Terms of Services pages does not apply to my situation and I am being denied to get the service I want.
Today I spoke to multiple agents about my issue I was having with them decreasing my pay period max limit every time I get paid. I was told that it would not be decreased again since I met each of the factors all the time and my account does not have any issues. I spoke to an agent which I have proved of that my limit would be increase and she did it already and when I went to check my account nothing was done. the increase for $250 from $200. stated that "per the Terms of Services on page 7 that I agreed upon using service. That we may limit the total number Pay Outs that you may receive at any given time or over a period of time. We may decline to extend a Pay Out to you if we reasonably believe such refusal is necessary or advisable for legal or security reasons or to protect the services. If you generally fail to maintain a balance in your bank account that is sufficient to cover your repayment of a Pay Out, we may decline to allow you to obtain a Pay Out for as long as we determine to be necessary or appropriate". Which this part of the agreement does not apply to me since I have only had one increase and it was an error on the app on 08-09-19 and they fixed my issue so that should not account against me as a increase. So technically I have not had an increase. And my account has never failed to maintain a balance to cover my repayment on my Earnin account. Neither of these to apply to me and I am still being denied for increase. Which they are debiting from my account $250 and then decreasing my limit to $200 which is leaving me $50 short to make a payment to my rent and if I do not make the payment then I will be kicked out and homeless. I mentioned that to the agents and the supervisor *** which they did not care about me not paying my rent and being homeless. This is getting to be a bit ridiculous that I have to contact them about my account and my limits changing when they should not be if I meet the factors on the account to determine my decrease or increase and always repay my amounts on time. *** was not able to assist me and do anything for me and stated I do not meet the factors and terms which I do according to what I read and sent to me. He denied me to speak to his manager for this issue and when I stated I was filing a Revdex.com complaint he then replied quickly and was then able to get me to a manager. Which I should not have to mention Revdex.com to speak to a manager if he is not solving my issue. Spoke to *** who is the manager and he states that it is now a system issue and that the system determines whether it would be increased or decreased and they have no control of changing the limits. I am getting different info from the manager which now I don't even know who to believe since I got different answers from the agents, supervisor and the manager. *** then mentions that the system would decrease *** to ensure that we could not debit more on you account which to me make no sense because my account has had no issues debiting the $250 and don't know why there would be an issue debiting $200. so it supposedly decreased it because the system detects that I wont have the $250 on the account when it was never an issue before. He the states that the system is seeing some recurring debits on my account and it will reduce my max limit. The recurring debits has never changed on my account and asked him if he can tell me the recurring debits that the system is seeing. He states he does not have access to the system to view my balance or debits but that sometimes the system sees recurring debits or continuous low balance which may decrease max. That means that the system is the one having the issue reading my balance and debits because nothing has changed with my recurring debits and my balance has never been low so the system needs to be fixed. He apologized and states they do not have full control of the account's max changes. which I don't understand since they said they could not make the change at first
Would like the company to fix my issue in regards to my pay period max limit since the error was done on the systems and my account meets the factors and terms to determined to be increased. I would not want my max to be decreased because of the system not seeing my recurring debits or balance.
Hello, ***,
We have thoroughly reviewed your account and understand your concerns with your Max decrease. Our community advocates advised your correctly in your chats: Earnin determines your pay period Max based on bank health, Earnin use, the ability to restore on time, and many other factors. Based on our terms of service that you were able to succinctly summarize above, Earnin can increase or decrease Maxes based on many factors, and our community advocates are unable to change this Max outside of the one-time courtesy you have received.
This one-time courtesy has been posted to your account, and you will be able to see a temporary Max increase for this pay period. Again, this Max increase is temporary, and Earnin will automatically adjust your Max on your pay day.
We apologize for the confusion in this matter. Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any further questions.
Now I am being told by *** and a supervisor *** that the reason for my decrease was because of me using another loan application which I have been using since I had my account with Earnin and has never had an issue with my Max limit because of me using that app. That is just ridiculous and I keep getting different answers by every one about my max limit. Before it was a system issue and now it is this. I am now being told my max cannot be increased because they have done it before and it was not even my fault or any issues with my bank account. I am being denied for my increase and that is because of your system having issues.
Our community advocates have given you the correct information regarding your Max. We are constantly updating the way our processes work and part of that is monitoring your account for risk and the ability to repay your debits while still ensuring you have money on your pay day.
They take your money the money you work for .When it's time to borrow your own money back they decrease your max for bogus reasons .They are worse tha
Every payday I pay them back and every payday they decrease my max.In the last month they have ripped me off for 175 dollars They take your own money. You can only chat no one to call the chat is pointless their like a bunch of robots that say the same thing with no solutions
I want the money they have ripped me off for the last moth 175 dollars I want them to stop coming up with their stupid reasons for not giving me my money back. They get paid every payday I want my own money back
We've sent an email to this Community Member but have not received a response. After reviewing all correspondence between this Community Member and our advocates, it appears that there was never $175 taken from them. The only time she has contacted Earnin was due to her max decreasing, which our advocates explained the factors that go into it.
We build maxes to help people keep in control of their finances and not go overboard or occur overdraft fees when we debit your Cash Outs on payday. Maxes are based on how much you make and your spending habits. When a Community Members bank is constantly low or negative, the system considers that and decreases the max, which was the case with here. The max has nothing to do with community members personal earned money.

