Nothing was resolved or done by American Family. I was just given an excuse for why they couldn't do anything. It just seemed like I was being blown off.

The information is in the complaint. The issue is $99.00isthe TOTAL PREMIUM RETURNED your words on the bottom of Policy, actually $99.20. When I called the Agency the [redacted] Agency I was told that is was applied to new features. I never asked for any NEW FEATURES! The policy was paid up front and ran from Feb. 22, 2014 tto Feb 22. 22, 2015. The NEW Features policy runs fromOct. 1, 2014 to end of Policy year. The only feature is the great new shingles that were applied in Oct., 2014 that qualified us for a premium reduction of that $99. I'm still looking for that check. Peace, [redacted]
Because that not going to respond back and thay not going to fix the problem or issue
The customer service level for my total loss car claim was unacceptable.

The claims process is handled completely outside of the agency. We do not determine whether a claim is going to be covered, how much it will be covered for and how the claim will be listed. I can tell you that our claims department has to follow Colorado legislative rules, so if American...
Family listed the claim as a collision claim, other companies would have too. If you would like to dispute the way the claim was listed, I would recommend calling our claims department at 1-800-692-6326.
The date of this incident was 9/4/2016. The claim was reported to us on 9/6/2016. On 9/7/2016 a voice message was left for Mr. [redacted] requesting a return call. On the same date correspondence was mailed to him explaining his coverages and requesting he contact us. On 9/8/2016 Mr. [redacted] was...
contacted by his adjuster and a statement regarding the facts of loss was obtained. An appraisal of Mr. [redacted]’s vehicle was set up and the appraisal appointment was made. The appraiser meet Mr. [redacted] at his residence on 9/12/2016 for the inspection. Mr. [redacted] pointed out that there was damage to the front bumper and the grille prior to this loss. Therefore, the appraiser did not include the prior damage in the estimate of repair for the current loss. On 9/13/2016 we received the estimate from the appraiser and a call was made to Mr. [redacted]. He provided the information for his shop of choice. A copy of the estimate was mailed to Mr. [redacted] as was a letter explaining the repairs would not include the preexisting damages to the front bumper and grille. Payment for the repairs was issued on 9/14/2016.On 9/15/2016 Mr. [redacted] called and discussed his claim with a supervisor. He offered to provide a photograph to support the preexisting damage. The photograph was received and it showed the damage to the grille was 100% preexisting. It also showed there was damage relating to the current loss. The replacement of the front bumper was added to the estimate of repair. Betterment was applied to the cost of the part due to the preexisting condition. Betterment was not applied to the cost of labor to replace the bumper cover. Once the estimate was revised to include the front bumper, a copy was forwarded to Mr. [redacted] and the repair shop. A supplemental payment was issued and mailed to the shop on 9/19/2016.In summary, there were several conversations between Mr. [redacted] and [redacted] Insurance. A payment for repairs was issued 2 days after the inspection of his vehicle. A supplement payment was issued as soon as the revised estimate was received. Betterment was applied to the new front bumper cover because it replaced the one with prior damage. The obligation is to restore a vehicle to its pre-accident condition, not a better condition. Therefore, we are not in a position to consider Mr. [redacted]’s request for reimbursement of the cost of betterment. Unfortunately, Mr. [redacted] does not have rental reimbursement on his policy. Therefore, his request for payment cannot be considered.

This was all I received on Nov 6., 2015. I do not see where my response was needed. Per attached message, I am to receive a phone call from the appropriate dept. within said business byNov. 19, 2015. That's all I saw in their response that was relevant. If action was rewired on my behalf, I have no knowledge of it. My response to the businesses response would be "ok. Thanks".
