HAS TRIED TO CONTACT THE COMPANY MULTIPLE TIMES BECAUSE OF CONSTANT OVER DRAFT FEE FOR MULTIPLE WITHDRAWAL FEES.
MY SON IS UNABLE TO REMOVE HIS BANK ACCOUNT INFORMATION FROM THIS APP. HELP
I PAIDTHE BANK ON 11/8/19 $ *** BECAUSE OF MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO TAKE DIFFERENT AMOUNTS BACK TO BACK. 12/5/19 BANK ACCOUNT IS AGAIN OVER DRAFTED BUT NOW IN THE AMOUNT OF $ *** A REFUND FOR ALL THE OVERDRAFTS THAT THEY HAVE CREATED ON OUR JOINT BANK ACCOUNT.
While we wish to assist our community and take possible overdraft situations seriously, we will need to be in direct contact with the account holder and no other party in order to investigate this situation. Please have the community member holding the Earnin account reach out to one of our support channels for further assistance. Thank you.
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I don't because this effects me just as much as my 18 year old son. My son has responded from his email this evening and hopeful we can resolve this. I currently have a negative bank balance of *** that I have to pay because of them ,my son is no longer employed. This makes no sense at all, this company is just a scam.
Thank you
Again, we wish to help, but we do need to review the account. Security is our top priority at Earnin, and we will need to be in direct contact with the account owner to further review this Revdex.com case. If the account holder would like to reach out to us via Revdex.com, we would be able to assist further. Thank you.
fee!!
Emailed EARNIN 15X week-Ignores issues & now ignores emails entirely
Asked to speak to someone in charge - no response!!
BEYOND DISGUSTED
Phone broke so I couldn't use/control/manage the app *** OD fee!!!***
-Emailed "Customer support" (basically doesn't exist) 15X in a *** week about this issue
-Spoke to two people *** & ***) who both lied to me (I have the emails proving this)
I've repatedly requested to speak with a person in charge and those emails have been entirely ignored
Earnin is about as shady and fly by night as it gets
Resolution in the form of a letter acknowledging my grievances, an explanation as to why they have been ignored and an apology from whomever actually runs this outfit to be IN WRITING, signed and with a legitimate return address. spare corporate boilerplate, platitudinal nonsense. Just take ownership!
We reached out to this community member via email and came to a resolution regarding their grievance. The community member has been refunded the overdraft fee of *** and we apologize that they were not sufficiently helped by our support team.
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Refunding the overdraft fee was only part of my complaint. I've been waiting almost 10 days for the balance shield feature to be activated (was told it would take 24 hours on 12/4 it is now 12/13)
Two days later and emails are not being returned
Before the community member reached out regarding their overdraft concern, Balance Shield was not activated in their account. Our community advocate activated their Balance Shield on 12/4 to prevent any future overdraft concerns. However, due to the community member's broken phone, they have been unable to use the app since then. Balance Shield would have taken effect on 12/4 however, without access to the app, we are unable to track their hours and therefore unable to utilize Balance Shield until they have regained access to the app and we are able to track their hours accordingly.
The community member has been informed that they must have access to the app in order to make any cash outs, as we are unable to cash out on the community member's behalf. Once they are able to use the app again, their hours will be tracked and the Balance Shield feature will be active.
It's an amazing app! I use it all the time and I never have any issues. The Earnin staff are amazing and there available 24 hours a day if you need some assistance. I prefer this app because they do not charge you to use the app, no interest rates or fees, educate you on preventing over drafts etc. Get your money in advance and tip what's fair. It's that simple.
Thank you so much for the kind review! We love hearing that you have had such a positive experience with the app and our support team. We are always here to help community members like yourself! We appreciate you taking the time out of your day to provide such positive and valuable feedback. A big thank you from everyone here at Earnin!
I have worked my normal salary job for past two weeks, except for Thanksgiving. Because I am salary, they track my earnings with my phone GPS which is functioning fine. I had no available earnings on their app this morning so I reached out via the app to "talk" to someone (2 people actually) after the hoops I had to jump through with the first rep.
The rep said they did not track my last 2 weeks and it was my phones fault, which it was not bc I did nothing different to my phone. BEWARE! Their tracking ability is sporadic at best currently and it's disappointing b/c until this pay period I have had no issues.
