ADT not monitoring my home

I have contacted ADT regarding the fact that they are not monitoring my home yet they are still charging me a monthly paymentTheir response was that I need to tell them when there is an issue If they are truly monitoring my home as they should be they should know there is an issue, should they not? That's the whole point of having security Their second response was that I should call techor cancel my service
My residence was not sending a signal to adtTherefore , I called times to schedule a service call and still not able to book serviceRidiculous!!

I called to cancel my ADT alarm monitoring service on July 18, and spoke to *** at ADT at approximately 852pm EDT He agreed to cancel service at that time Several days later, my credit card on file with ADT was charged an additional $for service from 7/21/through 8/17/ Since these dates were after I had canceled, I contacted ADT through their online contact form, but received no response So I reversed the charges with my credit card company stating that the charge was for a service that had already been cancelled Shortly after the charge was reversed ADT starts sending my past due notices for the $ When I call them to inquire, the rep gives me a hard time saying that it is ADT's policy to bill the customer for an additional month of service after it is disconnected When I protested, they insisted that I owed the money and would they would collect it Rather than risk collections over $30.21, I reluctantly paid the bill online to zero the account ho
My fees kept increasing every year to beyond new installs and without any equipment upgrades Eventually it seemed unfair that as a loyal customer I was paying more and more for less security equipment (bells and whistles) in place in my home so I decided I would be better off cancelling and being a new customer for another company or returning to ADT after a period of absence So now I have called and spoken to someone on different occasions over a month period Each time, I am told that my service will be cancelled and for some reason it was not processed correctly the previous time I called Each call takes me over minutes speaking to women who has a huge attitude Still my service has not been cancelled and I keep getting overdue notices At this point I will pay anything to just end this relationship Making it so difficult to cancel seems like a deceptive and unfair business practice
I cancelled the monitoring from ADT alarm systems due to financial problemsI'm on disability and only get about $900/monthThey still took a payment out after me cancelling them(direct withdrawal $19.75/month.) I phoned them to complain about them doing thisNext thing I know I get mail (a bill for $for cancelling their monitoring service) I own the equipment; I do not rent itI phoned them again to say that I cancelled them because I cannot afford it and then they send me a bill for years monitoring service just because I cancelled
When I first got the service, it was with Protectron which was bought out by ADT

I am writing to express my extreme satisfaction with my ADT services
History: I went under contract in November to secure my home(Encl #1)
At the time of installation, a service man came into my home and after asking where I wanted my security panel, he commenced drilling a hole in to my wall
After the installation he told me that my service would cost 50+ dollars per month and my initial charge would be 120+ dollars I said, no, my service was to be per the advertisement He said that his ticket was to install the premium service He told me that I should take it up with corporate to resolve any issues
The first bill I received was for over $I paid it and filed a complaint ADT told me that since it was a "Defender" company that I would have to take up all issues with Defender, I called Defender and they told me that ADT would have to handle the issue and was abruptly disconnected I called Defender back and was hung up on again I called ADT and was informed that because my contract was less than months old, I would have to handle all issues though Defender I called Defender and was abruptly disconnected after being placed on hold for over minutes
My next bill was for $dollars I called to complain about the billing and was informed that to get the charge I would need a dedicated phone line I called ATT and had a dedicated phone line installed Defender came out again to reinstall the correct service The serviceman removed the panel in my wall and left the four-inch hole The installer said that if he were to repair the hole that I would not like the results Obviously, I was not thrilled with the hole either I have since patched the hole, picture attached (Encl #2)
The service man connected the wires from the ADT Panel and the phone jack He left the wiring in such a state that it looked like a 3rd grader performed the service(Encl #3) To the installer's credit, he said that it was a couple years since he installed a dedicated phone line
I am now beyond livid The service has been VERY POORThe quality of workmanship is greatly lacking I want the service removed and contract cancelled
I called ADT and they told me that, because it was less than two months that I would have to handle all complaints through Defender Defender told me that only ADT can cancel a contract (This went on for four phone calls) After a week of this run around, Defender told me that now that I have had the service for over two months, I cannot cancel without paying the full contract, over $
I have NEVER HAD SUCH POOR SERVICE and I cannot evaluate the product due the limited time on line
To resolve this issue: refund my initial down payment and remove all products from my home
There is nothing that can be accomplished with ADT or Defender that I feel confident to allow this product in my home

