I am writing to you to express my dissatisfaction with General Electric. The contents of this package include several letters to various levels of GE in my attempt to reach the Connecticut Headquarters, as well as a photograph detailing my fire.My dissatisfaction with GE is prompted by my...

disagreement with the assessment of the GE repairman, in which he stated that there was no defect with the range. This assessment was supported by the GE Appliance Headquarters in Kentucky. They offered $700.00 towards a new GE range, but could not guarantee a different repairman in the future. Therefore I decided on another brand and am seeking $700.00 reimbursement for my range, which was only five years old. The Appliance Headquarters denied me again.Due to my dissatisfaction with General Electric and the potential hazard this poses to others, I would like to file this complaint.

Thank you for the opportunity to re-review this consumer’s situation.  Please be advised that a GE Factory Service technician was out to service Mr. [redacted]’s washer on April 30, 2016 and found no fault with the unit. The unit is out of the one-year manufacturer’s warranty. As a gesture of goodwill GE has offered Mr. [redacted] a buyback in which he has not accepted and the offer is due to expire today, May 16, 2016. You have not addressed the fact that I have been without a washer since 9/28/2015. These "solutions" should have been offered immeadiately, in my first call with [redacted] at the call center and her follow up call you all were aware that there were no repair people here that are GE certified so why were these "solutions" not offered then. By not addressing this issue in a TIMELY manner I have been forced to spend over $200. at the laundromat and $50. in gas to get to there not to mention the time I have had to spend. The repair time is out by several weeks now, especially with the holidays. And should I mangle the washer to send the cord etc. who is responsible for removing the now mangled machine??? how will I be reimbursed for it's removal.

I spoke to a young lady at GE and was offered a refund on my service call fee. She is saying as did the other gentlemen from GE that appliances have about a life of 10 years. It was my belief that they should last a lot longer than they did years past due to the advancement of technology. I would think that over the years they would be a lot more advanced and not moving backward. I guess this is GE's position, which discourages me from ever patronizing the company in the future.

comfortable with having the unit repaired. I explained that it was under warranty and that the repair would be at no cost to her.  The GE Tech left my house and BEFORE leaving driveway.... the unit stopped producing cold air. The tech week before said MORE work needed to be done since "something" had blown the fuse. The tech out last ONLY REPLACED fuse and unit did not stay working for longer than FIVE minutes. I called GE right away since tech was literally leaving. GE said the best they can do it make YET ANOTHER appointment for JUNE 9, 2015 , move than a week away again.  AND WANTS ME TO PAY FOR THIS SERVICE,.. I am at wits end over this. I FINALLY called ANOTHER company to fix unit, they looked at it and in less than FIVE minutes replied (to which I have written statement) the unit is DONE.. there is rusted lines leading to coolant and it can not be repaired..  I am now REFUSING to pay GE any monies for ANY time at my home.  This is very underhanded that they would NOT know that unit is DONE and order a fuse when they know another issue is problem.. not to mention charging me again since they did not have the fuse in hand... AND this has been going on for over a month, so NO I AM REFUSING TO accept their response.
