I have not been happy with ADT from the beginning as they failed to come out on three occasions for a dead battery which was never replaced on installation
This practice is fooling customers in order to sign contracts for extended periods they do not needI would never use ADT for my new property as they were so bad in the old oneIn fact I would have cancelled the contract immediately due to the very poor customer serviceThis latest move sums up how the company views their customers as a way to make money and nothing else
After I cancelled the ADT Service, I was sent a cancellation bill for $(approximately years future service)
I received a bill for $from ADTApparently this invoice was subsequently charged to me when the pinging noise in the ADT Wall mount suddenly became activated and I called ADT to stop this noiseYou should be aware of the following items;
I have not had ADT Service for about /years as the original home builder apparently had this service installed when the house was built in I never subscribed for ADT service when the Home Builder's contract expired

I lived at *** *** *** *** *** ** XXXXX for approximately years ADT provided security for me during that time I sold my house in January I have called ADT many times to cancel my account with them = at the end of December; two times in January; two times in February; and one time in March Then I gave up They simply will not CANCEL MY ACCOUNT I moved permanently to *** *** *** in February I have visited with my bank, *** *** and explained the situation, both in *** ** and *** *** They indicated that this is an ongoing problem with ADT for many of their customers They removed the automatic monthly deduction for ADT from my bank account ADT continues to charge me Please help The following information was included on the post card I recently received: ***

After deactivating the security system at one address and establishing services at my new address, I have continued to be billed for both addresses over the past months Though I have been told I would receive a refund on my credit card, this has not happened I have requested to be released from my remaining contract and am waiting to hear back Though the individuals I have spoken with (about total) have been pleasant, I am dissatisfied with the unnecessary time and money lost, as well as the lack of resolution thus far
Absolutely worst company I have ever dealt withI am sales manager at a very large Ford dealership and if I were to ever treat a customer like this, it would have been my last dayAt first I called into ADT to get pricing over the phoneThey tell me that the monthly ranges from $27-$depending on which package I selectI asked which package covers what and they said that my technician would go over all of that when we set an appointmentI didn't want an appointment to tell me what covers what, I wanted pricing over the phoneHe was continued to say "that is how you will get the information, with an appointment." The salesman was great on the phone, so I trusted everything he saidI am very empathetic to any type of salesHe then said I need your last four of your social and date of birth for a credit pullI said I do not want you to pull my credit, I haven't even said I am going to buy anything yetHe then said we send people to the most dangerous parts of the country and we need to know their identityI knew for a fact that was complete garbageThey just want to see if my credit is good enough for their payment process etcI let them pull my credit, just because I figured ADT must be this amazing company and I would end up going with them in the endThe Technician showed up right on time and was very niceI could tell he was newer, but I don't hold that against himI am only concerned on how his company trains and what their process is at the saleSo after about 2-minutes of talking to him I asked for the pricing, I thought that was the whole point of the appointmentHe said he had to set up a few things and get some signals and then he would go over all of thatAfter an hour and forty-five minutes he comes and grabs me off of my couch to go over everythingAt that point I noticed he had taken my current security panel off of the wall and installed his ADT panelThought that was a little weird, kind of assuming the sale or maybe there was a presentation coming along with itSo after telling me all about their product he turns over his paperHit me for a $bill for all of their equipment, which I already had and the other company didn't charge me for anythingThis turned me off pretty quick because the salesman on the phone a few days ago never said anything about having to pay for the equipment just a monthly payment for the service I selectedFast forward two hours, the technician has been here for a total of four hours nowI talked to his field manager as well as his sales manager that is up north somewhereThe sales manager kept throwing free stuff in to try to get me to do itIf he would have just been up front with me from the start I would have laid down and started their service that dayAfter telling them no 3-times the sales manager finally let him pack up his stuff and replace my stuff back to how I had it at the beginningRight before he left I went and told him that my current security display is showing an error on the screen for powerHe just said because it has been disconnected for 3-hours it will need to chargeI said okay what if the error message doesn't go away? He said that I would need to call my current security provider to come out and fix itAt this point I was just done with ADTI came home from dinner with my family and my security system is now not working at allThis morning I called the customer service department and told them my storyTheir response was the same call your current provider and tell them to fix itNot only do I get just one day off a week to spend time with my family, but now I have to wait for my current provider to fix ADTs problemsThis is ridiculousI then asked him to remove the credit inquiry from my credit because I felt like I was slightly misled on their sales process as well as the credit pullHe said that it will most likely not be taken off unless he never told me that he was going to pull the creditLike I stated before I am in sales, and have been for a long timeOur business lives off repeat and referralsI will never recommend this company to anyone
I would give stars if that was an option hereWe have been with ADT for several yearsA few days ago I arrived home to an alarm eventAll doors were secured and nobody in the homeI called ADT and was being up-sold to a newer systemI was told ADT is the best and that we should upgradeAfter the sales pitch I was told that my system was offline for past few weeksDoes ADT not understand what home security is all about? The sales representative misinformed me about the monthly in connection with the land phone line and I ended up with $instead of $for monthly monitoring

