ADT has rendered my equipment that I bought outside of the contract no longer usable, the list includes garage door openers,thermostats, cameras
I purchased equipment outside of my ADT contract for equipment compatible with ADT's Pulse system,
I spent over $dollars between the two garage door openers($ea, $total) two thermostats($ea, $total) four indoor cameras($ea, $total) one outdoor camera($125) and one nightstand tablet($200)
I have discontinued their service due to the high cost of the system and their insistence on billing on three month increments instead of standard monthly billing

Cancelled my account back in Jan / Feb, company told me that there would be a day wait and a $charge to close account.Agreed to this and thought this was done.New bill today 4/13/ and account is still open
First year into contract I received to calls from adt collection department.Paid one year in advance and somehow the payment wasn't ever showing up on the corporate side.Months and months of harassment and in the end ADT said they were at fault for harassing me.Stuck out the contract and cancelled.ADT at this point says account is still active

Customer service is terrible Service techs arrive without their own ladders and have to use yours The Office of Executive Customer Relations, particularly *** *** doesn't return emails or phone calls If you're a customer, switch If you're not a customer, don't become one You're just a number to them

We had a burglary on January 12th our alarm system didnt go off,dispatched tech which said "sorry just didnt go off this one time"
I believe the purpose of a company like ADT would be for lock and security, I received none on January 12th at 4:AM where our store had a burglary, they went threw two motion sensorsNO ALARM WENT OFFthey destroyed our computer, register, printer, small electronics, and made a mess of thingsI tried calling corporate about this issue and they said "sorry we will dispatch a tech to look at the unit"The tech finally came out to the location and tested the unit and said "there is nothing wrong with the unit, all tests passed" so I responded by saying "why didn't the alarm go off?" he responded "sorry bro, it just didn't work this one time"outrageous a security company didn't have there product functional "this one time"I called there corporate office a couple of days later to cancel my account, I don't need a service that works someti

im relocating my job and customer service agent is stating that i'm still responsible for a contract when services isn't available in my area
I been a customer with adt since I have recently got a promotion so my job is relocating and I called to see what I need to do to cancel the account due to services isn't available where im moving to all the agents where very rude so I asked for a manager from relocation department her name was Raquel customer service number XXXXXX she came on the line and never even verified who I was so I asked her why is a customer responsible for a etf when the services isnt avaible where the customer is moving, I proceeded to ask her how much will it be she told me and stated that I would have to speak with the billing department on the bill to see if they can work out anything and she placed me on hold again n asked me to verifiy my password that went on for mins I said ma'am I know my password is right come to find out she called me anothe

This is the worst service you can ever find! Do not getmonths contract of over paying useless equipmentThis people lied to us non stop they took days to install the equipment and when they finally didIt was the wrong onecustomer service just gives you the run around un til the third day which is the end of the trial period( not seven like they repeatedly told us) just so they can lock u in and then charge extra for outdoor cameras, which is for what I sign up in first placeYou will save so much jut by buying some nest camerasThey have sooo many features, record longer( adt only records seconds of footage) and their monthly plans are $per camera a month! Trust me we called millions of times to get our situation resoveld and they gave us lies after lies, and "escalated" our call to the manager and no body called backScammers is what they areDont fall for itPlease!

We moved into a new house with old ADT system, I then got a letter from ADT saying I can reactivate the service for $When I called them, everything changed, they told me the system was outdated since it is based on a landlineAnd they tried to push me for changing a new panel ($900) with a premium monthly fee of $I then found a DSC GGSM modulus based on cellular at home??! adt sent me a bill for in jani paid it I thought that was high so I called them they said they will lower it to only thing I got is door alarms that leaves theysuppose to give back to me they refuse to I called them wrote letters to them they said they will not send it back to me my account nois XXXXXXXX they said why they raise it because it was in my contact that's a bunch of bull I got this service in and it don't say a dam thing about that

I had ADT for several years in my home and movedThe new house I moved into already had ADT equipment installed in the house and the previous owners were utilizing ADTI tried to have the service moved over from their name to ours, but ADT told us the equipment was outdated and needed to be replacedThe was a cost of roughly $2,Because we wanted the protection and had been longtime customer of ADT we paid it in several installments
It turns out that it was NOT ADT at all, but one of their contractors who ADT has partnered withIt was a total lie and scam that we needed all new equipment and we could have proceeded with the old equipment
ADT acknowledged this vendor/partner of theirs is less than honest when I called, however, they still partner with them and were not willing to assist me when I called
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, THEY ARE DISHONEST! The only reason they have an A+ rating is because they respond to their complaints in a timely manner, in order to gt the broader picture look at the number of negative complaints (currently 235) vspositive and neutral reviews (14)

