Jennyly "She was very professional and timely in resolving my issue it felt as if she treated it as if it were her own situation and that in customer service is very hard to find"

Earnin Response • Sep 23, 2019

Thank you so much for the positive review! We truly appreciate you being part of our community and taking the time to leave us a kind comment. We are glad you had such a positive experience with our community advocate!

Billing and collections concerning with the earnin app
I've been using the app for several months now & every payday they get their money back but when it comes time for me to borrow money my bank account information never updates and when I contact them they tell me It's nothing they can do only contact my bank or update my information through settings on the app. When I contact my bank it's nun I can do because it's a third party app. This is very frustrating and I know this is some that have to do with their system, before payday my information updates on time without a problem

Desired Outcome

I just want my bank information to update as it should

Earnin Response • Oct 09, 2019

We apologize that you are experiencing bank connection issues with the app. One of our community advocates has attempted to troubleshoot the problem and one of our specialists has reached out to provide a resolution so this issue does not continue. When you are able to provide us with the results of this troubleshoot, we will be able to look into the issue further and make it right on our end. Thank you!

Evelyn was very accommodating and patient with me as we tried to resolve my connection issues. She did not give up, even when I was ready to and made sure that I had a positive experience under some frustrating circumstances. I have said it before and will continue to say it... Earnin has some of the best Customer Service Agents I have ever had the pleasure of talking to. Thanks so much for all of the help!

Earnin Response • Sep 19, 2019

Thank you so much for the great feedback. We are so glad that we were able to help you out and ease your mind! You are truly appreciated!

Wilma was REMARKABLE she took time to explain why I was unable to cash out. Not only that she took her time to not only walk me through the location instructions but EMAILED them to me. BEST customer service. You ROCK Wilma!

Earnin Response • Sep 18, 2019

We're happy to hear that you had a great experience working with Wilma!

Alvin without any hesitation or excuses was able to immediately fix my issue and was just the best ending to my otherwise crappy day. I am a construction worker and have been unable to use this app because my job sites are different than my employer address but I was able to give Alvin the address of the job site and he approved it immediately! I have missed this app so much it has really helped get me through some rough times.

Earnin Response • Sep 19, 2019

We're glad to hear that Alvin was able to help get your issue resolved quickly!

They claim to reduce overdraft fees but are the sole creators of said overdraft fees
I suspect I am not alone. They abuse their consumers financially. They amp up the amount you can without and then on the next payday they reduce it greatly greatly. I have been credited with 175 and on my next payday will be reduced reduced to 100. They also withdrew funds when I advised them I was in a negative balance. They advised they won't be able to assist me and will still be taking their debit further leading me down to a more debt. I will not only be debited 175 but an additional 35. They go against their own business model of reducing overdraft fees. I have also reported to the Consumer financial Protection. They issue a service that hurts a consumer more than would have helped. The end result is more debt than would have been had I not taking out the payday loan. They do not provide any type of written notices which goes against*** act. Their sole communication is through chat.

Desired Outcome

I seek my overdraft charge that has resulted

Earnin Response • Nov 24, 2019

We see that on 9/18/19 the debit totaling $175 was returned and remains unrecovered by Earnin. We also see that the community member has ceased use of the app and has deleted their banking information.

I submitted an email on 9/16/19 stating that I revoke permission to Earnin to debit my account on 9/19/19.
The terms and conditions that I agreed to with Earnin stated that you have to submit a request to revoke permission to do an ACH 3 business days in advance. I sent a request on Monday 9/16/19. I followed up on 9/17/19 to ask if they had received my email and they confirmed that they received it and that I would be contacted by an account specialist. I heard nothing from Earnin. I contacted on 9/18/19 asking what the status of my request was and they said that there was nothing they could do to help me because they have already sent the debit to my bank two days prior to the debit scheduled date of 9/19/19. I told Earnin that you had the request in time and that wasn't my issue it was theirs. They ended the chat because it times out. I went back into the app and talked to another representative and explained my situation. I told them I was at my lawyer's office which I had stopped to talk to her about it on my lunch break. I was told that we could reschedule the repayment but when I suggested a date they said that unfortunately they can't reschedule a payment until my bank rejects their debit. That isn't what was said to me on the chat at first. He said we could reschedule and put a stipulation on how it had to happen. I said that this wasn't going to work for me. He then said that he was going to send my request to a specialist (Heard that promise before) and they would respond to me as soon as I ended my chat with him. I asked if he promised that I would be contacted and he said yes. I then get back to my office and have an email that they need my log in information to my bank account again and won't let me do anything in the application until I resolve the log-in information for my bank. Well I am not going to give them that information again. I changed my password and I am not providing any of that again. I need this issue resolved. I am not trying to not pay my debt. I have had 3 overdrafts in the last 3 weeks because of this app screwing up my bank balances. I am not going to continue to use an app like this if this is the kind of customer service that I can expect.

