I have been waiting for Athene Life to refund 1,375 that was taken from my checking without permission On July 26, Athene Life made 11 withdrawals of 125.00 each from my checkIng account. Two months previous they were told to take premiums from my policy. They were informed to do this by me and my agent. Athene life has been dragging there feet on my refund and caused my account to go into overdraft. Everyday there is a new excuse to why my money has not been refunded. I've called everyday and have made complaints to the NC DEPARTMENT OF INSURANCE. I would like my refund and all overdraft charges. I'm considering a lawsuit

In 2013, I purchased a "Benefit IRA" fixed indexed annuity from AtheneIn 2016, I discovered that the investment advisor I bought the annuity from ( [redacted] T [redacted] of [redacted] ***) had not disclosed that I couldn't take a lump sum distribution of all the funds at maturity but that I had to take "regular distributions" in order to receive the "grow lock" amount of my annuity I wrote a letter to Athene asking them to cancel my contract and refund my initial investment (they could keep any accrued interest)They flatly refused saying the contract was legal and they would not let me out of it I wrote a second letter indicating that I was mislead about the terms of the annuity and I was dissatisfied with their product Their response was basically too bad you signed the contract and we're not letting you out of it To summarize, they couldn't care less about customer satisfaction Once they get your money, they're going to keep it as long as they can I am so angry at them I would give them ZERO stars if that was an option