I am borrowing my own money it shouldn't matter what my account looks like Earnin will increase your max and then right before it's paid back you receive an email saying your max is going to be decreased. You pay them back 350 and only get to borrow 300 of your own money back. That is just another form of payday loan practice. That is how this company makes there money. In the last 2 months alone I have paid them over 150 of my own money which I didn't borrow. It was the company deciding to supposedly decreasing my max my money.I am not satisfied with the outcome. It is quite obvious what there doing but unless you can go without borrowing back it's just a visors cycle My max is 250 now when it was 375 2 paychecks ago .Its just a smarter way of ripping people off
We are still awaiting a response through our support channel from community member ***. Our community advocate reached out to *** on Oct. 17.
Earnin works this way: Earnin will look at how much a community member earns every day so that the community member can access up to that amount whenever they need it. Earnin sends the Cash Out to the community member's checking account, then when their normal payday hits, the employer will pay the member as usual, and Earnin will debit back the amount cashed out with us. We are community-based so at cash out, community members can tip what they think is fair to keep the app running. But there is always a $0 option, and there are no fees or interest.
Pay period Maxes are the Max amount a community member can cash out during a pay period. This is not a dollar amount belonging to the community member; it is a parameter based on the community member's use of the app, bank health and other factors to lower the risk of cashing out more than can be debited back on payday. This Max amount will adjust to match the factors listed in the app. Having consistently low checking account amounts is one of many factors that determine a Max amount as well as fluctuating direct deposit amounts, which is part of why this community member's Max has decreased.
After looking through Earnin's transactions, all of the debits on our end match the Cash Outs made by the community member. If the community member is willing to message our community advocate back with screenshots of their checking account showing incorrect debits, we will be able to investigate further. The screenshots need to be of readable resolution with dates, the community member's name, and the last four digits of their bank account. Again, please send these in response to the message our community advocate send on 10/17/19.
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Once again my max is decreased As I said before this company rips you off My max was lowered this week again now to 200 They claim they are not keeping your money but they are if I am giving you 250 dollars and only being able to get 200 back I'm losing money How hard is it for this company to figure it out simple They just don't want to Since I have filed a complaint they have retaliated even more and lowered my max less This is against the law also Do something about this sleepy company Please!!
We would like to reiterate the way our Max process works. A community member's Max refers to the amount they can cash out within a given pay period. All of our new community members are given a pay period Max of $100 that can increase over time, so long as the community member is able to keep a positive bank balance, they are able to successfully repay their debits, and they do not spend more money than they make. When a community member fails to meet this criteria, as is the case here, their Max will be lowered by our system in order to aid in keeping the community member financially healthy. When a Max is lowered, the new Max refers to the maximum amount the community member is permitted to cash out within a pay period. We would like to reiterate that the Max has nothing to do with the community member's personal earned money, it is simply the maximum amount they are permitted to cash out using the app. In this case, there have been no unnecessary debits from ***'s account. Max increases/decreases are determined by the above criteria and monitored for risk. We would like to assure the community member that we would never lower a community member's Max out of retaliation of any kind as she has alleged. Her Max was lowered due to a failure to meet the above criteria. Again, the Max is not money that belongs to the community member, rather it is a parameter for how much they are allowed to cash out within a given pay period.
She was able to check my location and solve my problem in great time and was awesome as she did it!
Thank you so much for the kind review of our our customer advocate! We appreciate you taking the time to reach out. Thank you for being a valuable part of the Earnin community!
Breach of contract early debit
Earnin has debited my account early twice in the past month and now my account is overdrawn and I have no access to funds
I want my account credited immediately
After taking a look at this Community Member's communication with our team, she initially wrote in regarding her latest restores. It appears as though the transactions were not debited early. The restores were only showing up as pending due to the holiday (Columbus Day) On our end, we can see that the restores were successfully debited from her account on the correct date of 10/15. This Community Member has cashed out multiple times since.
Earnin will request the debit days before due date/payday causing my checking account to be negative and unable to use my account.
For the second time back to back the app requested the borrowed money on a Saturday days before my payday causing my account to be negative and stay in a limbo processing mode. Customer service is absolutely no help and has given me the same copy and paste excuses. I said if it happened again I will be deleting the app and contacting the Revdex.com. I live check to check so when this happens it's like being held hostage. I couldn't buy my respiratory medication.
I want earnin to wait until the date set to send a request to my bank. Also to cover any overdraft fees I might incur.
Hi there. We reached out to you for a resolution but unfortunately have not received a response. If you are being debited early, it is likely because we have your payroll set up incorrectly. If that is the case, it can easily be fixed on our end, we just need your correct pay cycle so we can update your account appropriately. Additionally, if you have incurred overdraft fees from our debits, we can credit you back for the fees as long as you provide a screenshot of Earnin's debits and the overdraft fees in question. We would love to solve this issue for you and we apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.
She was pleasant and took care of my issue with no problems. I really appreciate that. Thanks again so much and thanks for existing earnin!

