I wish I could not give any stars My troubles started with a man coming to my house telling me he was a representative with my security system company Vivin He told me that he was updating my service but it turns out he was from ADT and changed my system over to their company from my existing company Vivint I never had any problems with Vivint but since ADT took over my system has not worked I called to cancel several months ago and they told my my contract went until the end of this year I just called again to cancel at the time the last representative said my contract ended and what do you know my contract doesn't end now until and that it would cost $to cancel I figured I would bite the bullet because I would end up paying a lot more than that in fees to ADT over that time frame I was transferred to a representative to cancel She told me it could cost me $to cancelThis is absolutely ridiculous The most dishonest and misleading company The minimum you expect from a security company is trustworthiness
I have received poor customer service and refusal of refund
On 11/4/I called ADT to cancel service and asked for my auto draft to be canceledThe specialist I spoke with advised she has submitted the request for services to be canceled and then transferred me over to the cancelation department where I spoke with a gentlemen who provided me with a good deal to stayI agreed to stay with the company and to the terms because it was a price reduction and I didn't have to renew my contract However, I didn't reactivate my auto draftOn 11/10/ADT drafted out of my account $and on 11/28/in the amount of $I called their customer service once again and asked why they were still drafting from my accountThe young lady said that the auto draft didn't have an end date and that she would put it for todayI confirmed that ADT will no longer draft from my account and that I would call on December 10th which is when my payment is due to make a paymentOn 12/8/ADT draft
Called to cancel serviceTechnician was extremely rude and would not allow me to speak to anyone elseWas unable to cancel
During a minute phone call to ADT to cancel service, the customer service technician insulted me several times all the while trying to stall and retain me as a customerHe told me his name was Joseph ***, however, he refused to provide his employee number and would not transfer me to a manager
Mr*** insisted that we have a year contract with ADT but refused to provide proof when I countered that we were month to monthHe kept stalling with supposed computer difficulties and would not send our contract via emailHe insulted me several times saying things like, "If you didn't read, then that's your problem" "I see here that you've had a problem with not wanting to pay for services before." and "Maybe I'm just telling you things you don't want to hear." I don't know what he was talking about regarding us not paying for services as our acc

after cancelling initial install, was contacted by the company, and they said there was a misunderstanding and could they re-schedule they re-quoted a price and we rescheduled, again, the technician arrived and we were told that there was an "UPcharge" Even talked to the manager and he said the people that quoted the price and scheduled the install didn't know what they were doing
This amounts to a BAIT & SWITCH practice as no one ever mentioned a limit on the number of "opening" in a single story house Based on the Techand the Manager's conversation, we should have only doors (front, back and Garage) and windows

A horrible, no good, useless experience with an alleged "home security" company Defenders, Incis ADT's "Premier Provider" in my area It did a horrible and defective initial installation, which not only failed to work but rendered my wife's office useless by unplugging our lamps and power strips and clogging up the outlets, and then failed/refused to send anyone to fix it for almost two weeks The new crew was revolted by how bad the initial installation was and corrected some of the more egregious problems, but the corrected installation still failed to function properly Defenders can't/won't send a repair crew to fix the second installation for another ten days Their agents promise to call a "security manager" to seek a higher priority, but nothing ever happens I have been civil with their agents, but one was surly with me when I protested the ten day wait for yet another repair, falsely saying he hadn't said ten days and promising to "call the security manager" and get back with me He didn't get back with me ADT is apologetic but says the problem is out of its hands for the first days Don't deal with either company!

I dispute charges billed to me in December 2016, January, February and March after I had cancelled ADT services in November Apparently, ADT has no record of any my phone calls about cancelling this recurring service, which I find to be rather odd Regardless, I am disputing the charges billed me for those months and I request a refund of those charges for all monthsIn addition to cancelling the service for my former residence - *** *** *** *** *** *** ** XXXXX I moved from ** to ** on December 4, I am also advising that in one of my phone calls I also cancelled installation of ADT in my new location in *** as apparently you have no record of that phone call either

In June of I discovered that ADT had been billing my *** card in the amount of $per month for a home previously sold/cancelledThe charge had taken place for close years (property sold in November 2015)
I reached out to ADT who confirmed by phone repeatedly that I would receive a refund for the errorThe refund in the amount of $1,was promised by phone, on numerous occasions by supervisors/managersI received a credit on my *** card in the amount of $leaving a balance of roughly $1,still due
After calls to ADT every month resulted in continued commitments that the credit was "in the mail" I am now getting the run around and transferred from one extension to another ultimately ending up with the calls being droppedThe billing error was identified and confirmed yet the refund still not processed months later?
Like so many others on here I am here to tell you of the pushy sales tactics, appalling service and even worse equipment and installation practices, and overall complete lack of customer service
1) When I moved into the house I had just purchased the previous security provider no longer existed, having been an ADT customer in the previous house I opted to give them a chance
2) had to endure numerous pushy, unethical, and down right rude sales representatives just to get a system set up
3) was made to pay a ridiculous amount of money for the equipment that "had to be installed for my family's safety"
4) the installer butchered the walls in my home to install the equipment and then evaporated as quickly as he came, more infuriatingly, he did not install the battery baleading to an always beeping, forever un-reliable system
5) Contacted ADT rep to have the installation issues rectified and, you guessed it, nothing ever happened
6)Sold the home, called to cancel the service, has taken over a month to do so and have yet to receive a straight answer from ADT on what is required Was told nothing was owed and account was closed on my first call only to find they continued to debit my accountThen told I owed over $for a contract, then told $700, then told $800, then told nothing owed and on and on and on and on
I have been run around so many times with this company over what should be a simple account closure that I should have worn through a Nike company portfolio of shoes and still never received two matching answers
I AM BEGGING YOU ALL, NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!!!! PLEASE LOOK AT THESE REVIEWS AND TELL ALL YOUR FRIENDS, NEIGHBORS, PEOPLE YOU PASS ** THE STREET SAVE YOURSELVES AND ANYONE YOU KNOW FROM THIS STRESS AND CHAOS!

