ADT has the most horrible customer service I called July to cancel my services was told everything was entered and good to go I called back August 3, to provide my new address to receive my final bill which I wanted and expected to pay The rep at that time stated my services where not canceled and said she would help me with that; asked for my new address and proceeded to share I had a cancelation fee I asked what that fee was? She stated I was hoping you didn't ask she shared what the fee was and I was confused as since never had any upgrades I explained that in November a ADT tech came to home, but it was due to letters ADT kept sending stating our system needed upgrading due to 3G requirements and our system was obsolete stamped with urgent After receiving the third letter decided to call and they confirmed yes my system needed updating I asked at that point if I would be paying anything and they stated no The ADT tech was literally in and out in under mins inserted something in our wall unit and said we were updated and now could use the APP they had, plus stated I can give you a camera for freeI stated I didn't want anything to change just wanted to ensure our system worked for the security of my family He said ok had me sign paper of the system being good NOW they tell me I was upgraded and when I signed it was a month contract hence I have to pay a $cancelation fee I could've easily just transferred the service but feel in principal can not do business with a company that deceived me and now all they say is you have a contract The root of issue is the only reason they set foot on my house was due to letters stating my system would not work properly and not be supported That seems to me as just a fix and not a reason to secretly sign me up for a month contract I will never do business with ADT again Since August 3rd I have been waiting for a call back from a manager and nothing I called August 5, to only speak with a Ms*** and in all honesty ADT could save money just hiring parrots since all she could say is you have a contract up to five times Again, not listening to a good paying customer since She gave me the same run around a manager will call you back It is August 8, and have not heard from anyone
I moved to a new home and I was unable to cancel the service due to the year contractSo they told me I could move the service at the same monthly rate and deal that I originally got at my prior home (much larger than our new home by at least square feet) so when they sent the tech to our new residence they said it would be required to start another year contract ! And wanted to charge me per window -the total cost with Windows and activation was over $plus another contractI paid less than half of this in *** for a much larger home and why would I want to start a contract a new? ADT Security has been nothing but trouble!! I would RUN away from this business
We had our business security system with ADT for yearsWe paid well over 40K to have cameras, alarm, keycard access, the full deal installed and monitored with ADT
When we had problems with the system and needed support, our sales rep was nowhere to be foundHe got the deal, so no need to support the account after the check was cut

After closing the business and putting in our request to cancel our account, they kept it open anyways and continue to bill meMind you this is after faxing in a signed cancellation letter twice, and sending in a email to cancel and working with the sales rep for months to get this cancelled, yet it's still openI get the typical response...We never got your request or I sent the request to the wrong fax numberNo, it was the right contact info, you just ignored the request
This is all just not acceptable and based on my experience I have black listed ADT and will never use them againThey just don't give a $#@!The company is disorganized, forgetful, lacking in leadership....the list goes on

