Annuities cannot get any information on my annuity I have contacted them several times for information but all I get is a runaround
I have called them about giving me my annuity value first I called and they said they would send it in the mail I never received it then I called and had to give them my address and again they said they would send out my annuity value still never received it I called again and ask them to fax the information they said no problem thy would fax to the phone number I gave them and still again it never came I am very concerned now that they have stolen my annuity and I want the money to invest in something else I have had this annuity for several years I got it through my bank but a had been sold a couple of times with different companies and I have never had as much trouble as I have now they are very vague about the value and if it still exists they said they are restructuring but it's been over six months and still no update or information no web site to

The company is not paying on the annuity within the terms they originally advised me ofI have to maintain consistent follow up to keep it moving

The company should be out of business, in my opinion! Customer service is a nightmare! They failed to show me how to update credit card's expiration date while screaming in mails that I should do it asapThe web site is not functionalIt's constantly in a batch updating operation mode, so there is no access to it for making even trivial updates or changes Representatives I spoke to do not have any more "updating powder" than a customerI'm changing me insurance providerI have a suspicion that a company with a record like this will be able to handle a claim, got forbid, one should happen!

Not able to get an Annuity Redemption in a timely manner
I have an Annuity Contract with Athene The contract specifies that Athene will be given 20-days to process a redeemption requestAthene 3rd party administrator acknowledged that my request was received Feb I need MY money (redemption) to pay bills, doctors and medicineIt has been day and Athene has not sent my redemption moneyDue to the need for this money, I made several calls (after the day guideline) to the 3rd party administrator indicating my complaint of not receiving the moneyNo sympathy there so I also called Athene direct with same result No one at Athene or the 3rd party administrator can tell me what is going on with the redemption delayThey won't allow me thru to talk to a supervisor or management (calls after days)I'm desperate - I need MY Money to pay bills, doctors and medicine - and Athene nor it's 3rd party administrator care about my need to access MY moneyThey are BAD custodian

The policy holder service from this company must be known as the WORST in the industryThey are a discrase to the Life business

- My mother has a life insurance police through Athene Life Insurance Company of New York She has had this policy for many years My mother passed away in and for the last several months I have been trying to collect on the policy My brother and I are the only beneficiaries
- The Affadavit for Payment to Surviving Children was the last document required to be submitted in order for Athene to disburse the life insurance funds to my brother and I That paperwork was completed, notarized and faxed to Athene on 2/14/
- Since then I have called multiple times (on 3/5/I spoke with *** & her Supervisor ***, on 3/8/I spoke with ***, on 3/16/I spoke with *** on 3/22/I spoke with ***, on 4/10/I spoke with *** again to inquire as to when the funds would be disbursed and I have received nothing but a run around and still have not received the funds

Athene Annuity has the worst customer service ever!! I have worked now in the insurance and financial services industry for over years, my wife with me also licensed now for yearsWe took on an appointment with Athene for the sole purpose of servicing clients that they acquired through the purchase of Aviva several years agoAthene is absolutely the worst company we have ever been appointed for sales of products and in dealing with everyday affairs for the servicing of our clients whom they have acquired business from resulting from the sale of Aviva, as well as their own propitiatory sales products, one of which we sold to one clientIn our opinion the customers needs are not, and I repeat not a concern of the company once they have acquired new or old businessThis business in the financial services industry is about the consumer meeting their needs financially for proper planning, then continuing service of those needsAthene fails miserably in this department

Athene misinformed me of fees to withdraw my money from annuity and when contacted their response was "sorry for the mistake"
I had an annuity with Athene for over years and wanted to transfer it to another companyCalled Athene and was told that there would be no surrender or MVA (Market Value Adjustment) fees When the money was transferred MVA fee was deducted from my principleWhen I contacted Athene they acknowledged reviewing the recorded tape and that their service agent had made a mistakeI had made a finical decision based in part on this misinformationAthene's response was: sorry for the error but we will not honor what the service agent told you but we will better train our staffSo I was penalized about years interest for their mistakeI contacted Athene several times and complained to my states insurance departmentAthene refuses my request to refund the money they withheld

I am having the same issues as others have stated - due to the system conversion, I have not received any billing for the past years on my and husband's policiesI took out these policies over years ago when I worked at Central Life, which became AmerUs, which became Aviva, then Athene, etcI have gotten infrequent communication from them about the conversionThen I got a payment notice in October for the amount due for the prior quartersI called in as the quarterly premium amounts were incorrect, plus payments sent in last year were not reflected in amounts dueSince then, I have made phone calls to them, trying to get a correct premium notice so I could set up a payment schedule for past premiums dueI have yet to receive oneEvery time I get different information, and an still expecting a new noticeAt today's phone call, I found out that my policy is still in restricted status!! I am unable to speak with someone at Athene regarding my annuity, the issues and questions noted below
I received a letter dated 11/3/on 11/27/from Athene Annuity and Life Company/Athene Life Insurance of New York regarding a "true-up" balance that is due on the contract for payments the company failed to withdraw timely on my annuity on contract
Since receiving the letter, myself and my husband have emailed and called the company on numerous occasions to ask questions regarding this issue and seek resolution with the company We have not been able to get anyone to answer our questions, we have not received the information requested, nor were we given access to speak with the supervisor when requested on two of the phone calls

Absolutely the worst company to deal with I have been trying to get my dividends out of my insurance policy for months Every time I call I get the run around and they are checking my account or I have submitted the wrong form that they sent me I ask for the correct form, they send but nothing until I call them a month later and then I'm told it is the wrong formI have not received a statement for over years and have no idea what is going on with the transition I have since moved and cannot even contact them to change my address I also cannot find an agent that will help me I have had no contact from them for over months as they are reviewing my account I am preparing a letter with my documentation to the Iowa Attorney General to try to resolve this problem and cancel my entire policy since this company does not have the welfare of the consumer in its best interests I definitely would never recommend this company

My mom passed away over a month agoShe had an investment annuity with Athene and I was the beneficiaryI called to report her death and they told me they would mail me forms to fill out that I could fax back and 7-days later, I would receive a check for the amount of the death benefitAfter not receiving any forms, I called back and was told it takes 7-days to process, and another 7-days to mail, then after I resubmit, there would be another 7-days of processing and another 7-days to mail out the checkI asked to speak to a supervisor or claims processor to discuss the details and the process and was told that they did not take phone callsSo I am to wait by the mail box I supposeWhat bothers me is that I also have an investment annuity with them, so this makes me think that if I pass away first, this is the run around my wife will get to go throughWhen I was making the investment and giving them money, they were very quick with the processingNow that it's there turn, things are not moving so fastTime will tell how they handle this from here on out and whether I will recommend this place to anyone elseOne thing I know, their customer service is insensitiveAfter telling these folks of my mother's death on multiple phone calls, I had only one of persons I spoke to, extend a simple condolence to meNot happy with Athene right now
