Experience has been unprofessional I called ADT for an appointment for an alarm system, and was given a 6pm appointment for a sales person to come out and give me a quote on June 18th At 6:I was texted a picture of the high way by the sales person He then called me minutes later and said he needed to reschedule to Sunday Needless to say he quoted me as a monthly payment for the alarm system I declined I called back a the following month, and asked if they would honor the price and they stated they would However when I got the proposal they stated I didn't notice that it was higher

I received an invoice dated December 1, from you, asking for a payment of $for monitoring from DEC to DEC 31,
I cancelled this service by way of a letter dated October 3, and again on October by way of another letter (see below)
As you can imagine from my TWO cancellation letters, I do not want any service from you
I will not pay this invoice, nor any future invoiceIf you continue to send me invoices, I will refer this matter to my attorney and to the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection

I purchased a home in *** ** in and contacted ADT for a system based on an advertisement for approximately $20/month monitoring service and an equipment package that included features I wanted, including a camera, carbon monoxide monitoring, and entry point sensors My spouse had also previously used an ADT system and was pleased with the service I was also under the impression from the ad that it would include a year contract When the technician arrived, we were informed that ADT has changed to wireless, battery powered sensors, which was a concern, but we were assured that the battery life in each component would exceed the duration of the contract and if we chose to renew at that point, we could get a whole new system When the installation was complete, I was informed that the monitoring that included the video features and all the equipm

ADT lied to me when I canceled my service and billed me incorrectly based on what I was originally told
I canceled my service in April When I canceled my service there were months remaining on my contract I was told that since I sold my home where the service was installed, I would no longer be liable for the remaining portion of the contract On May 17th ADT auto-withdrew a fill month payment from my checking acct for the month of May services, at which time I no longer owned the home or used their service I called ADT regarding the charge and they informed me I now am liable for the remainder of the contractTheir people lied to me and robbed me!

#- Asked Lisa to cancel ADT acct on 05/01/when ADT contract officially ends on 05/01/
#- Reason for cancellation: property sold and already have ADT service at new property so no need for transfer of service
#- ADT rep Lisa said cancellation noted in system and cancellation taken care of
#- I asked Lisa if an email would be sent to me to provide confirmation of cancellation Lisa said email would be sent right away and letter would be sent later
#- Lisa also said a credit would be applied as well
#- Contacted ADT again on 03/02/@ 3:pm MST and spoke to another rep who said she did not see any notes in the system indicating cancellation on 05/01/

In July I began an account with ADTIt was recommended that I utilize the Cloud system with an internet service provider OptimumIt has been a comedy of errors on part of Optimum and ADT who do not play well together and always blaming each other for any error in serviceFirst, we needed several visits for just installation and making the product workRealize that I am not a technician and told several times to fix an access problem aloneSometimes you get lucky and have a person who is patient enough to assistThe main problem with ADT is their customer serviceIn the time I have had this account and called maybe three or four times it literally takes 45-minutes just to get an operatorTheir automated keeps quoting about their excellent service yet you stay on holdToday I called and after being placed on hold for about an hour I was transferred to the camera department and in turn to another automated service which I later learned was BrivoI left a message for access to my administrative log inThe original contract was scribbled in and is unreadable
In February my camera was out pretty much just about twenty days of the monthI tried to call to notify ADT and was told to collect dates and call backBy the time I got around to it March was hereIt appears after thirty days this information is not available
Since last year I had another security device placed in my home in another property and decided not to go with ADTI chose SlominsSo far the customer service is good and thinking about expanding the serviceLastly, the contract originally sign says I received training on certain aspects of this system which I never didI also needed the insurance certificate and was never able to access this via their website

Making a payment on line is not effective and its deceiving
I love my ADT systemI used my credit card for payments, but found making the payments on line was sufficientHowever, I noticed that my payments were not being processed & returnedThen I found out that even though you schedule a payment on line for a specific date, ADT decides to take it out on the same dayEven though the website provides you with an option to select when the payment comes outI have certain bills that I pay on certain dates, so when I go to ADT and select September 30th, to bring my account up to dateThat is the date I am expectingNot when they feel as though it should come outThen the customer support representative that I spoke with today wants to give me a refundA refund for what?? The money hasn't drafted from my accountI just wanted her to stop the paymentI have my mortgage payment and anyhow there are insufficient funds in my account this will cause great stressSo ADT needs

We have had an ADT alarm in our home for years We recently replaced exterior doors on our home and called to see about reconnecting the new doors (we had a hard-wire system) I was initially told the cost could not be determined by phone and would depend on a home inspection which was set up for week out The night prior to the service call, the installer called to confirm - he was easily able to tell me a cost -$300+ and my monthly monitoring fee would increase from $to $ I said we would look into other options -The representative was less than polite from the beginning, leaving me with the impression he was doing me a favour by coming out - I contacted ADT the next day to cancel our service and was put through to customer service I left a message and more than week later have had no response I called again to cancel and the agent wanted to put me through to customer service again, I explained my previous experience but agreed, he came back to tell me it was an answering service again and considerately let me know I"d be leaving a message He then transferred me to the cancellation department (?) There a very pleasant representative informed me that there was no cost to reconnect and no change to the monthly monitoring fee!! At this point I am a bit flabbergasted by the behaviour of this company We have still not heard back from customer service and have cancelled our service