This company could really mess with your finances if you are depending on them for unexpected cost or more costly months, like Christmas. I would say keep the money you have in a savings account to cover when their app does not track your work hours correctly, but what good is their services if you have to have a back up fund for your backup (Earnin). There is no customer service line to speak to a live person so any disputes are done via text. Horrible customer service. BEWARE!
We apologize that this community member has had a negative experience with our support team and regret that we could not resolve the issue. If we are unable to track earnings via GPS, for one reason or another, earnings can be added by providing an electronic timesheet. We understand that salaried employees do not always have timesheets, in which case they can reach out to their employer to help provide us with the necessary information needed to appropriately add their hours. We do see that the community member's GPS is currently enabled and their hours are now tracking accurately.
Provide timesheets that take "a few days" to process, according to the Earnin rep., which by the way, does nothing for the customer who needed the earnings to have been tracked correctly in the first place so time sheets would not be necessary. I no longer trust Earnin's app.
We apologize for the inconvenience and know how frustrating this can be. At this time, sending timesheets is the best way to add your hours if your hours did not accumulate through GPS.
Early charge from Earnin, caused issues with checking account resulting in returns with fees.
My Account is going to be hit with a NSF Fee I reached out to Earnin on Nov 28th and 29th several times regarding my account. *** NSF fees are pending 2-4x. No responses made or autoresponds from their online websubmits. Sent emails directly to their Customer Service email.
DESIRED OUTCOME:
Please Revoke/STOP ALL DEBIT'S and pay for the NSF fees.
DESIRED OUTCOME: Please Revoke/STOP ALL DEBIT'S and pay for the NSF fees.
Our community advocate reached out to the community member with this message and is awaiting a response: First, I would like to confirm your pay cycle. We have your cycle listed as
Pays every other week on Friday. Holidays always pay the day before.
Is this correct?
Thank you for sending the screenshot of your account. We do need further screenshots showing the NSF fee caused by Earnin so we can take further steps. Please make sure the screenshots have your name, the last four digits of your checking account, clear dates, and in context of the other transactions in your checking account.
I look forward to helping you further.
How can I owe you my own money?? I I cash out through the earnin app how can I pay them my own money that they give me access to??? Hidden fees.
I have had the earnin app for about six-eight months.. I would use it moderately.. However when looking @ my bank account debits it seemed like a ghost in the machine ( in a sense) because I would have these withdrawals that I did not make or authorize from my account... I never thought about earnin az the sourse of these debits to my bank account.. Initially earnin states ( "no hidden fees or charges") this morning of 11/30/2019 my bank account was depleted to *** because earnin has withdrawn *** From my account.. If this is earnin giving me access to my own money that I work very hard for everyday.. Then how can I owe them fees for my own money??
REF. If there are no hidden fees or charges then the amounts of *** *** *** *** *** totaling *** in hidden fees and charges that they have taken frm me for thier false advertisement of no hidden charges...
After checking the community members account, we see that they have cashed out the following amounts:
*** plus a *** tip on 11/15/19
*** plus a *** tip on 11/15/19
*** plus a *** tip on 11/19/19
*** plus a *** tip on 11/20/19
*** plus a *** tio on 11/29
Earnin allows our community members to cash out the money they earn before their payday. On their payday, we debit the same amount they cashed out, plus the tip of their choosing. These are not hidden fees or charges. The amount debited directly mirrors the amount the community member cashed out. None of these debits were made in error.
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I do not accept their response because they still hav taken all of my money in one whole day not to mention put my bank account in overdraft for *** is not acceptable because when my pay check comes it will be taken for the overdraft which will not allow me to pay my bills...a refund is the only thing that will fix any of this problem...I know im not the only one to make a complaint about this company...the reviews speak for themselves...I demand my money back...
On our end, we see the restores for the credits listed but no debits made for 11/30/19. We will need screenshots of the community member's checking account with Earnin's restores and any overdraft fees in context of the community member's checking account transactions from 11/14/19 to 12/01/19. Please make sure the screenshots contain the community member's full name and last four digits of the checking account. Please make sure the screenshots are clear and show the dates listed. These can be sent in to our community advocates with an explanation of the issue at hand. This is the most secure way to relay this information.
Earnin took funds from my checking account several days too early, caused overdrafts, and will not respond or accept responsibility.
