alarm issues and want to cancel the service, have spent over an hour on hold trying to cancel and been left on hold and disconnected numerous times
been an adt customer for almost years, alarm is original
alarm periodically has issues and the price has been raised substantially
do not have time to deal with alarms all the time when I am working, the police are getting dispatched for nothing because the alarm is malfunctioning
wanted to cancel, the company does not allow you to cancel using your online account
amazingly when they are trying to get you to stay and upgrade you can reach someone
but if you say you want to cancel you are put on hold and no one comes back, or they disconnect you
this is a scam, until you can get someone on the phone to cancel the account they can keep running up your bill, there are numerous accounts of this same action online about this company
they need to be turned into whoever in the government handles fraud or these kind of bad/decep

Misled into contract with inability to transfer service without penalty and entered into new agreement without signature
After a brein June 2015, I looked into service from ADTIn speaking with and ADT agent via phone, I expressed serious concern about signing any contract due to the fact that I rent and would be moving again in the futureI was assured that my contract would be 100% transferable to any new property & that it would be of no costmonths later I called to move services & was told that it would cost $to transferAfter speaking with a manager and explaining that was not the service I was sold, I was given a reduced move fee but still had to payNow, after months in the new apartment, I am moving yet againI called to transfer my service and was told I have to pay another transfer fee AND sign a new year contract which I am unwilling to do considering I only have months left on my original contractUnbeknownst to me, I was reentered into a new
ADT was not up front with other fees.Asked the installer several times if there were other fees and was told there was not.Called ADT and was told "You should have read your contract".I don't know anyone who reads the fine print in a contract.Rep says "sign here" you trust him and sign.Big mistake.Not a good way to do business.Be truthful in representing your product and fees
Protection aka ADT had me sign a contract for years even though the sales representative checked and confirmed that the maximum in CA is a year contract which is what we discussed I'm foolish to have not checked the contract sent to me through an e-signature program, but it was a very hectic time due to my move and I messed up This was years ago and now that I want to switch out of them for poor quality equipment and lackluster customer service, I found out that I would have to pay $700+ to get out of the contract I absolutely hate this company

I had Adt put a pulse system in my home in October I had some extra's added with the basic package ,a second motion detector window contacts etcHave had no problems till I decided to add video surveillance cameras I contacted the sales department inquiring the cost and monthly monitoring fees The representative quoted me to have the camera's installed and that my bill would increase dollars which I agreed toI set up a appointment to have the technician installI could not have been happier being that I can look at the cameras remotely since this is a second home and not my primary residenceWhen the tech left I signed a document with the breakdown of what he had done well it wasntWARNING after I signed thinking it was just adding cameras that I paid for it I signed a Year contractMy problem is when I called to inquire and ordered the camera's the representative never brought to my attention that I would have to sign a new contract.I spoke with Adt about this matter they pulled the phone records and once again the representative never mentioned a new contractand Now after endless phone calls they refuse to do anything but get me months monitoringIf I had have known that I was signing a new contract I would have had they put me a complete new system with camera's at half the price

