I was told I could have gate alarms and smoke dictectors for my business when the sales person was here
It took forever for him to get me prices and when then I finally get a call to inform me that they no longer offer smoke alarms for business because of liabilityAlso they do not offer alarms for gatesOf course I wanted to switch to another company that offered the services I needBut wait its conveniently passed the grace period that I can cancel my contract and now I am locked into something that does cover my needs for yearsfast forward years and months and I had to call to have a repair doneI was looking over my account and realize they have been slowly raising my bill in small amounts over three yearsFunny how they can charge me more even with a signed contract but I cant pay them less or cancel

Purchased an alarm system with cameras in November from ADTOn June 16, 2016, another security system in place alerted us their was suspicious activity occurring at the residenceWe tried to check the ADT Camera's at the residence but kept getting kicked out of the systemAfter eight attempts we contacted ADT and was told that the server was down but they has no alarm sounding on the residenceWe told them we were aware of that but needed to view our camera's to see what was occurringThey repeated again the server was down and nothing could be doneRealizing that a crime was possibly in progress, we contacted the police ourselves and advised them of what was occurringThey responded right away and with the help of witnesses, was able to catch subjects running from the residenceAlthough entry was not gain to the residence damag

ADT provides excellent product named PulseHowever, the security devices & cameras frequently do not workThis requires hours on phone with tech support & additional hours with tech support in your home for long periods of time & repeated attempts to fix the problemsRecently, an ADT repairman told me ADT has built a product that does NOT workThat really bothered me since I have spent about $10,for ADT security devices & camerasIf I stop ADT service & select another security system, I will have to pay for new devices & camerasADT know that & do not care whether my system works correctly or notDO NOT RECOMMEND ADT

ADT and their contract - Do not sign a contract with them!
If you have, go through and make sure that you are not under anything where you will have to pay if you choose to cancel
I do not like when people or businesses try to underhand anyone! Let me state my story
I had been an ADT customer for years prior to the situation encountered in I moved in from one rental property to another and thought I was just transferring my service from that location to the new oneLittle did I know, it renewed my contract for years (this was not verbally communicated or told to me by phone or the technician who came to my home)Unfortunately, because of a situation with the new house (something out of my control) I had to move out, and where I moved - I could not carry the alarm service with meI found out because of my cancellation (this was from a charge that they tried to run through my checking account with and final bill sent) ADT had charged me $Let me say this again - I was told whenever I moved, all they had to do is transfer service to whichever location I move to free of charge
They have since then sent my information to a collection agency, in demand of paymentI promise, I will never use them again, I will see to it that no one I know ever uses them againThe power of social mediaI will cost them far more than $

I have been trying to cancel my ADT services since december 15, every time I get on the phone with a rep they transfer me to another rep than to another, its been extremely frustrating while they keep charging metwo weeks ago a manager called me but they have yet to cancel, I tried again today 3/22/17, I was still unable to cancel it

I have attempted to cancel my contract by phone, in writing, and by fax before midnight on the 3rd day of signing said contractADT refused

I called in October of to cancel service and found out I was under contract until March 31st, I set my calendar to remind me to call in February to give days notice of cancellationsI was told I could not cancel until March 31st; I would still be charged for the month because I was canceling earlyI set on my calendar to call back March to cancel and was told I have to give days notice and my account would not cancel until the end of April; and I have a past due amount of $due to non paymentI was told the last time ADT received auto pay was in September

Dealt with several "bait and switch" style sales pitchesScheduled an appointment for installing additions to current system at $xxThe first thing the tech said when he showed up was that our system wasn't compatible with what they'd scheduled him to installVERY frustrating that the person who sold me on those items wasn't aware of their non-compatibility with the system of a current customer

I would give this company zero stars if I couldThey are overpriced, they have a customer service department that does not provide good service, and their technicians are incompetent when it comes to installing and setting up equipment properly
