We were able to get a quote for exactly what we wanted and Santos did a great job installing. We could not be happier with the quality and quick time it took to get our basement wall repaired.

Great experience. They started at 8:30 am and finished around 1 pm. They replaced the sump pump and repaired to cracks in the wall. They left the place cleaner than they found it. He took the time to allow me to clean the drier vent, which was an added plus.
I would recommend them. Their customer service is exceptional. The project manager had worked there for 31 years, which speaks volumes about the company.

We had majority of our basement walls waterproofed and they were very kind to cover everything with plastic during the job. The gentleman where very courteous to me and my children. They cleaned up after they left and would highly recommend them to anyone needing basement work.

Thank you for taking the time to review us! We are glad to hear that you are happy with your project and that your home and family were treated respectfully. Your recommendation is a great compliment. We appreciate your time, trust, and business.

In September of 2014, we contacted The Basement Doctor because we had mold growing primarily on the back wall of the basement. The representative, Curtis C, promised that what we needed was to clean off all of the walls and then seal them. He also said that we needed a larger dehumidifier. He told us that this would take care of the problem and that we would have one year guarantee. I guess I should have been concerned about a one year warranty as that alone is suspect, but I didn't listen to my gut. So the crew came in and cleaned off the walls and sealed them. We also agreed to spray foam in the area from the upper part of the wall and the first floor of my home. The crew was very professional and the basement looked great when they finished. In May of 2017, we started to have some leakage between the one wall and the floor. A rep. came out to look and he said that first of all the warranty had expired and they had done nothing to the floor so this problem wasn't covered; any fix would be at an additional cost. We decided not to do anything at that time since had happened was during a particularly wet spring. Now in 2019, we had what looked like mold again so we called and a rep. was sent out to check the problem. He told us that what we were seeing was leakage, but it wasn't mold. The company could fix the problem, but there would be an additional cost. So after paying them almost $10,000, we still have a problem. We have since contacted another company who has another system that will be guaranteed for life and the warranty can be transferred to a buyer should we decide to sell our home. So The Basement Doctor has cost us dearly as now someone else has to come in and clean up their mess.

We have reached out to the homeowner on several occasions since this post was made and have not heard back from them. I want to make sure that they homeowner knows that we would like to help them with this situation and are happy to see what we can do to help them overcome this challenge. We understand how frustrating it can be to fix one problem and then experience another problem that needs to be addressed. The original problem serviced was for moisture penetration through the wall. The solution performed in 2014, while effective for moisture penetration through a wall, will not prevent water seepage at the wall floor joint. In addition, an excessive amount of moisture around the foundation will cause ANY wall sealant to fail over time. This is the reason for the 1 year warranty. It appears that the issues that the homeowner is experiencing are separate issues from the one that we addressed in 2014. I would like to get someone out to do a thorough inspection, both inside and outside, to determine the cause of the problem.
There are several reasons why the homeowner may be experiencing the current issues. It is possible, but not for certain, that the existing drainage tile has become clogged or has failed leading to additional water seepage. It looks like we shared this information as a possibility with the homeowner in May of 2017 as indicated on the inspection sheet attached. We offered to do further inspection by removing a portion of the floor to make sure and the homeowner declined. I would recommend that this inspection be performed before the homeowner spend additional money doing a foundation tile that may not be required and that would not prevent the issues they are experiencing with the wall anyway. The other issue could be that the underground downspout lines or the gutters have failed which is leading to a build up of water next to the foundation. I also noticed that we discovered a failed sump pump during our inspection in September of 2016. A failed sump pump can lead to water build up around the foundation which could lead to water seepage at the wall/floor joint. The wall coating that we applied is not designed to prevent either of these issues. It is only designed to correct the issues that the homeowner was experiencing at the time of the original problem almost 5 years ago.

At this point, I do not believe that a refund in any amount is warranted. It appears that we were clear with what we were going to do and the homeowner has acknowledged that she understood the work and the warranty in both the complaint and on the contract executed in 2014. Unfortunately, additional work is required to repair the new issue at this home. We would be happy to provide the homeowner with an outline of the work required to repair the new issue and the cost to do the additional work. We would be willing to come out and perform an inspection of the sub-floor tile at no cost to the customer (normally a chargeable service) to see if a failed drainage system is indeed the issue. This would require us to remove a portion of the floor along the edge of a wall in the area experiencing the issue (a few feet should suffice) to inspect the tile. I would highly recommend this to make sure that the appropriate solution for the new problem is performed.