I was told I could have gate alarms and smoke dictectors for my business when the sales person was here
It took forever for him to get me prices and when then I finally get a call to inform me that they no longer offer smoke alarms for business because of liabilityAlso they do not offer alarms for gatesOf course I wanted to switch to another company that offered the services I needBut wait its conveniently passed the grace period that I can cancel my contract and now I am locked into something that does cover my needs for yearsfast forward years and months and I had to call to have a repair doneI was looking over my account and realize they have been slowly raising my bill in small amounts over three yearsFunny how they can charge me more even with a signed contract but I cant pay them less or cancel
After I had moved to another state (1/years) I cancelled ADT I explained the reason to the rep and was very open about not living in FL any longer I was told there was nothing else I had to do I was not asked for my current address The people living in the house in FL called me in mid July that I had received some billing from ADT and they would mail it to me I also received a message from ADT but did not want to call until I had received the mailings Upon reaching ADT I was told by the rep that my account had already been sent out to a collection agency In years I have never had anyone send something on me to an agency ADT would only say that this is their policy and they refused to even talk with me any further The would not acknowledge that they had done any wrong doing by not asking for my address Isn't it logical that upon cancelling I should have been told that there would be a fee as well as getting my correct address so it could be mailed to me? I have a lot more to say but I am too upset by their actions to get into this any more Do I have any recourse and is this something that should be taken to a higher power so to speak?
My father was visiting from out of town His alarm went off at 3am ADT called him and stated they would contact the local county sheriff's dept to check out the place The representative stated they will call him back and let him know if everything is alright I thought that was what the commercial said "Peace of Mind." Three hours later, no call no confirmation if there was a problem Finally my dad called, representative told him if he doesn't get a call back, all is good He wanted the phone number for the sheriff's department because he felt like no one calling him back is a bad sign They refused to give him the phone number for the local county sheriff's department Had he received a call stating the police went out and found nothing, he would have been fineHe asked to speak to a manager just to explain if the alarm goes off, he expects a call with a status good or bad The manager started interrupting him talking over him and stated that if they don't call back then nothing happened I got on the phone and stated I was his daughter she started talking loudly over meI told her to let me just say one sentence She kept talking and not listening to my statement I finally told her to pass *** word to upper management that it would have been nice to get a good confirmation Just like when they get their check for services, they want to make sure the money is cleared We expect the same respect and courtesy I looked up the phone number for the county sheriff and hey were able to confirm they checked out the place and there was no disturbanceWhich ended well, but we had to confirm that ourselvesADT didn't seem to care we just needed to know after three hours
ADT IS OVERCHARGING ME FOR ALARM MONITORING SERVICES THAT WERE CANCELLEDTHEY ARE HARASSING ME BY TELEPHONE FOR PAYMENT
I DISCONTINUED MY SERVICE WITH ADT ALARM MONITORING SERVICES EFFECTIVE MAY 9, AT THAT TIME I WAS INFORMED THAT ADT CHARGES DAYS PAST THE DATE OF CANCELLATION I TOLD THEM THAT I NEVER AGREED TO THAT AND I WOULD NOT HAVE PURCHASED SERVICE WITH THEM IF I KNEW THAT THAT WAS THEIR POLICY I HAVE REQUESTED FROM ADT ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS THAT THEY SEND ME A HARD COPY OF ANY AGREEMENT THAT I MAY HAVE SIGNED TO THAT EFFECT ANY I WOULD GLADLY PAY THE REQUESTED BALANCE OF $ I HAVE BEEN REPEATEDLY HARASSED BY TELEPHONE FOR THIS AMOUNT, BUT I HAVE NEVER RECEIVED ANY DOCUMENT FROM THEM INDICATING MY AGREEMENT OF PAYING FOR ONE MONTH OF SERVICE THAT I NEVER RECEIVED THE LAST CALL CAME AT 8AM ON SATURDAY, JULY 2, I DON'T BELIEVE IT IS ETHICAL TO CHARGE CUSTOMERS FOR SERVICES WHICH THEY DON'T RECEIVEMY ACCOUNT NUMBER IS XXXXXXX THE SERVICE WAS PURCHA
ADT will not fix my security system in a timely mannerSo far they have cancelled one appointment and set another a week from my call for repair

I was quoted a price over the phone and they charged me double the amount they quoted They also did not notify me they will be charging me months once we activate our account
ADT will not honor a contract made with a sales rep who no longer works with the company that we purchased years ago
We purchased a home alarm system which included the installation of the alarm devices plus years of monitoring service, for which we paid the total up front The contract included a "move clause" which our sales rep said we were gaurenteed to move for no additional cost and the existing system sensors would be installed in our new house plus we could use our existing year pre-paid contract at the new house We knew we were moving so we agreed to pay up front The move clause is promised in writing by the sales rep via email when he sent our contract The contract was signed March so we still have a year and a half left to go
The move clause was written as eligible until We are now moving and ADT will not honor the contract We have called them times to discuss and have received little to no explanation or assistanceWe have been hung up
ADT SECURITY ARE THE ACTUAL ROBBERS just becos they're everywhere doesn't mean they are legit
first off, the marketing group quoted me a price for all windows and doors on my first floor but when they came to the hosue, it only covered windows and there were several additional windows and a second door all which tripled the original quoted priceNext , they raised the monitoring monthly fee twice in months from the original policyi had signed a year contract and then was transfered for my job so wanted to cancel the remaining contractthey insisted I pay for the next months even though service was endedi had paid for all installation fees, all uquipment fees and new account fees in full at beginning so only had the monitoring feeThey insist I pay the monitoring fee for another months with the service endedthere is no loss to them since I paid everything up front for servise set up, equipment and installationmonths of now service is rediculoushow about a omonth penalty fee for closing contract early but months is simply a rip offthey were rude on the phone when I asked them to compromisei will never do service with them againi have been a landlord for years and have had tenants who needed to leave before their contract was up - due to life circumstancesi simply asked them to pay month rent to give me time to find another tenanati would never had told them to pay me for the remaining months or what ever was left on their year lease even though they had vacated the premisesADT is not customer focused in doing this
