When I pointed out so does our electrical system and therefore should be covered under the same inclusion I was told "it's not the same." How exactly is this different when we have outlets on the inside that are on the same circuit as the outside outlets? This is clearly a company who is trying to avoid their contractual obligationI also don't appreciate the intimidation tactics used by Mr [redacted] when I told him I would be exercising my first amendment right to share what a terrible experience we have had with this companyI was told, "we will bring a lawsuit against you." I'm not sure how a company that can't even properly write a sentence (the response to this complaint was littered with grammatical and spelling errors) can really understand the language of their contract to make the determination about whether outside is covered in "single family dwelling" and "living area of the home." They don't even know what section of the contract defines a single family homeI had to correct different people that it was section not and Mr [redacted] had the audacity to argue with me that it is section He then realized I was correct it was section and offered a very snotty, "sorry."I have never experienced such poor customer service; I had to leave messages for Jarmel and send an email to someone named Kendra before receiving a call back and people I did speak to were rude and constantly interrupted meI hope the $that you're refusing to pay out is worth a loss of future customersWe are planning on moving again in the further and I would NEVER use this company againYou need to do some serious customer service trainingI expect a check in a timely manner Regards, [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: Again the first time I try to make a claim, they can not provide the service that I paid for They also were unwilling to return my calls as they stated I would not have cancelled my policy if they were able to provide the service that was contained in the contract that I signed They claim I was covered for months but that is only because I did not need any service The first attempt that I made to secure there services showed their inability to provide those services
Customer purchased policy on 04/17/2014, the policy iseffective days after the initial purchase date.Select Home Warranty set the customer up with paymentinstallments, it was agreed that the amount of would be paid in fourpayments of 137.50, starting 4/17/2014.We charged the customer on 04/17/2014, 05/17/2014, and06/17/2014, when we tried to charge the last installment on 7/17/thecredit card came up declined, we emailed the customer to inform of the matter.The customer called in on 7/31/and update the creditcard information, we tried to charge the card again for the last installmentand it came back declined The customerwas sent a courtesy email, to discuss the matter with the credit card.On 10/29/the customer emailed a request for a claim onthe Garage Door Opener, we sent an email to the customer stating that we neededto speak with her.On 10/30/the customer called in and we explained thatif the policy is not paid by the agreed upon installment plan the policy willlapse The customer requested to cancelcontract at that time, the customer was refunded per the contract Terms &ConditionsSee Below:Cancellation by You.You may cancel this Agreement within thirty (30) days from the Order Date ofthis Agreement, as set forth on the schedule page accompanying this Agreement.In the event you cancel within the thirty (30) day period, the You shall be entitledto a full refund if and only if, no service has been provided under thecontractAfter the thirtieth day, you may receive a refund pro-rated at thenon-discounted annual plan costA $cancellation fee will be charged and anyservice costs incurred by Select Home WarrantyThe customer was refunded for months and we charged for 5months starting from the date ofpurchase.The customer was charged months at the non-discounted rateof 42.00/month(210.00) + Cancellation Fee(75.00) – 412.50(amount customer paid)leaving a balance of to be refunded to the customerSelect HomeWarranty did inform the customer of this amount and the cancellation policy& procedures, the customer was credited in the amount of directly totheir credit card on 11/3/
Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: My request for a refund for the remaining policy term, does not excuse the fact that the company denied a valid claim for repairsI still had to pay the ENTIRE cost to replace my AC unit, without ANY compensation from Select Home Warranty, despite work estimate from their chosen contractor stating repairs were need that were covered in contractIronically the contractor Select Home Warranty chose, actually warned me that Select Home Warranty would deny the claim and not payThe exact phrase was "good luck getting them to pay for anything" I feel they offer a product, then find any excuse to deny reimbursement Regards, [redacted]
Both charges have been put back to the customers credit cardplease give it a few more days to post

Select Home Warranty contacted the customer as we have not heard from him since the claim was placed. We advised that we would be more than happy to assist with the electrical claim, the customer advised us that he had the issue taken care of himself and would like to cancel his policy with... us. The customer was advised that he will receive a pro-rated refund as per the Terms & Conditions.
Select Home Warranty has refunded the customer the amount of directly back to their card

Hot water heaters that completely fail and leak are not covered select selects what they cover after salespeople sell everything being covered classic bait and switchYou think you are covered and then the fine print allows them to avoid responsibilityI don't expect them to change their party line that leaks aren't covered just warn any contemplating a home warranty company to select another oneThey should be sued for bad faithThey violate the spirit of their agreement with clever rhetoricI had american home shield that covered everything and was talked into select which is slow to act ,10days, but never covers anyway put your premium in the bank you can cover your own repairs hopefully we can use the electronic media to warn the unwaryOf their sharp business tactics thanks for your help and selectAnother one
