I entered into a processing relationship recently directly with First Data several months ago, and we recently began using them to process transactions directly with them Despite having reviewed and approved our application, when we began processing activity with them they re-ran some type of review and decided to make a huge change to the terms of our relationship Our business has operated exactly the same way for the last years and we have had a very low chargeback rate on our transactions Unfortunately, the First Data risk group did not have any interest in reviewing the data, and we were sold on a service based on the course of our business All of the information that they needed to actually contact a review was there before we ever got started They certainly had no problem taking fees from us, but decided to change the parameters without notice to us and without describing the basis of any of their calculations I do not know who is better but I do know that First Data has the ability to completely devastate small or medium sized business owners on a whim and without a reasonable calculable basis I would encourage any business owner to steer clear of First Data when selecting a processing company