Earnin withdrew funds from my checking account rather than my check itself, in collecting 3 days too early, causing me 2 overdrafts that threw me further in debt. I've contacted their customer service on 3 different occasions, all claimed that they were forwarding my case to customer support, with no word being heard again. I've even contacted them just to ask that my case be checked in to, and each time they've responded like it was the first time I complained about it (obviously proving they aren't actually forwarding the case or bookmarking it like they've also claimed).
I want both my funds withdrawn by Earnin back, and my overdrafts paid by Earnin.
Upon checking the community members account, we see that he was indeed debited before his payday as his payroll was set up incorrectly. He has been credited for the overdraft fees incurred. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused and hope this resolution is sufficient.
Earnin took their repayment back a day early. This caused me to receive over $200 in non sufficient funds fees. They will not pay me back. Blames bank
Earnin has known my pay date. They know I get paid every other Friday and have followed that every time except this. I took a payday advance and they were scheduled to withdraw the payback on 11/29. Instead, they took the payback on the 28th. This caused me to receive over $200 in non sufficient funds fees. I spent the following two days trying to talk to a customer representative. Each one, giving me a runaround and redirecting me to a "specialist". I was even told that the NSF fees would be paid back to me by 24 hours. This did not occur. Then, they blame my bank. I have spoken with my bank and they have told me Earnin posted a day early and there is nothing they can do about it. Earnin did not follow through with their end of the agreement. I am a single mother and this is the whole reason I was using themnow they've created the situations I was trying to avoid.
Someone also said they would call me at 9am today so we could call my bank together. They did not.
I am seeking to have the money that was taken for non sufficient fees for the transactions as well as what earnins debits caused
After reviewing this community member's account with Earnin and chats with our community advocates, we see that the three-way call had been rescheduled and was made, and our customer service credits for the overdraft fees have posted to your account. Our community advocates provided concise communication about the bank's action vs. Earnin's. If there is anything else we can do to assist, the community member is always welcome to reach out to our 24/7 support
I've been reading up on customers saying that Earnin keeps deducting their amount every pay period recently more and more and it makes me question them. They claim that there are reasons why they do this, but I don't think they get that they are basically stealing our money that we basically are borrowing from ourselves. For example. I get paid a certain amount each pay period because I am on salary. I, unfortunately, I have to keep using them to keep borrowing the money that I need. So it's basically like borrowing from myself. Now mind you it's $50 decrease but that is still $50 from my paycheck that you are taking from me. And it's always the last minute and always right before my payday. And that to me is not fair since there are things that I need to pay for with that money and they completely screw you over. Not cool. Now I am quoting what they are saying: "so long as the community member is able to keep a positive bank balance, they are able to successfully repay their debts, and they do not spend more money than they make." Now you claim all this and I have done all this but you still keep deducting me? I do keep a positive bank account and never have I been overdraft, I always pay back what I borrow since I make enough to cover that. And I have to spend money in order for me to pay my rent and my bills so I don't get their last statement. You guys claim this is automatic, so what I suggest is you guys update this. Or have some control over this. Your customer service always sounds automated and full of text expanders that you sort of modify. you never sound sincere or able to work anything out. You guys really need help updating everything. And stop relying on "unfortunately our system has this and that" it's annoying and it doesn't help the customer at all.
Hi, there,
We apologize for the issue you are having with your Max. We do see that your account dipped below a healthy status (positive account) which can affect your pay period Max. Please let us know if you have any other concerns or questions.
I'm sorry but what is a "healthy account?"
A bank account with a positive balance above $100 is considered a healthy account.
You see that is not stated in your term and agreement. So how about you update it again and then get back to me. As long as I pay my dues back I should continue getting a higher cash out. I understand if I was not paying you back or lagging on doing so. But that has never happened.
The support team is Lovely and polite. They made sure to solve my problem and that I was completely satisfied before the chat ended. Wonderful service. Love this app
Thank you for sharing your experience with Earnin! We appreciate your feedback and appreciate you as a valued community member.
Do NOT use this company. No matter how much you show you are financially responsible and show that their system is making errors on their end, they do not care and make it seem as if you are irresponsible wit budgeting. They will reduce your amount even if you have no negative accounts, that you have positive accounts, show that your bank transactions are always positive and that you will never take out the full max, they reduce your max and state that you have a balance under $100. So they penalize you even though you have a positive bank account and budget. They don't care.
Do NOT use them. And I was a good customer for almost 3 years and showed proof I was responsible. Personally, I think they lower the amounts to keep more on top of the amount you pay on the loan.
