I have been trying to cancel my ADT subscription but ADT neglected to respond until I quit paying the monthly bill
I first emailed ADT in October 6, that I wanted to cancel my plan with them after I received a letter saying they were raising my rates I got no response and I continued to pay the bills In September I started emailing to cancel the account again I also had an ADT person come to my home and show me how to power down the system I told him I wanted it canceled also I made multiple calls to the number I was given, also requesting cancelation, and repeatedly was disconnected No one ever told, mailed, or emailed me that I had to sign a specific form Still getting no response, I quit paying the monthly bill Finally I got a call saying I had to sign a specific form, which they mailed me I signed, stating I've been trying to cancel for months (really years!) but they continued to bill me Now they're saying they've finally cancelled my account b

ADT billed for me services that they did not provide
In October 2015, I called to cancel service I was convinced to stay with the company after being offerred a lower rate and a free re-installation after a remodeling where the keypad had been located They scheduled me for re-installation on November 2nd, 2015, but I called the installer stating that I needed to reschedule because the repairs were not completed on time He said that he would call back in two weeks, but never did I called the number that he gave me three different times over the course of a few weeks, but he never called me back My husband and I decided that if he wasn't going to come install the keypad, we weren't going to sign back up for service

I received a call from someone today telling me I had been "selected" to be offered a one time chance to get in on this "wonderful bargain" from ADT I tried to explain to her we were not interested at this time She WOULD NOT stop talking over me long enough to even hear what I was sayingShe was RUDE and OBNOXIOUSAfter about three minutes of me trying to say one word, I told her I didn't want to be rude, but she was not listening to meAs I was hanging up the receiver, I heard her say: "You are being rude now."This telephone was installed in my residence YESTERDAYThis is absolutely ridiculousIt will be registered on the do not call list immediatelyI have never had any dealings with ADT whatsoever, and they can rest assured because of this incident, I NEVER will

If you have, go through and make sure that you are not under anything where you will have to pay if you choose to cancel
I do not like when people or businesses try to underhand anyone! Let me state my story
I had been an ADT customer for years prior to the situation encountered in I moved in from one rental property to another and thought I was just transferring my service from that location to the new oneLittle did I know, it renewed my contract for years (this was not verbally communicated or told to me by phone or the technician who came to my home)Unfortunately, because of a situation with the new house (something out of my control) I had to move out, and where I moved - I could not carry the alarm service with meI found out because of my cancellation (this was from a charge that they tried to run through my checking account with and final bill sent) ADT had charged me $Let me say this again - I was told whenever I moved, all they had to do is transfer service to whichever location I move to free of charge
They have since then sent my information to a collection agency, in demand of paymentI promise, I will never use them again, I will see to it that no one I know ever uses them againThe power of social mediaI will cost them far more than $

I signed a contract for $but they are charging me a month every time I talk to them they say they will change it but they don't.I signed with them the 30th of January they charged me on the 1st of February $53,and they are trying to charge me again on the 20th of February the same amount and they aren't allowing me to cancel even though they are not complying with my contract price

Very disappointed in ADTI have had ADT for my home apprx years, then rented a house for a year and transferred my service to that addressI was never able to properly SET UP service on computer, so, never, really ever had communication with ADTWe moved apprx months ago due to a diagnosis of breast cancerBills mounted and I no longer could afford it, ADT, no matter what, continues to DRaW on my checking account and OVERDRAWING that account for a remaining months of a contract! I get Alarm calls on that house, that is dangerous! I no longer live there nor should I have authorization to respond to that Security Call! Dangerous!
So, ADT will not change the way the last months are collected due to a fault not my own, so I have to find a way to pay a balance of $150.00+/- !! Seriously!? You have gotten PLENTY from me! I TRIED to move my service but Landlord does not allow! GeeWhiz! I see why! NO heart!

