Ordered a Nikon camera from merchant Received a phone call from merchant to confirm order and upsell additional items I specifically inquired if the accessories were NIKON brand, and I was assured that they were What I received was a box of cheap, substandard after market items which were nowhere worth what I paid I priced them out at $from other merchants (choosing the highest competitor price in each case), for which I paid $ I understand that businesses are in business to make money, but that mark up is a little obscene I have spent inordinate amounts of time either e-mailing them (attempts) and ridiculous hold times (5x at roughly min waits per attempt) to request a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number, but to no avail I will be disputing the charge in the amount of $($minus their 15% restocking fee) via AmEx and filing reviews and complaint with anyone I can possible think of
Please avoid this vendor at all costs!! I placed an order for three canon lenses on-lineI get a call the following morning from a customer service representative confirming the order - all good so farThen he mentions that two of the lenses are imported (not US versions) and offered to "upgrade me" to the US version, because I was a repeat customerWell - he also wanted to upgrade the price as well When I told him to remove those two from the order, he then said that the entire order will be canceled and he will not sell me the other lens any longer and said " Go buy it at B+H"
Nowhere on the website does it say aftermarket or imported lensWhen you purchase a lens from B+H that is imported, it is clearly listed as suchThe lens is also listed as US market price - this is totally deceiving, unethical and probably illegal
I will be following up with Canon about this issue as well
Now, I also had to go though the trouble of canceling my credit card - don't want these shady individuals with such info
PLEASE STAY AWAY !
As a side note - they are actually located in NJ (not Maine)
Same story - I wish I had never ordered from them! Bait and switch on a product that likely was A "US" product anyway Said if I canceled order they have to charge restocking fee even though they had obviously not done anything with the order other than try to upsell A disgusting display of customer service - should be shut down
I ordered a Sony TV 6/3/and got an email to call them They claimed that model was out of stock even though they continue to show it in stock on the Abes site Tried selling me another model but wanted $more than the price listed on the site saying that one was "commercial" and I could only buy the "residential" model Who ever heard of such a thing I cancelled but am now worried they have my AMEX number and security code

I purchased a camcorder on Abe’s of Maine scam website which said it was in stockAfter doing a checkout I was in communication with the company about related aspectsI was told the camcorder was no longer in stock but they did have the same model with bundled items at a higher price pointI mentioned I could not afford the extra amountThey offered to drop the priceI asked for an email stating what I would be gettingI told them I would need some time to considerThey offered a free filterI asked for a confirmation email to that confirmed the price they quotedI was then told that I had said I wanted the camcorder and they had already billed the credit card for the item price a couple thousandNote they have a restocking feeI was told to send the item back after requesting the order be canceled and that I had not said yesThat's when things got really bad
I was told did I want to listen to the recording saying I hadI asked for the supervisorThe sales agent Steve put me on hold briefly and said the supervisor had listened to the recording and agreed I had confirmedI said I would call the credit card company and have that reversedThey said they would send the recording to the credit card companyI eventually hung upThey called me back saying we got disconnectedThey attempted to sell me, I threatened bad reviews and said to cancel the orderI hung up, they kept calling back and each time tried offering a lower price and a few more items to help me with the current experienceI told them during this not to call me back and to cancel the order
By this time I was seeing red and on the verge of a migraineOn the last call, the supervisor called me and tried to sell meI mentioned how I was a filmmaker, knew people in the media and did they want a backlash on the internetAfter that only did the supervisor hang upI wasn’t sure at that point if the credit card had been billed for the online order and the forced sale on the bundleBest case for them it would have been several hundred on a re-stocking fee had I been a push overIn all my years of ordering online, Abe’s of Maine was the worst ever experienceNo matter what the item or the price, DO NOT buy anything from Abe’s of Maine, a scam company from hell
I ordered a LG TV from this company After placing the order I received an email telling me to call in and verify my order Upon calling into them I was told that the set was not for home use and that it was a volt set, and that even though their site said free shipping I was going to have to pay shipping charges I called LG on the model number and the model number indicates to be sold in the US market and as such this is the only model type they have here Abes of Main claimed there were models of which one was for Retail and the other one was not I told them to send anyway but that was when they said I would have to pay shipping because it was out of their area Nothing was listed during the order process for either of the situations listed above When sent to customer service, they just hung up on me Buyer be ware!
Purchased a TV on cyber Monday I was sent an email telling me I must call to confirm the purchase I called the nest day on Tuesday I was on hold for hours and had the phone hung up on me twice Called again on 11/(Wednesday), finally spoke with customer service I was informed that the TV is on back order with no estimated delivery date Was offered a much cheaper replacement and expedited shipping for the original price I paid for a much more expensive TV

I had to repeatedly call to get the refundYou had stated you would issue a refund when you received the tracking information, you did not. I tracked the package and it was received and I called again, only then did you send a receipt for the refund. I have been repeatedly lied to and to get anyone to follow through with there statements I had to continue to call your customer service.

On June 20th Abe’s of Maine advertised a Canon 6D camera body on the internet $1,indicating it normally retailed for $1, I ordered it, using a credit card
I received an email confirmation for #*** which indicated the order will take 1-days to process
Later that day I received a call from a salesman there trying to sell me batteries for the camera for an increase in the price by more than $ (I already have a Canon 6D which is broken I seem to recall it came with batteries) I declined to buy more batteries Later that day I received another call from a woman at NJ number *** She asked me when I needed the camera I said that is an odd question I am in no hurry, but as soon as practical She said it would be at least weeks before they would be able to ship one to me, unless I wanted a US version I said I didn’t really care what version, they are all made in Japan She said the US version would be $more I told her I had