I am a veteran who served in the Army for yearsI recently moved to Enid years ago, bought a house, and used ADT with $installation, $monthlyI signed a year contractI had to move to another home after months into the contract, and asked ADT to suspend the account until we moved to the next homeADT told me to leave the equipment at the old house(which I thought was weird)I called back for installation of ADT in my new homeADT said that I must sign a new contract for the new home w/ new installation fees and higher monthly charges(approx $installation, and $monthly)I negotiated a deal with "***" (Sales Rep), for $installation, $monthly*** said she'll call me back to confirm the deal w/ her supervisorShe never calledI called back after waiting a week, ADT said they never offered any deal we discussed earlierThen days later, ADT terminated my contract charging me $dollars without my authorizationI read reviewed my old contract, and it did not have any clause that mentions about when you move to another homeADT will just terminate your contract or force you into another year contractWhat really upset me was that ADT asked to leave my equipment at the old home (WHICH I PAID FOR and SIGNED A YEAR CONTRACT), and they backed out on the new offer, then they terminated my contract, charged me $I essentially paid for the equipment for ADT to sell their business to the new homeownerI believe this is very unethical business practice, not offering moving clauses to consumers, when these type of cases happen often especially for veteransEven cable companies understand that people have to move and the equipment has to go with them as wellVery disappointed

About a month or so ago, a technician came to my home check to see what was going on with the system First he told me that I needed to pay him at the spot $in order to proceed with his job The number of months I have been with ADT and have had technicians come to the house to fix issues I have never been told that I had to pay directly to the technician nor a bill will be sent to me While I asked him if he could bare with me to speak with a ADT representative for clarification, he was rude, very impolite and while my one year old son following me and was by the door; the technician open the door and hit my son on his face and while I defended my son he also hit my unborn child At the time I was months pregnant After he did what he did he got in to his vehicle and stormed off I immediately called to ADT to file a complaint against the technician My system is still not fixed and I am stuck because it does not work properly and I am really frustrated with everything I have gone through with ADT since the first month All I want ADT to do is break my contract and let me go for good but for one reason or another they are being so ignorant and finding excuses why I cannot get out of the contract Hopefully in this review/compliant ADT will be able to help me out to break my contract
If anyone is reading this, please do not go to ADT; customer service is horrible and also their technicians Please reconsider and do research before signing a contract

We just had an amazing experience with ADTWe've been customers for years with no problemsOn Saturday our system just froze, no beeps...nothing Called on Sunday to get technical help The ADT rep on the phone had us try a couple of things to no avail We were able to set up an appointment for the next morningGiven an 8-12:window Ernie called around 8:and arrived in minutesHe was polite, knowledgeable, checked everything (including all door and window connections) and determined that our circuit board was goneWith new board we needed an updated keypad The rep from the Sunday phone call had made a note that we were long-time customers Unlike our cell phone/satellite company, ADT takes very good care of loyal customers and Ernie was able to give us a great deal on the service call and equipment They certainly earned our continued loyaltyErnie was fabulous and we so appreciate his help and ADTs great service

Excessive fees related to moving and canceling contact
I have been a customer with ADT for over three yearsI had a system in my Allison Avehome back in and then transferred that system in to my new home on Thornton aveWithout thinking about the contract (I thought was a transfer, not a restart of my services) moved forward with putting the equipment in the new home as I was informed upon asking if I could just move my old equipment that it was "better" to just put new ones inNow that I have moved and was looking to cancel my contract I called only to find out I owe to finish out my year contractWhen I asked how if I started my services in that I still have such an excessive amount left they explained that my contract was restartedI feel this company has snuck it's way into locking my family up to a monthly fee that they have control of and now after moving my options are to get new equipment for the 3rd time and pay to restart another contract

we have a maintenance contract on camera system that when I had a problem with was told twice that if a tech came out I would be charged for serviceWant to get out of contract and they refuseI do not see any value in a contract if they charging me to repair itI removed the system of ADT and replace with one of my own in December

If you can avoid using ADT I recommend that you doAlthough their actual monitoring service is great, their customer service is terribleMy monitoring is out through their faulty equipment and they can not find an appointment for more than weeksSo no cameras etc, just waiting for some event to happen that can not be documented while they rush to see new customersI have been an ADT customer for at least 8years and while I wait weeks for my repair and then a hour service window; I will screen other alarm companies that have better service windows, and actually accommodate loyal customers

I would not recommend ADT to anyone! When I was quoted and given a price it was 100% just a baseline priceWhen the technician came out he for sure works off commission because he tried to get me to "secure" my "entire" house for over $4,I am a single mother working two jobs I am not giving you all 4kThe $promotional price is for the system to get hooked up to a LANDLINE! If you want the system hooked up without using a landline that is an extra $a month! The tablet that now comes standard with most home security systems they wanted to charge me $The app that you can manage the security system from your phone was also an extra $or so dollars a month with TWC it's free!When I tried to cancel it was the most frustrating and ridiculous processI had to end up calling FIVE times to try to get an email sent to me so I could cancelWhich by the fifth call the representative just said I needed to write a letter and either mail or fax(no email who still uses mail or fax??!!!!) to cancel the service when the previous four reps could have told me thatI was told I would only get charged the prorated amount for the current month and next month's bill they charged me double that!!! DO NOT GET ADT!!!