It's a payday loan scam with a fake friendly face.
Hi, there,
Maxes are affected by factors including Earnin use, the ability to pay us back, and healthy checking account. There is not real-time communication between Earnin and your bank account, so this may likely be why we don't see current updates, and this is why we ask you try to stay consistent with your bank health. However, it does look like your Max is staying farily consistent, but do feel free to reach out to us for further questions and concerns. Thank you!
Wish I could give this garbage app zero stars. First time using the app. Will also be the last. The whole premise of this ripoff app is to "help". I downloaded it, and then debated for days on using it. It finally came down to using it, or being overdrawn. Or so I thought. Turns out, I get both! Earnin took their payment a full 2 days before they were supposed to, and then refused to apologize, or even attempt to make it right. Instead, they repeatedly blamed my bank, and talked down to me like I was an i
e. My payday is the 29th...not a holiday, so there is no reason to draft the payment 2 days early, even if The 28th IS a holiday. The termed state if payday falls ON a holiday, they will draft the payment a day early. NOWHERE does it says if your payday is close to a holiday, we're gonna go ahead and take it 2 days early, and screw you in the process. So yeah, I got the cash I needed, but now because of these shady practices, I also get overdraft fees. I regret leaving a tip, it's definitely NOT deserved. I will be deleting the app, and make sure all my social media contacts, family, and friends see my review, and warn everyone I can always from this scam. And customer service is rude, condescending, and worthless. Don't blame the bank, when you initiated the withdrawal 48 hours early. You can't post-date a withdrawal, just like you can't post-date checks anymore. And you people should know this. You're awful, and deceitful. I would have been better off just paying the overdraft fee.
Hi, there,
We apologize for the experience you are having. We never want our community to go through an issue like this. Please know that we have looked into your account, and one of our community advocates has responded to your message. It will be in your email inbox. On our end, it shows a post date of 29, but our advocates were correct in informing you that the restores are in a pending state with the bank for two business days before they are to be posted. If they were posted to your account earlier, you will need to reach out to your bank. After that, we may be able to help adjust your pay cycle through Earnin to better accommodate. Our community advocate has asked for further documentation to see what Earnin can do to help you.
Thank you for reaching out.
Joei was so helpful and resolved my problem quickly. Interacting with her was super!
Thank you so much for the five star review of our community advocate! We are always here to help. Feel free to reach out to us anytime and thank you for your continued support!
Took Money out of my Bank account without consent which caused major overdrafts
My Place of employment is having issued with our direct deposits which caused them not to go in yet today. This Company Earnin Took money out of my account which caused me to go in the negative of over 200 dollars. They took it out in 3 transactions which I will most likely be charged an over draft fee for each one. This company has horrible customer service and should be shut down!
I would like the money put back into my bank account until my direct deposit is deposited. If this does not happen I will be forced to dispute the transactions as fraudulent.
In our last communication with this community member on 11/22/19, our community advocate advised the community member to send us screenshots of the overdraft fees in question so we can appropriately evaluate the issue. We still have not received the screenshots and unfortunately cannot move forward without them. Our community advocate has reached out and we are awaiting a response so we can come to a resolution. The chat remains open, should the community member wish to send us the appropriate information.
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I sent screenshots as they asked. It's not my fault there customer service lacks knowledge on how to do there jobs properly.
Reached out to the community member via email. Our debits posted on 11/22 were correct, but we informed the community member of the procedure to follow if direct deposits are inconsistent or missing (reach out 2-3 business days before restores are scheduled so our community advocates are able to reschedule the debits to avoid OD fees).
We confirmed pay schedule of every other week on Fridays.
We provided one-time courtesy reimbursement of (4) OD fees and (2) day after OD fees as per screenshots the community member sent in to our advocate via email.
My Account was hit with a *** Fee
I reached out to Earnin on Nov 22nd several times regarding my account. I advised the CEO and his Support team.
I'm in the hospital sick with my Chronic rheumatoid arthritis. I'm not working I'm on LWOP(LEAVE WITHOUT PAY)
until I can return back to work.
I advised them to Revoke all debits from my Joint Account with my husband. Earnin advertises there's no fee's my account was hit with an Overdraft Fee of *** I might report them to the Federal Government Agency the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau ASAP
I want them to Cover the *** fee and Revoke/STOP ALL DEBIT'S UNTIL I GET BACK TO WORK WHEN I GET OUT OF THE HOSPITAL.