I got overcharged for system transfer in between homes and being the event happe**d on a Saturday and after I called they said they couldn't help
after being in contract with adt I called to transfer services and system from o** home to the other after speaking to the agent about different sensors and how many doors and windows I have I was charged dollars to hold the order and on the date of installation I would be charged dollars I was ok with it got conformation and went along my old system was cancelled and a week later I was charged 530.42dollars for cancellation fees and a overdraft by my bank of dollars I called them and my dollars was refunded and I said what about my overdraft fee that u guys cost me , well ma'am we cant handle that but u can either call, fax, mail, email a copy of your bank statement to the address the provided me and I did mail it in certified mail and got proof they received it here we are week later no response of any sort

We contacted ADT Security Services to have a sale representative come to our home and tell us they type of security system they recommend and give us a priceThey gave us an appointment in December but called us from Gainsville FLone hour before our appointment time to tell us that they had double-booked their appointments and would not be able to comeI was upset for later notification, contacted their management team and received another appointment date and time in January At the appointed time, the sales rep did not show upI called minutes after the appointment time; the rep said that he was caught in traffic but was on his wayI asked him what his location was and from what he said, we figured that it would have been another 40, minutes before he could have arrived at our homeWe told him not to bother coming, When I contacted his office and complained about their unprofessional business practice in terms of keeping appointments and being on time, I found out that he told his office that he called us to confirm the appointment when he was on his way, but we told him not to come.I think that when he returned to his office they checked his cell phone for incoming and outgoing calls and figured out that he had lied because a few hour later I received a a call from a regional manager apologizing and asking for another chance to come out to our homeWe decided to do business with another firm because we think that we cannot trust our security to a company which lacks business discipline and employs dishonest people
Charged to replace faulty equipment, then given the run around, and then unauthorized funds taken from our credit card
When we moved, a tech came, and installed a couple of motion sensors, a cell box, and a couple of wireless window contactsHe left a cable sticking out of the family room wall, and said that they keypads (installed when the house was built in 2001) "would do"
We have not been able to properly arm or disarm that system with those keypads, as the contacts appeared to be worn, and pressing the numbers never really made contact, so the alarm would go offSo, we did not arm itIt has been so bad, I have become agoraphobic because I do not want to leave my animals in an unprotected home
I contacted ADT before I was due to have major eye surgery, and asked if they could change the faulty keypads with something with a slightly bigger screen, because I was blind in my right eye, and the keypads have never really worked

Poor sales practices, customer service, and faulty equipment
My issues began with the first sales person I worked with and I should have known then to not trust Protection OneThe sales manager and his trainee were unprofessional and out of line, starting discussions about how much money I'd lose if I tried to sell my houseThey even complained to me after my purchase because they didn't make enough commission on my sale, admitting their commission check was only $after taxesThe installer was at my home for hours and left with it not completed because he couldn't figure out why the testing was failingHe left with it not working and I had to wait on another installer to finish the jobImmediately I had issues with alarms and the system and sensors not workingAnother technician was sent out who switched my sensor from the nicer camera sensor to their standard motion sensor (so a downgrade in equipment) claiming that would solve the problemThis was one year ago
The contract period for ADT was 1/26/thru January 2013, per ADT service representative I entered a contract with CPI on 10/13/ There were several subsequent verbal acknowledgements that my monitoring services were being handled by *** However, ADT continued to debit my account for monitoring services until notified by letter of my desire to be reimbursed for these erroneous charges ADT responded that my letter would serve as the cancellation notice, but no monies would be refunded I contend that for nearly years, ADT was charging me for a service that they were not providing The occasions that called for security response were answered by *** not ADT The facts are indisputable and I view ADT's response as unacceptable The total unearned charges amount to approximately $and I would like to be reimbursed

ADT provides horrible service I moved on October and cancelled my ADT service I waited for the company to prorate my billOnce I received the adjusted bill, it was paid The ADT past due billing department has been calling me everyday twice a day, since November The past due billing department uses an auto dialer and the rep says they cannot update my account Each time the past due rep transfers me over to the accounts department and each time my account is verified paid in full At that step, I am promised that my records are updated and the calls will cease The calls still continue and have not stopped ADT calls me everyday, sometimes twice a day Today, instead of having the rep transfer me to billing, I hung up and called the number myself The account rep verified that my account has been paid and was closed on October 3rd She also said that the past due department is calling me to collect payment for 2018! My account has been canceled since October This has now become harassment and I feel like they are trying to harass me to a point that I will pay them to go away

ADT would not dispatch when our alarm system went off
On 11/28/at approx 3:30pm ADT rcvd a signal that our alarm system was going offThey called the owner of the company to reportThey told him they could not call because we did not have an alarm permit on file so the sheriff would not dispatchMy boss drove the hour to the office and discovered it was a alarmWe DO have an alarm permitI called the sheriff dept and they said they did NOT rcv a call from ADT and that no matter what, they WOULD always respond to an alarm call - permit or notWhen I relayed this to ADT they then said they could not call because I had not sent ADT my alarm permit I have read my contract over and nowhere does it say to send them my permitI had no idea I was suppose to send them the permit...our business could have been cleaned out by the time my boss got there
