Please if you have been scammed by Fidelity Investment , complain to fightingscams at aol dot com

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # [redacted] Please add your rejection comments below In August I called Fidelity and requested that my $24,pension with my prior employer be distributed as $20,into an IRA and $direct deposited to meThe customer care rep did the exact opposite and requested $20,be sent to my bank account and $into an IRAAfter several weeks of back and forth asking that the error be fixed, I filed a Revdex.com compliant for resolutionA Fidelity employee named [redacted] contacted me ensuring me he would get the problem fixed by having the $20,drafted back out of my account and placed into an IRA and the $direct depositedUnfortunately Fidelity made another error and instead of trying to take out the $20,they deposited - they tried to take out $24,which they had never deposited [redacted] apologized and stated someone put the request in wrong for $24,and assured me he had corrected to have the proper amount that they had deposited of $20,removedA couple of weeks later they finally drafted out the $20,and placed the proper amount of $into my account resolving the issue almost days laterFast forward to 05/10/I receive a letter from a collection agency named Lyon Collections in Nevada stating that I owed Fidelity $because they never were able to draft this amount from my account in September 2015! I immediately called Fidelity and the care rep told me that was wrong, she saw where they drafted the $20,and direct deposited the $to me (minus taxes)She stated that she would have the rep who worked on this before, [redacted] call meI waited days and after no call, I contacted Fidelity again to only be told [redacted] would not be calling me because he stated my issue was resolved back in SeptI'm blown away on how a company can operate like this and continue to make errors and there is no accountabilityNow they have sent to collections for their own error Fidelity must contact [redacted] and have this error removed immediately with no impact to my credit score or reportI also want a written letter ensuring me that this issue has been finally resolved with no debt owed as the $20,was properly removed from my account back in SeptThey never deposited $to my bank account! I also want to make sure that this compliant is also forwarded to ***'s manager so they can see how he failed to take ownership of a problem that was not properly resolved in SeptI have contacted Fidelity about this error THEY made over times in the course of months Regards, [redacted] ***