I have been trying to cancel this service for approximately monthsCompany promises cancellation, does nothing, keeps billing me
Several months ago I was having trouble with my home security system In my city, we get fined for excessive alarms I called trying to get my system repaired, and didn't get anywhere so I decided to go with another company I have sent cancellation notices by mail, as well as by talking with their customer service representatives Every time I call, it's like I'm talking to them for the first time There is no record of my letter to them or any of my previous phone calls Every time I talk to them, they assure me that my account will be cancelled, yet they never close the account and they continue to bill me
I don't know where to turn for resolution at this point This is such a trivial matter to go through so much trouble over I just want to cancel my account, pay my *valid* charges, and move on The company seems totally unwilling

This is the most awful service I have ever received from ADT and Defender Security I have had endless billing and service problems with very little resolution support These is a partner group, but have no idea how to work together Their communication is confusing, inconsistent and outright pathetic I have wasted hours trying to solve these problems to no avail I set up easypay and they never charged the payments; excuse, Defender Security is not ADT and this needed to be set up separately They claimed to have left numerous voicemails and text that I never received Most representatives were very rude
I will never use ADT again and will ensure all my associated are aware of the poor service; I would not recommend ADT to anyone At this point, I intend to pay the early cancellation fee just because I do not want to deal with this organization again
I can see by the other reviews that I am not alone Clearly, this company is about profit, not customer service

Lorren and Rommell were out before Thanksgiviing and updated my previous ADT system which we have had for years Very happy with their efficient service Everything was reviewed for me So far no problems Plan on another years!

THEY CLAIM THAT THEY WILL HAVE A MANAGER CALL YOU BACK, YET NO MANAGER EVER CALLS THEY TRY TO PLAY PHONE GAMES TO PROLONG YOU TERMINATION TIME FRAME AND THEN TELL YOU THAT YOU CAN CANCEL BECAUSE YOU THE CANCELLATION PERIOD IS OVER AND TRY TO CHARGE YOU $FOR CANCELLING A SERVICE THAT YOU DIDN'T EVEN GET BECAUSE THEY REFUSE TO SEND A SERVICE PERSON TO FIX THE ISSUES THEIR SERVICE IS TROUBLE THEY TRY TO KEEP YOU HOLDING ON AND WAITING FOR THEM IN ORDER TO HELP MAKE THE CANCELLING TIME FRAME TOO LATE WHEN YOU CALL THEY TRANSFER YOUR CALL FROM DEPARTMENT TO DEPARTMENT AND PERSON TO PERSON I HAVE CALL THEM SEVERAL TIMES TO CANCEL MY SERVICE AND EACH PERSON CLAIMS THAT THERE ARE NO NOTES IN THE SYSTEM STATING THAT YOU CALLED AND CANCELLED YOUR SERVICE! TOTAL SCAMMERS WITH POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND PRODUCTS THAT HALF WORK! THERE NEED TO BE AN OPTION FOR "NO STARS"!

Worst customer service and liarsI was told I will have a day trial to try out the system and decide if I want to keep it or not, if it works out for my familyTurns out, you have only days to cancel but days to downgrade or make changes to your plan!!! Even when the technician comes to your home he says the same thing (days to try the system and then cancel)Read everything you sign because when I was signing, he said I was signing that he was at my home and installed the system but tricked me to sign the contract stating that he informed of day cancellation which he never did!!! Now I am stuck with a system I don't want because I cannot afford over $1,to cancel! Don't trust ADT!! You try to get a hold of a manager of the branch and he won't even return your calls! When you speak to the represenatitives, they say they will not do anything for me because of the contract and the day rule which again, when you call to set up the appointment to install the system, they will tell you you have days!!!! They say one thing but do anotherSTAY AWAY from ADT!!!! I will never recommend it to anyone and make sure to write more reviews of their horrible service and how they trick their customers!!!

Called to cancel services after contract expiration and was forced to pay for one additional month of monitoring (@$44.99/month)

I asked for a copy of my contract because I do not recall signing in ADT/Protection advised I agreed to a verbal agreement and they sent me a piece of paper with a year contract requirement and said it was "verbal" I do not recall agreeing to a year contract whatsoever, maybe year I have been with AGR, then Protection 1, now ADT for years or so during various transitions

Unless u want to loose your money I would suggest from experience not to go with ADT because the first chance they get they will rip u off and u will loose your money..They lie and cheat and will not refund your money and they are crooks
