Alliance One will not follow through with surrendering of my annuity contract
I Have notified Alliance One in writing and on the phone since September, of my intent to withdraw all funds from my annuity and requested a value letter stating the current account balanceAs of November 28, I have not received a letter confirming my account balance, although they state their policy is to issue such letter in 30-daysI requested a surrender form and was told the form would be emailed within 24-hoursAfter waiting hours, I called the company and was told that "email functionality was not working" and the form was mailed on 11/23/I have received a surrender form yet

I have an annuity contract with Athene for years then I received a notice from Athene on December 15, saying that they are going to use a 3rd party administrator called *** to assist with contract administrationThis is the last mail I got from Athene and *** nor have I gotten any annuity statementsI called *** on March 20, and they told me that due to the technical difficulty they are having with the data conversion, the last annuity statement they have is for Sept and they have no idea on how much my annuity value is
For a business to tell their customers that they are not able to transfer data from Athene to their 3rd party administrator after months, this is unbelievable, I am now worried about where is my money
Based on my personal experience and other reviews, I would strongly advise against this company and its produces

I have not received a single statement or correspondence on my tax sheltered annuity contract since December 18,

Since my Aviva policy changed to Athene, I have received no assistance from this company In July I contacted the customer service department with questions about my accountThey not only were unable to answer my questions, the customer service agent had no understanding about what my annuity actually was I asked for information concerning my policy to be sent to me but received nothing I was forced to contact the insurance commissioners of Iowa and Kansas to receive information on my policy Athene communicated with the commissioner of Kansas who was able to pass the documentation on to me, not exactly client friendly I was also assigned an agent by Athene who is apparently a phantom After extensive searching I can find no agent by this nameThe only person I have located in the state of Kansas with the name of my assigned agent passed away in when she was over years old I contacted the resident who lives at the address listed as my agent's agency, but neither he nor his wife are insurance agents When I informed the customer service personnel of this, the customer service agent seemed to have no concern

I received a 1099r from Athene Annuity that shows I had a total distribution of over $in I have not had an annuity with this company everI had an annuity at an old job I had back in which I ended up cashing out, but I paid the early withdraw penalties and paid the taxes on my return in I'm assuming this is the company that bought out the old one This form was sent under my maiden name which also leads me to believe this is the same company
I have attempted to contact them by phone on different occasions and have been placed on hold for over minutes each timeI have also emailed them and the only response I got was to call them

I have a loan against my 403b tax sheltered annuity Before Athene took over the policy, I was receiving statements quarterly Two years ago, this stoppedI called several times and was told they were going through a transition Then I was slammed with a huge bill to pay back what they forgot to bill for months and months I paid it Then they took a payment directly from my checking account, which I never authorized I contacted them and they apologized and said they would begin sending statement They sent one in April 2018, and nothing since I can never get a straight answerI have no option but to use them since they are the company who has been put in charge of handling my annuity These people need to be held accountable for their inability to run their business efficiently, especially when it comes to handling other people's money

Company will not follow through with surrendering an annuity contract
On Sept14, Alliance-One said we had all the correct paperwork in to receive a check in the mail for surrendering an annuity on contract number 10TTXXXXXX They said we would receive a check within to business days I called them on the 20th day and was told it would be another to weeks One week later, on October 19, I called again and was given the same answer that it still had not been processed After weeks, I still have not received the check Every time I call, there is always a new delay