I signed up with ADT in I sold my house in and asked to move my services to a new locationI got a house built so I spent months with a family memberDuring that months I was charged for the service even though I wasn't using itThey will not refund me the money or apply it to the new accountNow that I have the service set up in a new house, they want me to sign another month contract because they say that I am "starting over" in a new homeHowever, I was consistently charged for the service for over a yearThey can either apply the money that I spent to this new account OR they can shorten the contract the give me grace for the time that I've already been a customerMaking it mandatory for me to sign another month contract is absolutely ridiculous

ADT assured that a year contract was transferrable with any moveThey now insist on a new contract due to a move or face a huge financial penalty
I purchased an ADT security system in December with the assurance from their representatives that by signing the contract, which locks you into a year commitment, that if I moved my residence my contract would be transferrableOn Tuesday 9/27/I called ADT to request a move (to another unit on the same property) and was informed that my only option was to enter an entirely new year contract or pay a $cancellation fee for the serviceI am willing to honor my original contract, but as a renter who frequently moves, I feel that being forced to enter an entirely new contract effectively traps me in their system forever Account #: XXXXXXXXX

My father was visiting from out of town His alarm went off at 3am ADT called him and stated they would contact the local county sheriff's dept to check out the place The representative stated they will call him back and let him know if everything is alright I thought that was what the commercial said "Peace of Mind." Three hours later, no call no confirmation if there was a problem Finally my dad called, representative told him if he doesn't get a call back, all is good He wanted the phone number for the sheriff's department because he felt like no one calling him back is a bad sign They refused to give him the phone number for the local county sheriff's department Had he received a call stating the police went out and found nothing, he would have been fineHe asked to speak to a manager just to explain if the alarm goes off, he expects a call with a status good or bad The manager started interrupting him talking over him and stated that if they don't call back then nothing happened I got on the phone and stated I was his daughter she started talking loudly over meI told her to let me just say one sentence She kept talking and not listening to my statement I finally told her to pass *** word to upper management that it would have been nice to get a good confirmation Just like when they get their check for services, they want to make sure the money is cleared We expect the same respect and courtesy I looked up the phone number for the county sheriff and hey were able to confirm they checked out the place and there was no disturbanceWhich ended well, but we had to confirm that ourselvesADT didn't seem to care we just needed to know after three hours

Total Hotel California experience You can sign up, but you can never leave I am conservator for my elderly mom, and have tried for months to cancel her service They claim to have no knowledge of receipt of her cancellation letter Over three hours of my life spent on the telephone over numerous conversations and multiple reps (all of whom were absolutely horrible and entirely ineffective and poorly informed) Never get started with these thieves and go directly to a local service

I have called in multiple times in order to cancel my commercial alarm system
Both myself and a couple other individuals from our organization have called in a number of times to cancel our commercial alarm systemEverytime we are put on hold for an extrememly long time and once we finally get through to someone and give all of our credentials and passwords we are told that they cannot process our requestWe are then told that someone else will give us a call in the next - business days to handleBut no one ever calls
Everytime I call back in they tell me how sorry they are and that they will have some handle this right awayBut no one actually does anything

I have had ADT for about years I moved in and kept ADT with automatic payments from my checking account As of 12/5/I had my land line removed and went with Xfinity ADT continue to take money from my account and no contract for years at $a month so my question is what were they monitoring when they knew there wasn't a land line In June of I got my security switched to Xfinity I called to have the account cancelled and stayed on hold over one hour every time I attempt to cancel and they continue to take money from my account When I stop the payments from coming out of my account then I was able to talk to someone in August and because I didn't have my password they refused to cancel my service so they are continuing to call and harass me and they are continuing to charge for something they know I don't use And if they were to give a printout of my service for two years and counting there isn't any activity on the account because there is no phone l

We paid off our bill yet they continue to harness us and ask for us to pay for it againThey want our bank acct # and routing #We will not provide
5-calls to each of our cells a day between 5am and 10pmtext messages nowyelling and calling us namesthreatswe paidwas on the phone for 3+ hours to get resolved then phone calls less than hours later from collections again although we owe nothing!!!

BE AWARE----I've been an ADT customer for over yrsI just up graded to the pulse systems with wireless camerasThis system has a major flawMy car was vandalized in my drivewayWhen I went to show the video to the policeI learned that the camera only records for seconds....then TAKE MINUTES TO RESET BEFORE IT RECORDS AGAINso all I had was the back of someones headThey left that info about the MINUTE DELAY...out of the sales pitchVery disappointedI was surprised to hear from ADT customer service "who had no idea about their systems" that for another $they can get me the system I thought I had brought