Excellent customer service provided by Maria, the representative who helped me when I had a question about my loan. Earnin is a reliable, user-friendly tool to use when I need extra funds. I am truly satisfied with the resources they offer and plan to continue using and recommending this app.

Very helpful and very patient. Everything was answered that I needed answered.
Thank you for sharing your experience with Earnin! We are always here to help.
Effective if all you need is quick cash in an emergency on a one time basis, but beware that it is incredibly easy for them to trap you in an endless cycle of cash-outs and reimbursements that isn't easy to break.
A bigger problem with the company though is that their customer service team consistently and conveniently for them can not seem to effectively verify Earnin' bank debits with the banks they work with. This means that the company gets their payment from us (the customer) each pay cycle, and then they make nothing available for us to cash out from afterward, leaving it to us to prove each pay cycle that Earnin' got their money with screenshots which most banks don't allow us to take.
The company is a sham and if I weren't stuck in that endless cycle of needing cash because I am constantly paying back on cash I borrowed the previous period, I would delete this app and never look back.
Hi, Stephanie,
We apologize for the frustration you are experiencing. After reviewing your chats with our community advocates, there seems to be a delay between your bank and Earnin so you aren't always seeing updated amounts. Earnin does not have real-time communication with your bank, so there can sometimes be this delay. We are always available on our support channels to help solve any concerns you have.
I always receive Excellent customer Service wit Earninss live Chat.
The reps go above & beyond to help!!!

"Jerminia, was very helpful and used my time sheet to get my account updated.Very professional and Customer Service oriented."
So glad to hear that Jerminia was able to help get your account updated. Thanks for the 5-star review!
They have been a blessing to my family... when they made a mistake they immediately fixed it. Customers who complain may not have provided proper screen shots of documents requested to correct the issue. They debit before my payday making my account negative and I sent them the screenshot of my debits and they Immediately reverses the debits being my account to a positive... this company has amazing customer service. The response time is always about 30 mins. Great Company with amazing Customer Seevice.

I received an overdraft fee on my account from a withdrawal that was attempted.
I received a notification from my back that a withdrawal was attempted but was denied for NSF. I called the bank and was told that Earnin attempted to do a withdrawal. I also received a notice from the bank. I made contact with as earnin customer service and was told that my issue would be escalated and I would hear back in 24 hours. I did near anything so I called back again and was told another 24 hours. I waited 48 hours and called back and the rep told me that there was nothing showing withdrawn. I emailed the information that I received from the back. With he last rep I spoke to he told me that if it was declined it would not show on their end. I have the notification and the information from my bank and would like my money refunded.
Refund $29
Hi there. We apologize that you you have had a negative experience with our customer support. One of our specialists reached out to you to come to a resolution regarding your overdraft fees but unfortunately, we have received no response. Please know, we are able to refund overdraft fees if you provide us with the correct documentation showing that they indeed came from Earnin's debits. Thank you.