Desired Outcome

I want Earnin to not debit my account any further. I want to pay the money that I owe on a reasonable schedule.

Earnin Response • Oct 03, 2019

After reviewing previous correspondence between this community member and our advocates, we can confirm that this issue has been resolved. *** has been issued a credit and account has been closed. No further restores will be debited from their account.

Earnin said they would be able to correct the issue of adding my earning to my account so that I could avoid overdraft fee.
I spoke with *** a customer service rep about their system not updating my earnings for 2-3 day periods. I told her that I added my time card via screen shot and the earnings did not load. Since the earning did not load I faced with a bill due the same day and an overdraft fee. She kept saying they my account shows a negative number and I told her I added my time card from the previous two days and nothing changed. She transferred me to *** a specialist and he said that he said that their system had shown to not register my earning and he would fix the issue which would allow me to take my earning to avoid an overdraft fee. After allowing the app to refresh the earnings were not entered and I have been contacting customer service for two days as they said the same thing " your balance is negative" *** left in the middle of the chat and earnings have blocked me from starting chats. I showed the last customer rep the screen shot of the saved chat from *** and he said said it was solved yesterday but it was not he then kept saying " but your balance shows negative" and refused to transfer me to a supervisor.

Desired Outcome

135 to cover the overdraft fee that was incurred and my earnings and not have the amount paid back next pay period for the poor customer service.

Earnin Response • Oct 03, 2019

After looking through your chats, I see that your earnings were not calculating, and you chatted in with Earnin to fix this so you could cash out and avoid overdrawing your account. However, by the time our agents were able to look at your Earnin account, your bank account was already overdrawn. The first agent you spoke to mentioned that the earnings you acquired were less than the bank balance you had, and with the time to process the manual input of your earnings, we saw the earnings as less than your bank balance at the time. We apologize for the confusion in this matter, and while this is correct, we should have also advised you that once the earnings processed, if your bank balance was no more than -100 and you were able to Cash Out such amount, you would have been able to do so. But again, it was the manual earnings process that disrupted this.

As for why your earnings were not collecting, your work location being so close to your home was a significant factor. I see our community advocate was able to adjust the location on your account. Shortly after, we did discover a slight glitch in the GPS function for some Android devices, and I suspect yours is one of the devices affected. We always want to make sure our community members understand that locations services for the app should be set to always on and your phone should not be on battery saver mode, so I ask that you be mindful of this whenever possible, but the glitch in the Android system could have easily been another significant factor. For this error, we advise you contact support with a screenshot of your timesheet 24 hours before your needed Cash Out so we have ample time to process your earnings.

In terms of being blocked from chats, I apologize for the misunderstanding here as well. As far as our end shows, you have not been sent through the process to be blocked. You should still be able to reach out to support via chat if you need help. Based on the chats I see, part of the confusion came from the chats ending due to inactivity. If you want to contact us while you are at work, I would suggest an email instead. It's still through the app, but the ticket is through email rather than chat. That way you are working with the same agent through the process, and you can respond during your free time so you aren't fully disconnected.

I understand you would like to be compensated for the overdraft fees to your account, but unfortunately, Earnin cannot provide that compensation because the overdraft fees were not accrued due to restores being debited early.

If you would still like to add earnings to your account, we can do so manually and will provide an Android update as soon as the situation is fixed. Please message us with screenshots of your timesheets and allow for 24 business hours for processing. Please do let us know if we can help you any further.

Customer Response • Oct 10, 2019

Hello

Thank you for the assistance. I was able to resolve the matter as they do not believe that they are in the wrong. I am getting no where with this company and their dishonesty.

This company has it set up where you have to have your phone track your location through it's app to ensure you go to your workplace.
If you don't take your phone to work you are out of luck! Tried three times to work through bugs and failed! Wasted a lot of time with no benefit!

Earnin Response • Sep 19, 2019

Thank you for reaching out to Earnin support regarding this matter. Unfortunately, we were unable to come to a resolution as you do need either an electronic timesheet or our Automagic Earnings feature in order for us to track your hours successfully. We sincerely apologize that your experience with the app was not as you anticipated.

