I ordered a camera online and received an email asking me to contact Abe's to confirm my orderAfter countless phone calls, I was finally able to contact a personNo one answers their customer service numberI was told that the product I ordered, was no longer available anywhere and they suggested that I upgrade to a more expensive product which I didI then searched ***, and found the product that was "unavailable", and the upgraded product at a significantly lower priceI contacted Abe's again, and was told that *** had inferior products with no warrantyI plan to return the product when it arrives, and dispute the charge on my credit cardI looked on a Consumer Affairs site and found similar complaints as mineApparently they Practice a 'Bait and Switch" scam on a regular basisThe representative I spoke with is Jeff S***

I placed an order and was required to call & confirm to process the order They talked me into purchasing an additional "package" for the camera I had purchased which included two (2) high capacity batteries, a charger, eyecup and neck strap for the camera I purchased - these batteries were to replace the one (1) regular 2-hour battery that normally comes with the camera and that the upgrade cost $- per Jeff S*** who said the high-capacity batteries normally cost $each, so this package was a "deal" I agreed to the upgraded batteries He gave me the new price and processed the order The problem is I was unable to check the original sales order as I answered the call at work and upon review of my packing slip/invoice they charged me an additional $for the $package and they did not ship me the additional items they talked me into buying Original camera package price that I bought: $1399.00; amount charged to my credit card for the "upgraded" package with the

They will attempt to bait and switch you even after you already place what appears to be a valid orderI ordered an LG OLED tv and after order was placed a salesman from the company called and said I ordered the Europe version with the incorrect power, even though nothing about this was stated on their website and it is obviously a US based company with the TV featured on their homepageSalesman stated they would change my order to US version of TV but that would be $1,morePure scam artists, it is incredible that companies that do business like this can stay in business

I ordered a inch LG tv from Abes of Maine on Dec 9th, 2017, the same company as WestPark ElectronicsThe agreed price was $including standard 7-ground shippingI have received an email confirmation from the company to this effect, including the exact amount and shippingAs stated, the order included free 7-day shipping to CaliforniaThen two days later the company called me, saying they needed to confirm the orderThey claimed there was a mandatory extra charge of $for shipping insurance that would also include expedited deliveryWhen I got a new confirmation email there was no mention of either expedited delivery, the new increased credit card charge -- delivery was still 7-day standard delivery, and the TV would arrive after Christmas

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:1- Since I placed the order, I only received emails from the businessOne in June 30, which is attached with no shipping costThe other in July 11, after receiving the itemThere has been no other emails or calls between those days regarding the order whatsoeverThe only email I sent expressing interest in changing delivery method was in June 30, and I never received a reply2- As shown in the document they provided, the order was placed on June 30, but was delivered on July 11, (which can be confirmed using the track# they provided)The item took Business days to be delivered yet I was charged $for business days delivery.I have never called the business and the business never called meAll communication was done via e-mail and I never received an email from them regarding changing the shipping methodYes, I sent an e-mail expressing interest with no replyI am willing to accept $if they take responsibility of the mistake and offer a sincere apology for their lack of communication and attempt to blame me for their screw upOtherwise, I will not accept less than $Regards,*** ***

I purchased a Tamron 150-600mm lense from Abe's of Maine (Westpark Electronics)I researched this lens thoroughly and read through all their terms of service, product specifications, and Q&A, no where on their website nor the product page does it explain that the manufacturer's warranty is Void because they are not an authorized dealer When contacting the Manufacturer they claim the product is a 'grey market' product I called Abe's of Maine and explained my dilemma of this lens malfunctioning after only months and they said someone called me to tell me this product wasn't under warranty by the manufacturer before they shipped it No one called me to inform me of this or I wouldn't have purchased the lens Now I have a $lens that has no warranty and doesn't work They have advertising on their page showing you can purchase an extended warranty after the manufacturer's warranty ends, of which there is none

On 11/24/I ordered a Nikon Dcamera body from Abe's of Maine through their online portalOn 12/3/I received a call call from Ted, a sales representative with Abe'sTed was checking with me to see if I was aware that I had purchased the "international model" of the Nikon Dand made it known to me that this camera would not be serviced by Nikon USA if something went wrong so "today" I could not only upgrade to the US model, he would give me free shipping, for only $more than then originally advertised price on $After much discussion, even though I was quite leery of what seemed to me as bait and switch (which I actually said to Ted and he replied "Why would a company that has been in business for years do bait and switch?", I agreed to the new purchase price for a new Nikon DUS model as it was still at a discounted price of $
This is a gift for my daughter who as a professional photographer needs a good bacamera body, this is a good choice

This company needs to be put out of businessI had the same bait and switch experience today as others have had! I ordered a camera, got an email to call Jeff, he told me to choose which battery I'd like shipped with my camera and when I explained that I just wanted the one that came with the camera (standard for the camera company), he told me the camera did not come with a batteryJeff pushed me arguing that my understanding was incorrect, offered me a deal that would beat a competitor's price, etcI asked him to cancel my orderDo not so business with this company!