I am writing to express my extreme satisfaction with my ADT services
History: I went under contract in November to secure my home(Encl #1)
At the time of installation, a service man came into my home and after asking where I wanted my security panel, he commenced drilling a hole in to my wall
After the installation he told me that my service would cost 50+ dollars per month and my initial charge would be 120+ dollars I said, no, my service was to be per the advertisement He said that his ticket was to install the premium service He told me that I should take it up with corporate to resolve any issues
The first bill I received was for over $I paid it and filed a complaint ADT told me that since it was a "Defender" company that I would have to take up all issues with Defender, I called Defender and they told me that ADT would have to handle the issue and was abruptly disconnected I called Defender back and was hung up on again I called ADT and was informed that because my contract was less than months old, I would have to handle all issues though Defender I called Defender and was abruptly disconnected after being placed on hold for over minutes
My next bill was for $dollars I called to complain about the billing and was informed that to get the charge I would need a dedicated phone line I called ATT and had a dedicated phone line installed Defender came out again to reinstall the correct service The serviceman removed the panel in my wall and left the four-inch hole The installer said that if he were to repair the hole that I would not like the results Obviously, I was not thrilled with the hole either I have since patched the hole, picture attached (Encl #2)
The service man connected the wires from the ADT Panel and the phone jack He left the wiring in such a state that it looked like a 3rd grader performed the service(Encl #3) To the installer's credit, he said that it was a couple years since he installed a dedicated phone line
I am now beyond livid The service has been VERY POORThe quality of workmanship is greatly lacking I want the service removed and contract cancelled
I called ADT and they told me that, because it was less than two months that I would have to handle all complaints through Defender Defender told me that only ADT can cancel a contract (This went on for four phone calls) After a week of this run around, Defender told me that now that I have had the service for over two months, I cannot cancel without paying the full contract, over $
I have NEVER HAD SUCH POOR SERVICE and I cannot evaluate the product due the limited time on line
To resolve this issue: refund my initial down payment and remove all products from my home
There is nothing that can be accomplished with ADT or Defender that I feel confident to allow this product in my home

I contacted ADT Services to receive a quote to install a security system for my houseThe scheduled time was at amI waited until 9:am and still no ADT, therefore, I called them and asked if they had someone on their way and if they were just running lateThe customer service agent said that the technician should be there shortly, but will call him and confirm that he is running lateThe agent also said that she would call me back ASAP to let me know if he was running lateNo technician, no phone call, no serviceDefinitely do not trust ADT to be running a security system in my house if they cannot be on time with an estimate, let alone an actual security call
We canceled our ADT service within in the day window and days later ADT charged another $unauthorized!
On 7/9/we canceled our ADT contract within the day trial window via email and faxI informed them they are no longer allowed to charge my debit card for anything and wanted to know when we would relieve our refundOn 7/11//I got my confirmation email that our service was canceledAND that same day they decided to charge $This payment was NOT authorizedAnd we were informed we will get a 100% refund for the $monthly and $payment for equipment, we were on a payment plan, of payments over the course of monthsThe next payment was not supposed to pull until August in the amount of $The day our cancelation was confirmed ADT illegally charged my card for the $I have been trying to give all the equipment back since 7/9/and was told someone would be contacting meI just had to call ADT again to get the equipment picked up
ADT Security Systems never completed the installation process, refused to complete it for free, and so many alarms, I was billed by police

I am a resident at ** *** *** *** *** XXXXX I requested ADT (your company) to install the security system to my house which was installed on 7/10/I was charged $ for installation which I paid It was brought to my attention by my spouse when he was reviewing the contract that ADT collected that money although promised free installationI signed a contract for the term of years which was completed on 7/9/After completion of contract I renewed services year by year with pre-payment plan The last few years I noticed our charges were getting higher and higher compared to ADT own advertised price and the competitorWe contacted in the past regarding this, but ADT shut us down with an excuse that the rate was only for the new customers My husband with my permission contacted ADT for discount rate and when ADT refused, he tried to cancel ADT service in January 2015, but ADT representative

I have been a loyal customer of ADT for over years I have been paying quarterly services for a long time and the service hasn't been working properly This morning, I called again to report the problem and I was informed that I needed to upgrade system
The rep told me that there was a promotion to upgrade the system and the all the old equipment will be replace for the whole house including smoke detectors The rep didn't explain to me how the new system will be install and work with the new upgrade system I just finished renovated my house and I don't any damage to my new wallsFurthermore, there was a mistake in the order due to rep only wrote one smoke detector and one sensor
I called the headquarters and I spoke with another rep-lady in order to try to explain the problem and try to work with me but she was rude, didn't wat to work with me or grant me a discount for the smoke detectors I can't pay per smoke detector after paying service for over twenty years It is very unfair and bad business practice
My house always been protected with ADT for so many years; now I don't feel that ADT cares a bout my well being and satisfaction as a loyal customer