Sergel, helped me resolve my issue quickly and he was very polite and professional. Thank you, Sergel!
Every time I've needed help with an issue they've resolved it. Really great customer service.

Earnin Response • Sep 18, 2019

We're glad to hear that Sergel provided 5-star customer service!

I would give it zero but it won't let me. All of the sudden it stopped working saying that me earnings weren't being calculated. They said it was my phone so I got a new one. This app sucks n it screwed me out of$.

Earnin Response • Sep 24, 2019

Hi Carrie,
We sent you an email letting you know that our engineers were investigating the issue. The issue has been resolved and we see that your earnings are being calculated again. We appreciate your patience and value you being apart of the Earnin Community!

I deleted the Earnin app two weeks ago and all of a sudden, I get an email saying thank you for cashing out. I did not authorize $100 to be check.
I deleted the Earnin app two weeks ago and all of a sudden, I get an email saying thank you for cashing out. I did not authorize $100 to be check. I received the email on Friday, September 13, 2019. On top of that the app is not allowing me to login when I know for a fact that I'm using the correct login information.

Desired Outcome

I need the money to be added back to my check

Earnin Response • Oct 01, 2019

After a thorough investigation of your account, we see that your app is still active on our end. Aside from deleting the app, make sure that you follow the instructions below:

1. Go to "Settings" in the app

2. Click on "Profile"

3. Click "Close my account" and follow the prompts.

If you run into any issues, let me know and I'll be happy to assist you further.

Please be informed that once we close your Earnin account, we can no longer reopen or re-activate it. You will have to create a new Earnin account if you would like to use the Earnin app again.

As for the cash out, we do see it on our end, and it was activated by the Balance Shield function that helps you keep your bank account from overdrafting. These transactions are automatic when your account drops to an amount of your choosing after you sign up for the feature. While we are unable to refund the cash out from this feature, we can disable it for you until you are able to close your account. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

In terms of your login information, please reach out to one of our support channels so we can get this worked out. We will be able to help you reset your password so it is easier for you to log in.

Earnin app is not updating my bank info correctly due to an error on their end and they have refused to help and keep telling me it is not their issue
every other friday my paycheck hits my account and the app reflects the paycheck has hit via direct deposit( even if it is pending) Is has been this way for months today I check the app to verify they received my payments and to make a small withdrawal. They took my payments but they keep telling me my bank account has a negative balance. I verified with the bank and my account is not negative. I have spent over 5 hours with their supervisors, calling my bank, setting my bank account back in the app(numerous times) I was even told by a supervisor that there is an issue on their end that is causing issues for multiple people. I checked back hours later and it is still not fixed. when I reached back into the chat they told me it was my bank's issue not theirs( again back to square one) I was even promised a credit withdrawal till this was resolved but it looks like that isn't happening either. I have transcripts between me and the supervisor.

Desired Outcome

I would like the credit they promised(Now without having to pay it back for wasting most of my day) and my issue resolved.

Customer Response • Sep 17, 2019

You can close this. We have reached an agreement.

3 over draft fees from the ear in app
I was able to add hours so that I could cash out on 9/13/20. I was able to cash out $100. When I woke up the next day I had 3 overdraft fees. This shouldn't have been allowed to happen. See usually if you max out then add hours for next time, they will not make that cash available to you until your bank devits them back. Once that is done then you can cash out. The rep that entered my hours made the cash available before what was owed was taken out of account so I assumed that took it out last week. Then the rep says as long as your account is above $100 we can cash you out even if you owe money. Not true at all. There has been times I had more than $100 in my account and could not cash out until my bank paid out money from the previous week and then I was able to cash out. That was good because it prevented overdraft fees. They didntdi that this time and because if that I got 3 overdraft fees. The chat was useless and the rep kept saying We can't cash out at this time, when I wasn't trying to cash out. Was so frustrating because that person was not understanding and ended the chat before I was done. Horrible business! Now I have no food or gas.

Desired Outcome

I want you to pay the overdraft fees. Y'all are supposed to be set up to prevent this!

Earnin Response • Oct 02, 2019

After reviewing your account and past communications with our support team, we see that this issue has been resolved. Our advocate was able to issue a credit for the overdraft fee and you've successfully been able to cashout since. We do apologize for the inconvenience. Please reach out if you require any further assistance or information. Thank you for your support and have a great week!

Patient, friendly, and extremely helpful. Best experience I could have had. Thank you, Rogene.

Earnin Response • Sep 16, 2019

Thank you for the positive feedback! We are always here to help!