I was promised a non hardwired mounted panel and a wireless portable panel
On August 19, 2017, I had my existing ADT service installed into my new homeAfter multiple conversations with customer service, I agreed to a wireless non hardwired panel and a wireless portable control panelOne for both levels of my homeWhen the technician arrived, he told me that he was not told that was the products I was revivingHe proceeded to install control panels that Had to be installed above a power outlet and not where I asked I called customer service while the technician was here and was told I had to pay extra for the second panelAdditionally, I was told that the products I promised could not be installed Then the technician installed the upstairs panel too low I now have panels because the technician would not install the ADT panels where the existing panels were He proceeded to tell me that he does handyman work and could come back to remove/repair my walls where the existing
Equipment is poorly installed had to call several times for failed equipment lie about services tell you u can transfer services with the fact being u have to start a new year contract like u are a indentured servent I have being paying for unused services for the last year and half because I refuse to do another year contract with these liars with horrible equipment and service One serviceman entered a extra code into my key pad allowing him to excess my key pad for later when I contacted the supervisor he said it could not be done only to find out the have excess for hour to your key pad after they leave when I confronted the supervisor by text he could not be reached by phone or text don't trust ADT liars liars liars untrustworthy bad equipment poor service thieves
Horrible serviceI was scammed into services by a third party called safe haven who manages my "contract"My equipment has been defective for the entire year I've had this serviceSafe haven has denied providing me the adt equipment I paid for I have contacted adt multiple times through phone calls and online messaging regarding my cameraAlso my window and door sensors were never installed because they say the year old sensors from a previous company the original homeowner had "would work fine" but I still had to pay for all the equipment and installation feesMy camera was set up with wires hanging down and the camera does not work nor does the remote or glass break sensorsThe technician sent by their third part seller did not know what he was doing and would only communicate through his personal cell phone which I refused to text him onWhen I asked for a new camera to be installed by someone else they flat out said NO because that specific technician services my neighborhoodThey said I can upgrade to the updated equipment when my year contract is upAfter contacting adt they throw the blame to the third party seller called safe haven and when I contact safe haven they tell me to contact Adt about my issuesOne year later and the issues have still not been resolved and my services have been disconnected on meAdt continues to harass me weekly by sending me emails to pay or else they will send me to collections but when I call adt they will tell me to call the third party seller to complain and they refuse to respond to my service requests or provide me the equipment they are charging me forI'm confused why I'm paying to adt but they will not help meI feel like I have been scammed for a year paying Adt for nothing because they threaten to charge me penalties and fees for breaking a "contract" because I only had a few days to cancel and they waited to respond to me until it was too late forcing me to pay themNow I have been ignored by both companiesIt's ironic how the security system worked the first day but as soon as my trial period ended my services stopped working and adt Put me on auto pay from my bank without my permission and when I called they refused to take me off auto payI had to have my bank stop all future payments to them and now they want to continue to harass me to keep payingWhat a scam! Service has not worked in over a yearIt wasn't until we quit paying our bill that they agreed to send out a technician
Our service with ADT hasn't worked in over a yearOnce we quit paying our bill and after several phone calls they sent out a service tech who ultimately figured out why it wasn't workingHe had to make several changes including removal of some screws to the wall for the system to sit straightI was told once the technician came out to assess the situation we would be getting credits back for the time we paid and didn't receive serviceUltimately, the person whom the technician reported back to proceeded to tell us there wasn't an issue found and that we needed to pay the past due balanceSee...after it not working for such a long period of time...I quit paying...why would I pay for a service I was not receivingThis was the response I got after the technician spent hours at my home and concluded the system indeed wasn't functioning properly
I recently learned that our ADT monitoring service is a dangerous and expensive waste of moneyWe've had ADT monitoring in our current home for over years and years at our previous addressWe are required to have a landline with our ADT monitoring serviceRecently our fire alarm did not go off but the fire monitoring system sent an alert to ADTThe ADT representative tried to call our required landline which was two feet from where I was sitting and could not get through because the system was using the landline to send the alert so she left a message on our voicemailShe then telephoned my husbands cell phone and left a message when he did not answer and she stopped thereWe previously provided ADT with six emergency telephone numbers, #1.our home phone,# 2&my and my husbands cell phone numbers and # 4,& the home and cell phones of three more parties in the event of an emergencyEventually ADT called the fire departmentYou can imagine our surprise when the pounding on our door turned out to be the local fire departmentWe learned that the time lapse between the original alert and fire departments arrival at our house was close to minutesThe fire department is just a couple of miles up the road from our houseWe were pretty upset to learn that the fire alarm had not sounded and that the landline cannot be used during an alertHad there been a fire upstairs while we and our dogs were downstairs we *** have been injured or worseWe don't feel comfortable leaving our dogs home alone or safe at night when we're asleepminutes can mean the difference between life or death in an emergency situationI was going to upgrade to ADTs wireless system however we were informed by an ADT representative that the 'upgrade' is not compatible with our unit and that our daughter who has the newer wireless system receives fire and intrusion phone alerts several times a dayShe has notified ADT and they have sent techs out to no availShe is worried that she will not know when a real emergency occurs resulting in the injury or deaths of her dogsWe've lost our trust in ADT, and most important our sense of safety and securityI'm currently looking for a new system and monitoring company

I know there are steps to follow as a customer to contact ADT of problems with the service (and there are many problems with the service and lack of service) and equipment I have tried for over six months to follow those steps; however, your company employees do not follow through with their promises Please review the following chronological time frame that I am listing below
If your company is unwilling or unable to even return my calls when I talk to them, then I need to change providers and request a refund of what I have paid for the service at three different locations that I own Please let me know who will contact me and when I have been more than reasonable, as you will see from the notes in your own system, but I have done all I am willing to do If I need to obtain legal representatio

Getting billed when we should not be

My alarm system has not worked for YEARS! I finally was frustrated with multiple attempts to correct service and decided to cancel service months ago! apparently brinks opted me into a year extension I did not know about when I moved and are asking for to cancel my service, saying that I have months left on my contract, this is insane, I used monitronics, I did not want Brinks when Brinks purchased them I don't want to continue doing business with this comapnylI don't know why anyone would want to do business with this companyI would like to be included on the class action lawsuit that i'm sure will occur against them

Horrible customer service they refuse to let you speak to a supervisor they refuse to refund you your money when they double draft your account I cancelled service and the lady I spoke to was extremely rude she put me on a silent hold came back said its been done and hung up I called back for my refund of one supervisor said days another said they put it on hold till the 16th here we are the 17th and they still haven't refunded me my money they lie to you they decieve there customers and make sure you know that if your sensors breaks off and you can't find it they will charge you an arm and leg to fix if your better off switching companies they also raise your rate and do not notify you and when you call they give you this big speech and swear they sent you out a letter the sad part of all this your paying more money but your service still the old system while your paying the same price as new customers the new customers have upgraded systmes with panel that csn be controlled by phone cameras all the works also if you want to upgrade to what those customers have better be prepared to pay over dollars