I would like to reiterate that we are willing to work with the homeowner to correct their current issues but we need to do an inspection of the property to determine exactly what is needed. If the homeowner will return our call, we will get them on the schedule ASAP and see what we can do to help.

A couple of months ago I filed a complaint about the Basement Doctor and what We had expected with our first experience with them. Well I met with them and learned about what was not part of our initial package, but they were willing to make it right and also told us what we could do to help the basement. Well today they did make it right and I want to say thank you very much. It looks great!!! Thank you also for the other tips which we are slowly putting into place.

We really appreciate the Basement Doctor and the professionalism displayed by Santos C and Todd S and everyone who worked on our situation. We would definitely recommend the Basement Doctor to any person who wants quality work done in their home.

I have been working with the Basement Doctor for many years. They stabilized my sagging basement walks and made a drainage path along the basement walls for any water to go to the sump pump.
They come back every year to check things out. This year they noted that the pipe from my sump pump to the street was clogged and the came back and fixed.

Description:
I was having a problem with my basement walls. I called the Basement Doctor. Mr. L came to my
home and told me that my sump pump needed to be replaced. He also told me that it was "emergency"
and handwrote on the contract that I had no right to cancel the installation. He pressured me to initial
that handwritten note. There was no emergency. My basement has never been wet, even in heavy
rains. I don't even think my sump pump was broken. Then, they installed a sump and back up battery for
$2850.00 t I have since been told by friends and family that I was way over-charged. My Realtor told me
that a plumber could have installed a sump pump and back up (if it was needed) for well under
$1000.00. I called The Basement Doctor to ask for a line item list of what the $2850.00 was for and to
ask that it be removed. They said they couldn't do that because I initialed the "no cancellation" note on
the contract. I feel taken advantage of. I don't mind paying fair market for a sump pump, but I don't have
$3000 to expend unnecessarily. The charge was put on a credit card, but the credit card company says
I can't dispute it because I initialed the "non cancellation" handwritten note.

I had the best experience with the Basement Doctor and two of their professionals. The project manager, Robert and the job foreman, Justin were outstanding. They talked me through every step, showed me what they did and why, protected my home and furnishings during the process and quite frankly exceeded my expectations. The project manager showed up at the completion of the job to be sure that the job met his expectations. Honestly, they went above and beyond the scope of work I expected. I was very skeptical of the project but when someone backs their work with a 25 year transferable warranty, you begin to understand why you pay a premium price for the work. No one offers a 25 year warranty in any business but I guess if you are that good and still in business 30 years later you hired a company who knows what they're doing. I am glad that the owner spends so much time advertising on TV because that's how I found the Basement Doctor. After all of this Ohio rain, I can finally sleep tonight knowing I only had to fix this problem once.

Basement Doctors team hit the ground running and didn’t stop till the job was completed. They always had time to explain what was going on, they took the time to answer all the questions I had. The team leader Jamison R, kept the team moving forward. They did an excellent job to include the clean up after the job was done. I am very happy with the job, well done thank you.

Great experience. They were there on time with estimate and service. I did not feel the need to keep looking as the cost was within budget. Love the sump pump installed.

I would recommend The Basement Doctor to anyone looking for a solution to water in the basement. I obtained three proposals for the work on my basement and selected The Basement Doctor because they seemed most knowledgeable and developed a plan directed at the specific problems in my basement. One of the companies that I talked with seemed to have a one-size-fits-all solution.
I was pleased with the work of The Basement Doctor staff – from the original estimate, to the visit by the foreman prior to beginning work, through final completion of the project. All appointments were kept on-time and work was completed in less time than estimated. The crew did an excellent job of protecting my house from the dust and dirt of the work and cleaned up the site before leaving. Everyone was great to work with.

The Basement Doctor did an outstanding job! The initial call of scheduling to have Jeff come out and look at the seepage issue in a crawlspace was handled professional and timely. Most importantly, Santos did an incredible installation job of the EZ Flow System that worked beautifully during/after the 2-3" rainfall of Feb 5-6, 2019. Peace of Mind of knowing that water is no longer sitting in the crawlspace, but rather being directed to the sump. - CW