Earnin took money from old checking account after I changed and gave them new checking acct info. Caused old account to go -$332 negative.
I had $332 coming due from Earnin today, 9/11/19. I got a new checking account on 9/6 and the very same day I contacted them via chat to get help updating the bank account and I was told this was successful. BUT - when 9/11 comes around they take the $332 that was due from my OLD account anyway! Caused it to go negative by $332. (There was $0 in that account because I am in the process of closing it.) I have disputed the charges with my bank as I have a copy of the chat showing that I did indeed change my bank with Earnin and this is their fault. The Earnin app has serious flaws when it comes to changing banks or jobs - it is always a giant hassle to change these things. Life happens and people do not keep the same jobs/banks for their entire life.

Desired Outcome

I want Earnin to work with my bank regarding the disputed $332 in charges from 9/11/19. I expect the charges to be reversed from my old checking account, and completely erased from my Earnin account - I should not owe them anything due to their error. I expect Earnin to compensate me if there are any overdraft fees associated with their error.

Earnin Response • Dec 03, 2019

After a review of the account, it looks as though the community member was able to contact our community advocates and deter the funds. If there is anything else we can assist the community member with, please do not hesitate to reach out to one of our support channels.

Withdrawal was successful on my end but not theirs
My account is on hold because I owe $52 and on 8/28 my bank shows a successful transaction of $52 to the company. I sent screenshots of my transaction and my statement to prove that it was successfully taken out but they keep telling me it failed. The money was withdrawn. The debit was paid but they say I still can't cash out. Now they are going to try to pull out another $52 and that's a scam because it's already been proven to have been paid.

Desired Outcome

I just want them to fix the transaction on their end so I can continue to use their services.

Earnin Response • Nov 24, 2019

Upon checking the community member's account, we see the community member had a cancelled restore on 9/11/19 for an amount of $52 and another failed restore on 9/13/19 for a total of $50. If the community member feels there is a disconnect between our debits and their bank's transactions, we advise that they contact their bank so they can give them more insight into the debit in question.

We apologize for this inconvenience, however on our end we see that those transactions have not been recovered.

Chronically poor bank connection, but presently cannot even get in to access account information because the connection is so blocked.
This has happened once before about 1.5 years ago and took weeks to fix, for some reason. It has been resolved for a while, but am now not even able to access the information about my upcoming debits or access a much-needed cashout to clear a time-sensitive check (even though I've been using and referring people loyally since far before the app rebranded to Earnin from Activehours.

I hope we can get this resolved because I deeply support the service this company provides and want them to continue working out any system issues so they can improve and keep offering it.

Desired Outcome

Specific information and active communication related to why my account is stuck in limbo and unable to be accessed, as well as an updated ETA around when I can expect to hear back from them, if not an ETA for actual resolution of my account.

Earnin Response • Nov 23, 2019

Our community advocates are awaiting a response from this community member. The last email sent stated

"I just received a response from our bank provider regarding your case. To resolve this, could you please try to enter your bank information in the app and make it sure to answer the Multi-Factor Authentication along the process. If this doesn't work, kindly send us a screenshot of the error or the page you're stuck on. Thanks!"

We see this community member has uninstalled the app but has not deleted the app. If the CM would still like to use Earnin, she need simply input her bank information again.

This company takes more than the allotted amount out of my bank account.I have wored with their customer service without success. They blame my bank
For 3 pay periods in the past six weeks they have taken more money than was borrowed through their app. They stated that they received confirmation from my bank that the money was deposited and asked me for bank statements. I showed them that the account was not credited with the amount they say but they will not repay me. For three pay periods they have taken $500 from me but I did not borrow that amount through the app. I am seeking restitution and will delete the app and discontinue use when I have been reimbursed. I have sent proof through my bank statements that the money was never deposited but they with draw it anyway!!!

Desired Outcome

I want my money back. This pay period I borrowed $250mbut the app says I owe $500 Last pay period they withdrew $500 butt I only borrowed $300 The ay period before that I borrowed $300 but they took $500 from my bank There is no winning with them. They take the money before I can even get the dispute cleared up.

Earnin Response • Nov 24, 2019

In our last communication with this community member (9/9/19), she was informed by our community advocate of the following cash outs:

9/9/19 2:13 PM $50
9/6/19 10:17 PM $100
9/4/19 10:45 PM $50
9/2/19 3:56 PM $100
9/1/19 5:49 PM $100
8/30/19 12:06 PM $100

These cash outs total $500. The subsequent debits were not made in error as we have clear record of the above cash outs made by the community member. The community member ceased communication with our support team after being informed of these cash outs.
