Star Office Supply Reviews (2003)

Per our records your address is not eligible for Fiber at this time. There are no plans to upgrade your area at this time. The speeds are not guaranteed you get up to 5 mbps per our terms and conditions.
8. Service Speed
ZoomTown and Fioptics Services come in a variety of speeds. The...

availability of some service speeds may depend on the location of facilities in your neighborhood and on your street. Not all service speeds are available in all areas. Cincinnati Bell does not guarantee that the Service, Equipment, or other equipment authorized by Cincinnati Bell for use in connection with the Service will perform at a particular speed, bandwidth, or data throughput rate, or will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses, worms, disabling code or conditions, or the like. The speed measurement advertised by Cincinnati Bell refers to the Internet access speed provisioned to a subscriber on a per-line and not a per-device basis. The actual speed realized by the subscriber may vary based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to: the capabilities or limitations of the customer’s computer, network, or other device; the number of computers or other devices in use in the customer’s home network; concurrent use of Internet access and a TV video on demand service, which consumes Internet access bandwidth; the means of connecting to the Cincinnati Bell network (e.g., the condition of the home’s inside wiring or the type and condition of WiFi router); the distance of the home from the Cincinnati Bell broadband network aggregation point or the type of Cincinnati Bell network facilities present in a given location; network congestion; and the performance of the content and application providers the consumer is accessing, as well as the performance of their respective host network(s). Since we are not planning on upgrading anytime soon and you are experiencing the slow speeds I am able to lower your bill $25.00 a month for the next year.
Cincinnati Bell is committed to providing our customers with outstanding service. We apologize for any inconvenience we’ve caused you, and appreciate the opportunity to better serve you going forward.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.
[While I did receive credit for a technician that came out to repair service that was not working, I greatly appreciate him getting my wireless and wired internet properly working considering it is service I'm paying for. However regarding my speed of internet, it was never a request of mine to change the speed due to the fact that I use it for my business which it is required to have a speed of 10 and no more, so I assume a representative changed the speed due to a connection issue because that is the only time I need to speak with someone, whenever I have a service issues. The same with my package, I was never told that I had a promotion for a year until I start asking questions regarding my bills. I never signed anything saying I agree to a promotion. I have basic cable, no movie channels. If I had a promotion I would have never committed or would have never committed to a much higher rate once the promotion expired. I do not think it's fair as a customer to spend hours on the phone with a rep that continuously tell me it's Cincinnati Bell word over mine and there is nothing I can do about it. Not to mention I finally got my bill down to $100 and now it's well over $500]

Revdex.com:
Cinti Bell has refused to address the issue that a supposed life time contract was voided due to their actions not mine. They have also ignored the fact that their employees lied, or at worst provided incorrect information on more than one occasion.

RE: Previous Cincinnati Bell account number [redacted]

Cincinnati Bell is responding to the complaint you filed with the Revdex.com concerning our 1GB speed.

First...

of all, thank you for your interest in the new 1GB Internet speed.

There are many factors that will affect a customer’s Internet speeds.  All of the factors are disclosed to customers in our Terms and Conditions and the 1GB brochure that can be found online at cincinnatibell.com/fioptics. Cincinnati Bell has never guaranteed a set Internet speed.

While Cincinnati Bell is continuously working with the latest in evolving technology, it is important to note factors that may limit reaching optimal speeds.
WIRELESS DEVICES
While you will not achieve gigabit speeds via WiFi and your Wireless device, you will have the ability to experience much faster speeds than other providers in the Greater Cincinnati market.
WIRED DEVICES Cincinnati Bell delivers up to 1Gbps to your home, not each device. Factors that may impact speed are computer hardware including the network interface card, processor, and RAM; Computer software including anti-virus and browsers; Inside wiring; and Cincinnati Bell Network and Internet limitations and congestion.
INSIDE WIRING
Cat 5e and Cat 6 are standard for gigabit services. Anything less would not be able to accommodate such speeds.

It is never Cincinnati Bell’s intention to mislead our customers in any way.  On behalf of Cincinnati Bell I apologize if you feel we have done so in this matter.

Please feel free to view our Terms & Conditions online for more information on High Speed Internet speed requirements.

To answer their question, yes, I have contacted rebate headquarters numerous times in the last year. I haven't this month. They are the ones that who have told me, "It's in the mail" numerous times. They have also told me that Cincinnati Bell requires that I be charged this extra fee to have the card sent to my new correct address, yet can never tell me who I need to speak with about that. Then they tell me that in reality the rebate headquarters is a division of Cincinnati Bell. I'm tired of the run around. Send me the full rebate to my correct address.

RE: [redacted])
Dear [redacted],
This letter is in response to the rebuttal that you filed with the Revdex.com regarding our do not call or email process.
Cincinnati Bell will not be able to provide you with any type of digital recordings. In order to get a copy of a recorded call you would need to have a subpoena.
I have had your name, email address and phone # added to the Do not call or email or mail list here at Cincinnati Bell. I have followed our process to have this done.
Cincinnati Bell considers this complaint resolved and closed.
It is never Cincinnati Bell’s intention to upset or frustrate our customers. On behalf of Cincinnati Bell, I apologize if you feel we have done so in this matter.

RE: ###-###-####,[redacted]

Cincinnati Bell is responding to the complaint you filed with the Revdex.com concerning a change in your phone service.

Cincinnati Bell records all calls...

for quality and development purposes.

In reviewing the call we found that you called asking for a plan that included call block.
The representative advised you that we only have one plan that includes call block.  That plan is called the HomePak Advantage and is $41.00.  This plan includes all Cincinnati Bell calling features and Unlimited Long Distance.  The representative also told you that you could purchase the Call Block feature without the package for an additional $5.00 per month.

You then told the representative that you saw a promotion online offering the HomePak Advantage for only $29.99. This promotion could be added for 12 months only.  You clearly agreed to add this plan. The representative then quoted you a price of $67.31 and sent you a receipt showing this amount.  The amount did not include taxes.

I reviewed your first bill and found it was more due to taxes and a late fee.  I found that an order was placed changing you to the HomePak Lite and all promotions remained on your account.  In addition to the promotions of $32.99, you are also receiving a bundle rebate of $5.00.  Total promotions are $37.99.

A credit of $12.18 has already been applied.  Due to Cincinnati Bell’s Telephone Service Standards, we do not compensate for time or loss of wages.

No additional credits are warranted.

It is never Cincinnati Bells intention to upset our customers.  On behalf of Cincinnati Bell, I apologize if you feel we have done so in this matter.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. Cincinnati Bell did call last week.  The male clerk that called wanted to know what my account number was.  The call seemed suspicious.  Why would he ask me for my account number when they all ready have it.   I need to know what the physical address is that Cincinnati Bell has this equipment hooked up to?  [redacted] and [redacted]  This is still on my home internet located at [redacted]. There is no way to "forget it" or disconnect it from our home computers.  Cincinnati Bell did call again on Thursday and stated his supervisor would call me and they were still trying to fix the problem.  What is the problem? Again, I need to know where this connection is hooked up.  What physical address?Nothing has been done to fix this ongoing problem of 5 months.  An open and available internet connection that belongs to Cincinnati Bell is hooked up in my home.  Anyone can open the connection and gain access.  ###-###-####. Cincinnati Bell is responding to the complaint you filed with the Revdex.com concerning a wire laying across your yard.

In speaking with a manager in...

our Buried Wire department, we assumed the work had already been completed.  After further investigation, we found that it had not been done.

A technician has been scheduled and will have the wire buried sometime next week.  I was told they have already contacted you to relay this information.