The community member's authorization has been revoked as per her request. Additionally, she has been issued a credit for *** that should post to her account on 11/27.
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
Earnin did assist me with my concerns.
I am satisfied with the results.
These people stole money from me and when I said the charges were fraud the didn't even care. I want my money back
*** dollars were sent to an account that I didn't authorize and they make it out to be my fault. They have alot of issues
I want my money back
In our last chat (7/12/19), the community member contacted support regarding a bank connection issue. On our end, we see that the community member's bank account was closed. We do not have a record of the community member reaching out about an unnecessary debit or fraudulent charges. The community member only cashed out once for the amount of $60 on 7/6/19. The associated debit was cancelled on 7/12/19, presumably because the community member's bank account was closed.
She was very fast and efficient! She knew exactly what to do and how to fix my problem.
Thank you so much for the kind words! We are so happy to hear that our community advocate was able to help you out. Thank you for being a part of the Earnin community!
"He took care of my problem like immediately & was totally kind & pleasant. Basically exactly what you want when dealing with customer service, especially when it affects your money. Thanks again!"
Thank you for sharing your experience with Earnin's community advocates! Let us know if you need any further help. We're always here for our community.
Before about 2 months ago I was very pleased with this service because it helped me with my finances and I refered several friends to use this service. Now after almost two months of my pay period decreasing and money I needed being taken I am very sad. I tried to reach out to someone today and they kept saying that my balance kept being to low and that is why it is decreasing. Nothing has really changed in the last year but 2 raises. I told them I transfer money into my savings frequently which well I do to save. She said that is why its decreasing???? Because it cant read my actual balance??? I really dont understand this companies tactics. If the system really is the one in control of the max increasing and decreasing and leaves no control of its employees making the changes where is the customer service in this?
Maxes are affected by many different factors such as having a low bank balance and inconsistent direct deposits. To make sure your Maxes stay on track, we recommend that you:
Maintain a positive bank balance and avoid overdraft fees
Spend less money than you make
Have enough money in your bank account to cover our scheduled debits
If you need help keeping track of recurring payments and upcoming bills, you can use the calendar feature on the Earnin app. Like all our services, this feature is available at no charge, interest, or hidden costs.
The last time it decreased I had over $400 in just my checking and more in my savings. This is more than I normally have in either account. This is why I am confused. Thank you for your response though.
Refund of OD fees promised was not completed. No one to contact by phone. Spent almost 3 hours dealing with them through chat. Ridiculous
s running it or it's a scam. I am so mad from dealing with this, I am shaking. I will let anyone who will listen that this is a scam and not to use it. I knew better, but I was in a difficult situation and needed the money. Never again.
The first women I spoke to said that they would refund me 75 after I got my direct deposit. Tried to contact her back and no answer. Called again last night, girl said they would be in my account yesterday and nothing. Waited all day, nothing. Spoke with 2 people AGAIN tonight and they both told me that they had already processed it. I understand that, but it's NOT IN MY ACCOUNT. Sent them screenshots of my account (which is 202 overdrawn at this point). They said that it didn't show any transactions beyond the 13 (when everything bounced). I tried to explain to them that when people are overdrawn in their checking accounts that means there is no more money to buy anything so they wouldn't be any transactions after that. I thought this was common knowledge to people but I guess no. They still didn't understand so I had to type slower. I sent them a shot of the balances in my account that matched what I was overdrawn with a literal TIME AND DATE STAMP of when I pulled up my online banking. Still didn't understand. Honestly, the thing that I'm most mad at is they wouldn't even give me a number to call them so I didn't have to explain all this over and over in a text basically. So now I have to contact them for the 4th time tomorrow when the money still hasn't hit my account. I believe this app to be a scam. They either have complete i
I want all 5 of my overdraft fees to be waived since I have been through all this mess. I have NEVER in my 40 years contacted the Revdex.com, but I am so angry at this I can't even see straight. All I wanted was my money and to not ever have to deal with them again. They need to know that having a telephone line for people to be able to call is important. Some of us older people don't want to have to type something for an hour that could be taken care of in 5 mins by phone.
Hi, there!
We see that two customer service credits of $75 each were posted on 11/18 and 11/22. If these amounts are not reflected in your account, please reach out to our community advocates with screenshots of your checking account so we can follow through with the next steps.