I signed a year contract when I called after 1/years to see about lowering the monitoring fees they said it was a year contractI ask them to send me a copy of the contractThey did my signature was no where on the contractand all the places that were supposed to be my initials were not "easy to see"One of the persons I spoke told me how they do it and I don't think she meant toWhen the paper contract is signed she said that it was just for you to read so you could decided it that is what you wanted and that the real contract was not signed until the installer had you sign for the installationThe installer ask you to sign only for the installationWith only months left in the contract you may think why botherWell because it is fraudThis company is deceiving people and this practice should be stoppedI called ADT home off

I have scheduled an appointment with ADT, for someone to come and give me a quote, the appointment was from 3pm to 6pmThe guy came minutes early, I was not home, my wife was home and she let him in
My wife called and told me that we have an ADT guy to install the alarmIt took me minutes to get homeAs I walked home, I saw a guy screwing in a panel to a wall (without my expressed permission I should add)
The guy was very smooth salesmen and after he screwed on the panel, then we started to walk around a home and then he gave me a quoteThe quote was (for a sq/f bedroom house) - $Then we "negotiated" down to $He was so smooth, I could not say no to the guyBasically I was royally screwed by a very good sneaky salesman who has pushed the envelope short of criminality
I have called a customer service and explain that I am feeling connedThe lady told me that that I can fax a cancelation form and cancel the accountHowever, after I asked whether this is a common business practice and whether they will be talking to the "salesman" about the whole sale deal, she took off on meShe started by giving me a life lessons how to behave and how I should have said "NO" to the salesman, how I should have "NOT SIGNED" anything if I don't feel comfortableShe may be right (I need to be more of an a$$4ole sometimes), however its not as easy at it sounds
First of all, she should not give me or anyone else any life lessonsShe can keep her lessons for her husbandI did not call her home for an advise
Second of all, not all people as assertive as she is, some people are having a hard time saying "NO"Being a nice guy has its upsidesHowever, being a nice guy (or too stupid some *** say, we can argue about it of course) makes me an easy mark for sneaky sales people and they take advantage of me
And thirdly, buying an alarm system should not be a negotiation gameSome people negotiate better than othersA $system should not be negotiated down to $1700, how this happens with ADT is beyond me?
ADT advertises $credit towards equipment, then give you additional $on top of thatHowever ADT installer (agent) will be calculating a bill for $(for a standard bedroom home) and end up presenting you a $3500bill, unless you are in a negotiating moodIf you are a good negotiator, then its a skills game
While ADT maybe a reputable company, the sales tactics they employ, brings into question their moral and business ethics standardsSo sadI've expected so much from these guys, but I am so disappointed
Completely mismanaged company, with distorted ethical and moral compasses, full of smooth talking con-men working sales and mafia style "wise" customer service ladies giving life lessons for us "stupid" people
We never agreed to service with ADTThey signed us up for service without our knowledge, after our contract with a different company endedWe never were asked if we wanted serviceWe never agreed to serviceThen the billing began and despite repeated phone calls to ADT where the customer service rep agrees to terminate the service and is told that we never requested it, they continue to bill and threaten collections and credit bureau reportingThey continue to harass us and may even be harming our credit

On Thursday, June 2017, my truck (parked in front of my home) was burglarizedThe thief stole over $worth of equipment from my vehicle and the Pulse system only caught him exiting the vehicle with the items he stoleWhen I contacted customer service, an unconcerned customer service representative placed me on hold to inquire about why the thief was able to rifle through my vehicle practically unnoticed by my theft-detection-deterrent systemWhat she discovered is my camera was asleep for five minutesApparently ten minutes prior to the theft the camera caught a little motion, went to sleep for five minutes and then woke back up to catch the thief exiting the vehicleWhen the salesman sold the cameras he never told me that the system goes to sleep in between shotsWhich explains why I appear to miss some things that I believe I should have captured on filmHe claimed it was a live-feedWhich I am now learning it is NOT a live-feed systemI have had ADT for well over