I would ordinarily not contact your busy office but it just upsets me to attempt transactions with a deceptive business like this in your stateOn November 29, (yesterday) I responded to an ad on the internet that offered a Fujifilm photographic lens for my cameraThe offer was (is) for $shipping included, WITH ALL MANUFACTURER's SUPPLIED ACCESSORIESOne day after (today), I received an email stating I needed to call the store and confirm the orderWhen I was able to connect I was asked if I wanted the "retail" version or the "boxed" version (they don't ask you this when you do the order online)I was told the "retail" version only includes the lens (no accessories) and the "boxed" version includes everything that the manufacturer includes in the original boxIf I wanted the boxed version it would cost $instead of the advertised $This is deceptive and you should take action to stop this practice of deceiving people like thisI'm sure I'm not the only onePleas

Black Friday came around and I looked for a large TV, saw an ad at AbesofMaine for a TV with "Free Shipping", I ordered the TV and it sat in the "New Order" category under my order status like that past the end of Black Friday all the way thru Cyber Monday, when I received an email from them wanting me to "confirm my order" I called, left a VM, no callback, call again a bit later and their sales staff answers, tell me that my order falls into a zipcode that requires additional insurance/shipping costs Ah, yes the bait and switch method, using up all the time for the holiday sales to be over to add on additonal costs for their product and the prominent "Free Shipping" advertised all over the website I question about the advertised free shipping and the sales guy snaps quick (almost as he has been repeating this hundreds of times today) "It's all over our site that you could be charged for insurance", when asked how much its over $200+ for the extra fees, then he proceeded to cance

I purchased a TV from this vendor for what appeared to be a deal The following day I received an unusual email to call the company to confirm my order The person answered by just saying "hello" When I called I found out the TV purchased would cost $more than advertised This was a classic "bait and switch" They did not disclose this amount at the time of the purchase when the credit card information was submittedI found out one day later of the additional charges and cancelled the order I have a receipt where it shows $for shipping and handling only to be told when I called that insurance/transportation fees would be requiredThis company is not forthright/honest with price at the time of purchase They demonstrated rude customer support as under a minute into the call when I asked about the shipping charges I was just told he would cancel the order and hung up on Do not buy from this company They even disguise the name of their business which is "Abes of Maine" as West Park Electronics LLC on here to make it difficult for customers to find them on the Revdex.com

Purchased a Canon 7D mark ii Website said came with charger and batteryWithin the hour, customer service called me to sell me the battery and chargerTold a Mr.S*** that it came with the productWe both looked at the website, saw the listing and told it was a mistake, that battery and charger were not includedBattery and charger was removed from website immediately Bait and switch tactic Will never shop with them again Called three times to speak with manager, would not return my call

Abe's of Maine uses the classic bait and switch They advertise a price that is much lower than the overall market, but don't disclose that is a non-U.Sproduct After placing the order, you have to talk to Jeff who informs you that the model you ordered only works with 230V If you want the 120V (U.S.) model, it is several hundred dollars more The is for an ** *** ***

I purchased online a *** *** on SaturdayOn Monday, I got an email from the Business stating that I needed to call and confirm the purchaseWhen I did, I spoke with Jeff, and he attempted to upsell me an additional battery and better shipmentAfter going back and forth, he stated that I will get a 5hr life batter plus their express shipping which would get me my camera by the end of the same weekWe agreed to a $up charge and that was itOtherwise it would be standard *** which would take 7-daysI finally got a confirmation with tracking only to see it was UPS ground service and it would take a week before I get the packageI sent an email to Jeff questioning this because this is not what I was toldThis afternoon, he called me and immediately attacked me on the phone asking if I am trying to cause problems with him, why am I causing trouble, this is not what he told me, that he has a recording of the conversationHe said he does not want to deal with me and will canc

Westpark Electronics, LLC DBA: Abe's of Maine Camera and Electronics, is a classic bait and switch operation They offer all sorts of name brand products at discounted rates, but in the end they are not an Authorized Dealer of almost any of the brands they carry They sell products that do NOT include the standard year US warranties, and in many cases do not include normally included accessories
Once you buy a product from them you will receive a call asking if you would like to buy some of the accessories that should have been included and/or upgrade to the "legitimate" version of the product (for more money of course)
They also have a very strange return policy demanding a 15% restocking fee for anything you send back (or refuse delivery for) which is also a suspicious business practice
Overall I would NOT recommend doing business with this company

Classic bait and switchI went on their website to search for a Canon 80D, which the website listed as being on sale for $- a great price for a camera that normally retails at $1099! The site lists the camera as brand new (not refurbished), so I placed my orderI got an order confirmation email and then a few minutes later I got another email to call "Ted" in their service department to complete my order
He asks me if I want a hour battery or a hour batteryI told him that I'm a professional photographer and that I know that the camera comes with a batteryThat's when he tells me that the camera I ordered was the international version and didn't come with a battery, but that he could upgrade me to the US version - one that does come with a battery - for $more
Avoid this company
