I purchased a laptop, Dell inspiron 5547, from a Future Shop retailer in August of The laptop in question cost close to $dollars by itself, plus additional costs for software, extended warranty, etcI am not disputing the price, it is a lovely machine and preforms excellently
The problem is question is that in the years of owning said machine it has broken twiceBoth timesides were not software issues but hardware issuesOn both occasions I opened the lid/screen of the laptop and the plastic housing around the hinge crackedThe first when I attempted to close the lid after the crack the entire right bracket broke away and left the screen hanging from a single left bracketWhen I took it to have it repaired the support services at the retailer said that there was a problem with the plastic and that it was brittleBut it was was fixed and a new casing was fitted for the components so I did not press the issue with the manufacturer
The second incident occurred
In early October I went on to the Dell outlet website and purchased a 11” inspiron laptop from the scratch and dent portion of their website for $Just last Tuesday the screen decided to give outCalled customer service/tech support and they helped me try to troubleshoot the issue and it still wouldn’t turn onThey also told me that they might have to replace the mother board at that time but never mentioned that I would be charged for any repairs So in turn they sent me a call tag to send to their repair center in TexasOnce it arrived there a few days later I get an email from them stating that there was a liquid spilt on the keyboard and that the mother board was gonna need replacement for a charge of $more than what I paid for the unit itselfThey said that the flaw was my fault and wasn’t covered under any type of warrantySo in not so many words they are not willing to give me any type of break or offer to replaceI paid cash for the unit and will never purchase anything from Dell ever again
I have order a Laptop that is certain configuration - GHz Processor with 4MB Cache and Screen display of inch priced at $
Instead I have received a Laptop with GHz Processor with 2MB Cache with a screen size of inch and the display is inch an the rest of the inch is a frame, such a slow processor like that is an really old tech exists only in old cheap computers
The laptop came with a garbage adaptor that got very hot and plug it in the outlet for minutes, and if left their it easily could catch a fire and it may burn down the house if left over night to charge the laptop

I was recently made aware of performance issues with the Laptop PC I purchased from Dell in 12/ I have tried to resolve the issue over the phone, but every service call that they say will take 30-minutes runs 2-hours I've been on three plus The issue still is not resolved I used all my wireless minutes I sit at 'borrow' pc's waiting for email responses from them, that don't come I cannot spend any more time waiting
So after spending two hours with a sales representative and having DELL recommend this to me now it's not available
I call to ask what's going on, I get hung up on not once or twice but FOUR times - unbelievableThen when I get to someone and ask to speak to a sales manager I'm told no? It wasn't until I finally raised my voice I got a manager - whom was nastyFirst I was told that the pricing was messed up then I'm told that the product has been out of stock for monthsWhen I questioned why he was making stories up INSTANTLY he transfers me to some random department
How can they allow employees to treat customers like this? Do they as a corporate company encourage nasty behavior and lying? I for one as a customer do not like being called stupid
You pay people to input data such as prices correctly, but your customers suffer when they can't do it properly
I ordered a monitor on 6/28/and requested 2nd day shippingIt was supposed to arrive on 7/1/Dell did not actually ship the order until 7/6, and then shipped it via Ground shippingAs of toady, 7/7, the monitor still has not arrivedThis has resulted an employee in my office not being able to work because Dell did not honor their commitment I spent over three hours on the phone with Dell this morning trying to get this issue resolved to no avail
Nice products while they workPray you never need customer service thoughIt's almost non-existentNearly weeks and my issue remains unresolvedI have spent hours on the phone (mostly on hold), and the support staff they do have are poorly trained and unqualified
I would suggest never buying from this company
I purchased two Inspiron convertibles for my children, as starter computers Both computers were advertised as Windows compatible Both became unusable after upgrading to the free Windows Upgrade roll-out I now had two $paper weights, as my children would not use them due to glitching and poor performance They could not even stream YouTube without locking up I called Dell and asked if I could return them towards an upgrade, but they insisted that it was a software problem and not a hardware issue Even though Dell is the system integrator building the hardware and installing the operating system (software), they will proclaim that they are not responsible for software issues and direct you to Microsoft They claimed that they only marked the laptops as Windows compatible because Microsoft required them to do so and that they were not responsible if the machines did not have enough memory and storage to upgrade to Win The Dell representatives were rude, argumentative, combative, and demeaning on the phone They proclaim to only be responsible for the hardware portion of the PC So, they don't support the integrated end product that they sell I guess the message is to buy from a company store that builds hardware and software and supports both
So I’m hoping this will help

I bought a Dell Inspiron in and it was hardly ever used and I kept security on itLast year the computer stop working, wouldn't power onI sent the computer to Dell to be repaired, paid out of pocket for shipping am repairs ($240.35)Less than a year later it quit again, same issueI was given a months warranty on the repairsI contacted support and was told they will have to charge me for the repair againI have spent a lot of money with DellI bought a laptop in for myself (no longer working, will not power on), the all-in-one desktop in laptop in for my daughter (which I had to send back to them for repairs also)

I’ve been trying to get my Dell laptop repaired with no luck since 04/18/ There have been two in home repairs, I’ve chated with an agent online and allowed them to check all of my system settings, I performed a complete system reset as requested by the agent and I’ve also replaced the hard drive myself as you requested
None of these have corrected the issue The issue is that the computer will run for 30-minutes at a time then it starts to get very hot, to the point it’ll burn you Then the system freezes and has to be turned off to cool for about an hour, after the hour it’ll run again for another 30-minutes
I cannot send the system in for a depot repair as it’s the only system I have to use and I need it for work While it doesn’t work great it does still work for a period of time The reason I purchased a Dell computer and the upgraded warranty (including accident protection) is so that if it did need repairs I could get it fixed in-home Sending it in for the
